5 comments about Denise Austin: Fit & Firm Pregnancy.
- I had read other reviews that this workout DVD was a little easy for those of us who work out on a regular basis. Something still told me to order it (thinking maybe I'd use it later in my pregnancy), and now I'm very glad I did! When we found out we were having twins, my doctor put the kibosh on my harder workouts I'd been doing up to that point (i.e., no more cardio kickboxing!). This DVD is perfect for me, as it's nice and low impact, but still lets me feel like I did something, and gives me that mood boost that working out provides. Since we are a unique group, wanted to share that if you are expecting multiples, this might be the DVD for your pregnancy too!
- If you can take her annoying, "soothing" voice, the workout is probably pretty good. I could only watch it a few time b/c as my hormones increased, the more annoyed I got with her. I almost threw the remote at our plasma tv when I first heard her utter "I worked out everyday of MY pregnancy - even on the day I delivered my first." Luckily, my husband was there to restrain me.
- I rented this from the Library to check it out and yes its a little easy but its great. You do sweat but its not where you are out of breath. Fun workout DVD~!
- I liked that this DVD had different workouts for different stages of pregnancy. Since I was a moderate exerciser before pregnancy with a background in dance, I found the routines a bit boring. This video would be good for a pregnant woman who has not exercised in a while or is a beginner.
- I was really excited to get this one in the mail ,but once I did and started the routine I was really bored! I am pregnant and want to feel like I have exercised. This video should be labeled beginner, beginner!

- This is a great workout for people of almost any age and so much fun! It is excelent for the body, the mind and the soul. All my other workout DVDs were so solemnly boring that they all went straight to the trash. From now on I will only use Richard's. The *live* band is a great add-on and the music pieces are all great. Richard Simmons is THE BEST!
- AND BELIEVE ME ITS ABOUT TO KILL ME. BUT! I LOVE IT. I ONLY WORKED OUT 5 MIN. THE FIRST TIME. AND RICHARD SIMMONS SAID "THAT WAS OUR WARM UP, NOW LETS GET STARTED"......WHEWWW WEE, I HAD THE TAPE BUT, REALLY WANTED THE DVD, SO I AM VERY GLAD TO HAVE IT. AND I AM WORKING OUT WITH IT. I FEEL BETTER THEN I HAVE IN A LONG TIME. I DON'T DO THE FULL WORKOUT...BUT! I DO WORKOUT UNTIL I START BREATHING HARD,THEN I WORK 5 MORE MIN. AND QUIT. IT IS A GREAT DVD AND I PLAN ON GETTING MORE FOR SOME OF MY FRIENDS..
- I bought this DVD to replace the days that I do not get to the gym. I am in my mid 20s and enjoy the music on the DVD. I think the music is great but I wish they would update the people and background. You can clearly tell that this was made back in the 80s. Though I enjoy the older music I would like to see people in newer aged clothing, newer aged backgrounds, and newer aged hair styles. This is just my personal opinion. I do sweat when using this DVD. However, I add in some extra moving around to make sure that I am sweating enough. Overall the songs are great and so is Richard, but the clothing, background, and hair styles could use some updating.
- This is the best exercise DVD I own, it makes exercising fun. Since I have bought this DVD my Mom, Sister, and Niece have picked up a copy of their own. Now we are all sweatin off the pounds!
- Over the years, I have attended various gyms, but have always been frustrated at the choice of music and generally in instructor's lack of rhythm and timing. Richard Simmons is different! Although the music and moves are rather corny (intentional I'm sure), they are fun and quite easy to do. I recommend this dvd

