  1. These new batteries are more pewerful and longer lasting that the original batteries. I am very pleased with them

  2. WHAT A GREAT DEAL, IT PAYS TO SHOP AMAZON, FAST DELIVERY. I APPRECIATE THE GOOD SERVICE.

  3. I purchased 2 new Dewalt 14.4 cordless drill batteries. They arrived right on schedule and they work great..

  4. I bought this to replace an expired Black & Decker Firestorm used in a B&D Hedgehog cordless trimmer which is many years old. The trimmer runs for about two minutes, slows down, then doesn't run. But the battery's not dead - if I just leave it alone for 10 minutes, without recharging or anything, then the trimmer runs again, for another two minutes. So I don't know. The battery might be fine or it might not, I can't tell where the problem is.

  5. Cheaper than going to home depot. No shipping charges. You can't beat that.

5 comments about Jet JW1044 4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch Reducer.
  1. I purchased this with a dust collection hood for my planer. The hood has a 4" port. I thought that I could plug my shop vac hose into this adapter and then plug the adapter into the hood. My mistake! This will allow you to adapt a 4" hose to a 2.5" hose, but I had to tape the adapter to the hood as both ends of the adapter are female.

  2. This item works as advertised. I bought this when I was setting up my dust collection system and wanted to connect it to my spindle sander (which takes a shop-vac type of connector). I was not careful when I read the dimensions of this reducer. This will not work for such purpose. It will work if you want to connect your shop-vac to it and then connect the other end to the 4" connector of a machine. The problem is that a shop-vac is 2 1/4" and not 2 1/2. There is a different adaptor you could use for that.

  3. you would think this fitting is all you need to be able to use a shop vac,
it wont work; unless you also buy a 4" hose and other fittings?
dont waist your money, (there are other fitting out there)

  4. I bought this adapter to reduce the 4 inch opening on my delta planner but it is the exact size as the opening on the planner. I though the purpose of a reducer was to fit 4 inch openings without another adapter. I had to buy a 4 inch to 4 inch coupling to make this work.

  5. I use this almost daily when I swap the dust collector hood next to my lathe for a hose fitting to vacuum up all the chips that went elsewhere. I have a quick connect fitting on the 4" hose to easily swap it from the hood to this reducer. This reducer is such a tight fit that I can barely get it deep enough in the mating fitting to hold. It pops out easily just on the weight of 6' of 2 1/2 in hose.

  1. I have found that the battery is good for small jobs. It runs out of power
sooner then a 18v. I am happy with mine and would order another one if
    needed.

  2. Keep this one charged while using a different one to power the tool. It works just fine.

  3. Black and Decker PS140 FireStorm 14.4-Volt 1.4 Amp Hour NiCad Pod Style BatteryBattery arrived quickly and was an exact replacement. Works properly and holds a charge much better than the older one.

  4. This was the first battery that I could find that would actually keep a charge. Works great and is long lasting.

  5. Product was brand new and worked right out of the box. Very pleased with product and service.

5 comments about 4 Piece Grabit Broken Bolt and Damaged Screw Exractors (ALD8440P).
  1. This set of extractors may sit in your tool box for months without your using them but they will pay for themselves the first time you use them. They are relatively inexpensive and well worth the confidence they bring you in having the right tool.

  2. I'm working as a carpenter and as one the drill and the screws are one of the things that I use the most.
I bought the exractor because for me is problem when I brake the screw or damage the head.First time when I tryed one of the 3 bits have got melted.
I've decided that I've done something wrong.I checked on the instructions one more time and I used the other two exacly as it sais. The same happened with them.So unfortunatly it was a waste of money.

  3. I recently took down a metal gazebo on my deck. The 2.5" deck screws that held the gazebo in place were stripped and the tops were rusted. I tried every tool I had to remove them and they wouldn't even budge. I was afraid they'd never come out and I'd have to shave them down. After ordering the 4-piece Grabit tool, I read the instructions and within 5 minutes I had extracted all of the deck screws. I was overjoyed!!!

After that, I immediately went inside the house to extract two very small & stripped screws that were in a bedroom wall. It took two turns of stripping and extracting the screws, and then Viola! Worked again!

Best $20 I ever spent on a tool!

