5 comments about i-Tattoo electronic tattoo pen.
  1. My 5 year old son really likes getting the airbrush tattoos at summer festivals and fairs, but they are so expensive. His aunt gave him this toy for Christmas, and he loves it. He can put the tattoos on himself and the stencils stick pretty good, so the tattoos turn out pretty good. I am worried about how often we will have to buy the refills, but they can't be any more expensive than the airbrush tattoo costs, and this keeps him busy as well.

  2. My [...] both took right to this tattoo "gun"... its easy enough to use. I haven't experienced the "mess" mentioned by other posters. We all got our tattoos right here in the house at the dining room table. All you do is put one of the provided thin tipped markers inside the tattooer, place a stencil on your arm and go.
The tattoo gun moves the marker back and forth just like a real needle, and the motor even sounds a bit realistic.
It would be nice if it came with a few extra markers, but the stencil assortment is very nice, if not overly tribal.

  3. We bought this for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas, she wanted the girly airbrush tatto maker but the reveiws were terrible, so we decided on this one. This was easy to put together and very easy to use. My 3 GIRLS loved tattooing each other. They "Tatted" my husband all up ...LOL LOL LOL... But the funny part was that the ink does not come off very well so he had to go to work for 2 days with the tattoos on all over his neck and arms LOL LOL...
We had ALOT of fun with this but beware the ink is semi permanent. :)

  4. We just bought this for our 7 year old nephew for Christmas. It was his favorite toy by far. Before, he was always asking us to draw tattoos on him with pen. Now he has his own tattoo gun. He gave everyone in the family their own tatoo on Christmas!...made for some good memories.... the only bad thing...it doesnt wash off that easily...so make sure your tattoo can be hidden :)

  5. My brother has a love for tattoos. One that is expressed by his profession and his body. His son, my nephew idolizes him to no end.

I purchased this toy for my nephew for his birthday and I was not disappointed. He loved it and with all the wonderful features of this tattoo pen, I have no fear of it injuring him or causing a big mess.

Him and his dad now share a love for giving each other tattoos.

  1. both kids love to play with the light bright and with it having sides they both can create at the sme time. its great. and pegs remain in drawer when not being used... awww thsy look adorable playing with it and come up with the kookiest ideas....

  2. 4 and 5 yo love the box approach since both can work different sides. Plenty of pegs, but limited number of templates. Recommend photocopying some templates before first use to avoid running out of sheets.

  3. I gave this as a gift to a 4 year old boy. He had played it before and wanted it and was very happy when he received it. It was nice that all 3 boys could play at the same time becuase they all had a side (with one extra side).

  4. Fun, but not as easy to put together as it appears. Not as sturdy as the one I had when I was little, but with 4 sides to create, much more fun!

  5. This is a great product. I can remember having a light brite as a child and not wanting to take apart my creation but wanting to do another. This allow the child to have four creations at a time. My 5 year old daughter loves is, her 12 year old brother has secretly liked "helping" her.

5 comments about Star Trek: Classic > Starship Enterprise 16-Inch Electronic Vehicle.
  1. I own other products in this line of toys/display models, and this one isn't the best of the lot. It's accuracy to the ship from the Original Star Trek show is good, but not great. In particular, the part of the dome just behind the Bridge on top of the saucer shape narrows to a point, but that is not how it appears in the show at all, and is a rather obvious flaw. Othereise, the model is near accurate, however there are other flaws: Noteably, the raised rings where the hull plating joins on the top of the saucer section are not there at all. In fact, this is totally smooth, almost completely lacking any detail at all.

Other than the above mentioned things, the accuracy of the ship seems pretty reasonable. However, there are some obvious faults in the hull where plastic is marred by some kind of...filler...or perhaps it is mold marks left behind by the production process. None of the other ships in this series have such flaws, so it's disappointing to see this, the original ship, marred by such poor production quality. The warp nacelles are another issue, there are obvious seams down the length of them where the plastic is joined together, and the ships registry number is printed over the seams. Problem is, at least on my model, there are slight gaps, and on the left nacelle, this caused the registry numbers to be misaligned between the top half of the nacelle and the bottom.

Now for the good: The lighting on this model is very nice. And unlike the other ships in the series, this has a very desireable feature: The lights can be set to stay on for display purposes. (No instructions tell how though, I found it by trial and error: Inside the battery compartment, you must first set the switch to normal mode, it comes set to 'try me' mode. Once you have the switch to normal mode, press and hold down the bridge, after about 4 seconds, the lights will turn on, and stay on until the bridge is depressed again). This is a great feature, and makes the model display very well. Just don't get to close, or you will notice the innacuracies and flaws.

