- I love this program. The exercises are very safe and Karen Voight does an excellent job of describing safety and good form while doing the exercises. I had the VHS of this and just "upgraded" the the DVD. I have done this program on and off for years.
I really appreciate the other reviews people have written for exercise programs. Keep up the good work.
- I love this work out, I had more energy and stamina after five workouts, feel great and look fabulous.
- I bought the 'Firm Arms and Abs' workout when it first came out in the early 90's. I just recently reordered it and 'Pure and Simple Stretch' on DVD. Karen Voight really does know her stuff. The workouts are very effective and because Voight is so good at what she does the exercises are not dated. The "arm and ab" program seems easy yet produces astonishing results. If you do the suggested 3 workouts a week you will start seeing a change at the end of two weeks.

5 comments about Stay Hungry.
- If you were to take the packaging of "Stay Hungry" at face value you would think that the film is primarily a body-building film and that Arnold Schwarzenegger is the film's star. Nothing could be further from the truth. The film's main focus is about a recently orphaned rich kid(Jeff Bridges)from Birmingham,Alabama who along with his business partners is trying to buy a gym so they can tear it down and build apartments. These plans fall along the wayside when he falls for the gym's cute gymnast(Sally Field) and developes a friendship with the champion bodybuider(Schwarzenegger). This film takes a while to warm to because of it's unique rhythms. Bridges' character isn't an easy one to warm to because he seems a little self-absorbed and impulsive. That said, credit director Bob Rafelson for taking difficult material and making it interesting. As for Arnold's performance, he's very charismatic and has little trouble tackling the dramatic elements required of him. It's a wonder he didn't attempt more challenging roles in his career as opposed to the action parts that he churned out. Plus, he plays a mean fiddle.
- Stay Hungry is a film about the new south trying to preserve the old south. This was the turning point for all of the stars.
The film takes place in Birmingham, Alabama. The Blake's have been part of Birmingham society forever. Craig (Jeff Bridges) recently lost his parents and are at odds with himself. He has fallen in with some shady real estate developers. Craig has been given the assignment to buy the last piece of property for a development. This building is a gym.
The gym contains an assortment of characters. The receptionist is Mary Kate Farnsworth (Sally Field), Joe Santo (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a former Mr. Austria training for the Mr. Universe Competition,
Joe and Mary Kate take his Craig and his friend society Dorothy to the lake. The lake is where Joe and Mary Kate go to relax. This is the beginning of the relationship between Craig and Mary Kate.
Craig gets further drawn into their culture when Joe takes him to meet some of his fiddling friends. This is a great scene with people who play music just for enjoyment.
Things start to go wrong for Craig when Craig's business partners trash the gym. Then Joe brings Mary Kate and Joe to a country club event. When Joe took Craig to his friends, the accept him for who he is but the country club set want Joe and Mary Kate to know they just guests.
The day of the Mr. Universe contest arrives. Troy and Vernon have been set up with hookers and Vernon and the hookers steal the prize money. When the contestants suspect something is wrong, a crazy chase through the streets happen. A lot of this is impromptu with the citizens of the city as observers.
In the end, Craig and Mary Tate find each other.
At the time of this film Sally Field was still in transition. Norma Rae was still three years away and Sybil had not aired yet. This was an early chance to see her potential. She shines as the little hill girl who escaped to the big city.
Jeff Bridges had some early success with films like The Last Picture Show. But he never became a star in his own right. Stay Hungry would be one of many great performances that he did not capitalize on.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was the world's most renowned body builder but his first two films were disastrous quickies designed to capitalize on his name. This was his first quality film. Arnold knew that he over his head with this part, so he played it as close to himself as possible. And that paid off for Arnold winning the Golden Globe and critics awards.
The cast featured numerous actors that made their name in the 80's and 90's, mostly on television. Robert Gilliland (Designing Women) played Craig's business partner. Ed Begley, jr. (St. Elsewhere / Arrested Development) played a country club friend. Fannie Flagg (The New Dick Van Dyke Show / Match Game) as a country club matron. Joanna Cassidy (Who Framed Roger Rabbit / Six Feet Under) is a society dilettante. Roger Mosley (Magnum PI) and Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street) are two guys who work at the gym. Scatman Crothers as Craig's houseman.
DVD EXTRAS :
Commentary by Bob Rafelson, Jeff Bridges and Sally Field
Video Introduction by Rafelson - 5 minute introduction where director Rafelson explains the origins of the film.
