- FYI, I ordered this to go with the WS2000 because the description said for WS2000 and WS3000. However, when I received it, the package clearly says "For use with Work Sharp model: WS3000 ONLY"

5 comments about DeWalt DC410 Heavy-Duty 4-1/2 inch 18V Cordless Cut-Off Tool, 6500 RPM - Tool Only.
- Mine came in a combo kit with other 18v tools. I fully expected to eBay it away as a bare tool.
Surprise! I've used this thing way more often than I expected! Before I could eBay it, I had a use for it. I use it to sharpen shovels and mower blades, and to cut decking bolts. On several occasion, I've used it to cut chain and to cut slots in stripped bolt heads.
This tool probably won't be suitable for all-day grinding, but it's super handy for those one-off uses as a cordless tool. I'm keeping mine!
- Great tool for its catagory. Very handy.
18v coreless does not equal 120v corded, anyone who doesn't know this already, please don't use - its will be dangerous for you to use.
- I don't know how some of the other reviewers were using this tool, but I also bought a 4" diamond blade (an expensive high-quality one with lots of diamonds) for cutting through stucco siding and concrete slabs---it works terrific! I don't write many glowing reviews, but I can't say enough good things about this tool. It's light weight and it runs a long time on a single battery---longer than my DeWalt 18V cordless reciprocating saw---doing serious damage. I'm glad I bought it and I'm glad it's in my tool kit. The only negative is that it should have a dust collector attachment because this thing kicks up clouds of dust as it devours concrete.
- I used this thing for just a couple of things so far. I ground off some rivets while changing the power window regulator on my car and ground down some screws that were poking through a board in a crawl space. It is very convenient, handy, and light weight. A cordless grinder is a must for those quick jobs. But as a someone who has done extensive metal fabricating, I cant get used to the handle design. I would prefer the grinder to actually use a traditional grinder body and handle, just with the battery at the end. I don't like the raised offset loop type handle. It should just look and feel like a normal 4 1/2 inch grinder. Dewalt should redesign this for the 18 volt nano model.
- This is the handiest tool in my garage. Very pleased with the quality, portability and power of this little guy. Shoulda had one sooner.