Overall, for the price spent, this is a reasonably good display toy. It's not perfect though, and if you want perfection...well...you might wish to look elsewhere.

One last note: On durability, this is the first of the ships in this series I've found that seems to have an obvious weak point: The deflector dish seems poorly mounted, you might wish to be careful with it, it seems pretty fragile. Other than that, the model is far more durable than the old AMT/Ertle models you had to build yourself. So...if you want to indulge the child inside, feel free...just be careful with the deflector dish.

  2. This Enterprise fills me with a glee that cannot be expressed with words. All I need now are A, B, C, and D, and I'll have the complete set. Perhaps Voyager and Defiant will come in the future? Seriously, though, the USS Enterprise - 1701 will make anyone pleasantly giddy.

  3. If your fan of Star Trek then you can't go wrong with starting a collection with the original Enterprise. It has several sound clips, my faves being the transporter and the communicator.

  4. This model by Art Asylum is very detailed and faithful to the original studio Enterprise model. First, I will point out the minor problems: 1)the secondary hull is a bit too cylindrical and doesn't taper toward the end as much as it should but it's an extremely small deviation that's hard to notice 2)unlike art asylum's other models, this one being slightly cheaper, also uses a slight more crude assembly method: use screws which are covered by these circular plastic plugs that are not painted right (too light) so they are visible on the side of the ship. The plastic mold is very durable though and the warp nacelles, deflector dish, and saucer section will certainly not disappoint. The windows are nicely painted in (not like AA's enterprise E and enterprise A) and the formation lights, bridge light, and nacelle light beautifully light up in the dark. Plus there's a neat display mode that lights up the ship indefinitely without the sound running on.

Conclusion: for around 25$, the accuracy you get in for a beautiful sturdy model of a classic ship, this is a bargain (way better than old Playmates crap)

  5. Absolutely fantastic! I've been a Trek fan since I was a very little boy, watching re-runs with my older brother. I'd have given ANYTHING to have a toy like this back then! Fantastic detail in all the markings (much better than the models I used to build), and the lights and sound effects just set it off even more! Sure, there's the little plugs under the bottom of the primary hull, but who care's?? I don't look under there THAT much. Diamond Select did a wonderful job, and I'm extremely pleased with my ship...and have been showing it off!

5 comments about Fisher-Price Digital Arts & Crafts Studio.
  1. This toy is hard to connect to the computer. The latest version says it works fine with Windows Vista, however I never got my computer to recognize the device. I have a laptop with Windows XP and I was able to connect it, however sometimes the computer cannot recognize the device. I tried to go into the website that the instructions say provide updates to the software and it still under construction. When connected it is a lot of fun for my daughter, but it is really frustrating getting to that point for both her and me. I believe it is too expensive for such simple technology with no possibility of upgrade at least for now. If you have a lot of patience, then you can buy, if you get desperate with computers, please don't it will drive you nuts!

  2. This was also a Sa**ta gift but hands-down it's been the best one my granddaughter has ever received.

Once we got my christmas present up and running (a new computer with bigger drive etc...) we loaded this gizmo up and she was off and running.

The great thing is she can hook it up and run it without my help and it has been just a boost for her creativity.

She can use this thing for hours.

Well loved and will be well used for a long time

  3. I bought this for my daughter for her 4th birthday. First, it was a bit difficult to install it on the PC. It just kept going through the "installation process." We had to reboot the PC a few times before it finally installed.

Once installed, it was a little difficult to use, especially for a 4-year old, since one has to keep the ball-point tip of the "pen" to make sure that you can active the drawing (connect the dots, etc.) on the screen.

My daughter loves arts and crafts! However, she has not even asked us to play with this after the first use. Sigh ... hopefully, she can use it later.

  4. Do not buy this product unless you are a computer wizard. The programming is so bad that whatever machine you install this on crashes a million times. The Microsoft .NET runtime it needs to work ok, is one specific build. If you have a newer one, it won't work well unless you uninstall it and let the program install its own version of .net and directx9.0c (june 2007). So if you have other programs that need .net, they all break. How about that? Thanks Fisher Price! I mean really, flash games on Noggin work 1,000 times better than this.

  5. My son loves the digital studio. There are no messy markers to deal with. He actually learned to write his name and other words. It has many features like spray painting, writing, coloring, and themes. The "pen" acts like a mouse and that is teaching him how to navigate on the computer. I like that he can print something he created. I will be buying 7 more of these for Christmas for my nieces and nephews.

  1. This is my 2.5 year old's favorite clickstart game. It has four different games with one level.

Rainforest Paint - Children can paint a picture using red, yellow and blue. There is also a color mixer where they can mix two colors. This section has several pictures to color.