- I've been a fan of Arnold's for a long long time and enjoyed following his career as a bodybuilder and actor.
I recently re-read his autobiography "Education Of A Bodybuilder" which is a great look into the life of this interesting and dedicated individual. The movie "Stay Hungry" was mentioned so I figured I'd try to see if I could check it out. Fortunately my library had a copy so I gave it a shot.
My wife and I just finished watching it and all I could say was "That's an hour and forty minutes of my life I'll never get back".
It had a great cast and the basic idea of the story wasn't bad. It's about a rich heir from an old southern family who is involved with a bunch of seedy businessman who are trying to buy out some land to build a high rise. The last place that needs to be bought is a building w/ a "fitness spa" in it. The fellow (Jeff Bridges) who is trying to get the building ends up getting friendly with a bunch of the folks there, including falling in love w/ a quirky woman (Sally Field) and so he decides not to pursue the business deal much to the consternation (to put it nicely) of his business associates. Not a bad storyline but it really is done in a way that I found disjointed and silly to the point of almost insulting (I was insulted by the fact that I wasted my time). Perhaps it was a relevant approach during the era it was filmed (for example the old Peter Seller's Pink Panther movies don't stand up for me though were funny back when they were made, though other movies, such as Monty Python's "Holy Grail" is still as good today as it was back then, perhaps even better!).
I guess for fans of Arnolds (and Sally Field and Jeff Bridges) there is a nostalgic element that they might find attractive (which is why I gave it two rather than one star) but for me it was really not worth the time.
Obviously I'm one of a few people reviewing this who didn't like it so perhaps you should check it out and judge for yourself, I just wanted to share my impressions.
I've written many reviews here and this is only one of a small handful of negative reviews I've given but I felt compelled to share my thoughts on it.
On the flip side, if you are interested in early Arnold, check out "Pumping Iron" the 25 anniversary DVD, it's totally amazing and includes a 45 or so minute documentary on the making of "Pumping Iron" w/ lots of previously unreleased footage. Now THAT was a joy to watch and I'm surely watch that many many more times for years to come!
- Belive it or not arnold won a golden globe for this film. I shows him as well as several top bodybuilder from that era including Franco Columbu, and Ken Waller. See an early film with robert england "freddy Kruger" as Arnold's "grease man" LOL
- The editorial review here on Amazon said "Stay Hungry" never had much of a release. And it may be for a good reason. The movie never decides whether it's a drama or a comedy. Most of the time it's drama and occasionally it switches to farce. Unfortunately neither the drama or the comedy parts are in the least entertaining. The actors do a good job but the script is boring and pointless, except for the one scene, where Scatman Crothers yells at Jeff Bridges. Fans of Bridges, Field or Schwarzenegger may feel tempted to see this movie but my advice is stay away. It's one of the few movies I've considered not watching to the end.

5 comments about Kathy Smith - Timesaver - Lift Weights to Lose Weight.
- I love the different segments so that you can customize your workout. She gets you working up a sweat and you can really feel your muscles burning!
- This video provides a really good workout and is really flexible in allowing you to target specific areas or get a complete body workout.
- I love it. Is real and is great.I lost weight like I HOPPED and the results were great and fast.
- Over the years I have occasionally tried a Kathy workout and just never liked it. Her workouts always lacked something, mostly not challenging or interesting enough, I'm not quite sure, but they always left me dissappointed. One of those was Lifting Weights to Loose Weight 2 - not good at all. Because of this, I never tried this one, assuming it would be about the same, until I recently discovered it at my local video store and I can't believe how much I like it. This one is REALLY good including her advice! I'm mean I love it!
It is a total body weight workout that allows you to either do it Jari-style (lighter weights, lots of reps and pulses), or Cathe-style (heavy weights, rest, multiple sets) all in the same workout. How clever. It kept my interest throughout and I felt it the next day. I guess it's worth weeding through the bad to find the few good workouts Kathy does have.
- I don't generally like weight-lifting, because I'd rather be moving around to exercise, but I try to do it two to three times a week because it's good for me, and this is the video I use. It's a decent challenge and I like the core balance additions to the lifting. I like being able to alternate between the lower and upper body sections for variety. However, there are some badly done production elements. The menu section is incomplete, not listing all the sections available in the workout. Also, the artsy camera movements in the stretch sections make me dizzy, and I skip over them. Still, the lifting is a challenge and a necessary evil!