    TIPS:
    A. Use eye protection and gloves. When drilling out the screw, it generates a lot of small metal slivers which can fly out and could get into you eyes. They're small enough to stick into your skin as well, so wear heavy gloves. Make sure you clean-up afterwards or you could step on them.
    B. Read the directions. I think some of the other people who reviewed this product didn't read the directions and just tried to muscle it (hence the melted extractor bit).
    C. Go S-L-O-W. Use a variable speed drill and go as slow as possible. Also, set the torque on your drill to the most powerful setting so it doesn't "click" when it meets resistance.

    Good luck!

  4. I got 2 of these for my son. It looked like a great idea, probably would've worked if it was made of a high grade of steel, but it wasn't so all I can do is send back the other one, unfortunately he had tossed the wrapper on the one he opened and the piece itself got swept into the garbage - where it belonged/

  5. Not sure what the others that gave this a bad review had problems with. I have owned dozens of other models screw removers, and have never had a single one work, sometimes I had one that would get out 1 screw out of 12.

I have used this set 9 times now, and it worked all 9 times saving me countless headaches and a ton of money from not having to replace entire parts because a screw was rounded off or stripped.

I used this set on 4 sizes of phillips head screws, 2 sizes of hex screws and 2 sizes of slotted screws and worked flawlessly on every type. Maybe the others not using it right? You are supposed to "drill" out the head with one end of the tool, turn it over and then use the removal side, money every time I tried it anyway.

This thing grabs so tight that even my Dewalt impact driver will not let go of the stripped screw even when it is "impacting" to get out those stubborn long screws or rusted in screws.

  1. Great product. Please note that they recalled an earlier model due to fire hazard. Maybe that's why my old one burned up. This model seems to be working well.

  2. I can verify that this charger will bring back to life the 18v version of a Black & Decker Firestorm battery too! It brought mine back to live after needlessly buying a new battery.

This is really significant for us 18v owners because Black & Decker does make a "kill proof" charger that reconditions batteries but it is not available for the 18v version! So this is your only prayer of giving your batteries new life. That's certainly better than messing up the environment by (1) throwing away a battery that can be rejuvenated and (b) causing someone in the world to have to manufacture a replacement.

My dead battery was manufactured in 2000, so it was old but not ancient. I only use it once a month, so I would guess there is more life in it!

  3. Thanks to the bad reviews of others I did not buy the Black & Decker model charger I was replacing. Instead, I purchased the DeWalt DW9116 for use with both the Black & Decker and some older DeWalt battery packs. It is working just great.

  4. I used this to replace my black and decker 14.4V charger. No regrets what-so-ever. The first time I used the "super charge" (or whatever it's called) I got extra life and power out of my batteries. It's also great to have a 1hour quick charge as well.

  5. Finally a charger that will work and keep your batteries charged when you need them.
    Great product.

  1. These batteries only last one season with full charges, after that you will only get 20 minutes on a charge. I have four batteries each with a different longevity. Also, they do not hold a charge when on a shelf, you have to plan ahead and charge the one you will use that day. A second one will not be fully charged by the time thr first one dies. They work good when brand new but will grow weaker during the season.

  2. I have four of these batteries, have charged each no more than 10 times. Two hold a charge for mere minutes. The best holds a serviceable charge for about 15. B&D should be ashamed and should come up with a decent battery or abandon the cordless market.

  3. I use these batteries with the B&D chain saw. That may be more power hungry than some tools.

When brand new, the saw really hums, wow! After 20 to 30 charges, though, the batteries seem to charge to about 70% of the "out of the box" capacity. I've had two that just died - would not hold a serious charge - within the Amazon product return time window (which they graciously replaced or refunded). Clearly there is some variability between individual batteries, but I'm guessing a max usable lifetime of 100 to 150 charges, if the battery makes it that long.

  4. I bought one battery pack when I bought my new B&D drill in February 2007. I am a very light user and when the battery would not charge up in April '08 I bought a new battery, did the inital 9 hr. charge as the directions stated and the battery lasted about 20 seconds. Neither battery will charge up enough to use. Sorely disappointed. I am switching to Makita or DeWalt.

  5. I'm in the process of building a deck and had tons of screws to drive to hold down the deck boards. Well, things started off great but then went downhill fast. These batteries just aren't made for constant use. After a while I found myself sitting there waiting for the batteries to recharge. I was switching off between 2 of the 18v batteries and another B&D drill with 2 12v batteries. Ended up borrowing 2 more 18v batteries from a neighbor to get me going again while mine recharged. As an FYI, one of my 18v batrteries is the silver series which are supposed to be more powerful. Save your money, they're not not any better than the regular ones.

