5 comments about Little Tikes Swing Along Castle.
  1. My granddaughter loves this little persons, she's 9 months old, play set. What a great picture I took of her while in the swing. A smile from ear to ear. Thanks for the memories !

  2. We got this for our son's 1st birthday. It really does not seem too sturdy. It wobbles back and forth and the swing does not really have a big span. He loves the slide and standing on top of it, but that is it. Not worth $120.

  3. I bought this for my daugher when she was about 15 months. Since we live in a townhouse without a lot of outdoor space, it was perfect; although originally intended for our patio, we kept it inside. The other reviewers are correct, the swing is only good until about 2 1/2 years, depending on your child's height. However, I removed the swing and she still uses the slide (she is almost four). I had no problems putting it together, with sturdiness, or with missing parts. I wish the swing lasted longer, but I guess it was designed with smaller children in mind and it may not have fit in my house. The only unfortunate part is that I have to convince my daughter that we must get rid of the slide so Santa will have space for new toys.

  4. We have had this toy for about 3 years. It was a gift from my Mother for my son who was 8-1/2 months old at the time. The slide is great, my son never had problem climbing and sliding over and over. BUT the seat of the swing broke after a short time where the screws are. I ended up just taking the swing portion off. What we were left with was the Little Tikes Climb & Slide Castle which is cheaper to buy and takes up less room. Save some money and buy that one insted of this one.

  5. OK, they need to curve the end of the slide. My kiddo either lands on his feet because the slide is so steep and short and straight, then pops onto his face because of the speed the rest of his body is still moving at, or goes down the slide with his feet up and slams straight onto his butt. This is fine if you have a slippery padded gym mat under it, but not so great on carpet or wood or even grass. And I'm not sure how great that is for the babies long term to jolt that much shock through their spines if they are playing with this often (which you'd hope at this price).

The swing looks good but only swings backwards. It does move forward and backward, but if you are in front of you child pushing him, it really only swings from the straight position to the back and back to the center position, because of the way the metal bars are bent. You can PULL them forward, but just pushing them it doesn't work that way. Plus the seat is so upright that when they sit in it, it automatically swings back a bit (makes it easy for them to stand out of it when they are unbuckled) -- so it's not the easiest to buckle them in, and they end up sitting uncomfortably after swinging a while. Sorry I"m not explaing this well but I would try this out at a brick and mortar shop before ordering it to see if it's really what you think you are getting.

Yes, there is space to crawl underneath but it is really small. And if they crawl out one side, they'll run into the swing. The steering wheel (on a castle?? this is not a ship!!) seems to be fun to them, and the telescope seems to hold some interest (tilts and rotates), but those alone aren't worth the $$ and floor space.

My toddler loves swings, loves slides, but not this one. You'd think Little Tikes has so much experience making these kinds of toys they would have perfected it by now, but this is really a step backwards for them. For a younger toddler, you have to be there all the time within arms' reach. For older toddlers, the swing is stupid and the rest of it boring.

  1. My daughter is just learning to play soccer (age 2) and this is a good intro. It came with little cones to practice drills, but she's not interested yet. The ball is just the right size.

  2. We picked this one because it was the only small one that was not plastic. It still is not extremely sturdy but I am confident it will last the time we need it to. The only real complaint I have is that it was supposed to come with a needle with the pump to blow up the ball and this was absent in ours. My son did complain that he needed 2 goals to play soccer, but otherwise it is a hit.

4 comments about Builder's Bay Sand & Water Table.
  1. We purchased this toy this spring and it has been quite popular with my 2 and 4 year olds. However, after less than 4 months outside, it is showing some signs of wear. The elastics that hold the top panels on when it isn't being used are totally stretched out and don't hold the top on. The table fills up with water each time it rains (big mess!). The umbrella is pretty flimsy and has to be stored inside or it blows away with a little wind.

