  1. My son got this when he was 4 1/2 and he really loves it (he wants to be a paramedic when he grows up). I was surprised at how realistic this toy is...the only downfall to this aspect of the toy is all of the individual parts. When he got the toy, my son had a problem getting all of the pieces in their proper places and putting some of the small items together, but about 6 months later he has figured most of it out. The pieces are kind of small, but I think this has been good for his coordination development. He has found several other imaginative uses for the various parts of this toy, as well. I highly recommend this toy, and any playmobil toy, if the subject matter is something that interests your child.

  2. I have a 5 yr old boy who is very detail oriented. He wanted a white ambulance he could put his "injured" firemen into. This was the only white one I could find that actually opened in the back. But it was so much more for him. It has a guirney with a strap and IV (clips onto arm) A cast for the arm, leg and headwrap. It has different "medical equipment" and he can't stop playing with it. The only thing he would have liked is a siren that really makes noise(although this is probably a + for most parents)The blue lights really flash and he just makes the siren noise himself- which I think is adorable. I will definately look into more playmobile toys for him.

  1. I have 2 boys, ages 7 and 5. They LOVE Playmobil, especially the airport sets. They can play for hours with all the luggage, carts, planes, etc. Playmobil makes a great product that is kid friendly... they can put it together with little help and it does not come apart when they play with it.

  1. I bought my nephews (ages 5 and 2) a playmobile SWAT police craft and SWAT helicopter for Christmas. They loved them! The were easy to put together and more importantly they stayed together when the boys were playing with them. They loved the little guys they could put in and out of the helicopter and the boat. I definatley recommend these toys!

5 comments about Playmobil Pirate Treasure Chest.
  1. I gave it to my grandson of four he got two of them for his brithday so he can play with both side at once. He also has the pitate shp so he is very much into the pirate thing. I think there are better things for him to do but this is better than a lot of thing that are out there.

  2. This is a great toy. I purchased after reading all the rave reviews and was not disappointed at all. It is defintely well worth the money. Has a lot of accessories with it. My son uses this with his pirate ship and dungeon and he plays with it quite a bit and has had it almost a year.
It stores everything inside, which is great for all those little pieces and has a handy handle to carry it wherever. Wish more toys had those!

  3. Our 4.5 year old loves this.

We take away all the toy guns, but the cannon is great! We line things up and try to knock them over with the cannon. Unlike most projectile toys in the house, nothing has been damaged!

We have seen kids carry this set to swim meets, etc - portable entertainment!

I love the modular aspect of Playmobil - every new set you get adds to the fun of previous sets. The pirates can visit the castle, the dump truck can visit the train, etc. Lots of creative play options!

About the small parts - if you loose something, call Playmobil and they will send new if they have it. We got replacement oarlocks, and a replacement cannon (by mistake - we asked for the cannon balls!)

  4. we love Playmobil, and we have many of their sets.
When we purchased this, it was clearly a favorite for many months.
However, long-term use by my son, who is now 5, the doors do not stay on. I tried everything short of duct taping it back together. I finally pitched it in the garbage, 'lo and behold my son went and got it out of the trash. He likes it that much, there's just no way to keep the toys inside.
They really could have made this much more durable. It would be a 5 star toy if the quality were greatly improved.

  5. My two boys love this toy. There's a little assembly, but I love the detail! My 3 year old loves anything pirates and he had so much fun discovering each new trinket that comes with the chest.

The chest opens up on both sides to reveal more landscapes for your pirate. There's a boardwalk, some trees, a treasure chest with coins (the coins are almost all disappeared already but that's my boys), 3 pirates with interchangeable accessories, and more!

What's great is that when it's time to clean up, the kids just have to put everything in the treasure chest and close it back up again!

  1. Gillian told me she just loves this camper, it follows through with the other playmobil products purchased for her and the rest of her sisters also have playmobil products and they all flow together in some way to making play fun and educational at the same time.

  2. Finally, a toy that's actually fun to play with! Playmobile's camper has been an absolute hit at our house. With its pop-off roof that reveals extra beds, a table, and even a bathroom, combined with it's open-and-shut storage space and pull-out awning, this camper has allowed its playmobile family to "camp out" in every room in our house and even at the babysitter's! The camper comes with a TON of accessories and, best of all, you can play with it any way you want, unlike many of the single-service toys today. This reminds me of the toys I had when I was a kid and my children just love it. It's even made a few unplanned trips down the stairs and is still in tip-top shape! For a boy or a girl, this is a perfect gift!!

3 comments about Playmobil Pirate Corsair.
  1. This is Playmobil's beginner pirate ship and it's a great way to start out with Playmobil.

    1) All Playmobil products are of the highest quality. Everything is well made, thought out and designed by this great company which has been popular in Europe for decades but only relatively recently in the US. Playmobil is the Mercedes of toy brands.

    2) This is Playmobil's starter pirate ship with the least amount of accessories, and it's also the least expensive. Playmobil has been releasing the Corsair in different color schemes and trims. If you like this color and scheme, you shouldn't wait because once it's gone Playmobil might discontinue it after a few years.

    3) This ship is not for any child under 7 or so, because this isn't a throw away toy. It's very well designed and "realistic" pirate ship with rigging and sails. If your child is younger, you might want to keep the small acessories in their bags first and not rig the sails or rigging. You can play just as well without them. This ship floats and you can buy a add on motor to make it go.

    4) The great secret about this ship and Playmobil in general is that there are tons of add ons. You can buy additional pirates to beef up your crew or government forces to fight against them, plus forts and additional cannons, etc. This ship will grow with your child. If you have any questions about Playmobil there are several guides, catalogs and forums where you can hang out with like minded people.

