5 comments about Star Kitchen.
  1. i needed a kitchen for my 3 yr old daughter that would fit into a very small space...but one that was enjoyable to play with. we received it very quickly, in time for her birthday, and although she has not played with it yet; i did a test run on it and it seems to be made very well; especially for the price. it is small but has many different little areas that she can work on that either slide out or open up. It would probably be difficult for more than two children, max, to really play with this at the same time (again b/c of the size) unless they had some other accompanying toys like table and chairs so that one child could be the chef and the others could help preapre the food at the table or be the customers, taking turns, etc... as for the tipping over part that another reviewer mentioned, hers will be against a wall; as i think most people have their toy kitchens so i dont think that would be a problem. in all; a good basic kitchen for a great price.

  2. Just gave it to my soon-to-be three year old daughter today for Christmas and she seems to like it. The tools that hook on seem to fall off very easily and the kitchen is meant to be placed away from walls so that all sides could be used, which contradicts the whole space-saving part of it. For the price, I think it's a good deal. There is no point on paying hundreds of dollars on something that will take up alot more space and only be used on occasion. I will update in a few months after she's had a chance to use it, who knows -it could be the best investment ever made if she uses it every day. I do wish the sink made a noise too and not just the burners.

Update: I just changed the batteries because the burners were not lighting up or making noise - (haven't been for a while but i was too lazy to change the batteries sooner) Now the burners light up but there is no frying sound which was the best part. Honestly - i wish i had bought a nicer (more realistic looking)kitchen last xmas - I saw a nice wooden blue one @ target for about $100. I really like. I still would not buy a LARGE one though - takes up too much room and can look very tacky.

  3. This kitchen has a lot of great qualities. It's on the small size, has 2 burners that light up and make a sizzle noise, and comes with lots of plates, pots, pans, and play food. It is light, but is of decent quality. My daughter hasn't tipped it over yet, but if she did, I don't believe it would hurt. I rated it 4/5 because it could be a wee bit sturdier. My toddler will play by herself for an hour with this kitchen set.

  4. My 2 year old LOVES this kitchen! We love it, too - it's just the right size (not huge and taking up a bunch of space), it has plenty of activities for her to do, it has a lot of opportunities for her to "free play" and use her imagination. it's primary colors, which I love since I don't like all the pink & purple kitchens as if they are for girls only. the price is great. I'd recommend for toddler & preschool kids. It might be too small for older kids.

I gave a 4 for durability only as a guess - we haven't had it long enough to judge. It seems sturdy but I can imagine things breaking eventually (like the doors or something). but it may never break, who knows?

  5. Bought this item thinking it was made in USA...when recieved looked at the box and to my surprise in BOLD BLACK LETTERS it said "MADE IN CHINA". I'm sorry but during this time of toy purchasing that is one time that I am trying to be careful of my purchases especially when they are for children. This would have been an awesome toy if it werent for the false advertising of where it was made.

  1. We purchased this toy as a present for a little boy for his 2nd birthday. He is fascinated by tops and we picked this top because it had two levels and a lot going on visually. He loves it and plays with it frequently. The bonus was that the other kids in our preschool (aged 2-5) love it as well. It's holding up well with 12 preschoolers using it!

5 comments about Chicco Baby Activity Walker.
  1. My daughter loves this walker. It was so easy to setup. She loves music and enjoys all the sounds this walker makes. She used this to help her start walking for about 2-3 weeks. During this time she was able to grow more confident in walking without it and now is walking all over the place by herself. My only complaint about this product is that it tips forward to easily when something gets stuck under the front.

  2. I bought this walker online without actually seeing it first. I would not choose this one again.

    Pros:
    1. Very easy to assemble. We're talking idiot-proof.
    2. The activity center is a lot of fun for my 10-month-old. There are fun songs and lights that reward her for placing the balls and shapes in the right places.
    3. The walker is difficult to tip backwards when your child is pulling up on it. The bulk of the weight is in the front of the toy, so it provides a good counter-balance. However, this weight distribution leads to other problems (see Cons).

