5 comments about Kidde KN-COPP-B Front Load Battery-Operated Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Digital Display.
- Had to replace my old Kidde KN-COPP-B Front Load that expired exactly 5 years after the manufacture date. I ended up buying three from Amazon because at the time they offered an amazing unbeatable deal and no other sellers could match the price. I've noticed a few complaints about the manufacture date on recently purchased alarms. Of the three I purchased in Dec 2009, one had a manufacture date of Feb 2009 and the other two were manufactured in March 2009. Even the the batteries included with each alarm had a Feb 2009 date stamped on them with a 2015 expiration date. Hope that squashes any concerns future purchasers might have. Oh yeah, this is a great battery operated carbon monoxide detector with a digital display and loud alert.
- I HAVE A 13 YEAR OLD RHEEM GAS FURNACE. I WAS TOLD BY MY MAINTENANCE TECH THAT SOME OF THE HEAT CONDUCTORS
IN THESE UNITS CORRODE IN OLDER MODELS AND ALLOW CARBON MONOXIDE TO ESCAPE. OF COURSE HE SUGGESTED PURCHASING
A NEW FURNACE (AND A/C UNIT) FROM HIS COMPANY FOR AROUND $10K. AS A RETIRED PERSON LIVING ALONE AND NOT HAVING AN
EXTRA $10K TO SPEND, I NEEDED A DETECTOR TO MONITOR C.M. EMISSIONS. THE PEACE OF MIND OF SEEING THE "0" EMISSIONS ON
MY ALARM IS WORTH THE PRICE OF TEN ALARMS. THANK YOU KIDDE AND AMAZON.
- I was going to use a forced air kerosene heater to warmup the garage for winter car restoration projects. The Kidde Alarm along with simple thermometer first allowed me to take CO level & temperature data to get a good sense of safe operating limits on cold days. After 2 hrs, CO levels rose to the 50 to 70ppm levels after a 25 to 50F warmup...wise time to shutdown! Also was able to check on any potential CO bleed into the attached house (none)as well as CO decay rate when heater turned off & temperature drops. All in all it worked very well & measurements one day to the next were reproducible/consistant. The only shortcoming not mentioned in Amazon ad, but well covered in Kidde brochure was the 30ppm minimum reading level inherent with the unit. I would have paid 10 to 20% more for unit that goes 10ppm or less.....but probably not realistic availability. Also used to spot check oil furnace & wood burning fireplace....all zeros. All in all it worked great & I just leave in furnace room when not actually heating garage.
- After recently learning that CO detectors need to be replaced after 5 years, I went on the hunt to find new ones. The Kidde KN-COPP-B got great reviews at a very reasonable price so I ordered 2 of them. They arrived quickly, were easy to set up and are in great working condition. I'm very happy with this purchase.
- It is and does exactly what it's supposed to and every house must have one in NY by law.

5 comments about Whirlpool 4396508 KitchenAid Side By Side Refrigerator Quarter Turn Water Filter, 1-Pack.
- I read all the reviews and decided to try this filter. It costs 1/2 of what I could buy it for at Sears. That is a huge savings, especially when your on a fixed income. I am very happy with this filter. I have not noticed any difference and it fits in my Kenmore side by side without any problems. I will be purchasing this again. How can you go wrong, great price, FREE shipping, and it's delivered to my front door. Thanks Amazon, I love shopping here, I have saved so much $$.
- Had no choice - former maker ended product line.
It looks like a perfect and less expensive option.
- These cartriges are perfect for Sears Kenmore side by side refrigerator model #10653754201. In Kenmore Use and Care Guide the product order part number is 9902. My experience ordering through Sears, however, was that it cost more and delivery took longer.
- Product arrived as seen on Amazon. As usual, Amazon delivered what was shown for the price shown. No complaints and the filter fit perfectly on the bottom left of the refrigerator. Make sure to drain about 2 gallons of water intially after installed.
- These filters are good. The water pressure is hardly affected when the filter is installed, until you need to actually change the filter. One minor problem is in the instructions for changing the filter. The instructions state to turn the existing filter counter-clockwise 1/4 turn. However, with my particular refrigerator (Whirlpool ED5RHAXNT00), I had to turn the existing filter clockwise to remove it.

