  1. I didn't receive this item. I live in Brazil and I asked to a friend of mine, who was in the United States, to bring it to me. The package was sealed, but the blades were not inside.

  1. A good product for the price

  2. I needed this set for some modeling and diorama work, and was finding it priced all over the board, including one place that was selling it for over $50!! It's exactly as advertised, and more than worth what they're charging for it. I paid this much for one box cutter! Just shows how much other sets are marked up, and that it pays to shop around on the Internet! What you see is what you get - a huge variety of blades and handles, plus a sharpener and a nice organizer/case. I'm very pleased with this find.

  1. This knife and blade combo is excellent. The blades last a lot longer than standard blades and they are SHARP!!!! I used one blade one day when I was cutting fiberglass insulation and at the end of the day, that blade still had life left in it. Highly recommended.

  2. get 100 of these, very sharp blades. and I like the gold bottom
dont know if the gold adds anything to the sharpness but I like it.

  1. They are very strong and efficient. For me they represent an excellent buy.

  2. I bought a pack of these to go with a new Dewalt hacksaw frame. They fit and work well, are easy to spot when dropped (thanks to the bright yellow paint job), and are reasonably priced. I also found this model (18 TPI) to be a good choice for general use.

  1. I like this saw very much, bought it for one job that had seven doorways for 250' of tiling in a kitchen/entryway. Worth every cent for this one use. Makes accurate cuts quickly, can't wait to need it again! I suggest an extra blade on hand for those sneaky finish nails you might miss in the door jamb that can dull your blade. Smooth operating, 4 stars for room for improvement.

  2. Great accessory for the Bosch 1640VS power saw, makes really smooth cuts. I used mine new for cutting door frames, smooth as silk!

  3. I used it to cut door jams for a flooring project. Very clean cuts, no sanding needed to dress up edges. Like another reviewer said, it's a good idea to have a spare on hand, it gets dulled pretty badly when you hit the hidden nails. Easy to attach/detach/swap sides.

After some trial and error, I used the "regular" (not fine tooth) blade to finish the cut when I hit a nail. It seemed to cut the nails quicker and didn't get dulled as badly. Start your cut with this blade and if you hit a nail switch to the "regular" blade. You'll still have a nice clean cut.

  4. Bosch FS200ABU 7-7/8-Inch 20 Teeth per Inch High Alloy Steel Flush Cutting Fine Tooth Power Handsaw Blade

I've used these blades for numerous construction projects with a Bosch 1640 saw. E.g., cutting off the bottom of door trim, to make room for ceramic tile. They have fine teeth, which makes for a smooth, but annoyingly slow cut. Next time, I'll get the blades with more teeth per inch, which cut faster.

The biggest con with these 20 teeth-per-inch blades is they wear out way too fast. This makes their initial high cost downright exorbitant. If they lasted longer, they'd deserve 4 or 5 stars.

Here's a tip to cutting the bottom of door trim. To cleanly remove 1/2" of trim, put a /2" piece of plywood on the floor next to the trim, and let the saw blade slide on the plywood as you cut.

  1. I bought this thinking it would be quick and easy to open plastic packages but it wasn't. Its a pain to use. You have to cut it first with the straight razor then you have to stick the front piece into the clam shell and try to open the package with ease. Didnt work.
My advise buy a utility knife,it works and faster.

  2. I've used this product almost a year. It's a LOT more useful than scissors to open boxes and plastic packaging..easy to use and sturdy, with a nice heft. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I had to buy a new one when the blade broke..as far as I know, the blade cannot be replaced.

  3. I had high hopes for this product but was very disappointed. It is 1) worthless 2) dangerous and 3) impossible to use. And yes, I did read the instructions. If you value your sanity, don't buy this product!

  4. I don't know why America uses this annoying plastic wrapping to wrap their products... everywhere else in the world uses much simple and easier way to do that.

Anyway. I always thought it would be nice to have a tool to open those very interesting plastic wrapping. But this opener didn't work as well as I thought it would. The top blade is definitely not sharp enough, or there is a problem in their design. I've never successfully cut open any plastic wrap with the top blade. The plastic wrapping tends to get stuck at the very end (inner end). It also seems like you will need to have strong arm to push the opener and I don't have strong arm.

For the bottom blade, it's VERY SHARP and the design is very bad. It's basically a tiny cutter. As you can imagine, using a very sharp cutter cutting hard plastic in the air is a very dangerous thing to do. It's kind of scary.

    In a nutshell, not recommended.

  5. This is useless to me. The blade that is used to puncture the package must be held in the extended position while using it. It is designed to be held with the thumb of the RIGHT hand. It is extremely awkward if not impossible to use it with the left hand, and I don't want to try cutting anything with my right (I am extremely left-handed).

Buy a Swiss Army Knife. I can get packages open much quicker with one of those!

5 comments about FORTUNE 001 "ACCUSHARP" KNIFE & TOOL SHARPENER.
  1. I've been using this knife sharpener for years. In fact, after about 8 years, I wore out the sharpening blades and had to buy another one. A nice feature is that you can take out one screw and reverse the blades to get more life out of them. Supposedly the blades are replaceable, but for roughly $10 spread over 8 years of daily use, I figured I could afford a new one!

If you read reviews under knives at Amazon, you'll soon figure out that many people sharpen their knives with steels and diamond hones. I'm no good with those things, but I do lots of cooking and I like my knives sharp.

The Accusharp was the answer for me. You don't have to be good at sharpening knives. Just rest your knife on the counter sharp-side-of-blade up and run the Accusharp down it firmly 3 or 4 times. Be careful if you do the light finger test for sharpness because the Accusharp will leave the blade lethally sharp! (If your knives are really dull, you will have to do it more like 10x the first time to bring them back.)

I have used my Accusharp successfully on chef's knives, paring knives, pocket knives, etc. Be advised, it is not for use on serrated blades (of course)!

The thing I like best about my Accusharp is that it takes no more than a few seconds, so I tend to sharpen my chef's knives and paring knives every time I use them. Just a couple of swipes and I have a fresh, labor-saving blade that makes my cutting chores easier.

I like these so much that I give them to people for gifts and use them for stocking stuffers at Christmas. The recipients often tell me later, "I love that thing you gave me to sharpen knives!"

  2. The reviews you find at other websites by professional chefs sold me--all raves. They were right. Don't spend more, this is really easy to use and my knives are razor sharp. A 10 second touch up every couple of days will keep a knife in great shape.

  3. I added this to my wishlist after reading that Cook's Illustrated rated it the highest of any sharpener (including expensive electric sharpeners) they tested. I haven't been disappointed at all -- my favorite chef's knife is back to its old, whisper-sharp edge, and even my oldest, dullest knife is sharper than it's ever been. It's incredibly easy and quick to use, no mess, there's literally not a single drawback, especially at the price!

Highly recommended to everyone who cooks regularly--I'll have one of these in my kitchen for the rest of my life.

  4. Although I have a Chef's Choice manual knife sharpener, I purchased the AccuSharp Knife Sharpener based on a recommendation from Cook's Illustrated.

The sharpener is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. You place the knife blade-up on a stable surface and drag the sharpener across the edge, at a 90-degree angle to the blade. One or two passes makes a lethally sharp edge on the knife.

The AccuSharp is quick and easy to use. It does a much better job sharpening my Sabatier knives than my other manual sharpener.

  5. I find this sharpener very handy and more reliable than my steel. I think the best edge can be gotten using both of them together.