    Cons:
    1. Tips forward too easily. I don't know how the parents in the other reviews haven't had theirs tip over. My daughter is petite, so her size is not the cause. It tips over when something gets caught in front of it, and when my daughter gets a bit rambunctious and goes a little fast. She has fallen forward holding onto it numerous times. I won't let her use it without me right behind her.
    2. The brakes are useless. The walker still moves forward, with a little resistance--but only on carpet. If you have wooden floors or linoleum in the kitchen, this toy is too unsafe. On these types of flooring, it seems safer to have the brakes off.
    3. For what you get, this toy is over-priced. There are others out there that convert to ride-along toys for the same price of less.

Overall, this toy is "okay" and my daughter enjoys it, but I would not recommend it as a first choice. I wish I had done more shopping around and gotten a sturdier walker with a better value.

  3. Not a bad walker but as a previous person mentioned, it tips forward very easily and the brakes don't do anything to stop the child. The activities in front are good, and my son likes playing with it that way but I don't really trust it as a walker.

  4. I bought the Chicco activity walker after being disappointed with the Fisher Price walker to wagon. The Chicco walker is great! My 12 month old has used it for a month, and she can pull herself up and walk with it by herself without it tipping over or going too fast. The design is sturdy, and there is plenty of room for her feet. She loves the toys on the front and sides, and the music is cheerful and not too loud.

  5. I bought this walker online because it was a very popular item. And though it's nice, I wish I had looked at other ones.

    The Pros:
    1. The activity center on the front was very entertaining for my daughter. Prior to walking, she really enjoyed playing with the front of the walker. Now that she is more comfortable using the walker to walk, it's not as interesting.
    2. It's got cheerful music and sound effects that reward play and use of the walker. My daughter is 11 months old, and is starting to walk. The use of this walker has aided her in learning to do so.
    3. Assembly is VERY easy. I mean, we're talking idiot-proof.

    The Cons:
    1. It tips over very easily! If something gets caught under the front, the walker tips over. Sometimes it tips over just because my daughter gets a bit rambunctious using it! She is petite for her age, so her size is not a factor.
    2. There are brakes on the back wheels that are useless. They add a slight bit of resistance on the carpet, but otherwise, the walker still goes forward. On hard floors, the brakes, if on, make the walker less stable.
    3. Over-priced. There are plenty of other walkers that convert to ride-on toys for comparable costs or even less.

Overall, it's not a bad toy, and it does assist in helping a child learn to walk. However, because it tips forward so easily, I do not feel safe allowing my daughter to use it, unless I am RIGHT behind her. It's worth looking into other walkers, for the cost.

  1. My daughter loves it - the pool doesn't really stay "round", but she has fun playing in it. We have only used it without water so far, but she enjoys it. It was a gift for her first birthday.

  2. I gave this ball pit to my 1-yr old nephew for Christmas and what a perfect gift it was!! The ball pit is easy to assemble and appears to be quite durable. The only recommendation I have if someone were to purchase this ball pit is to purchase additional balls for it. The ball pit comes with 100, but unfortunatley that's barely enough to coat the bottem. I purchased an additional 100 balls at Target for $10 that matched perfectly. I would definitely recommend this product.

5 comments about Chicco Music'n Play Table.
  1. My daughter has been playing with this toy since 6 months and the musical keyboard is priceless! Everything else that comes with is a bonus but any time she got cranky, the keyboard instantly took her attention away and cheered her up. Even though the music gets annoying, the baby's delight is totally worth it. The rest of it looks and feels very pleasant too.

  2. My 14 month old daughter plays with this toy every day. We keep it in our bedroom upstairs so she entertains herself when I'm getting dressed, or busy putting away laundry. This is a fabulous toy and she loves it!

  3. The Music'n Play table by Chicco is a great baby toy. Features a piano and several other noise-making components--buggs, bees and frogs that make somewhat realistic sounds. One of its greatest features is that you can control the volume (has two settings). When flipped with the music side on top, the table has a very convenient and tidy space to fit the "lego" like blocks.

Once your baby is older and more stubborn, she will be able to pull the top part of the table off, so she can climb or sit on it. While the table is not the most stable toy, it is also not high enough to hurt the baby if she falls down. Good learning experience though.