Savannah Diorama - This is my child's favorite. Your child will place animals and objects such as trees and ponds onto a savannah background. The animals will walk around and teach some basics of animal behavior. For example, the giraffe will eat leaves from a tree. You child can also make a crazy creature by choosing the head, body and legs of different animals. Unfortunately, there is just one scene. It would have been nice if you could choose from a few different scenes and different types of animals.

Animal Parade - Children match shapes, colors and patterns on an animal to the same shapes, colors and patterns on an object that floats toward the animal. Excellent for teaching matching.

Shimmering Ocean - This is a jigsaw with 20 cards. Children will have to turn over the correct cards to complete the picture.

  2. We bought my son the LeapFrog ClickStart My First Computer for Christmas. He liked the games that came with it, but we thought we would get him a few more. Some (the Toy Story game) were a bit disappointing because they only had one game (with various players and settings); however, the Animal Art Studio has many games and they are all different. My son loves to paint, create and play while he is unknowingly developing his creativity, hand-eye coordination and memory. I would definitely recommend this game!

5 comments about LeapFrog Leapster L-Max Learning Game System - Pink.
  1. This was a Chrismas gift for my 4 year old daughter this year. I had a difficult time deciding between the L-max and the regular Leapster and finally decided to spend the extra money so my daughter would have more ways to use the system. I should have saved the money and gone with the regular Leapster. The L-max when not plugged in to the TV is a wonderful learning system that my daughter uses almost every day. Our problem is with the system when it's attached to the TV. The cable does not connect tightly to the L-max and any pull on it makes it loose it's connection. If the L-max is turned upside down and the cable is not pulled on it still falls out. This is frustrating and my daughter doesn't have any intrest in using her system with the TV anymore.
I have replaced the unit once and the second system had the same problems. Until Leapster can address this problem, my advise would be buy a Leapster without hesitation just not an L-max.

  2. got one pink and one blue for Christmas this year for my 2 1/2 year old girl and 4 year old boy-- they love them- some games are more suited for this age than others- girl loves the Diego game- call them mini-games where you move shapes into missing pieces- and count penguins- my son loves the Cars racing game- however I can't quite figure out how to keep the level down to where he can answer the questions so that I won't be trapped at his side the whole time he plays- we have had no trouble with his game - her game (and she plays less) stopped working after a week or two- Amazon sent us a replacement immediately- no problem! that was awesome- easier than going to a store- I had debated between the vsmile and this- I think that I am glad I got this- but don't really have any experience with the other to compare-

  3. We purchased an lmax at christmas for our 5 year old daughter.

Now I have had problems with this (BUT keep reading its a happy ending) item and it seems that eveyone has the same complaint with the tv cable not working, its not the cable thats messed up its connection on the L-Max where you plug in the cable. we called Leapfrog, Customer service was alright, it took them awhile to send us out a new cable but when that didnt work we went ahead and took it back to the store and then purchased one off amazon.com (got it in a day wow!!)
the new L-Max works fine!!It seems that the problem has been fixed as my best friend also managed to get her hands on a new L-Max and it works too!!!

I am so happy that this system is working because both my 5 year old and my 2 1/2 year old LOVE this, and i am really happy that we can now hook it up to the TV with out any problems. It stays connected even when my daughter gets up and walks around with it, which before it didnt.

It keeps both of them busy and my 5 year old can play most of the games without any help. It was a hassle to have to replace the original L-max system but all in all I would buy this again (probably a blue one for my son) because the kids love the games and it keeps their attention for awhile. Plus it has really helped my daughter with her numbers and letters, she gets a great boost in confidence when she gets the rewards for writing the letters correctly or following directions all the way (her favorite game is Pet Pals)
    just a note:
The graphics werent that bad, after reading some reviews I had set myself up for disapointment, Hey its no xbox, as long as the kids are happy so am I and its not THAT bad, kinda like some of the OLD game graphics.

GOod luck with your L-Max if you can get your hands on one =)

  4. Wrote a bad review about this product because I had so many problems with the TV hook-up, it would constantly come out. Returned two units and finally just exchanged it for a regular Leapster. Contacted Leapfrog several times, no help! Finally, I contacted all the departments with the same complaint. Within a day, I had someone from Leapster customer service calling me with a sincere apology and offered to replace the plug, AND gave us a complimentary cartridge of my choice. Unfortunately, I had already returned the L-max for the original, but still received another cartridge for our new regular unit. I am thankful for Leapfrog's acknowledgement of the problem and their willingness to fix the problem. I will continue to purchase from Leapfrog. They have outstanding products!