5 comments about Callanetics 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours - Amazon.com Exclusive.
- All excercise videos work but this video is very unique. The leader is an expert motivator and expert in her field. You will also find blogs devoted to this specific workout, they cal it "10/10". I watched my mother's body trasform over a short period because of this video.
- I ordered an exercise cd of "callanetics". I had a vcr version years ago, and really enjoyed the program. It was exactly the same video, just what I wanted.
It was advertised as such, and I ordered it holding my breath that I would get what I expected. I did. Thank you very much.
- Callan Pinckney kinda cracks me up. But, she keeps me going. This video is pretty darn challenging. It took me until my 7th time to actually complete every repetition. And it worked muscles I don't usually work. I'm going to say this video delivers results. I also found this to be really relaxing. A nice relaxing video to do before going to bed
- THE GENERAL IDEA OF CALLANETICS IS TO DO THE STRETCHES INSPIRED BY PILATES OR BALLET AND TO HOLD THE POSE FOR A REALLY LONG SUPER STRETCH. THIS IDEA APPARENTLY LENGTHENS AND STRENGTHENS THE LARGER MUSLES AND IS SUPPOSED TO WORK QUICKLY.
WELL CALANETICS DEFINATELY IMPRESSED ME...ESP THE BEFORE AND AFTER PICS...AND HER BODY SURE IS GREAT FOR ANY AGE! BUT I FELT AWKWARD DOING THIS DVD..DID IT 4 TIMES (4HRS) REALLY FELT NO "RESULT".
WHEN I DO JUST 10 TO 20 MINUTES OF PILATES EVERY OTHER DAY..AFTER JUST ONE WEEK I WALK DIFFERENT AND FEEL TALLER AND TIGHTER...SO THIS DVD IRONICALLY ENOUGH INSPIRED ME TO GO BACK TO PILATES B/C I KEEP THINKING WOW IF I GAVE PILATES 1 HOUR WORKOUT SESSIONS I COULD MOVE MOUNTAINS!
I DO NOT REGRET BUYING THIS THOUGH B/C SHE STRESSED WORKING OUT THE LARGE MUSLES AND I HAVE LEARNED SOME NEW EXCERCISES I NEVER THOUGHT OF BEFORE. SHE ALSO HELPS ME WITH MY PILATES FORMS B/C CALAN IS SUCH A GREAT TEACHER AND REALLY EMPHASISES FORM I FIND MYSELF DOING BETTER FORMS WHEN I AM DOING PILATES.
I KNOW HOW QUICKLY PILATES WORK SO ONCE I GET FIRM QUICKLY I THINK I WILL RETRY THIS ONE...RIGHT NOW I AM OUT OF SHAPE AND CALLANETICS EVEN AFTER ONE HOUR MAKES ME FEEL TENSE, ANNOYED AND INCOMPLETE. IT IS QUITE FRUSTRATING WHEN I CANT DO THE STRETCHES AND DOES NOT FEEL LIKE IT FLOWS. WHEN I DO ANY OF THE PILATES DVDS...EVEN THE 10 MINUTES ONES...I FEEL INVIGORATED, ALIVE AND MOST OF ALL FLEXIBLE AND FIRM.
- I started using DVD this last spring to get in shape for a cruise I was going on, and was astonished to see how fast it worked. If the other reviews make you think that only older people use this, forget it. I'm 21 and naturally slim/tall, but nothing has EVER toned me like this does. I love hiking and outdoor activity, so it's not like I'm out of shape, but these excercises seriously make me sweat.
About the only negative thing (depending on your disposition) is that sometimes, when Callan is yapping in her british accent about how HER behind is even HIGHER than the line, etc, and you're sweating and killing yourself trying to do a seemingly simple move, you may have the urge to throw something at her through your TV screen. I usually just settle for telling her to shut up. :) Honestly though, buy it, and use it 3 times a week, and you WILL see & feel major improvements!