  4. my son is 7m. he just loves it! so happy to find this.. he plays with this everyday..

  5. We bought the Music 'n Play table for my son for his 1st birthday. He loves it! He mostly plays on the music side, but I think he will like playing with the other side as he gets older. He especially loves to be able to stand on his own playing the piano. We just lean it against a sturdy piece of furniture while he's playing because it will slide if he leans his weight against it. He has even started "dancing" to the music when it plays. I think he'll be playing with it for a long time.

  1. We ordered this for our grandchildren, and they are enjoying it very much. We appreciate the timely service of the shipper and good quality of the product. Thank you.

  2. I loved this toy as a kid, I'm so happy that now, 20 years later they're still making them!! I can't wait to buy one for my son so he can share the fun! Every kid should have one of these

  3. All you need to do is look at this toy to know it has obvious teaching potential. Saw it in one of our more creative toy stores and bought it. My son when he was 15 months old, and he was fascinated the moment I gave it to him. He still plays at it for long periods, he is now 19 months old. I couldn't keep all of the pieces together, so I remedied this by keeping it in the bathroom along with only a few other toys. Perfect solution - - he plays with it while I shower and get ready. It keeps him quite entertained. The pieces are then easy to pick up and stow in the corner. I have not had problems with the durability or paint, except for one ring which he threw in the damp tub. I did not notice it for over 24 hours and much of the paint chipped off. User error. We love this toy.

  4. I first used this toy in speech therapy sessions with toddlers 1-3 years old, and I loved it so much that I bought it for my niece's 2nd birthday! I like using it to teach animal, shape, and color names as well as matching shapes and colors. Kids love using the keys to unlock and lock the doors. In therapy sessions, I use the pieces as reinforcement for completing another task (ex: if the child answers a question, I give them one of the pieces to put in the Gazebo). I recommend this toy to any child, family, or therapist. The only concern is losing the pieces.

  5. My two year old son's speech therapist has this toy and the first time she brought it, it kept him occupied for 45 minutes. He would talk about the colors, keys, animals, and shapes. He counted the doors and loves to carry this toy around the house. The keys are challenging but he is learning to master it and is now saying "twist" and "stuck" for the keys. I love that his speech is coming along so far with this toy and that he is telling me everything he does as he plays with the toy. His new thing is he has to sleep with it in his bed. That is how much he LOVES this toy. Highly Recommend!!!

5 comments about Chicco KeyFit Infant Car Seat Base- Charcoal.
  1. Besudes all the features and looks. Here are the reasons why this system is the best:
It is by far the most solidly built seat system. We looked at all the Graco and other systems and they are chaep and have sharp corners on the bottom.
It has a flat solid base with no sharp cormers or edges and you will not need any pads to protect your expensive leather seats in your car.
It is more compact that the huge graco systems (the stroller is too!) and fits better in regular sedans or smaller cars.

Quality, feature and utility wise the best systems after we tried four others!

  2. This is the base for the best car seat on the market, in my opinion. We bought another base for our second car. It fits like a glove, of course. Well worth the money, highest safety ratings. A small price to pay for the safest thing out there for your baby.

  3. This car seat base and the car seat/stroller set that go with it are wonderful. The base is very easy to install and level, doesn't need constantly re-levelled, and is easy and intuitive to use. It's been great to use and my son has been very comfortable in the seat...have bought two extra bases for my husbands and my babysitter's vehicles...great value for the ease of use. I understand that I can buy the next size up seat and use the same base for it, which should work out very well as he grows.

  4. I purchased this seat on the recommendation of Consumer Reports, expecting the safest seat on the market. In order to make certain it was installed perfectly, I visited a local California police department and had a trained and certified car seat inspector install it.
Where the LATCH system attaches (or along the belt path if not using LATCH) the seat is very secure. Won't budge an inch. HOWEVER, the back of the seat and base remain completely untethered and will lift up at least seven inches off the seat. My installer said this is incredibly unsafe in the event of being rear ended at moderate to high speeds.