3 comments about Bigger, Stronger, Faster*.
- Clever, Funny, Touching!!! An absolute MUST see. A family touched by the use of steriods, a parent's perspective through tragedy and triumph. The good, the bad, the ugly and anything you can imagine in between. This movie is so objective it begs you to have your own opinion about the topic. Don't miss it, buy a copy for your local high school or library... Tons of acurate information that will benefit the masses!
- This movie is outstanding. One of the best documentaries I've ever seen. The movie uses performance enhancing drugs as a means for taking an inside look at all of American culture. Chris Bell has a really fascinating take on the issue.
I love sports and weightlifting, and this movie really leaves you thinking. Sure using PEDS is cheating, but is this any different from a concert musician using beta blockers before a performance, or American fighter pilots taking amphetamines (when no other country uses them)??
Fantastic movie, see this!
- "Bigger, Stronger, Faster", the new documentary from Chris Bell, and produced by many of the people who have worked on Michael Moore's documentaries, is a very entertaining, level-handed look at the use of steroids in America.
"Bigger" is better than your average documentary for two key reasons. Chris Bell is a likable, very real guy and he guides us through this maze of information much like he probably learned about it in the first place, giving us an in depth look into the use of steroids and how they have affected both the practice and perception of sports in America, and to a lesser extent, the world.
The second, and perhaps more important reason this film sticks out is because it comes from a personal place in Chris' life. As he quickly explains during the beginning of the film, he was the middle of three children, all boys, who grew up with a loving, overweight mother and a loving, but busy with work father. In an attempt to stand out from the rest of the kids, each of the brothers decides to take up weight lifting and try to become famous as wrestlers, hoping to follow the likes of their heroes, Hulk Hogan, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger into the limelight. They each transform their chubby bodies into bulky muscle powerhouses, but the fame is still fleeting.
Chris' older brother, Mark, actually makes it into the WWE, but his role is that of the guy who always gets beaten up by the more powerful and more famous wrestlers. He doesn't last long. So he starts to take steroids.
Chris decides the way to make it into the limelight is to move to Southern California, to be closer to the action, and the auditions. He naturally ends up at Venice Beach and gets a job working in Gold's Gym, the place made famous by many weightlifters and body builders, by Schwarzenegger and Stallone. In a particularly telling moment, Chris speaks with one of the gym members, a man well past his prime who continues to work out at the gym, and lives in his small van in the gym parking lot. You can tell from the expression on Chris' face he sees the similarities between them as he looks at the guys living quarters. You can almost see him pray that he won't end up in the same situation; homeless, working out, continuing to hope for stardom.
Chris' younger brother, Mike, had development problems growing up, so he decided to follow his other brothers into weightlifting and bodybuilding. This focus clearly helped him to improve his life and his attention to detail, but he also decides to try to improve the workouts through the use of steroids.
Chris knows his brothers use steroids, but he has stayed away from them. He wonders why one of three children would feel the need to do things the 'right' way, the harder way, and stay away from the drugs? This is what leads him on the journey through this documentary.
The best scenes involve Chris and his family. On a visit home, he talks to his mom, a perfectly likable, overweight, middle-aged woman who spends her life as a stay-at-home mom. As they talk, she makes a batch of her famous bar cookies for a local high school sports team. It is unclear why she still makes these for the local high school, but it is clear the bars are both very good and not low fat. Chris claims his mother doesn't know that his brother use steroids. She may not admit it, but you can tell she knows. Late in the film, Chris has dinner with his brothers and mom and dad and steers the conversation towards steroids, hoping that his brothers will finally admit it to their parents. Mom asks a few questions, giving the brothers an opportunity to come clean. But they keep their secret. And so does mom.
As he meets with and talks to his brothers, we learn each of their stories and they couldn't be more different.
But Chris also seeks to understand the influence of steroids throughout sports. He speaks with many people, both pro and con, amateur and professional, and it appears that everyone is using some sort of enhancement. As the tagline for the film states "if everyone is doing something, can it be illegal?"
He talks about how heartbroken he was when he learned Hulk Hogan was using steroids, despite all of the famous wrestler's encouragement to get bigger through hard work. He talks about former NFL player Lyle Alzado's sickness, which the NFL Player attributed to the use of steroids. Interestingly, the footage from an interview used in the film features Maria Shriver in her pre-Mrs. Ahnuld career. He talks about Stallone and interviews both Carl Lewis and Floyd Landis. These moments, interspersed with graphics, and other amusing methods of presenting the message, combined with the personal side of the story, make for compelling viewing.