  5. We bought this for our 4-year-old daughter and she loves it. The educational value really depends on the various games (purchased separately). The only reason I didn't give this toy 5 stars is b/c it goes through batteries (4 AA) very quickly. You can purchase a recharger from Leapster, but that is as expensive as the system itself. Overall, I would absolutely buy this again and would recommend it to any parent!

  1. My 5 year old daughter got this for Christmas and she hasn't stopped wanting to play with it. I have even gotten hooked on it. It is very fun. The only downside is that it doesn't come with detailed instructions, but I was able to figure it out in a short amount of time. I can't find any other flaw! I highly recommend this.

  2. My 3 (almost 4) year old is obsessed with Barbie. When we bought one of the movies there was a few of these cards in the DVD as a promotional gimmick. It worked. She loved the idea that she could design and dress up Barbie without having to struggle with getting actual arms and legs into small clothes. I managed to snag one on Amazon (keep searching, they become available, I promise!) for the great price and waited to give it to her until Valentine's day.

She loves it. We had fun organizing them into the carrying case and getting it all set up. Then we moved to the computer and got the program working. I thought she would have a problem sliding the cards through the scanner but she doesn't! She's learned how to do it well and has spent over an hour each day so far dressing up Barbie and showing off her clothing. She has even fiddled around with the "magazine cover" part and has asked to print out a copy of the cover to color (a very nice feature - it turns any Barbie outfit into a coloring page!)

I am extremely happy with this toy and want to let everyone know that even my almost 4 year old can play it and enjoy it, along with her mother!! Great toy Barbie designers - I am very, very impressed.

  3. My nieces, 8 and 5 years old, love this computer program. They are both heavily into all things Barbie and enjoy selecting fashion costumes for their dolls. So the ability to design outfits and input their designs to the computer for further manipulation is perfect for them. Using the bar code swiper is an added bit of fun and teaches them how bar codes work when they encounter them on products in stores. They also enjoy the music and games included in the program. This is also a good tool to teach them about sharing. They also seem to colaborate on designs and game decisions when playing with this program. The included storage case is a plus as it holds all the pieces in a well organized and compact binder. Good value for the price.

  1. This is a great game that can be played by all ages! It's a lot of fun to play as a family and when friends get together. You can talk and laugh and not take things too seriously...especially when you hear the choo-choo! :-) I highly recommend this if you are looking to buy one for yourself or give as a great gift! Have fun!

  2. My parents (and myself) love to play all kinds of games. So I have to always hunt to find them new ones. They played this game with friends the very night they got it. The little tin and the train whistle make a simple game much more fancier. Good addition for avid gamers. Slightly similar to a game called Chicken Foot

  3. Mexican Train dominoes is great fun for all ages of people! And the more people, the better. It is easy to play a few rounds - in fact you don't notice how much time has gone by! I highly recommend this game.

  4. This product has been a delight to the young and the old in our family!
    Couldn't enjoy it more!

  5. As one member of a little foursome that gets together once a week for a relaxing evening of games, we have spent many enjoyable hours of fun with Mexican Train. If you are one who likes a good strategy game, then this is the one for you. But be careful, the strategy can change at the placement of a die. A game that will definately keep you on your toes and keep the cranium from getting rusty.

  1. With everyone on the go and a son who is 12, going on 20, it seems like nobody has time to sit together, much less play a game that doesn't plug in anymore. With this easy, fit-in-your-pocket, compact game, we can all play it anytime!! It is fun and we find ourselves laughing like crazy!! We have told all of our friends about Pass the Pigs and they have all gotten it and loved it!! We are so glad we found it on here!!

  2. A great game for a wide range of ages that always leads to laughter and silliness. Using math for score keeping makes it educational and it's not necessary to strictly follow rules, you can make your own. It's a nice size for packing for travel too. Why toss dice when you can toss pigs!

  3. My family and I take this game to restaurants all the time. It is small and compact, with few pieces, and you can play a whole game before your food arrives. It helps teach basic math skills, though apart from the math it is basically a "luck" game. I especially enjoy the randomness of rolling pigs to get points... I mean, who ever thought up that one? Whoever they were, they did a great job on it. This game is also good for airport waits, doctor/dentist office waits, when you are bored at home... basically whenever and wherever the opportunity presents itself :)
    Buy it people, its great!

  4. I played this game at a Women's Retreat and had a blast so I came home and purchased a set for myself and one for a friend's birthday. It is great family fun as well!!

  5. Good bang for the buck. A fun little game. Good for travel, too. Maybe the only educational benefit is learning the laws of probability. Otherwise, it's just fun. My 10 year old and I really enjoy this game. I think it would be appropriate for anyone 6 years and older.