The kids really make a mess with this and never did keep water on one side and sand on the other. If you are the kind of parent who likes order, this toy will drive you crazy as the kids will constantly mix water with sand and sand with water. The crane isn't all that fun and just gets in the way. Overall, the kiddos like it, but it is a bit pricey for what you actually get.

  2. First, we were a bit disappointed when this table arrived at our front door with the box wide open. I had to quickly get the kids away from the door so they didn't see what they were getting for Christmas--so I could inspect the box to be sure all parts were safely tucked inside. Satisfied that they were, I tried putting the table together. The instructions state that a hand-held screwdriver is necessary to bore pilot holes--through 2 to 3 layers of moderately thick plastic--and insert screws in said holes. I'm not He-man, nor is my dh (who is a fairly strong and healthy handyman for one of his trades), so a screwgun is HIGHLY recommended. And a strong arm, as well, as it's hard to bore through all that plastic to create your own holes to attach the legs to the table. Once done, the table seems very sturdy, and it's REALLY cute. I think it will be used a lot when it finally warms outside, but for now, it's sitting yet unused. This is a very different sandbox from any others I have seen, and I expect it to be used a lot this upcoming spring.

  3. This was a great toy when my son was 20 months old and just able to stand at the box and play. Now that he is 2 and 1/2, he wants to sit in it and demolish his sand art. I was so excited to get this home and have my son experience a unique water table & sand box. He loves to play in the water. Unfortunately, we now leave the water side dry. He started dumping sand (and anything else he could find...flowers, rocks, dirt) into the water. After about 5 minutes of play the water is murky and has to be drained/refilled. Currently, we have it on our covered back patio. Therefore, there is sand all over the patio too. The elastic ties had degraded in about two months (a lot of things cannot take the Arizona heat). He still has difficulty operating the crane arm. Overall, it is a cute sandbox, but I think it is best for small children. If I had to buy a sandbox again it would be one that is large and sits on the ground.

  4. I bought this a year ago. It is expensive and i expected better quaility for the price. Ties are not holding the lids on so it fills with water and it gets funky sand. The crain broke (the coolest part) last year about 4 months after purchase. There is also not a whole lot you can do with the way its set up. No room for sand castles but more room for a nasty sand mote which happends every time it rains. I would not recommend this product.

5 comments about Little Tikes Adjust & Jam Basketball Set.
  1. My two year old son loves his basketball goal! It is the perfect size, and since it adjusts easily (not like other brands), I can make it taller as he grows. We had another basketball goal, but it was junk. This stays where you adjust it; it adjusts easily; and the net stays. The ball that comes with it is also a great size.
I know this is not an "educational" toy, but I feel strongly that use of large motor skills and hand/eye skills are also a necessary part of education. My two year old is jumping, bouncing the ball, and shooting the ball. I am glad we made this purchase; it was a great buy!

  2. I bought this for my 19 month old grandson. He loves learning to shoot baskets. It's great because the height of the basket is adjustable. Because of the cold temperatures, we are using inside until spring. It is not too big for the family room or basement.

  3. I purchase this for my toddler son who is 2 and enjoy playing sport. The product itself, I would consider durable. While I was adjusting the height of the hoop one time, I accidentally step on the base. I was so scare it was going to be dent or get damage, however it pops right back up and back to normal shape(don't stand on the base too long though because I jump right back off the base when I realize what I could have done). What a relief?! Because it was the first day we have it too.

There aren't much I would complain about this item, except the net itself. It keeps falling off the rim's edges that one is to loop part of the net through. That is the only annoying part. On the first day, I had to reloop the net to the rim more than 5 times. I'm still looking for a solution to hold the net in place so I don't have to keep relooping it to the rim. My fingers are hurting. Other than that I would recommend this product since it will grow with the child.

  4. .
The set of 2-year-old twin boys have a lot of fun with this. It is at the lowest setting, but they get a thrill when they get the ball through the hoop.

It is easy to set up and show the children how to play. At 2, they don't get much, but the ideas are there. I taught my 7-year-old niece how to make baskets when it was fully extended, and before that day she had made zero, from that point on she rarely missed.