I spoke with Chicco's car seat safety person who said it isn't a concern because most accidents are head on collisions. She also mentioned that in the past month they have received at least eight other complaints from the California Highway Patrol about this issue.
I've been looking into this issue extensively and have learned that all infant seats with bases are designed this way and have the same problem. It's so common it has a name: Rebound.

So, unless you are certain that you will not be rear-ended avoid this and all infant seats designed to pop out of a base at all costs. They are not safe. Yes, being able to easily remove your child from the car is a great feature, but it IS NOT worth risking the safety of your child. My local certified police installer deems this seat and others of the same style unsafe. And from the mouth of Chicco's own representative, so does the California Highway Patrol.

Britax Roundabout, Britax Roundabout Advantage, Britax Galaxy and the Britax Marathon are all convertible seats that are VERY safe and have been tested using a tether in a rear facing position that removes this 'rebound' issue.

For the sake of your child, bypass convenience and go with safety.

  5. Please ignore the reviewer who rated the seat one star due to the rebound issue. I am a certified child passenger safety technician and this is NOT a safety concern. Almost all rear facing seats will rebound in a crash. The only ones that won't are infant seats with rigid LATCH (the only one currently available in the US is the Baby Trend Latch-Loc with rigid LATCH) or one with an anti-rebound bar like the Britax Companion and convertible seats that tether rear facing (all Britax convertible seats, Sunshine Kids Radian, etc). As long as your seat moves less than an inch in any direction AT THE BELT PATH (i.e. on an infant seat with a base, right at the seat crack where the other poster said it was tight) it is safe. The Chicco KeyFit is a very good seat. It is without a doubt one of the best on the market currently. It installs like a dream and fits small babies very well. As a tech of seven years, I would not hesitate to recommend this seat or use it for my own child.

5 comments about Play N Ride Train.
  1. My wife and I purchased this and we are very pleased. Its simple and fun and doesn't need batteries which is nice considering everything else seems to need them. Its the perfect size for our 17 month old son and he loves riding around on it. If you are looking for a simple, inexpensive ride-on toy for scooting around the house, this is perfect.

  2. This toy does not work well as a push toy because it is too narrow compared to its length. My 11-month old (who loves pushing his high chair and another push toy and it walking now) still has not figured out how to push it for more then several steps without tipping it over. He likes pulling on levers and opening the storage compartment. I agree with other reviewers that it provides good entertainment without batteries. The fact that the handle comes off easily if lifted vertically is weird, but it has not happened during the play(we have it for 1.5 months).

  3. This was a Christmas gift for our 20 month old, and our 4 yr. old loves it as well! He can push his little brother on it with the backrest...although it comes out easily and sometimes we forget that when we pick it up and carry it across the room. It slides right back in place though. The bright colors are fun for them too. I researched several different ride-ons and we're very pleased with this purchase. I'd recommend it to anyone.

  4. We got this for our son who just turned 6 months at Christmas. Although he is not old enough to ride it yet, he does sit up and play with the knobs and buttons, etc... If we hold him on it, his toes touch the ground (he is a very large boy for his age). I can see him scooting around in another month or two. I chose this from a review that said it was good for her taller son. Hopefully it holds true. I really like the fact that it does not use batteries. It seems that all baby toys have flashing lights and loud noises. It is refreshing to have cranks and buttons that create sounds instead. IMO, this give little brains a break from over-stimulation. Looks great and feels sturdy.

  5. This toy comes basically assembled, all you have to do is slide the back handle into the holes and you are done. The train is very sturdy and I am not concerned about any pieces breaking or falling off. The wheels roll very easily (we have carpet) and yet at the same time my son was able to pull up on it without it falling over. My son loves it, he started using it when he began cruising around the room and in a matter of weeks was walking on his own but he still loves to walk with his train too. He is too short (10 months) to ride on the train himself but he does love to get pushed around on it. I researched a lot of walkers before picking this one and I am very happy with our purchase.

