- Bought these as party favors for my three year old's birthday - they are a larger size can than the ones in the "party pack" . I bought two packages and there are colors I wouldn't give out to kids as party favors - white, black and brown - so now we can two cans each of those colors for our use here at home. My son isn't too picky on the colors and they get all mixed up anyway so it is not a big deal. We keep a can in our diaper bag to pull out if he gets restless when we are out to eat or whatever.
- There is nothing that will ever measure up to the amazing potential of Play-Doh, at least not for the affordable price that Play-Doh is available for. For less than $2 you can purchase four full sized pots of Play-Doh in a variety of colors; else you can spend a little more and purchase this Party Pack and get a variety of ten different colors for the equally affordable price of $2.99.
The affordability of Play-Doh is not the only plus to the famous modeling clay, I absolutely adore the clay for it's educational factors as well. Between the physical actions involved in molding Play-Doh which allows younger children to exercise small hand muscles and increase development, to the social interaction involved in Play-Doh dates and parties. There are many things that allow children to develop whilst playing with the clay.
Another plus to Play-Doh clay is the color education factor. Children can create their own colors by molding together two or even three various colors of clay and consequently learn all about color mixing and development. The unfortunate factor to this is that once the clay colors are mixed it is impossible to pull out the original colors from the clay; however, this does teach children about permanence of actions which is not always a bad thing.
In a nutshell the only drawbacks I have with Play-Doh is that it does not last when left out of the can and it is not waterproof, both of this things are simply the nature of the beast and come with the makeup of the clay itself.
Pros
Social interaction, physical education, small muscle skills, colors education, imaginative play
Cons
Non-waterproof, limited durability.
- I ordered this product prior to Christmas and expected it to arrive prior to Christmas - as per the website.
I was disappointed that the product arrived four days after Christmas.

5 comments about Play-Doh 50th Birthday Rainbow Pack of 50 Different Colors.
- I couldn't believe how many colors there were in the play-doh package. My granddaughters loved it. The package was so heavy my little 4 yr. old granddaughter was trying to carry it and kept saying, "but its soooo big". They were so excited and i'm so glad i found this product on Amazon. I love the little individual packaging. What a great idea to give us a 50th anniversary color set. By the way. All the products i bought from Amazon all arrived within 4 days even though Amazon said maybe 2 weeks. love this place.
- The items were as advertised - 50 2 oz. containers of Play-Doh each in a different color. I cannot review their contents or ease of use since they were bought as gifts for underprivileged children and donated to the local food bank toy drive. I do know that they were difficult to find in retail stores until 2 weeks after I had purchased them at Amazon.com.
My children and grand-children have used Play-Doh over the years so I know it's a good, safe product and a gift-giving staple.
- This product is not nearly as good as I remember. As a parent, I avoid this like the plague.
First of all, let's be honest, it stinks. I forgot how nauseating this product really smells. Yuck! Second, it's messy. It crumbles and falls apart easily. Therefore it ends up everywhere. I.E. on the table, floor, chairs, carpet, etc. Third, the colors do not mix well together, no matter how much you work them. Finally, once it dries out, it's garbage. Children tend to never put the lid on properly, so it has a short shelf life.
Yes, I'll admit that it is fun to squish, mash, and make various shapes out of this. However, modeling clay is a much better choice. It lasts forever, because it does not crumble or dry out. It does not smell great either, but it smells better than this stuff.
- Yes, you have to keep it away from the carpet, and yes, it has that oh-so-familiar Play_Doh smell, but there is something so therapeutic about sitting down with your kids and squeezing this stuff in your hands. Rolling it out, using cookie cutters on it, making little animals.
The tubs in this set are small, but I love the variety of colors - 50!
We bought this set almost a year ago, and it's still fresh and moist - maybe it's ths small containers that keep it moist.
It's a great buy for the price.
- I have only word for this - fantastic - this one derives its inspiration straight from real kids and their parents...what do kids love more than variety - they really don't care that its a small container of play doh - as long as there are many of them. and what do parents love more than the fact that even if some of the play doh is left out and dries up, as it will sometimes, there's so much more....and you really can't beat the price
The best way to use this product is in small quanities - I let my daughter choose 2 new colors every week and play with those and all the others she has open already...granted no color looks anything like it started out, but hey, childhood is all that and more....

