1. The description of this product is very enticing. But when you open the box the disappointment starts and spirals out of control. This is a very poorly made kit in all respects. The materials used, the quality of the pieces, the manner in which they fit together are all a huge disappointment. Do not waste your money. Save yourself seeing your child's crestfallen face. I wish I had taken the time to return it.



2. It's a perfect model kit for the creative and curious minds of all ages. This will certainly help with kids projects and understanding of Structural building. The scale is precise, and building and painting can be hours of fun. I highly recommend this item for young builders and profesionals.



3. The Only good thing about this, is the book that comes along with the instructions. The suspension bridge, is made out of paper, the cement for the stone bridge does hold together properly.
   
   What a waste of money.



4. No, this isn't the highest quality toy on the market, but it is functional. Besides, I wasn't expecting much more than an afternoon's project with my construction/firetruck/tractor-loving 5yr-old son when I bought it for $10.
   
   With that said, this probably is my son's favorite project. Even months after he completed the bridges (with my help), he still uses the sturdy truss bridge when he plays with his trucks, and gets wild-eyed stares when he brings the suspension bridge for show-and-tell (HINT: we flattened a long cardboard wrapping-paper tube and attached the suspension bridge to it to make it easily portable, and we used rubber bands to keep the suspension wires attached to the bridge). He also spent a lot of time playing with the plaster bricks for the arch bridge -- no, he didn't try to cement them, but had lots of fun balancing them in place which is non-trivial for a 5 yr old.
   
   So for $10, I got a toy that sparked the imagination of my son and his friends -- what more could I ask for as his $50 V.Smile video game system gathers dust in the corner?

5 comments about Music Blocks - Neurosmith - NEW MODEL for 2007.

1. I received this toy as a baby shower gift, and we introduced it to my daughter when she was just 6 months old while she did "tummy time." She really enjoyed listening to the music and watching the lights on the front of the toy, even though she was too young to really use it. As she gets older, I anticipate that she will begin to use it herself and continue to enjoy it.



2. My children are 2 and 3 years old and love to sing and dance. They love all things musical. However, they lost interest in this pretty soon. I suspect they will like it better when they are older. I enjoy playing with it. I think it is quite clever. But if the kids don't play with it, then what's the point? My kids threw the blocks around and danced to the music when we first got it but now they don't seem to care about this toy.



3. Well ours worked for about 10 seconds and that was it. Called the number provided BY Neurosmith and it has been disconnected.....sent an email to the customer care line....returned. And there is NO Neurosmith web site either. Thank goodness Amazon is accomadating...or I'd be stuck with a crummy toy.



4. We have owned this for two years and love it!!! However, Neuromith stopped making these products (hence, the low, low price) and cartridges. So, if you want a cheap toy, great. But you'll get no support from the company. Unfortunate, because they really did have a wonderful line of toys!



5. We have both the older and newer version. While the newer version is okay, we really enjoy the older version because of the music choices. The older version takes the cartridges and you can switch out types of music to some really neat choices, from surf music to world music to mary poppins. The newer version (2007) has 3 music selection, which just wasn't enough for us for long term, but good for getting our two year old started and distracted while our 4 year old played with the older version. We also found the newer model did not have as good sound quality as the older version. Overall, however, the product was fun and educational, and so for, indestructible. (-:

1. I bought this for my son. I have put together all 3 combinations, and the only one that would stay together was the airplane. The hoover craft and the helicopter kept falling apart, even when I was handling them. I would not buy this again, and would have a hard time recommending it.



2. My 8 yr old son loves this toy. He has put them together and had no trouble with things falling apart. Plane "totally cool" (he really likes the working landing gear), hovercraft "also cool" and it goes "very fast on the floor too."

1. I purchased this set for my kids (ages 2, 3, & 5) and they love it. It fits perfectly on the duplo legos and the kids really enjoy all the different nationalities. All the people's arms and legs move as well. A great compliment to the Lego Duplo Basic Bricks!

1. They are so much fun, I asked for them after my brother got them for Christmas. There are a million pieces. (This is great for someone without an infant in the house.)



2. We bought the LEGO Community Workers Set for my 10 year old son who loves LEGOS. He has spent hours putting together the wonderful characters, changing them, putting them in different "stories" he creates with his other LEGO blocks. There are tons of ways to change the characters - their hair, clothes, hats, etc. We wanted to try these because we have found he likes to use his imagination making up his own play sets, rather than the ready made ones.



3. I ordered this lego set for my 6 year old. All he wanted for Christmas was a "bucket of LEGO guys" to play with. The order was processed quickly and arrived faster than expected. This particular set has a wide variety of parts and is a lot of fun. Our house is full of LEGO products. They are creative, durable and highly recommended!



4. I bought this set for my two sons (ages 5 and 4) because we didn't have enough people with the Lego tubs they received at Christmas -- two little men when you have two kids plus visiting friends just isn't enough. Now they have more than enough people to play with when creating their imaginary scenarios (usually bad guys vs. good guys, and now includes girls thanks to the new set). In my opinion, it was a bit pricey, but it has been worth it as I've watched their imaginations grow AND haven't had arguments over who gets to play with the one person we originally had.



5. We purchased this set of people at the same time we bought a bin full of legos (also from Amazon). Our son has played with these more than the regular legos. He loves the ATV's and bikes especially! Gotta have these with any set of legos!

5 comments about Lego 4+ Basic Bulk Set.

1. Bought as a present for friends. They been looking for general legos like the ones they had as a kid and these were exactly what they remember. As soon as the received them they were building with them. Hours of fun and good for children of ages (including adults).



2. I like that this is a package of just Lego bricks, and not all the fancy prefab cars, house, people, etc., that most people think of as Legos nowadays. Personally, I think the more fancy you make the Lego sets, the less they stimulate imagination -- just having geometric blocks and building with those seems like pure creative thought to me.
   
   That being said, it's worth pointing out that these are *small* basic Legos (ie, the connecting dots are the smallest size). Does anyone know where we could find a comparable basic set of the larger-bore size?



3. My grandsons have been Lego fans as long as I can remember. They actually travel with a large container of Legos. We added to their collection at Christmas with this product and they were thrilled. While they visited us, they built reinforced castles from opposing warlords and had huge battles right on our family room floor. If imagination is educational (can anyone argue with that?) this is a great thing for kids. Beats the heck out of the thumb workout they would get from the video stuff.



4. Quite a lot of building blocks. Enough to keep a child's imagination going for hours. Strong parts, bright colors and many different shapes are great.



5. This was exactly like I expected. You can't find a general mix of legos anywhere. They're all kits. These aren't the small legos either. This will be great for our 3 1/2 year old engineer minded son. We also bought the set of lego people and wheels. I'm sure we'll be adding more soon enough. Great buy...you can't beat it anywhere, even with shipping.