It gives the children a real sense of accomplishment, and definitely elevates their self pride. If you have small people in your family, this is a small investment for a big return.

    Well worth 5 stars.

    Victoria Tarrani

  5. We just bought this for my son for his 4th birthday. He has so much fun with it, however the net will not stay on. It is beyond frustrating as I have to keep looping it back through. This product would have got 5 stars, if not for the flimsy net.

5 comments about Little Tikes Shopping Cart.
  1. Daughter loves this shopping cart. There is room to fit a doll in the front and plenty of "groceries" in the cart. I was suprised that the cart was actually different colors than the photo, ours has a blue cart, white handle, and green wheels. Assembly is required and was challenging trying to put together with an excited toddler present.

  2. This shopping cart is definitely worth the money. I had purchased a cheap one, and it was just that! It was wobbly and light, so my daughter would fall when she was pushing it. The Little Tikes shopping cart is sturdy and will certainly be around for many years.

  3. This toy shopping cart is terrific! My grandchildren love it. They enjoy playing shopping with their pretend food and carting around anything else that will fit in the cart. It was easy to put together and is very sturdy. I've purchased two so far and I am probably going to purchase another one for an upcoming birthday.

  4. I bought this shopping cart for my grand-daughter's 3rd birthday. She loved it! A big plus too...it is made in USA! Seems to be very durable; dolls and stuffed animals fit easily in seat; good size for younger toddlers up to older pre-schoolers.

  5. I read others' reviews online before I purchased one for my baby daughter who is 15 months old. She loves it very much, puts her toys in the basket, and pushes and drags the shopping cart every day. It is durable and safe, also good for baby to do exercise on walking. I recommend to other parents.

5 comments about Little Tikes Patrol Car.
  1. This is a fun toy for a 2-3 year old child. It is operated completely with the feet (both for propulsion and steering) pushing on the ground/floor. The unit is well made but took 30-45 minutes to assemble.

  2. A little tough to put together, but once it is assembled, your child will have a great time opening, closing and riding on this toy! My child loves to push it, and pretend he is me putting things in the car then riding away.

  3. I purchased this product for my son's birthday. He loves it (and so does his four year old sister!!)! My only complaint is the stickers....they are already peeling and we have only had it for a few weeks. The stickers that are supposed to be on the curved surfaces continually bubble and peel up. Other than that the toy is great!!

  4. I like these just as something different than the regular Little Tikes cars one sees everywhere. My son (3 yrs.) and I had fun putting it together and there was nothing overly challenging or time consuming if one has done this sort of thing before. Instructions are decent, no parts were missing. I can see how the decals may fall off in time as I've encountered similar situations before-it's just hard to get some decals to stay stuck to smooth plastic.

I think the "microphone" is disappointing as it's not loud enough for outdoors. My son stopped bothering with it after a couple of sessions. Lastly, I would have been happy to pay more if the lights on the roof actually lit up.

Overall though, a snappy looking, durable and fun car for your little Chief to have fun in.

  5. This is the best toy we have bought our 2 year old grandson. He has gotten more enjoyment out of his "Police Car" than any other toy we have purchased. It is small enough to ride around the inside of the house and just the right size for a little one. Granted Nanny and Paps have gotten a lot of tickets but they are worth every penny we spent on the "Police Car".

5 comments about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe.
  1. We bought this for our almost 2 year old. He loves it, which is why I was hoping it would be more durable. My husband had to drill some of the parts to make them fit together and the door will NOT stay on no matter what we do. It's fallen off probably no less than 30 times and he just got it this morning. The workmanship could be better, but other than that, it is a fun toy.

  2. My daughter loves this toy, and it allows my other two kids (who are older than her) to play with the baby! They push her around the house, and the baby loves being able to "play" with the big kids. My youngest sister had a Cozy Coupe fifteen years ago and loved it. I was happy to still be able to find it for my kids. Very study, handles running into walls and going off curbs! Very durable. Love it!!!!!!