5 comments about Emergency Thermal Blankets (4 Pack).
- I bought these for emergency readiness so have not used them yet. I am giving the three star rating only because the retailer sent a different brand from what I ordered. If you want Quake Kare do not expect to get it here.
- The emergency blankets arrived and are exactly as described in the ad. The shipping was increadibly fast, and the size of the actual blanket pakaging is small enough to be convieniantly stored almost anywhere. I plan on keeping these in the glove box of my car, and may get more to keep around the house or store with our camping gear.
- I made a mistake buying a Texsport Willowbend Trail Tent
[...]
I ended up waking up in the middle of the night on top of a wet and cold sleeping bag. I grabbed one of these blankets, wrapped myself with it and stayed dry and warm.
Highly recommend it to any one who camps out!
- I bought these as an "emergency" item. I haven't had to use them. They are small and compact to keep in my cars if ever needed.
- If you are looking for emergency blankets... buy these. I was looking for 2 to carry in mine and my wife's backpack but could buy this four pack for cheaper. Go to any sporting goods store and compare prices. 4 blankets for the price of 2 including the FAST shipping is a deal that can't be beat. Shipping took like 4 days from the day I ordered. If you are thinking of buying them... do it.

5 comments about MJSI HYR270 HydroRight Drop-in Dual Flush Converter.
- This installed pretty easily even though I have an unusual toilet tank. It looks good, is easy for new users to figure out and so far has been working great for the 3 weeks since installation. I worked out that it should pay for itself in 6 to 12 months.
The instructions weren't perfect though -- I documented my install and poorly noted instructions on my blog -- [..]
- This product doesn't work as promised for 1.6 low flow toilets. The only trick is holding down the short flush button for a few seconds as others have mentioned. But given that - we love this device. There is no "flapper" and therefore no "flapper leaking" problems or tangling with a handle mechanism anymore. We love it! I think it is a quieter flush too! It was easy to install in about 5 minutes.
- Good idea but sometimes its stay open and leak. At that times you lose all the water saved before. And sometimes the partial flush doesn't work and have to make a full flush.
- I purchased this unit as well as a One2Flush dual converter (for a second toilet that did not have the necessary 10" of tank clearance required by the HydroRight). Both work well, but the HydroRight was less expensive ($20 instead of $30 and also qualified for free shipping), easier to install (didn't have to remove the tank, replace gaskets, etc.), faster to install (30 minutes instead of several hours), and worked immediately(the One2Flush required some adjustments that weren't explained in the instructions or on the video, so I spent 30 minutes on the phone with customer support and wasted so much water on test flushes it'll take months to make up for it).
- It took me about 10 minutes to install this product in one of my bathrooms. From reading the other reviews I assumed it might be a little tricky, but that the customer service would be good enough to guide me through it. However, from my experience, I'd say that those who needed customer service must have had something funky going on with their toilets or were just not mechanically inclined at all. Relative to installing this product on a modern 1.6 gpf toilet without the ball float mechanism, it couldn't be easier. You'd have to be pretty unfortunate not to get this product to work right out of the box. And it works great. Go save some water!

5 comments about AccuSharp 001 Knife Sharpener.
- I have tried several types of sharperners and this is by far the best I have ever used. It is very easy to use and will give your knife a very sharp edge.
- I was a bit skeptical at first, but I have been using this sharpener for several months now and am very impressed. It is a quick easy way to put a sharp edge on any blade you use in the kitchen. I have used it on large and small kitchen knifes. I pulled out a knife the other day while making a dish that required sliced (halved) grape tomatoes. The knife I had was a bit dull and was squishing the tomatoes. I zipped the blade through the sharpener about 20 times, took about a minute. Then it went through the little guys zip zip zip. It's small, easy to store, and very safe. I'm going to get another one for my camping gear.
- I originally owned this knife sharpener along with a sharpener for scissors and garden tools, and I was extremely pleased with how easy it is to sharpen a knife. The guard at the handle protects your hand thus making it very safe to handle. It is light weight and easy to store in the drawers. I truly would recommend this sharpener to anyone.
- I had one of those traditional long rod type of sharpner. It was very difficult to use it and never sharpened the knife as much as one would like. This one is as good as the reviews suggest. It's extremely easy to use and very quick to sharpen. You will see a remarkable difference immediately. It's a strong buy.
- This AccuSharp knife sharpener is excellent. I've used other similar sharpeners and this one sharpens better by far.