5 comments about Work Sharp WS3000 Wood Tool Sharpener.
- I'm a hands on carpenter with over fifteen quality but beat chisels (almost pry bars) and plane blades that have been resurrected from the grave thanks to this little nifty. Went right to work right out of the box and couldn't stop until they were all done. After all the years wasted with stones and guides...... The assortment grit packs are not quite right for roughing in FUBAR blades so be ready with your own 6" disks (60 or 80 grit)for the rough in stage. After the basic shape was restored, then the included disks do fine. Unfortunately can't seem to find sharpening disks packs except the stupid "miscellaneous" packs of different grits. Which I personally CAN"T stand. Be warned that this machine does make a mess with this weird; fine steel wool like dust, so don't piss off your wife and do the sharpening on the washer without a drop cloth. Also be ready with a can of cold water if you intend to cover ground quickly, the heat sink is puny at best. It's f____ing great to have sharp chisels again.
- I'm an amateur building a wooden schooner - have not built a boat before, or much of anything else. I don't want the polished (supposedly non-deteriorating ) surface obtainable with a well-tuned probably Japanese laminated plane, but I do need to put a smooth curve onto most of the stuff (mainly D. fir) that forms the backbone of this boat's structure, and I want pretty-sharp chisels and planes (with a few gouges at times) in a few minutes. For this purpose the WS 3000 is the best I've found. It's going to take three years in all and time is...well, you know: I want to sail her! Four stars because less useful on other edged tools; but learning curve so short as to be negligible.
SS
- in more ways than one. I've tried freehand, jigs, waterstones or diamand stones, and always butchered my blades. Now with this WS3000 I've finally got a selection of wood worthy blades. I did need to spend a few minutes leveling the heat sink so that I received straight edges, but once that was dialed in it was easy. I've purchased more grits of paper from auto repair shops ... cheaper and more grits available.
- I ordered the Work Sharp WS3000 Wood Tool Sharpener after hemming and hawing for nearly a year. I just thought that $200 for something to sharpen my chisels or plane blades was a bit high. After all, how good could it be? I have a diamond sharpening system and a bevel guide made just for it. Well, let me tell you that it is worth every single penny I spent buying it (and free shipping too!).
I have had it about 3 weeks now and what used to take me a looonggg time to do now takes about 15 minutes AND the chisels are sharper than they have ever been. I did not think that it was possible.
Even my neighbor down the street (who knows tools very well) was amazed at how sharp his rusted planer blades came out when I asked if I could sharpen them (just to see what might happen with blades that are REALLY BAD). I sharpened the 3 of them in about 20 minutes (they were rusty afterall) and returned them that day. He had to see the machine right away because he did not believe I could do it in such a short time. He even offered his chisels and other plane blades for me to sharpen (how nice of him).
Don't hesitate to purchase this machine if you hate sharpening your blades by hand. It is extremely easy and quick.
The only cavet I could think of is to be very careful and wipe around the machine frequently if you are sharpening a lot of blades. I did not think about that until I started smelling some burning phenolic. It ended up being the plastic base where you can bolt the machine down. The metal shavings (and there were a lot of them) were so hot that they piled on the plastic and started melting it. Just be careful!
Otherwise, don't even hesitate to buy this marvel. It saves so much time that you can spend on build something rather than trying to keep your tools in shape.
- If you need sharp chisels in a hurry, this device is for you. Just remember to buy the assortment pack of sand paper disks because those provided don't cover the gamut and they go quickly.
For plane irons, this tool has some uses - but not for the bigger Lie Nielsen plane irons. For the standard size irons, this gizmo does short work of lapping and gets you a fairly decent edge. But wider irons (and chisels) won't fit into the carriage. You can still do the lapping on this, which the more expensive Tormek sharpening system won't let you do at all. But for the final edge, You still need to resort to guides and stones or sandpaper on glass plates for larger irons.
There's a market out there for the tool that will do it all. Wonder who will be the first there.

5 comments about Makita BGA452Z LXT Lithium-Ion 18 Volt 4-1/2-Inch Grinder/Cutoff Tool (Tool Only).
- This is a very handy tool. Works great. I use it very often and can't really complain about it. It kind of goes through the batteries a little quicker than most of the LTX tools. Or maybe what I should say is that it requires a more charged battery. In other words once the battery is down so far it doesn't run this tool very well. But please understand that I usually am grinding off 3/4 inch stainless steel bolts or something of that nature. It's still awesome and great for just about any job.
- i own quite few 18v lithium ion makita tools and this grinder is one that i really appreciate. after reading other reviews, i wonder who would buy this with expectations of it performing on the same level as a corded model? i do a lot of interior steel stud framing and i use this grinder to cut the heads off of concrete anchors and to notch light gauge steel. this cordless grinder is GREAT for that and has a lot more torque than i expected. keep in mind that i understand tools and i know that having cordless convenience means some trade offs. it will stall out if i get stupid with it...but i use it for convenience and i know to take lighter cuts with it and to go slower than i would with a big corded unit. this thing is impressive and it will do a lot. i used it to sharpen lawn mower blades and it was great for that. i can also use it to cut thru chain links and small bolts and items that are away from electricity and would be difficult to run an extension cord to. it's a grat tool that can do a lot if you take your time and go slow on bigger tasks.
- Great product, very fast shipping. I was able to purchace it on Amazon cheaper than on ebay. I find makita tools to be very reliable and have a better feel than other brands. I have been an electrician for 24yrs. And an electrical contractor for 9yrs. I love the new lithium ion tools from makita I have tried the for myself this past year and will be switching from dewalt to makita for my employees.
- This was something that is a great tool for tile guys! So glad I was able to get this addition to my Makita stuff! JoeC
- This is a very handy tool indeed. It will consume batteries fairly quickly, so you would want the 3.0ah cells for extended use. Of course any cordless tool that is run continuously will chew battery power, so I can't say this is a negative at all. The tool itself I find very comfortable to hold and use and it is well balanced front to back when battery pack installed. Indicator lights will even tell you when a battery is running low so you can take it off and recharge before it completely depletes itself. I have only used it so far for small cutting tasks but the included grinding disc seems to power through most thinner metals at great speed. Thicker metal takes a little longer of course.
Very handy tool to have if you already have other LXT tools or batteries.
Ergonomic and simple to use.