There are also a few scenes from an old after school special featuring Ben Affleck dealing with the side effects of using steroids. These scenes provide a welcome moment of laughter because they are so over the top and heavy handed.
I think Chris may have actually found his entry into the limelight. I could easily see him parlaying this film into a television series or series of specials, ala Morgan Spurlock. They have similar personalities and Spurlock has made a number of films and season 3 of "30 Days", the series of documentaries he makes for FX is currently airing. Chris is an extremely pleasant, likable person who clearly listens to his subjects, whatever their position, taking everything in. As he presents both sides of the argument, he appears to be genuinely interested in what they have to say, waiting for them to finish and for his mind to process before forming an opinion of his own.

- This tape is without a doubt highly addictive! In fact I have proceeded to buy the entire Ripped line after trying this one! It's an intense high calorie burning strength routine. You feel like your getting a personal training session right in your own home! I highly recommend this and have already spread the word to anyone who would listen on how great this tape is! I love how it's broken down into 5 minute segments. You move from one area of the body to another with complete ease. Very easy to follow, and just burns them muscles like nobody's business! I've done this tape 10x now and am still sore after each time! My muscles have really begun to pop threw. I am stronger, leaner and much more toned in just 4 weeks! Don't hink twice about this, just buy it and prepare to be sore!!!!
- I own all of Jari's workouts and while they are somewhat similar in style, they each have unique features. The Slim & Lean is not at all the same workout as Ripped to the Core like another reviewer is suggesting. Slim & Lean is like the original Ripped just the advanced version, very intense working one muscle group at a time. Ripped to the Core is mostly compound exercises (multiple muscles and exercises at the same time). It also contains exercises that really kick up your heart rate. It's an excellent total body workout that burns tons of calories and exhausts your muscles in about an hour. For some reason this never gets boring for me and I really like Jari's personality.
- This workout uses just about every muscle in your body. Jari is kind with beginners and makes sure you work at your own pace. There are variations of exercises for people with injuries or limitations. Very motivational! Just beware that there isn't really any cardio here. Excellent toning video!!!
- Wow! This one is so challenging for me. I find this to be more of a calorie burner than Ripped & Chiseled! The spider push ups are hard. Great ab section and you can tell you are burning fat. About 24 to 48 hours later you can feel soreness in muscles you didn't even know you had. Great total body toner!
- Ok first off I have all of her DVD's they are amazing, she is an inspiration and her team is great, I love doing them in the morning, I no longer feel DOMS even after increasing the weight which is odd, but who cares she is in the results business, "Love" her!

5 comments about Get Ripped! with Jari Love: Slim & Lean.
- This was my first venture into the Jari Love workouts. I'm hooked. I bought the set of three (Slim & Lean, Ripped, and Ripped to the Core) and tried the Slim and Lean first. All the moves are really simple. No fancy, hard to follow footwork or expensive equipment is required. (I don't consider the handweights expensive.) And to me, that's important because if I can't keep up with the move or they're confusing the video will do nothing but collect dust.
The only thing I didn't like about the video was the breaks of instuction between each track. There is a man's voice and another man demonstrating the move. This is helpful for the first and second time using it, but once you got the moves down (again, they're really not complex) you don't need the instuction.
Jari is very positive and encourages you to keep going. I like that there are always someone else doing a modification.
Great video!
- I am such a fan of Jari; this was actually the first Ripped workout that I purchased. The nice thing about this one is that your really focus on one area at a time, as opposed to doing the compound moves in some of her other DVD's. I actually alternate out this one with Ripped 1000 and it really works. I would recommend combining this workout with some cardio- it's a good workout, and you'll definitely break a sweat, but it doesn't so much get your heart rate up and doesn't work as well if it's the only workout you are using. Jari Love is my favorite, I would recommend Ripped DVD's to anyone- just bought another one, in fact!
- I think Jari Love is great. She motivates me greatly. I own all of her workouts, but this one I didn't like right away (hence the 4 stars), but once I found the right modifications for me it became a favorite. During the leg sections, I add upper body movements whereever it fits in, like shoulder press, lateral raise, biceps curls, etc.. During the upper body sections, I put on ankle weights and add leg side lifts, knee lifts, etc. This turns this into an extremely efficient workout for me burning lots of calories and getting my heart rate way up even though it's not cardio. I had been stuck on a plateau for a while using heavy weights only and this one got me past it. The muscle definition you get from this high rep workout is amazing.