5 comments about Walk Slim: Fast and Firm 4 Really Big Miles.
- Leslie is in rare form, if you will pardon the pun. I am so glad she did most of the work out herself. She had different people with her some young some old. I have a bad back so I have to just walk on occassion, some days I can do the whole thing, it depends on the day, and she is very forgiving and lets you know that, she isn't as structured or phony like most fitness "guru's". This is my 4th tape, plus I go to exercise on demand and do those as well. I love them all. Again, anyone that is that "real" and cares that much is ok with me, and I am staying fit. At 60 it is getting a little more difficult. She does an excellent job, I give this one, which is a good mixture of work outs. 5 stars. Love it and love her.
- I have at least 25 of Leslie Sansone's Video and DVD. I many of the older out print like walk away the stress the 1 mile for abs etc. I wish she would put those on DVD. This one is one of her best.Yes she talks no stop for almost an hour. She uses her basic 4 steps but it goes by fast. I like the music she uses for her 4 the mile. I wish she would use it more often. I am thankful for Leslie because she gets those of us up and out of the chair. It has been because of Leslie that I have been able to at the Firm into my routine. And I am using the older firm tapes/dvds and they are long.... but thanks to leslie I am keeping up. I will say this about Leslie Sansone I feel like I know her and her walk leaders.
- I love it. Sansone is a great motivator... she keeps you going the entire workout!!! The little jogging really boosted the walk and the band is just awesome... Looking forward to Leslie's next DVD - keep them fast and fun!
- i enjoy the dvd very much. it makes it a lot easier for me to get my walking in.
- I'm never disappointed with Leslie's videos and this one goes on my top favorites, definitely an upgrade as far as bringing it up a notch from the 3 Mile! I recommend it to anyone who's ready for more! And it came with a stretchie!

5 comments about Dance off the Inches: Hip Hop Party.
- This workout is terrific for someone as spastic as me. At first, I had trouble picking up the moves, but it didn't take me long to get the routine together. Now I have to work on my style. I do wonder if these are hip hop moves, but it's so much fun I don't care.
- now i have a TON of workout videos and have rented a TON more but this one BY FAR knocked my socks off. it was SOOOOOO much fun, the most fun i have ever had while working out and i felt so good about myself, even when i was alone. i didnt watch the step guide but still picked up the faster moves. would have gotten more out of it if i knew what she was going to do but that is my fault for not doing the step guide first. i would have caught into her moves faster. HIGHLY recommend this workout, it was a blast and i had so much fun i got through the whole thing. recommended for beginners as you can stop early after the first few sections or even advanced as you can really put your whole body into it, its all up to how much you put yourself into it. good workout for all stages. i feel good and im looking better. GET THIS ONE!
- This DVD is the best hip hop workout DVD I've ever had. The moves are so much fun! The video doesn't take itself too seriously and the moves are easy enough for a novice to learn. Jennifer Galardi is a great dancer and is not over the top like other dance instructors. I would recommend this DVD for anyone's home exercise practice.
- fun to do the instructor has a great personality. I really like working out to this one.
- Jennifer is great and provides all the cues and instruction you need to follow along for step changes and the dance style is alot of fun. Do not be too daunted by the setps and you can pick up the routines fairly quickly.
Also I was not too concerned whether the moves or music were true "hip-hop" or not because the workouts were fun and I feel like I am dropping some weight.
The fun and the instruction makes this a very worthwhile DVD.