- Excellent Product and service. I highly recommend this product for general home use. Quick, Fast Shipping!
Thanks, John
- This is great Delta equipment! Well, there is always exception to the rule.
Grinding stones are really good, and even tool rest is suitable. I use Veritas tool rest on one weal and Delta's on another. What most surprised me is that the grinder does not have arbor run-out. This is really uncharacteristic for Delta. Has Delta been sold out by Black & Decker?
- This is a fine little machine for the occasional user. I installed it on my work truck due to the size and low power draw since I run everything on a 2kw portable Honda Genset. The only drawback so far has been the difficulty in finding a 6inch x 3/4 face wire wheel brush with a reasonable price. The shroud had to be removed to install this to me convenient accesory. The most agravating thing was the amount of spacers and ingenuity I had to invest to make the arrangement work and maintain the " tool less " capability to be able to quickly switch to a buffing/polishing wheel. If your only intention is to use it for light duty sharpening ,( which basically is what's made for ) go for it, you won't be dissapointed.
- Extremely satisfied with the product and the speed of delivery. The grinder is well balanced and has low vibration. The speed control is excellent for sharpening my turning tools and then turn up the speed to grind heavy steel. Excellent price and the tooless change capability makes it easy to swap wheels. I would recommend to anyone over higher priced options.
- I have no significant complaints about the product. It is what you would expect for a middle of the road home shop grinder. The flexible light needs to be a few inches longer in order to fully illuminate the tool rest platform. There are shadows because the light doesn't reach far enough.
The fore and aft adjustments to the tool rest platform are poorly thought out and require a wrench. The supplied wrench doesn't reach the back bolts very well (there needs to be an offset bent into the wrench). You can't reach it either with a socket wrench because there is not enough clearance with the motor housing. I don't even see why they use hex bolts when it would be much better to have knobs.
The grinder itself runs smoothly and the variable speed works well.
My biggest complaint is that the Delta grinder stand that was sold with this grinder does not fit (bolt pattern doesn't line up) and I will have to fabricate an adapter plate.

- Third day I used the grinder it stopped working. Lucky I had a Dewalt approved repair shop close-by, they repaired it under warranty said that it was paddle-switch, it broke frequently.
- Wow this thing works great, ground off four bolts after 10 minutes, leaving time in between each grind for the tool to cool. comes with a grinding wheel. Very very impressed, will definetly buy more dewalt tools soon.
- This is a very nice grinder. I used it to sharpen some bush hog blades. It was some heavy grinding but this little grinder had plenty of power to handle the work. It accepts a wide range of accessories too. Would highly recommend it.
- This is one of the nicest grinders I've used. Plenty of power for what ever you need. I like this on because it's larger than most in the handle area. The paddle switch is convenient, though the safety can be a little annoying at times. But at least it shuts off if you drop it, assuming you don't have the trigger lock on. One bit of warning, I almost dropped it the first time I fired it up. It really takes off. I would recommend it.
- I purchased this product as I needed to get mortar off of concrete blocks. This tool works great and has saved me a ton of time vs using a hammer and chisel. This tool has tons of power without issues of overheating. As with any grinder, ear and eye protection are a must. I would highly recommend this product.