  3. My husband ordered this car because our daughter never gets a chance to try it out at playgroup. When she saw it her eyes lit up like Christmas trees & she couldn't wait for us to put it together. It was relatively simple to do & didn't require a lot of tools. She was 12 months when she started playing with it & she's 18 months now & still going strong. It moves nicely on carpet as well as the wood floors. She moves it herself or recruits us or her teenage brother to push her around fast.

  4. I bought 2 of these for my 2 kids for christmas (20 months and 3 1/2) my husband and i were really excited cause they were the big santa gift. We bought them plastic license plates with their names on them. We waited ti; 2 nights before christmas to put these together because we didn't have a place to hide 2 of these. Good thing we didn't wait til christmas eve like we were planning (i was paranoid they might be missing a piece) Well, they weren't missing any pieces. the first one took my husband and i, (together) over an hour to put together. The instructions are the worst thing i'd ever seen. There are NO words and you can't even understand the pictures; They skip steps and expect you to know what to do. After we finally got through the first we were ready to tackle the second. Well, it was faster. 15 minutes in we were on like the second to last step, and two of the pieces would not fit together. We tried everything. Frustrated, I woke up at 6am christmas eve morn to go to walmart to exchange. Guess what, i had the exact same problem. Returned again, and they were out. Went to toysrus and the SAME THING. Okay now i'm peeved. (my husband had been from square one) then finally got another and it worked. My daughter is actually almost too big for it (ages go up to 5) shes 3 1/2 and small for her age. hers doesn't get any use and my son will sit in it and turn the wheel, but not move his feet because they get stuck under his seat. i bought them the matching gas pump and my son loves to put gas in his and his sisters car, but still they never actually get 'driven.'

  5. My 2 year old loves this toy. It is used everytime we go outside. We actually kept it in the house for the first 6 months becuase it was cold. The only complaints I have about this toy is that the steering wheel comes unattached very easily (needed better engineering) and the sticker decorations are easily pulled off. This ride on is always a favorite of all the 2 and 3 year old friends that come to visit.

5 comments about Little Tikes Climb & Slide Castle.
  1. My twins walk up and down the slide to my dismay. There is little to hold them on the slide on the way down and the windows allow my son to climb ontop of the slide. Fun for them - not so fun for me...

  2. I wanted to get a climber for in the house during the cold months, this one seemed to be the most compact and would easily fit into my smaller living room without taking up a huge amount of space. This really did fit the bill, as climbers go, my 20 month old son and my 3 1/2 year old daughter love to play on it. It is the first thing they run to when they come down the stairs in the morning, and we have had it for about 5 months now.

I love the Little Tikes brand, usually they are very sturdy and long lasting, but I do have to say that as sturdy as thier climbers are, this particular model is the worst. I mean it isn't going to fall apart on you or anything, but it doesn't snap/fit together like the other climers do. It has plastic screws that need to be tightened all of the time. (Little Tikes included a tool for this with my climber) It will not fall apart, and isn't dangerous, it is just kind of annoying when it gets loose and wobbly. If you have the room and can find the climber with the house on it instead (I have this one too) it is a lot more sturdy, has a really cool mail slot etc., but it does take up a bunch more room.

  3. We have had this Climb and Slide Castle for almost 3 1/2years now.

It is still in GREAT shape! It has lasted through my near 2yr old and near 4 yr old as well as a few older nieces and nephews that surely exceeded the wieght limit.

My son got this toy when he was about 8-1/2months old and never had troubles climbing and sliding as long as he was in bare feet. It can be quite slippery to climb if your child is wearing socks.

My son is 4yrs old in 2 weeks and he's quite too big to really have any fun on it and has been too big for a while.

Maybe the age recommendations should be from 12 months - 36 months?

  4. Jeez, the slide is steep, and short. My son practically lands on his feet, then the momentum of coming down that fast nearly sends him onto his face. The should have curved the slide at the end to shoot them out onto their bottoms instead of straight onto their feet if they wanted to make it so steep.

