- We love this ball for all of our children (one has special needs). The classical music is lovely, the activity is fun for solo or many, and the questions easy for little ones. The on/off/volume switch is a plus. Easy to surface clean. Just wish I had known there was an "expansion cartridge" when we purchased it, so we could've gotten that at the same time, too. Love it!

2 comments about Neurosmith: Phonics Tiles Word Challenge Expansion Set.
- First off, I want to let you know that you need to have the Phonics mat for this product to work. This product is an accessory and will not work on its own. A lot of you may know that already, but it isn't made very clear in the item description and I wanted unknowing people to avoid making a mistake!
I rate this toy as 1 star for durableness because this company is no longer in business. Once this toy is gone or broken, it can not be replaced. For all I know, this toy may last forever. Hopefully, it will.
- My nephew was given this mat for his birthday and have given me rave reviews each time I see him, as have his parents. He was a struggling reader in first grade, and reluctant because of his difficulties. He has proudly shown me his ability to make words using this toy, and regularly experiments by making new words, adding to his vocabularly as he is ready to do so. His mother reports that he also uses it to study his weekly spelling tests.
The mat pronounces words that are spelled into the mat using the tiles. It is remarkably accurate in its pronounciation, with a very pleasant voice. This toy won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Toy Award, from what I've read and also holds my humble endorsement.

This is an excellent toy for smart babies. Smart and intelligent babies loves this toy. Highly recommend.
"It nurtures a childs developing mind, encouraging them to explore, experiment, create and relate"
"Four touch-activated classical favorites by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Handel & Prokoviev" Classical music in a toy is always a plus! Music helps developing brains."
"6-Minute continuous-play lullaby to soothe baby to sleep."
"Two modes of play, high-quality sound, volume control and a sparkling light show"
Plus: "Four fun tactile activities: crinikle, squeak, beads and teether."
- Neurosmith makes the best toys. My seven month old just loved it. It definitely keeps her entertained for hours. The music is just fabulous and it's educational. The toy also works with motor skills. We also bought the cube for a Christmas present. Thank you Neurosmith.
From a happy mom in Shreveport,LA.
- This was my son's favorite toy from 3-8 months. It was the only thing that would draw his attention for a substantial amount of time. The music not "tinny" or midi-sounding. Great product!
- I think this is one of the best toys out there and worth every penny that the expensive toy stores sell for. I was thrilled when I saw it on Amazon for much less. It plays classical music from several composers and the music doesn't sound like that clanky music box variety. It sounds like it's coming out of my iPod. My 6 month old has figured out that you have to touch the face to get it to play the music. This toy peaks her interest more than the other toys I have purchased for in the past months.
- My daughter is only two months old and already loves the Sunshine Symphony. The cheery face, colorful lights, and fun tunes make this a great purchase for any little one!

- We've had this toy for around 3 years now. My second child loves playing with it as much as my firstborn! It is also a hit with other children visiting our house. The toy is as educational as it is fun! We've used it to practice colors, shapes, and musical creativity. It can get a little pricey as the cartridges to expand the set run ~$20 new. All in all a FANTASTIC toy well worth the price! Another upside is how friendly and helpful the Neurosmith company is. We lost a block and they were friendly and helpful with the replacement.
My friend finally broke down and bought this for her 2 kids because they also loved it so much!
- With three children in our household, we've seen our share of good and back educational toys. This one is one of the best, particularly for households that want to promote musical affinity. It provides endless combinations of choices depending on where the child places the cube. It also gives three different "styles" of music: jazzy, classical and funk. The only reservation I have is that it may be a little to difficult for babies less than 1 year old.
- My only complaint was the box the actual item came in (not the exterior box) was in bad shape - extra tape stuck on, and slightly crushed. This was purchased for a gift, so it was particularly annoying.
- This toy has been around for quite a few years and has been through several design changes. All the models before the latest one accepted the various cartridges. This one does not. There is a switch that lets you change between three music styles. Amazon still hasn't caught on to this and is featuring a cartridge with the machine in it's "better together" promo. If you want a machine that accepts cartridges you will have to buy an old one off of EBAY. That's what I did after I bought a bunch of cartridges and then bought the new machine and found out they wouldn't work in it.
- This item is the best electronic toy ever made for toddlers. It combines a sophisticated response with simple physicality (the child handles the block s and puts them down freely on the footprints) to make a delightful experience.