- This is the original Black and Decker Buffmaster. I bought mine in 1992 and it still works great.
- When I seen this add for the sander/grinder with a bag and gloves, I thought what a good deal,BUT after receiving the sander/grinder" thats all I received"!!! If your going to sell something that says promo with other things in the picture, then It should state what your buying!!!!
I'm very displeased!!!!!
- This is a great professional grade buffer like the ones we used in autobody school. Plus quick shipping from a reputable dealer. I shopped around a lot and couldn't beat this price. Absolutely satisfied.
- ive just started painting and old chevelle base coat clear coatlaquer a little wet sanding and this buffer made it look like glass no orange peel whatso ever . minimal swirl marks a $29.95 orbital buffer took them out in one pass.
- I used this product when I was doing automobile detailing for a paintless dent repair company. I have found it to be very reliable and love the variable speed adjust. As per other DeWalt products I've owned, it's very well made and can handle some abuse. Years later I bought one of my own after I left the company.
This is a powerful tool and can get away from someone not used to using it. Also it is a little hefty and will wear on your arms after extended use. I happen to like the weight as it seems to give me a little more control than one that is lightweight and just feels better in my hands.

5 comments about Porter-Cable 7424 3.7 Amp 6-Inch Variable-Speed Random-Orbit Polisher.
- This product does an excellent job on car and boat finishes. I would rate it a 5 if it came with a hook and loop polishing head. If you buy this be prepared to spend more on either microfiber bonnets or hook and loop systems that use foam pads and you need to have enough to keep separate pads for compound, wax and polish. Easily cuts the time to wax a car in half. Prior to this I had a sears 10" orbital buffer. Truthfully there is no comparison. Documentation with the unit gives no useful info on how to use it for waxing but you can find lots of information on the internet.
- I just received the Porter Cable 7424 and started it up. It worked fine at low speeds [1-2 on the dial] but got VERY unbalanced when any higher speed was desired. The reason was the counterweight [installed by the manufacturer] was specific for a 5" pad. Now, I asked myself 'why would the factory put in a counter balance for a 5" pad, then install a 6"?'. I checked, and 6" wieghts are available...$3.99+$6 shipping. But that didn't answer the question of 'why?'. I believe that these 'polishers' were originally intended to be supplied with a 5" head of some sort...either a polishing or sanding head. For whatever reason, a 6" pad was installed and the original weight not replaced with the corresponding correct counterweight.
So, be forwarned! THE 6" VARIABLE SPEED PORTER CABLE POLISHER 7424 COMES WITH A 5" COUNTERWEIGHT...to run properly a 6" COUNTERWEIGHT IS REQUIRED...AT ADDITIONAL COST!
- Polisher broke the second time I used it. I will be looking for another brand.
- A little heavy but very effective. I use it to apply wax, spread it and buff it clean. Have had no problems with it, great item.
- This is an amazing tool. I ujse it to keep our vehicles in showroom condition. It is a great tool.I would recomend this polisher to anyone that is looking for an easy to use tool.

- I used this buffer on a professional level non stop in a detail shop and never had anything but good things to say about it. We must have gone through 10 full/multi staged cars a day and it never broke down or complained. (the hardest part is getting the pads to center - the tool they include for that doesnt always work)
Get your self this buffer, a couple of pads of varying corseness and you'll be set to open up your own shop.
- Very well constructed, a quality product that should pay for itself the first couple jobs I do.
- Polisher works great1 The best part is the variable speed but I also like the ease at which I can change the buffers.
- I bought this buffer to buff out and polish a natural penetrating oil finish that I applied to a white oak floor I installed in my son's bedroom.
The Makita buffer is very powerful and smooth-operating. I learned not to use the trigger lock, because if this tool gets away from you (and it has the power to, if you get too close to an interfering object), you really want it to stop on its own and not go through the wall. This didn't happen to me (really), but it could have.
I had to choose between the Dewalt and this one. I'm sure the Dewalt is a great tool also, but I have no regrets from buying the Makita.
- I struggled with trying to buff out a 23 year old boat. After struggling with a hugely heavy old 1750 rpm polisher, I gave up and ordered the Makita. Wow, this almost made the job easy!! I cannot say enough good about this product.
It is the high quality standards I have come to expect from Makita. It is light at 6 lbs and is very easy to use. The trigger and ergonomic handle make it easy on the hands.
While the kit does not come with the foam pad as the picture would indicate, the wool pads (2) are of high quality.