- This was my first DVD by Jari love. I liked her style a lot so few months later I bought Ripped to the Core. I'd like to alternate Jari's DVDs on my Strength day but I'd always end up just alternating them on Sundays when I have 60-90 min. to exercise. I'm pretty sure that if I would have been consistent with those 2 DVDs 2-3 times/week for the last 9 months or so, I would have been ripped by now [that's assuming I ate 'CLEAN']. I watch what I eat but I'm not strict. I lost 18 lbs. and went down from size 14 to size 6...so I'm making progress. I'd like to slim down some more and have muscle definition. On workdays, I could easily be disciplined to stay within 1600-1800 calories/day but on the weekends, I eat whatever I want. I don't overdo it though 'coz I feel guilty...I'm aware that I can just pick sections from each DVD that would just add up to 1/2 hr-40 min. each time including warm up, cooldown and stretch but it just doesn't feel right chopping up Jari Love's whole routine. I feel like it wouldn't be as effective....But if I had that extra hour before going to work, I sure pick Jari's DVDs 'coz I feel REALLY worked out when I'm done with them. This is a challenging but doable routine. There's lots of modifications so there's no room for boredom [like overloading the muscles when it gets too easy]. I highly recommend this IF you have the time.....
- I had used other dvd's to get me started about a year ago...Then I heard about Jari Love and thought I would give her workout a try. I am in the best shape I have been in since before high school! I love this dvd as well as a few others of hers... I have seen such amazing results. I found this dvd easy to follow and a great workout, but not one I could not keep up with. I really like how different techniques are shown since I have a knee problem. Also, they show the weights they use which is nice as well. I would highly recommend this dvd.

- I love Jari, she inspires me greatly. I own all of her workouts and while they are somewhat similar, each one has different challenges. I think this one is my most favorite. As an added benefit it gets my heart rate up as if I was doing cardio. I feel just great afterwards. It breaks weight lifting plateaus caused by old style lifting of only heavy weights with too much resting in-between. I'm also very impressed with Gaylene, one of the background exercisers, the 57 year old with the most awesome body.
- I LOVE Get Ripped and Chiseled! It's a no nonsense and thorough workout. The exercises cover all bases, leaving no muscles untouched. You can rest assured that this hour of exercise is well worth your time.
- This dvd is great...you get a good workout with weights without going to a gym. The dvd can be more challenging by adding weight & doing pushups military style. Results can be seen within 4-6 weeks and if you want more cardio she does a cardio 1000 dvd as well ....also great!
- good workout
simple easy to understand
not a lot of unnecessary talk or background
not for beginner
- Ok another amazing Jari Love work out, I am thinking of going up to Calgary in Canada just to see her gym! She has made me into a "fan"natic of hers. I love her. I work out by doing "Slim and Lean" one day, run the next, "Ripped and Chisled," more running, "Ripped to the Core," REST DAY hallelujah, and then "Ripped 1000." I can't wait for her to come out with more..... like a bootcamp style workout. She rocks! Thanks J. Love!

5 comments about Pumping Iron (25th Anniversary Special Edition).
- I remember having seen this when it first came out. Of course I was much younger then, and who would have ever guessed that Arnold would go on to become not only an action movie mega-star (Conan, Predator, Commando, True Lies with hottie Jamie Lee Curtis! , etc.) but the Governor of California no less! The movie has the qualities of a documentary, but the main reason I bought it is that my 17-year old son has been lifting weights for about one year and is really getting into it. After seeing this movie, he's more "pumped up" than ever! And so am I!! I've been working out for about 7 weeks quite intensively, and now I want to work out even harder. This is a must see for anyone who can use that extra dose of motivation.
- This is a very entertaining "documentary" for anyone in the bodybuilding community, and probably fairly entertaining for anyone else.
The special features have some great clips and insight to the movie that are definitely worth seeing.
You are missing out if you do not watch them.
- What can I say, its an Arnie classic!!! The additional material is great as well, gives a really good insight into the movie and the time it was made.
- I enjoyed this movie very much. It gives you an idea of how the body builders of that era got ready for comp by training, eating, posing practices, etc. Even if you arent a future body builder, it is worth the watch. The infamous scenes of Arnold smoking pot, and claiming that the "pump" is better than "cumming" are classic.
