- Great price first of all.
Does not come with the connector that connects to the air hose. You'll have to buy one from the store before you can use it (around $2).
If you use the correctly graded sand, this think works amazingly. If you decide to go cheap and use playground sand, you'll still get great results. Occasionally the playground sand will clog the nozzle because the sand isn't graded to as strict of standards. To unclog all you have to do is cover the nozzle with you hand, and the air will be force to leave through the pickup hose effectively unblocking the clog.
Also do NOT use wet sand or even slightly wet sand. You will be angry for days if you do.
I am happy with this product and it does a great job.
- Purchased this on the recommendation of the previous reviewer "Master". He said he got great results using playground sand. As I knew this would be what I would be using and the price was good I went ahead and bought it. Worked intermittently at best. Wasted a whole Sunday afternoon trying the different nozzles to get it to work but it just won't work decently. You get what you pay for applies here. Threw it in the junk box. Maybe I can find some use for the rubber hose that comes with it.
- Air tools don't come with the connectors, any handyman would know that. Sandbox sand is for kids and Tonka trucks. Get some real sandblast media and the proper air fittings and you'll be impressed by this cheap gun.

- The Handi-Blaster is good for small items ( threads on screws or bolts),Removing paint (not large areas ),glass etching.
Keep in mind it is not enclosed so its use generates lots of sand dust and floating debris.I started inside the garage and quickly moved outside.
Sand will run out if it is tipped on its side or inverted .
Not a problem just a note.
I have ordered new tips as the steel does not last long.
Ceramic tip availability would be nice.
- I was pretty darn impressed with the little sander.
I made the purchase to etch into "Pyrex" dishware and the sander was able to make quick work of that. It was easy to use and set up on the compressor. Everything was pretty self explanatory even for those without experience using sand blasters. Great novice tool. Anyone who can use a garden hose can do this.
I agree that other tips would be nice to have available. Sand control became weak after a while using the first tip I had. After a large amount of usage I had to take it apart to clean all of the flying abrasive out of the mechanics so that the thing wouldn't jam itself open and keep spewing sand all over. Now this was after 50 dishes so that was a good long while.
I decided to fashion my own blasting box, for smaller items, out of a cardboard box. I was then able to re-use my abrasives after screening it.
Set I purchased, with Amazon, DID NOT come with abrasive included and the shipping to Alaska made it a price gouger. For the over-all price I got exactly what I expected and am pleased with the product.
- I think the product and shipping were great. I only would like to know where I can buy replacement nozzles for it at? The manual says to contact the supplier! Stush
- Needed this blaster to remove rust spots from my truck. Although initially I thought the blaster was a little weak, I was wrong. It chewed thru the rust and paint right down to bare metal in seconds. I even removes deeply pitted rust. Lightweight, easy to operate, easy to store...make sure you have the right safety equipment on.
- This looks like a nice unit, but in Amazon's description, it says it comes with abrasive material. As noted in another's review, IT DOES NOT!!!!!!! Once again, Amazon is wrong in their description, and just plain doesn't care or desire to fix it.

2 comments about Heavy Duty Sandblast Hood.
- I've done sandblasting of large car parts out in my yard for years, and have had a really flimsy hood that came with the sandblaster, and I finally decided to upgrade the hood to something that worked better. I did some research on various models, and found many good ones, but with relatively high prices. This hood impressed me with it's features as well as the price, so I ordered one. I've used it a few times now, and find it a good improvement over my past hood. The built in helmet is great for keeping the hood centered on my head, and the hood material is the right length to keep my neck and upper body protected from sandblast media. I think the hood diameter could have been slightly larger at the bottom to give me more shoulder room, but I'm a big guy at 6'4", and it does fit, just a little more snug than I'd prefer. The clear lens is protected by the wire mesh and that seems to keep sand from abrading it on the outside. The lens has fogged up on me on the inside, especially while using it on several cool October evenings, and I'm not sure any hood that isn't ventilated by a blower would do any better. I haven't tried it in hot summer weather yet, but am curious whether the built in vents will do the job of keeping me cool inside. Time will tell. Overall, it's a good sandblast hood for the money, and the quality of construction seems pretty rugged. I'd definitely recommend it to the home user or hobbyist for occasional work. However, if you're going to work in a hood daily, you probably should invest in a better unit with built in ventilation.
- I purchased the Scarab Lite model (this is the heavy duty model) while sandblasting a large steel part on a kit aircraft that I was building. This hood kept those pesky abrasive particles from abrading my face. It also worked well in the summer heat, and didn't fog up too much as I remember.
I like the added screen feature of the heavy duty model because it increases the life of the lens. I haven't seen this feature on very many other models. Also, the price is right. All other hoods with similar rugged quality are quite pricey. I recommend this hood for those who need a quality product at a quality price.

- I bought this sandblaster for a few weekend projects. It is very easy to use, and works fantastic! I used it to sandblast engine cases on my 1960 Harley. I purchased a grit called "Starblast" on the recomendation of my local supplier. This stuff worked great in the Cambell Hausfeld, and gave me professional looking results.
- Purchased this to help restore a fire hydrant, It worked well. I used reqular play sand which I screened to get small rocks out. The blaster worked well even with this and no special sand.
- The container and connections are flimsy but easily re-inforced. Product overall worked as advertised so I'll recommend it.