5 comments about The South Beach Diet Super Charged Workout.
- The basic set up of the workout was fine and I didn't find it too challenging in terms of length or many of the movements. However, I have a knee problem and there were too many squat like movements and ones putting most of the weight on a bent knee. I had to give the dvd to my daughter since it is something I cannot use.
- This video is great, it starts out nice and slow for the beginners and as you progress so does the
video. Love it...
- I love this DVD. It's a good workout and it's not too much and can be easily done.
- I love "The South Beach Diet Super Charged Workout". I believe using this video along with proper diet and attitude can help transform someone's life! There are some areas that could be improved on this workout DVD. But because I feel it can be such a strong tool, I am giving it 5 stars.
"The South Beach Diet Super Charged Workout" DVD is a supplement to "The South Beach Diet Super Charged" book but can be used as an exercise plan without using the diet. To achieve best results, reading the book is very helpful. The book explains in depth how to maximize fitness results with interval training and core conditioning performed in a short period of time. With this knowledge you can optimize your results with the DVD.
The DVD begins with an introduction from Dr.Agatston in which he explains that new research has shown how interval training in short durations can provide greater benefits than lengthy workouts. The workouts follow the introduction. There is a 20 minute cardio interval training workout and 3 fifteen minute total body workouts to select from. In the book Dr. Agatston uses walking for the cardio training but gives alternatives. In the video the instructor varies exercises using simulated jump roping, lunges etc. Each burst is followed by a recovery period. For example you might do 30 seconds of jumping jacks followed by a 45 second recovery period of marching in place. The 3 total body workouts follow the exercises given in the book and evolve in difficulty from Phase 1 to Phase 3. Agatston also suggests a leisurely walk of 15- 20 minutes on the days you do the total body workout.
What I love about the program is it is so doable. Not many of us can or want to spend a lot of time exercising, so short exercise with maximum results is very desirable. Also the variety of exercises keeps things moving and interesting. Instructor Kris Belding has an easy style that is motivating but not over the top. And if you ever do decide you don't want to listen to her an audio set up option on the DVD allows for music only. I also felt the exercises were very effective. I could really feel my core in Phase 1 and the interval training in the cardio section had me working hard but not so hard that I felt I needed to pass out on the couch!
As much as I love the DVD, there are a few issues with it. The biggest drawback on the DVD is the modifications for beginners. These are not well done. Beginners will have to work out their own modifications on some of these moves, because in some cases the modifications shown are high impact. In the jump rope interval, for example, the woman demonstrating the beginner modification is doing a full out side to side high impact hop/jump! In the book Agatston starts you out on a Phase 1 cardio but on the DVD there is only one cardio choice that is at an intermediate fitness level. This may be to much for beginning exercisers. I think 3 cardio choice levels should have been included on the DVD.
Another critique of the DVD is the setting. It's a large room with a huge picture of the cover of "The South Beach Diet Super Charged" book on the wall. Ummmm, I think a beach setting or a prettier studio setting would be nice.
The DVD also has a bonus section which includes an interview with instructor Kris Belding, an overview of the library of South Beach diet books on the market and South Beach Diet tips to keep you on track.
Overall I have to say I love the DVD. It gets the job done in a short amount of time. Very energizing! Just keep in mind you may have to modify.
~ Lee Mellott
- The South Beach Super Changed Workout is excellent especially when coupled with the South Beach Diet! You only get out of it what you put in it!

- It is wonderful to have "Sweatin' to the Oldies" on DVD. I have most of them on VHS, but this is the way to go!
- This set is great! The DVDs are set in progression of workout intensity. The exercise is low impact and DEFINITELY aerobic. Richard Simmons is my hero in planning an exercise video with a mix of body shapes as his crew. I love this set!
- Richard does it right, every time. Campy and high energy, but do it daily and you will trim down. I have!! Nice to see real people flaws and all doing what it takes to get into shape.
- Thank you Richard for all your good work. These videos are a bargain that I would highly recommend to anyone. Great music and easy to follow dance moves. The music and dancing make it so much fun. The nice thing is you can do this in the privacy of your home.
- I already knew the workouts were good...but I love all the extra footage! I also like the little box all the DVDs come in. Wonderful set. Great for gifts or self.

5 comments about The Biggest Loser Workout: Power Sculpt.
- You will definitely work up a sweat with these work outs. The only thing I don't like about this DVD is the warm-ups. But it's necessary, and I'm just eager to jump into a hard work out. The 3rd work out is the best!! It's really hard. I'm trying to stick to it 4-5 times a week but I'm big on cardio. Good luck to all. Overall, it's worth buying!!!!
- It's an intermediate workout that's pretty intense. It'll get you sweating. I can only do the first level so far and I am a regular exerciser (5+ days a week) so it's challenging. I have only used it about 5 times but am noticing more muscle definition.
- Jillian, Bob, & Kim do a great job working your a** off!!!! You sweat, your muscles hurt, and you feel great. The warm-ups and cool downs are great too. It is also nice to have the cast of TBL working out with you. I hate it when you have all these skinny little b**ches working out on videos, and it makes you fell worse. I love the workouts, and I highly recommend this video to anyone seriously wanting to get in shape!!!!!!!!!!
- I turned on this DVD this morning for the first time (after I finished working out to another of Jillian's DVD's). For starters, the "background" music is too loud. Secondly, the trainers, especially Jillian, show the correct way to do the exercise maybe one time, and then you get to watch the class participants the rest of the time, and several of them are not doing the exercise correctly and/or have bad form. I'm new to exercise, so I need more proper instruction than this. I'm not giving up on this DVD yet, I'll actually try the workouts before I decide whether or not to keep it. I've been doing Jillian's "The Complete Workout for Beginners" for the last 6 weeks, and it's a good workout, but it's time for me to move on.
- I have used several sculpting videos in the past and none have met my expectations. I bought this one and it is fantastic. Very challenging, yet can be easy enough for beginners. They target all levels. I was very impressed.
Try it out, you will like it.