5 comments about Chicco DJ Baby Walker Safari.
  1. After researching reviews, we finally decided on this walker because of the great toys we have purchased from Chicco and the features it had. Unfortunetly for us, we purchased it a little too late for our little one! He was 11 months old and walking around with our help. He mainly used the walker like "Fred Flintstone" and would scoot around by picking up his feet. So although we loved the idea of giving our backs a break, once these little ones know that there is more to explore outside the walker, he didn't want anything to do with it. After it sitting around for a month, we are returning it as he is now walking on his own!

    Easy to "steer" for him
The edge of the seat prevented him from going under the pool table
Loved the keyboard (outside the walker)
Nice colors, easy to put together and put away
*Downfall: Don't know if doctors would "recommend" a walker- something several articles have frown upon... something to think about

  2. Well done, Chicco! It is kind of expensive for a walker but the quality and thoughtful design are worth it. And seeing my little guy zipping around with a smile on his face the second we put him in it was priceless. :)
+ Smooth ride, very easy for baby to maneuver
+ Height is adjustable; the lowest setting is just right for my average-height 6.5 month old. I'm happy to know it will grow with him.
+ Funky, modern designs; Gender neutral patterns and colors
+ Folds down fairly flat, feels light but sturdy
+ Smooth lines, no ugly toys or gimmicky themes all over it
+ Removable DJ toy tray; clever interface with "real-world" details that my musician husband appreciates, like a joystick, drumpad, jog/shuttle wheel that trigger appropriate sounds/effects
+ Animals sounds, music and scales are fun and not too annoying (yet)
~ Colors are slightly less saturated than they appear on screen, but still sunny and pleasant
~ My home has all hardwood floors and does not have stairs so I can't speak to the performance on carpeting or efficacy of the safety bumpers.

  3. This product is awesome! Very happy with it and the brakes actually work. they will not even let her go into the other room over the threshold. works well on carpet but even better on the hardwood floor and tile. Would recomend this product and all other Chicco products!!!!

  4. My husbant was against buying a walker at all after we took a trip at Babies'R'Us they were all bulky and heavy and big. So in order to get a walker for my daughter I had to do my homework and shop around for the best walker out there. I checked out all prices and specs and I found it. Chicco's walker is the best priced, the litest, smallest, easiest to maneuver, most fun walker you can get for your child. I strongly reccommend it to any parent. My husband was sold on it, all he had to do was glue a rubber tape(he got at Home Depot) around the bottom edge to keep it from ruining our new base molding in the apartment.

  5. I love this walker. It has 2 different height settings and a really ALIVE entertainment setting, which also converts into a tray. It has 2 settings on the noise level which helps when you have the "baby screaming" headache. And its very cute.

  1. It was easy to install, adjust, and folds to almost flat for storage. My son loves it, we've put him in it since he was 6 months and he's having a blast exploring on "his own".

  2. The entertainment tray is great! The music and sounds are not obnoxious at all, they are actually quite pleasant. It moves safely and smoothly. It took our 8 month old only 1 day to figure out how to cruise around in style. Also, it's not too huge and bulky or ugly with excess plastic like most other walkers. Love it!

  3. My son started in this walker at 4 months old. On the lowest setting his feet were almost fully on the ground even then. The toys are great, they are easily set off even when your little one only bumps them by mistake. And the sounds are great, perfect volume and they aren't annoying at all. My little guy just loves this walker. It moves very smoothly and the brakes are awesome, they are sensitive enough that they even keep him from going over the floor saddle into the next room. Super toy.

  4. My daughter and her husband did not want a walker. I bought this one to keep at our house for my gtandson to play in WITHOUT the wheels attached. By the end of the day, the wheels were on and he was on his way. A really great product. I can't say enough about it. I am ordering one to have sent to their house as well.

  5. I am pretty happy with this walker. It took about 10 minutes to assemble, pretty much all snap together. The baby took to it really quick. I was suprised how fast he started moving since this is his 1st walker! He instantly started moving towards the cats. :)

The play area is nice, and like other reviewers mentioned its not real annoying like other sound playing toys can be. It has lots of different things for the baby to play with so you dont hear the same sound or song over and over again.

The break down of it is really easy and does become really flat. Havent tried it yet but Im sure itll fit under the bed.

The only downside I think is the color scheme. Seems really bland.