5 comments about Spinmaster Moon Sand Castle Play Set.
- After reading all of these reviews I guess I am the only one who loves this product. My son will be 3 in February and after receiving the Adventure Island this Christmas has played with it every day. He and I both love the texture of the sand and also the ease in cleaning. He plays with the sand on the kitchen table and after he is finished I take a small hand broom and sweep it up. I don't let him track it over carpeted areas. He can literally play with the Moon Sand for over an hour! Although he can not mold the sand into the molds he does dig and make hills and he has a blast. I sit with him and mold the animals so he can squish it. I would recommend this product and have to several friends.
- I only allowed my children to play with this outside, as it gets EVERYWHERE inside, it is difficult for young children to keep it within the play set. There isn't a whole lot of sand in the pack so children easily become annoyed when they can only build a few things and then they have to destroy them. It also manages to attract dirt, soil etc outside so after only playing with this a few times I had to throw the whole thing away. Complete waste of money. Get some real sand...
- I have been reading the reviews on Moonsand and wonder if most people complaining about it are just lazy parents who are looking for something such as a video game to babysit their child. I have moonsand for my 2 and 4 year old grandchildren and never once had I minded cleaning it up. This is played with on a daily basis if not twice a day. You have to watch the children playing with the sand to ensure it doesn't wind up all over them, the floor and the table. Clean-up isn't hard - a wet rag, a dry broom and a dustpan!! I just ordered the large re-fill kits for the kids and didn't blink an eye. This is awesome stuff and the kids love it!!
- My son likes this toy very much. He can not only make castles with molds but also make little snowman and house by his little hands. This toy is really fun but somehow messy. However after give him some instructions, my son can handle it well.
- I got despite what other have said about it being too messy, the stuff sticks to clothes, not enough sand, and what have you. Its my son, and you only can be a kid one time in life. My parents really never got much of what I really wanted and I wont be doing that with my boy. He wanted it, I got it for him, and he loves it. Every day I get to hear him yell out "ITS MOON SAND TIME!" and I get to go up in the living room and play with him. Yes they dont give enough sand with the product, BUT, there is nothing to stop you from buying more, which I did, and happy I did. YES it gets all over the place, its sand, nothing a broom wont clean up. Just seeing my boys face when we play with it for hours at a time, its well worth any mess he may make, the price I paid for this, more sand, and shape makers. Hes my Boy, my child, Id do anything for him. Id much rather see him playing with this then playing a video game, or watching Sponge Bob ;)
For those who say their child lost interest in it. Spend time and play with them. Im 37 and I have a blast making stuff with him, and then smashing it all down to yet build it again. Its not just a toy, or activity to keep your child out of your way as you do your thing, but its a toy for the both of you to play, make shapes, or what have you, and bond with your child as you watch him learn and be happy.
He has had his for 2 months now, and loves to play with it on his own, and loves it even more when I play with him.
And NO it doesnt stick to clothes or carpet, I have no idea as to why one even said that at all below. Just get it and play with your child, it really is a blast!

- My son loves to play with the playdoh but he gets bored with the tools so quickly. I would have preferred less playdoh tubs and more tools.
- I bought this for my toddler, as her first introduction to Play-Doh. This set was a big hit and she asks to play with it all the time. It has four colors (blue, yellow, red and green) and a good variety of tools. I love that it comes with a zippered bag to store everything in and it even has a handle to make it easy to take with you. A great value - highly recommended!
- This was the first Play Doh I ever purchased for my daughter (2 yrs. old). The tools are fun. She absolutely loves the scissors. Having all of it in its own case is great! Makes for a very easy clean up and is also a breeze to take it with us to grandma's. I am shocked at the price here on Amazon (39.99). I got it at a department store for $15. That was not a sale price...it was the regular price.
- I bought this for my daughter when she was 19 months and she absolutely loves it ever since. Tools and extras make it fun to do "projects" together. The only minus is that this playdoh is better for cookie-cutting type projects, but doesn't sculpt well (pieces don't stick together)