5 comments about Belkin 12-Outlet Home/Office Surge Protector with Phone/Ethernet/Coaxial Protection and Extended Cord.
- After using this product for one day there were mild light fluctuations in the house. No other equipment or surge suppressor in the house was damaged but this surge suppressor stopped working. I have to seriously think about buying Belkin suppressors any more.
- Once the product arrived I untangled the mess of power cords I had under my computer desk. I have used other belkin surge protectors in my office and have been satisfied with them. This was a factor in deciding to purchase this one. I really like the surge protector's number of outlets and the order they are arranged. However I believe the manufacturer could improve the mounting holes it has on the bottom for mounting the device on the wall. This is a bit challenging under a desk. I would like to see the mounting holes moved farther apart or extended to where they protrude on the ends and one could just screw it to the wall. At the very least the manufacturer could provide a sheet with the mounting hole pattern for placement. The product has worked very well. The small power transformers that I have plugged in have not become disconnected or fallen out with the protector wall mounted. I would choose this product again.
- This surge protector is a great value and a very feature laden product for it's type. The cord organizer is a very welcome addition. Once routed through to thier respective outlets the mass of attached AC cords no longer looks like an 'electrical porcupine' but instead as a very well designed and neat feature with very visible and immediate benefits. I've had many power strips in the past but this one extra feature has been long overdue. Remember ...."neatness counts" As you may know it has surge protection as well for RJ-11 (telephone) RJ-45 (Ethernet) and coaxial (75 ohm multimedia cable) I am currently only using the Ethernet jacks..BUT as one other reviewer mentioned, I had to hunt and search as the Ethernet jacks 'were nowhere to be found'. I nearly called Amazon for an RMA. Well after sitting on the floor pondering this and cussing a little too I somewhat reluctantly tried peeling away a 'warning label' of some sort and 'Lo and Behold" were the 2 Ethernet jacks. I saw the warning label earlier and did not attempt to remove it. After all it was there as a 'warning' so I may benefit from seeing it another time. How silly to hide the Ethernet jacks beneath a warnming label that, like me, many folks would not ever consider removing. Belkin should have had the warning label ALSO declare that the Ethernet jacks were hiding beneath. How proposterously silly and ridiculous to obfuscate them beneath a very valid warning label without declaring thier whereabouts beneath. Frankly ladies and gentelmen, it pissed me off.
Not the searching as I did find them, but the use of a warning label to hide them. The label could have easily been edited to say "The Ethernet jacks are underneath". Anyway my other complaint is that this add-on surge protector advertises Ethernet / Telephone / Coaxial surge protection and rightly so..BUT it fails to include an input jumper cable of each type so one can actually use it right out of the box. I realize the product literature does not say one way or the other if input cables are included. Many other devices that are an ADD-ON to existing systems DO INCLUDE the required cables so one can actually ADD-ON the accessory.
I had to go to the store and purchase an Ethernet cable....this is MY FAULT for not investigating more thoroughly pre-sale but live and learn. I agree with all the other reviews about number of outlets provided and spacing for wall warts etc..so no further remarks on that needed. I would still recommend this unit 100% with the foreknowledge one will need to beg borrow or buy input cables beforehand in order to actually use this product right out of the box for RJ-11, RJ-45, and Coaxial protection. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...
- This item provides over 4000 joules of protection and is designed to reduce cable clutter. Excellent bang for the buck.
- You can't go wrong with this item. Twelve outlets. Nicely laid out for regular and converter plugs. I've bought eight of these for home and office. You can't go wrong. And the price is good.

5 comments about P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor.
- I am just so pleased with this Kill A Watt unit. It has been fun to use and and investigate all my power consumption. Some things are just for infomational purposes because I can't unplug them(i.e. Refridgerator) and others are devices where we can change our habits some and start savinfg some real money every month.
Pros: Easy to use, inexpensive, small profile,
Cons: Setting disapear when unplugged, zero directions
I think that the company that made this unit could be more helpful if they were to offer a spreadsheet on their website that people could download and use for figuring out their power consumption. I made one myself but it took a lot of time. Also not everyone is good at math and formulas it would be helpful if they offered a small cheat sheet for people to use to help them get started on the math of KWH and how we are all bileed for our electricity.
- Fantastic device. The first appliance I tested was my 30 year old Amana 13 cubic foot upright deep freeze. After three days it had used only three KWH. Convinced me there was no need to spend a lot of money to replace it while trying to reduce operating cost. It's on loan to a friend right now and he's thinking of buying one for himself. When I get mine back I'll be checking everything that's plugged in.
- This unit works great, it will let you know how much energy you are using when the unit is off, or working at full load. I worked in the electronic industry for 36 years, this unit is as good as some of the voltage analyzers I worked with that cost a thousand dollars!
- First off, I purchased this from Radio Shack and not Amazon for about $24.99 plus tax.
The knowledge this product will save me $158.40 a year based on $0.12 a kWh just on what I learned about my computer. My computer's surge protector used .11 kWh in 44 minutes in stand by mode. That's about 110 kWh in a month or about $13.20 a month. I mean come on!
I have had my computer on stand by mode for at least 9 years! That is $1425!!!! Having a tool like this is amazing and incredibly money saving. If you don't buy this, you are wasting your money. Having my HP Laptop charger plugged in but not connected to the laptop, used 0 kWh. Right now I am checking to see how much it takes to charge it from 0% to 100%. Then how much it uses to leave it connected 24/7. I am having a lot of fun with this. BUY IT YOU WILL LOVE IT!
- I no longer wonder if the ratings on certain electronics are trying to pull my leg.