    6) In conclusion, this is a great starter ship at a great price and a great introduction to Playmobil. Once you get hooked on Playmobil, you'll won't be able to help buying more Playmobil stuff. I don't know if that'll be a good thing or not.

  2. My son received this as part of a set for Christmas this year. He will be 5 in Feb. He played gently with it but it still began falling apart. He liked it but was quickly annoyed by the falling sails. He doesn't even bother with it now.

Of course, his set came with other parts, but it took us over an hour to assemble just the boat. The only part of the boat that was already assembled was the shell of it. We had to put on everything else.

I'm sure there are other products out there that are easier to assemble and easier to play with. This shouldn't be played with. It needs to sit on a shelf to collect dust.

  3. Both of my boys are pirate lovers (age 7 and 10) and they both love all the Playmobil. Playmobil are great toys to improve imagination because they are in no way related any media like cartoons or film. It allows them to pretend whatever they wish. It is also great in the tub. We have Playmobil that has lasted 6 years plus in great shape minus a few parts that have been lost.

  1. It took maybe 10 minutes to put this item together on Christmas Eve. There were more parts than I had expected and the plane was also larger than I had expected but this turned out to be perfect for little hands to fit down inside of. The wheels roll and turn Very smoothly. The plastic is heavy duty and will not be breaking in our lifetime. While the wheels occasionally come off during a 'crash' and sometimes the tail has fallen off, I believe this is what keeps the toy from really breaking. It's a good design and the kids 3&5 can usually put it back together themselves. The top comes off, the side door opens and there is a luggage compartment in the back.

  2. My 3 1/2 yr old granddaughter wanted an 'airplane' for Christmas (grandpa's a pilot). After a fair amount of shopping around, this looked like a good bet. I think it is. Toy is made from appears to be pretty durable plastic parts. Top of the fuselage comes off, allowing child to play with pilot and Texas oilman passenger in airplane. One note of caution: plane comes in parts and must be assembled. Graphic assembly instructions are large and clear, but assembly is complex enough that an adult will be required to do the assembly. Presumably one who has some aptitude at using graphic instructions.

  1. My 2 year old daughter got this as a gift and after we put all the little pieces away for safe keeping, we let her play with the bigger pieces--the furniture and the family figurines--and she LOVES it. It keeps her entertained for a good long time and she loves to play alone or with company. And it more than stands up to the usual toddler wear and tear!

  2. My husband is European and had many Playmobil sets as a child. We picked this dollhouse up as a souvenir for my daughter while we were on vacation. My daughter has the short attention span that is typical of an almost four-year-old but this toy engages her interest for long stretches of time. She loves to put the dolls in bed, to have them read the book, to put the baby in its stroller. She has the dolls talk to one another and I've really enjoyed seeing how this toy encourages her in imaginative play. I can't say enough good things about Playmobil.

  3. After much research, this is the doll house I want to purchase for my daughter. One of the reasons is that Playmobil has strong toy safety standards. Since I haven't received this set yet, could someone let me know what the country of manufacture is? (Not China?)

  4. I purchased this for a 2 year old girl who is advanced for her age. She liked it very much. The pieces are VERY tiny so they need to be kept away from children who put things in their mouths. Convenient to take the dollhouse anywhere and all the pieces fit inside for storage. It is very cute and she will be able to enjoy it as she grows older.

  5. This toy has been a hit at our house. I love that it is a self containing toy, even though there are many small pieces. The kids will sit and play with this for quite a long time, then they can easily close it and contain all the pieces.

This is my favorite playmobil toy for that reason. ;)

4 comments about Playmobil Jet Plane.
  1. I was so impressed by this toy after receiving & putting it together that I bought more playmobil toys. There is assembly required - clear windows have to be popped in, as well as wheels, tail, wings, seats, bathroom, & doors. Our 4 y.o. grandson loved the opening toilet lid. All the passengers & pilot had to use the toilet & wash their hands before being seated! The nose-wheel turns so the plane easily pushes & turns on the floor/carpet before taking off. I removed the tail to pack the plane for shipping to our grandson's home & was afraid I'd break it because it stays together so well, but it didn't break even though it was very hard to pull off. The people from other Playmobil toys are interchangeable, so also got to ride on the plane (as well as a doghouse w/dogs in the cargo bay). The top of the plane lifts off & a large cargo bay door opens for easy access to the inside.

  2. This is our first Playmobil set and my son loves it! The plane went together easily and is sturdy....this is a large sized plane, which is neat but at 4 yrs. old he is just able to carry it so it can "fly". He loves planes, so this was perfect. We love the quality of the toy and will be looking at more Playmobil sets in the future....

  3. We went to Disney World this year and it was our sons first airplane ride. And since our sons, 8 and 4, love Playmobil, their grandparents gave them this plane for Christmas. It is a huge hit! it is played with every day. The plane is very big! It has seating for two pilots (comes with a pilot and flight attendant) in the cockpit area, and seating for 5 additional passengers (comes with two). The boarding door opens and there is a roomy cargo area towards the rear. And the bathroom is a funny feature, with it's potty and tiny roll of toilet paper. Lastly, the lid over the cockpit and the body comes off leaving plenty of room for easy access to the inside of the plane.

The assembly was not too fun, popping in the little windows started to hurt my fingers. And some pieces, like the engines do tend to fall off sometimes, it is not that much of a problem, but some connections on parts of Playmobil toys are not that strong.

Overall, a fun toy with a lot of play value.

  4. I bought this toy as an eductional gift for my friend's almost 4 year old son. As part of his educational therapy they have been using Playmobil toys and this plane set was a good addition. All of the little details really help him understand real life activities.