- Awesome movie now im only 16 but this movie is really inspiring and when i got it in the first few days i watched it 3 times. The fact that they made Ken Waller look like the bad guy was funny and the scene with Mike Katz with his son and daughter was funny comparing his son to him now. Great movie and very accurate to a point. =)

5 comments about Firm:Total Body Transfirmation System.
- I've been using the Tranfirmation System for a month now and I love it. I'm always a little sore the next day after each workout, but that's just letting me know my muscles are being challenged and are sculpting. My husband says that I'm becoming more curvy, and that's all I need to know that this workout system is working for me! I would recommend this to everyone!
- I am sure this product will be great for me and my family. All three of us were looking frorward to its arrival, less than one week! I slipped and fell, broke 2 ribs and cracked my pelvis, so I guess it will be a while before I can do the workouts--but my grandddaughter (3) loves to bring the weights to me. SHE is getting a great workout :)
- I bought this Total Body Transfirmation System and have been using it for 2 weeks. Love it, especially the Hi-Def Sculpt by Annie Lee. If you get it thru Amazon, you have to order extra weights.
- I think this product is great! Although, as an extremely obese and out of shape person, I don't recommend trying to do any of these videos except Hi-Def sculpt if your obese or overweight, because the other videos are pretty fast paced, I tried doing cardio party, I could only do 15 minutes, and I felt like I was going to pass out after.
I still think this product is worth it though because when I lose more weight, I'll definitely be able to enjoy the other workouts, and I'm really looking forward to that too! I really love the Hi-def sculpt workout, it's slower paced, but still gets me to work up a sweat, and it's not boring to me!
A faster paced video, but not as fast as cardio party that I like is Total Body Toner, it doesn't come with this set, but I like that one too.
The reason that I gave this review a 4 is because this kit only comes with 3lb weights, and two 1lb weights, but the women in the videos are using 5lb weights or more. I'm thinking of buying a set of weights, but probably not the ones that go with this set, making the ones that come with it practically useless to me, or I could pay like $25 at The FIRM's website for like 4 more 1lb weights... I haven't decided yet.
- I just got this the other day and am thrilled with the convenient carrying case. I've only had a chance to do one video - the Body sculpting one - but I really liked that video. I can feel it in my muscles today that I had a good workout. I can't wait to do the Cardio Dance Party tonight!
My only disappointment with it would be with the weights. I like the weights and how they're designed, but they are a bit misleading when they say they can fit up to 8 lbs. That's only for ONE weight. In my workout last night for body sculpting, I wanted to use 5 lb weights. I found I couldn't do it because it doesn't come with enough weight disks. Had to go with only 3 pounds - the max you can put on there for 2 weights that comes with the kit. Bummer.

- You will definitely work up a sweat with these work outs. The only thing I don't like about this DVD is the warm-ups. But it's necessary, and I'm just eager to jump into a hard work out. The 3rd work out is the best!! It's really hard. I'm trying to stick to it 4-5 times a week but I'm big on cardio. Good luck to all. Overall, it's worth buying!!!!
- It's an intermediate workout that's pretty intense. It'll get you sweating. I can only do the first level so far and I am a regular exerciser (5+ days a week) so it's challenging. I have only used it about 5 times but am noticing more muscle definition.
- Jillian, Bob, & Kim do a great job working your a** off!!!! You sweat, your muscles hurt, and you feel great. The warm-ups and cool downs are great too. It is also nice to have the cast of TBL working out with you. I hate it when you have all these skinny little b**ches working out on videos, and it makes you fell worse. I love the workouts, and I highly recommend this video to anyone seriously wanting to get in shape!!!!!!!!!!
- I turned on this DVD this morning for the first time (after I finished working out to another of Jillian's DVD's). For starters, the "background" music is too loud. Secondly, the trainers, especially Jillian, show the correct way to do the exercise maybe one time, and then you get to watch the class participants the rest of the time, and several of them are not doing the exercise correctly and/or have bad form. I'm new to exercise, so I need more proper instruction than this. I'm not giving up on this DVD yet, I'll actually try the workouts before I decide whether or not to keep it. I've been doing Jillian's "The Complete Workout for Beginners" for the last 6 weeks, and it's a good workout, but it's time for me to move on.
- I have used several sculpting videos in the past and none have met my expectations. I bought this one and it is fantastic. Very challenging, yet can be easy enough for beginners. They target all levels. I was very impressed.
Try it out, you will like it.