  5. My 1 1/2 yr old daughter loves playing on the slides at daycare, so of course I had to get one for home. Very easy to assemble...The instructions say 10 mins and it took me 10mins...I dont think it is very sturdy, but it is sturdy enough for a 1 yr old and not a 4 yr old...I feel like the age group should be 1-2 b/c I can definitely see how a 3 or 4 yr old could easily hurt themselves by tiping it over. The rock steps were diffcult for my daughter for like 2 seconds even though I would prefer regular steps. The rock steps definitely requires her to use her upper arm strength. Overall, it was a good choice and I would recommend it to friends with 1-2 yr olds.

5 comments about Little Tikes TotSports T-Ball Set.
  1. My daughter received this toy for here Birthday in May. We have been having load of fun with it ever since. This toy has greatly improved her hand eye coordination as well as her throwing accuracy. (which I am not sure is a good thing yet) She feels a real sense of accomplishment when she hits the ball well and it does help use up some of that " I am Four and have endless energy". Great toy that keeps her attention!

  2. My 3 1/2 year old son loves the bat. The balls are very light and easy to dent if you hit them hard, so this is really meant for children, not adults. The balls don't stay on the blue stand very well, but the red ball holder works well.

  3. This a great toddler t-ball set. My 2 year old son loves it! My only complaint is that it only comes with 2 balls and replacement balls are hard to come by (We lost one and my dog ate the other). Little Tykes sells them directly for $1 each and a $6.95 shipping charge, plus a $10 surcharge if you order more than one. Crazy! So we wound up getting wiffle type replacement balls. Still a great, fun toy!

  4. It's a great product, but I only have one suggestion... make it more durable for kids who are a little older (my son is 4), and who are a little stronger. My son knocks over the t-ball stand quite easily, as he has quite a swing. Despite that, he still plays with it and has had a lot of fun.

  5. My Son got this for his 1st birthday and he has played with it constantly ever since! He's almost 2 and it's still his favorite toy. It is much better than the other T-Ball sets he has played with because the bat actually has weight to it. The bats at his grandparent's house are so light he can carelessly hit the balls into everyone and everything; but with the heavy bat in this set, he needs to use proper form with both hands on the bat, which makes it much more controlled. My only minor complaint is that the box advertizes height adjustable, but the only adjustment is unscrewing the T from the base to change the height an inch or less. All in all, WE LOVE THIS T-BALL and we would definitely get this set again!

  1. From my 2 year old toddler and 9 year old boy, to my husbands 22 year old co- worker, this toy is addicting. Its bright colors attract anyones eye to it. The hoop isnt too big or intimidating for any young child to use. The hoop adjust high enough for children up to 10 years old to enjoy. Its highly durable and stands up straight. Its a water fill base and our base had no leaks and seemed to hold the water just fine. The net was easy to install and has lasted a very long time. The ball that comes with it is highly durable as well and light weight enough our toddler could easily shoot hoops with it.

  2. Easy to put together, good toy for children starting out with "hoops" at a year and a half. Short enough that they can actually get the ball into the hoop. We play with it every day.

  3. my toddler really likes this toy ...however i had to fill the base up with water cause if you dont that thing will fall apart everytime your kid makes a basket .But now that i filled it up i see my son tilting it over so obviously it is manageable .you have a choice to fill it with sand if you choose, which in essence is probabely heavier ,so your child may or may not be able to tilt it .However consider that when you are buying it .I have to be extra careful with my toddler and his ....good luck

  4. I purchased this for my grandson for his first birthday, he likes the ball so far, but he is still a bit young to actually get the ball in the hoop. His dad loves it though, so I am sure the little guy will have no problems learning from his daddy. I would definitely recommend this toy.

  5. solid little basketball set for toddler (my son is 13 months old and is just tall enough to dunk at the lowest setting). Love that it 'grows' with the kid as they lengthen. The hoop piece tends to loosen after several dunks; not sure if that's because I haven't stuffed it into the backboard with enough force.