- My 9 month old plays with this product and really enjoys it! The sounds are fun (songs). It provides interesting ways for baby to explore. As my baby grows, this toy will help her develop motor skills like working snaps, zippers, buttons, etc. She is working some of those things even now! She loves to stand at it and it is very safe (soft cloth and no sharp edges).
This is a terrific learning tool and will keep baby;s attention for long periods of time!
- We got this as a gift at my baby shower and my daughter started using it around 6 months. She used it to help her start pulling up and feeling all the different sides. By nine months she was standing (with its help) and playing. She is almost 2 now and still loves it. It comes with a cartridge that changes the songs and makes it more interactive- like singing head, shoulders, knees and toes, as she does the dance, or doing jumping jacks. I can see that she will be using this toy for a long time to come. This is the only toy that has made that long haul from infancy well into toddlerhood. For the price, it is a great buy! She was singing along with the songs around age one and it helped her learn her shapes too!
- I got carried away and purchased this for my daughter's first birthday. Two months later, it's already taking up room in the garage. She loves music, but this just wasn't that interesting to her. She spends a lot more time with her LeapFrog LeapStartĀ® Learning Table. I think she'd like this more if the songs were longer. Also, it seems difficult to reactivate -- you have to turn the cube to a different side to hear another song, so you can't easily re-hear the same song. Does that make sense?
- Assists with standing, balance, and dexterity. The combination of activities and music make this a perfect playstation for kids before and after they start walking.

5 comments about Music Blocks - Neurosmith - NEW MODEL for 2007.
- I received this toy as a baby shower gift, and we introduced it to my daughter when she was just 6 months old while she did "tummy time." She really enjoyed listening to the music and watching the lights on the front of the toy, even though she was too young to really use it. As she gets older, I anticipate that she will begin to use it herself and continue to enjoy it.
- My children are 2 and 3 years old and love to sing and dance. They love all things musical. However, they lost interest in this pretty soon. I suspect they will like it better when they are older. I enjoy playing with it. I think it is quite clever. But if the kids don't play with it, then what's the point? My kids threw the blocks around and danced to the music when we first got it but now they don't seem to care about this toy.
- Well ours worked for about 10 seconds and that was it. Called the number provided BY Neurosmith and it has been disconnected.....sent an email to the customer care line....returned. And there is NO Neurosmith web site either. Thank goodness Amazon is accomadating...or I'd be stuck with a crummy toy.
- We have owned this for two years and love it!!! However, Neuromith stopped making these products (hence, the low, low price) and cartridges. So, if you want a cheap toy, great. But you'll get no support from the company. Unfortunate, because they really did have a wonderful line of toys!
- We have both the older and newer version. While the newer version is okay, we really enjoy the older version because of the music choices. The older version takes the cartridges and you can switch out types of music to some really neat choices, from surf music to world music to mary poppins. The newer version (2007) has 3 music selection, which just wasn't enough for us for long term, but good for getting our two year old started and distracted while our 4 year old played with the older version. We also found the newer model did not have as good sound quality as the older version. Overall, however, the product was fun and educational, and so for, indestructible. (-:

5 comments about Small World Toys Together Tunes Block.
- My son who is now 20 months has been playing with this toy since he could pull up on it to stand. He loves all the different activities on the sides of the block and knows all he has to do to get the nursery rhymes started is tap on it. If you sit with your child and play with this block, it's great fun. My son loves the side with Pop Goes the Weasel. When I make the weasel pop out, he helps me push the weasel back in so we can make him pop out again. This is one of our favorite toys to play with together.
- My daughter who is now 2yrs old has been playing with this toy since she was about 9 months old. She didn't really use it to it's full potential at first, but as she has grown she has continued to discover new and exciting things and it is still one of her favorite toys. She knows all the songs and knows how to move to the next verse. Unlike other toys that she has abandoned as she has grown older, this one seems to get better as she get older. I debated about spending so much money for a toy, but so far it's the best money I've spent for a toy.
- I've dropped a fair amount of money on toys for my son and this is the best money I've spent on a toy for him. He enjoys it immensely and never grows tired of it. It's soft, but solid and the volume level is fairly loud, but not obnoxious.
- I bought this same product about 4 years ago for my son who is now almost 5. He loved it and played with it so much that I just bought one for my neice as a Christmas gift. I am expecting twin girls and I can guarentee that I will be purchasing another one soon!!!!!
- I've given Together Tunes as an infant gift four or five times now, and am sad to learn that Neurosmith has gone out of business. Have received lavish praise from parents because their children love it, especially after the babies can stand unsupported. I awarded the box only four stars because it does not come with batteries already inside, unless there has been a recent change in policy. The price of the box, alas, has gone up and up.