  1. that Black and Decker SHOULD have supplied with their 9.6V cordless products. I ran thru two of the little plug in transformer chargers in no time, and even when they worked they took forever, and it was anyone's guess when your battery was charged. This baby tells you everything you need to know, and if you forget you have a battery on charge, it automatically prevents an overcharge, which shortens battery life. Hardly more expensive than the other little chargers to boot.

  2. Like those of many reviewers, the chargers supplied originally with my tools, even one "smart" one, eventually all died. One (presumably a "dumb" model) did so fairly spectacularly. I tracked down this unit at a local ACE hardware store when I was in need, and paid more than I'd have wished to, but since then it has never given me any reason for regret. I even bought a new Firestorm pack a month ago, and feel pretty confident this charger will be sufficient until I move on to one of the newer rechargeable technologies.

It does whine a bit in use, at a pretty high frequency. Not that it's loud enough on it's own to be any bother, but on some surfaces it might resonate and surprise you.

  3. This charger works just as claimed in material. Very pleased with the new addition.

  4. Excellent as described- does fully charge in one hour-only negative is it does not fit in the drill case.

  5. Very nice little charger. Way better than the stock piece of junk I got with the tools. On a side note: If you think your battery is bad...
after charging your battery test the voltage output. If it doesn't read a voltage at least as much as it's rated output i.e. 14.4, 12.0 etc it probably has a dead cell. And no... I do not believe that those magical battery re-conditioners actually work ! ! !

  1. This item was much less than the same item in all of the big box stores we checked. Thanks.

  2. This works MUCH better than the Dremel made for pets. I bought that one first and had to return it because it was completely ineffective and didn't work properly. This one has been great and the dogs are surprisingly calm while I use it.

  3. This model works great on keeping my 2 Samoyeds nails trimmed. Both dogs now enjoy having their nails done and had no problem with the Dremel Minimite from day one. I'm not sure how the pet model works, but this one is less expensive and works great. I found it's best to trim on the lo speed and only for a few seconds on each nail, otherwise it gets too hot. The price is great, and even with using the free shipping I had it in my mailbox 3 days after ordering.

This is definately better than clipping their nails! As a suggestion, if your dog has hairy feet like mine, try using some old nylons and just poking their nail through the nylon when you trim. This should prevent any hair getting caught in the Dremel.

  4. We use the minimite in our grooming shop for filing dogs nails. It's easy to use & light weight. The dogs are more relaxed once they get used to it as well.

  5. I bought this tool specifically to cut my doggie's toenails, as I just had hardwood installed and wanted to avoid scratches in the wood finish.
Well, call this tool my total solution! Not to imply that doggie is totally happy, but the process is so quick and painless that I'm done in 10 minutes or less, and he's much less traumatized.
If you have a doggie with black toenails like I do, you need this tool, because cutting off the nails has the added risk of bringing blood from getting in the quick. You can sand down the nails without getting in the quick and it's quick and painless.
I'm sure I'll find other things this tool is good for, but right now I'm in awe of how much this single purchase has made me and my dog so much happier!
Battery lasts good, tool has nice weight, pretty easy to figure out how to use it, even for an old lady like me.

  1. My original 14.4v charger came with my tool set suddenly died along with extra battery. This charger is fast and LED blinking indicator show whether your battery is charging, charged, or dead.
Fast charging time and I am loving it.

  2. Reasonably priced, quick delivery, great product. I am pleased with the performance of the charger. It works very well. Just as described.

  3. We have both 14v and 18v B & D drills. The charger on the 14v quit working. When I saw this charger, I liked that it can charge both of our battery sizes. Also, my husband had always left the batteries charging for far longer than was recommended. This charger does the job in 90 minutes and then puts the battery in a storage mode so that it is not over charged.
Well worth the money even if your B & D charger is still working.

  4. This is a hardy tool. The original charger that came with my drill was kinda flimsy. This charger has some meat to it.

  5. This 90 minute charger sometimes indicates that it is charging for 6+ hours on a brand new battery. Generally it works fine and does charge my batteries in about an hour but there are those few times that just sits there and just blinks away for hours saying that it is charging. Because of this, I never use it unattended. The batteries that it tried to charge for a long time got pretty hot but probably still well within the safe zone. It just made me nervous enough to only use it while I am home.