5 comments about Whirlpool 4396841 PUR Side By Side Refrigerator Push Button Fast Fill Water Filter, 1-Pack.
- Ordered the item thru Amazon. Cheapest when I placed my order.
Took 11 days before it ends into my mailbox (USPS). Would have expected a faster delivery.
Fortunately, it is a filter... Not a survival kit.
Other than that, replacing the filter is takes 20 seconds.
Don't forget to poor 3 galons of water that you will throw away prior to start drinking the water.
- Product worked great for my new Maytag fridge. It was the identical filter that was factory installed. Amazon got it to me relatively quickly with the free shipping. Price was right also.
- The exact water filter that the user manual called for, but less money than what it cost in local stores.
- Original replacement filter. Good price, vendor represented itself well. No hidden surprises or delays. Delivered on time. If you are looking for a good price on a refridgerator filter, this is it.
- I need this item twice a year and always search for the best price. Product is great and is a good value.

5 comments about Black & Decker PHV1800CB 18-Volt Pivoting-Nose Cordless Energy-Star Handheld Vacuum Cleaner.
- I'm very pleased with this cordless hand vac which I've had for a month. It's much more powerful than my previous dust buster and cleans much better. The battery life is very good, but time will tell how it holds up. The dust chamber empty feature is nice, but you still get some dust created just by opening it up to empty which is inevitable I guess. Haven't tried washing the filters yet, but expect that to extend the filter life.
- Very pleased with this vacuum cleaner. Powerful motor picks up dirt very well. Easy to empty dirt collector. A little bit noisy but noise is not annoying.
- I love this vac. It's powerful and because of that it's quick to use. But more importantly, I didn't have to mount it on the wall. the stand fits on the top of my washer/dryer unit. the unit fits into the stand easily and I can vacuum out the whole car without the unit loosing it's battery charge.
- It takes over 21 hours to charge, it is loud, and the run-time is far too short-less than 5 minutes before the performance starts dropping significantly- then it's back to the charger for another 21 hours. I read the reviews saying it was loud before I bought it, but what does that mean? I asked Black & Decker for the noise rating in decibels before I bought it and they said that info was proprietary. They say even the type of battery they use is proprietary, and trust me, it's not Lithium-Ion. In fact, Black & Decker will not disclose any info regarding noise, performance, or anything technical, and now I know why..Very disappointing. Thankfully Amazon's refund policy is awesome.
- Indeed strong pull - 3 negative things only - heavy, short battery life (I can't vacuum my whole L-shaped sofa and pillows on 1 charge), and long recharge time (can't recharge quickly enough while cordvacuuming the rest of the room).

5 comments about PUR CRF-950Z 2-Stage Water Pitcher Replacement Filter, 3-Pack.
- This type of Pur filter have served us very well in a water-stand dispenser for the past few years. These replacement filters were offered at an unusually good price, and they arrived within just a few days. We're very pleased.
- Been using these for a couple of years now, and my only complaint is that sometimes they take 12 -24 hours to filter one gallon of water - and although one might expect that as the filter got dirty it would clog up and slow down, it seems completely arbitrary - one filter will get that slow after 2 days use, while another might take 2 weeks, and yet another will never slow down, and I'll just change it because it's time. So, probably 8 out of 10 times I'm changing the filter before it should be needed because I can't stand to wait so long for it to do it's job. I asked customer service about this when I first started using them, and they said to take it out of the the pitcher and shake it up, but that does nothing.
Still it's a better deal than bottled water, so until I hear of a better one, I guess I'll keep using them...
- I purchased this like a week ago and i must say the filter does its job. Water tastes wonderful, very smooth i simply love it.Be aware that the price is better at Walmart. I've seen the pack of 3 filters for only 14.99, so I wont purchase them from Amazon.I am a amazon costumer for years now and i ALWAYS order from Amazon but lately i have been very dissapointed when i found out that i paid more than I should with severall items.
- I have been using the same filter for about 4 months, drinking about 16-24 ounces of water a day, and the filter continues to work as great as it did the first day. No cause for complaint.
- i bought this from amazon for $22, but later saw this at walmart for $14.99