- My daughter's friend got this set for her birthday. I was amazed at the range of colors, and so were the kids. They all dug right in and started playing. My favorite was the unique black play-doh, which I assume is for goth children.
- Lasts a while, but not so good at making things. The colors run together if you press too hard.
- I would have bought this item, but the shipping ($5.53) was almost as much as the item itself ($5.99). Thanks, but no thanks. I'll go to a competitor. Weird thing is -- other Play-Doh items are listed with FREE shipping!
- The Playdoh arrived in time, without incident, and was in great shape. The whole process went very smoothly.
- When I visited my granddaughters in Australia last year for their birthdays, I made room in my suitcase for this Play-Doh Case of Colors. I intended it for party favors, but one rainy afternoon when Mom was working and my son was busy in the kitchen I decided to get it out for the girls.
At four and six years old, they're Play-Doh veterans and have a crate of little accessories to help with the fun. They were soon deep in the creative process, chatting all the while.
Drawing and modeling are windows into a child's imagination. I was delighted with their spotted dogs, bright birds, little families in wearable-art clothing, and many items that truly defied categorizing. Their stories and conversation were even more charming. The little two-ounce tubs encouraged sharing and planning. What a happy memory for me!
At the end of the afternoon the Play-Doh was sorted by color and packed back into the tubs, to be used again but never in its pristine state. There's something about brand-new Play-Doh, isn't there?
It may have seemed silly to haul Play-Doh halfway around the world to a household that's the world capital of children's art supplies, but I'm glad I did -- and my granddaughters were glad too. I'm a true fan of the Play-Doh Case of Colors.

5 comments about Play-Doh® Super Craft Caddy.
- Hours of amusement for toddlers and little kids alike! I bought this caddy after I learned it was on sale and I'm so glad I did! My 5yr old broke his foot not long ago and he has been very limited with what he can do. I looked for all sorts of activites that would keep him entertained yet still while his foot healed and Play-Doh always comes through!! This caddy-all-in-one activity center not only comes with cans of play-doh, but it comes with all sorts of tools that boys and girls alike will enjoy. The play mat isn't as big as I thought it would be but it does make for easy clean-up. It's woth the $10 bucks I spent on it and at that price you can buy one for a gift. It's also a great starter kit for those of you with little ones experimenting with play-doh for the first time. Great Buy!
- My daughter loves this caddy and really enjoys playing with playdoh ( she's 3 ). It has a lot of cool tools like scissors and a pizza cutter that are very toddler friendly. I think the caddy center island needed to be a bit bigger. We have other play doh sets and it doesn't all fit in the caddy.
- We have wonderful times playing with the Play doh Super Craft Caddie set
.... from my three year old, to my ten year old all the way up to us the parents.
Recomend it for the entier family; we were playing for quite a long time the first time we recieved it and still find new ways to play with it.
- My kids love playdough. The only problem is that it dries out very quickly if they forget to put the tops back on the tubs, which they do frequently. However, I love the ability to organize the toys in the caddy. I also love the mat that comes with it, it is durable and easy to clean. There are a lot of playdough toys that comes with this. They are also good to mold moon sand with.
- good toy...my 2 year old has a lot of fun with this (with adult supervision). The roller and other gadgets really work on her motor skills.

4 comments about Play-Doh Octopus Playset.
- My son just received this for his 4th birthday. It comes with 4 full size tubs of playdoh, lots of tools and molds for making different sea creatures. The octopus' hat comes out and acts as a plunger for pushing the playdoh down and out the front to create different creatures (turtle, octopus, etc.). This is bit too hard for my son to do so he needs help pushing the playdoh thru. There is also a "flip the fish" game built in. This is a nice added feature. Basically you make a fish with the included mold press and then put the fish on the octopus' arm and flip it in the air. My son thinks this is so funny and tries to see how far he can fling the fish (watch out!). There is plenty to do with this set and should keep any little one busy for a good amount of time.
- Play-Doh Octopus Playset
The octopus of play-doh is a toy that my son had wanted for some time but back in my country was not secured, thanks to God what I could buy at the wonderful amazon, and an economical price, I bought for gift birthday of my son and I never imagined would come so fast in my house that surprised me very speedy delivery! Product 100% recommended, too good!
- We recently purchased this toy for my 3 and 4 year olds. What a disappointment. After weeks of asking for this toy, we bought it only to find it so un-user friendly, my children gave up after 10 minutes with it. It's very difficult to push the playdoh far enough down to squish it out of the bottom and then when you do you have to find something small enough to dig out the rest of the playdoh since the plunger doesn't completely push it out. No attachment that comes with it is small enough to "dig out" the rest so a nearby pen or knife comes in handy. Boy, that's safe! Save your money and buy something else or just get the playdoh and have them use their imagination. You'll be less frustrated.
- It's a lot of fun to play with, and my three year old loves playing with it, but, MAN, is it hard to clean. Whoever designed the thing ought to be put in time out.
Basically, the play-doh is shoved down the top of the octopus and comes out at a right angle at the bottom. This works pretty well (but it's a little hard for the little one). When he's all done though, there is inevitably play-doh gets stuck in the bottom of the tube. The tube itself is too long to push the play-doh through with your finger, and the right angle makes it so that, even if you do force it down, you have to some how push it out the front. The weirdest thing is, there isn't a device (even the classic play-doh knife) that comes with it, that you can use to dig it out. And even using the classic knife is difficult. I use a combination of play-doh tools, with just a touch of cursing, and that seems to work.
So, buyer beware, it's fun, but tough to clean.
He does love the lobster scissors though, and carries them with him in his pocket all the time.