- I love watching Bob on the Biggest Loser and I knew that I would like this video. But I will admit it's tough! I would definitely recommend it!
- This is a great cardio workout. I have watch the biggest loser on tv and had enjoyed the workout videos that have followed.
- The dvd came in promptly and was in excellent condition as described! The workout is awsome - harder than some that I've paid big bucks to a trainer for. Very much worth it.
- I've found this video to be excellent. Not only can you follow their program for maximum results in 6 weeks, but you can also mix and match the various segments to your liking. I've found success with this video and the companion video. After two weeks I noticed muscle tone in my legs, abs and arms. The trainers are motivational without being sicky sweet or annoying after watching them for 6 weeks straight. I've loved this video and think you will too!
- I have tried cardio dvd's in the past and none meet my expectations. This one does. You have several levels to choose from.
It gets your heart rockin!!!

5 comments about Workout: One-On-One Training with Jackie.
- YOU HAVE TO GET THIS DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS THE BEST WORKOUT DVD I EVER BOUGHT AND USED REPEATLY
IN 20 MINUTES YOU ACTUALLY FEEL YOU GOT AN AMAZING WORKOUT.
AS COMPARED TO "THE BIGGEST LOSER DVD" THE TRAINERS WOULD STOP TALK EXPLAIN EACH MOVE LOSING MOMENTUM ON YOUR WORKOUT
NOT THIS DVD JACKIE GOES RIGHT INTO 1 MOVE AFTER ANOTHER MOVE, AFTER ANOTHER.
"INTERVAL TRAINING WITH WEIGHTS" IS THE BEST WAY TO GET SHAPE
I HAVE READ ARTICLE AFTER ARTICLE AND FROM EXPERIENCE
I ACTALLY FEEL I PUT IN A WORK-OUT AND YOU FEEL YOUR MUSCLES THE NEXT DAY.
- Just bought this DVD on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised, although was in severe pain from sore muscles on day 2. Already seeing results although I tend to get bored with workout videos after a few months so hopefully i can stick to it! Jackie is pretty motivating, but some of the trainers are a bit annoying. All in a all, a pretty decent workout.
- This video is fantastic. I would consider myself to be at an advanced intermediate level physically and this really kicked my @$$. I like to mix up my routine every few months and I'm usually not happy with videos b/c they are almost always for beginners and just not hard enough for me. This one is definitely a good one and fits into my workout routine!
- This is a great workout. Lots of variety without the burn out. I especially like the rotation aspect of it.You can customize it.I get bored very easily. This one I do not, I love the workouts are 20 min apiece you can do the full body for 60 min or upper, lower, and core separately I also really like Jackie's direction and cuing. The exercises have a different spin to them ,but are easy to master I am 43 and find the workout very effective.
- THE GOOD: The workout is good and tough but definitely not for a beginner. The set up is pretty simple, and every exercise is done for 1 minute, you get 20 min of non-stop upperbody, 20 of lower and 20 of abs which are divided into different chapters so you can choose to do all 3 or select the part you want to work on that day. Also, the workouts cover all of your muscle groups.
THE BAD: Although there are modifications for some of the exercises you would still have to understand good form to make sure you execute them correctly - most of the instructions she gives are pretty quick. The painted-on abs is pretty cheesy and the 'team work' attitude was so fake.
Aside from that I think it's a good workout for a very reasonal price. Enjoy!