5 comments about Play-Doh Creativity Center.
- I really REALLY love this play-doh item. It's a great activity center and table that my sons love to play with and on. It even gets better since the top comes off and you can store a lot of play-doh items inside. It's great to be able to store everything in one convenience spot. It's also very portable and easily stores in the trunk of my car for trips. The only problem I have with this item is that the work center only allows for it to be knelt in front of and cannot be used as a laptop work center (which would have made it perfect for travelling). The bottom of the table only has a niche carved out instead of a passageway for legs but then I guess this would have cut down on storage space. I am not complaining (too much). I recommend this item to keep on top of your kid's play-doh and keeps them entertained too!
- My 4-year-old daughter loved it. It brings a lot of stuff to play with, but for children who have lots of play-doh toys, it has the extra space to store these also. Tidy, neat, excellent!
- My 5 year old son recieved the Play-Doh Creativity Center for Christmas and he LOVES it! We played with it for 2 hours today and only stopped because we were hungry. It has great molds and we love the little removable play sheet that allows you to make faces and other things. It also comes with a good amount of play-doh colors.
I highly recommend this toy, especially if your child enjoys making things with his/her hands. Also, it's a lot of fun for Mom and Dad, too! I felt like I was 5 again!
By the way, to sweeten the deal, get the 50 color pack of Play-Doh to go with the Creativity Center.
- My six year old got the Creativity Center for Christmas and he loves it. The tray can hold a lot of play-doh. We bought extra cans and there was plenty of room to hold them all.
- Bought this as a Christmas gift for our niece and nephew, 5 and 4 years old. They loved it. I loved it. My husband loved it. Their mom loved it. It was ready to go the second we got it out of the box.
The little play tools are fun - big hits with the younger set were the ability to grow and cut "hair" from a small plastic head, the many colors of dough included with the set, and all the little rolling pins and cutouts available. These things were fun for us, as well, but possibly the best toy from the adult point of view was the small piece of plastic, shaped like a kind of meat pounder, that is flat on the bottom and allows one to easily pick up small pieces of playdoh from flat surfaces. Its like a playdoh magnet. Very cool.

5 comments about Martian Matter Alien Maker Playset.
- I consulted wife my wife and 6 year old son on this one. My wife said that it's well designed, they can make different color martians by mixing different color fluids, and the toy works well. I don't really get the appeal, but my son really liked it, and I guess that's what matters.
- I live near Nashville TN and they were airing a commercial for this product on some cartoon channel. I searched everywhere even EBAY with no luck or too high. Found it on Amazon at a super price. Got it fast and my 2 grandsons Haden and Gavin are still lovin' makin' aliens evertime they visit Nana Mona. Better than I thought it would be. Neat to store it all away. No heat required.
- I think the product is a bit expensive but it is fun and not as messy as you might think. It took us a couple of practices to get the martians just right but now that we have the hang of it my 4 year old can do it. I like it because it is easy but the kids love it.
- My niece wanted this for her birthday, but no one was able to find it. I love such "missions" and not only found the toy, but founf a much better deal at the manufacturers website. I was able to get the main toy plus 5 refills for about $45 (including tax and shipping)! With a discount code I found on another site, this turned out to be a great deal and my family fulfilled her birthday wish :)
- My son absolutely loves this! We recently moved to our house, and he didn't know many of the other kids on the street. He used the Martian Matter Alien Maker outside one afternoon, and it piqued the interest of several of the neighborhood kids. Soon, they were all joining in and making their own aliens! For us, it was a great icebreaker! There's minimal mess, and the kids love making their own weird little alien combinations. Every other day I hear, "MOM,puh-leeze can I make an alien??" Two thumbs up!
