5 comments about Callanetics 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours - Amazon.com Exclusive.
  1. Haven't watched it all the way through, but it appears to be in new condition. Came in a timely manner.

  2. Callanetics 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours - Amazon.com Exclusive

I've had this exercise dvd for 1 week (worked out 3 times with 10/10 and 1 time with Fluidity) and I'm in agreement with the other reviewers that this is an excellent and quite different exercise program. I can already feel the muscles forming in my legs, calves, stomach, back, and arms which is quite surprising this early. By the end of the dvd, I feel very relaxed and stretched, which is good since I'm very unflexible and have a problem with pain/tension in my back. It also leaves me feeling calm; another plus! A note of caution: the exercises can be deceiving in that they seem simple, but pack quite a wallop so be careful and don't overdue like I did in the last workout and end up with a sore back. Before my last "over doing" workout, my back was becoming pain free and relaxed. Had I followed Callan's instruction to stop when you become jerky in the movement, I would not be resting a sore back now. I also have to say the moves are helping stabalize my bad knee. Note: when I do the kneeling exercises, I'm on a mat layed over carpet, so I don't have too much pressure on my knee.

I use the Fluidity bar (basically a ballet bar adjustable to different heights) to do the exercises, which for me worked very well thanks to my unflexible body. You can also use an end table, sofa, etc., but it may be hard to find an object at the right height for you.

The production date on the dvd is 1986, so yes you'll see 1986 leotards, hair, and makeup. To me, it's just the sign on that time period and doesn't bother me in the least. It's the moves I'm after, not a fashion show. Some say the music is 80's (or 70's) as well, but to me it's just meditative music and I like it. I would recommend watching to the end for the first time as she explains the moves. The DVD I received has a very simple index to skip to certain parts, but really we all have remote controls with a fast forward button, so it really isn't much of an issue that the indexing isn't up to the standards of what we have now-a-days.

I've already order the Callanetics Evolution and Cardio Callanetics to add variety and new moves after I've mastered this dvd. I'm currently 16 lbs overweight with a bad back/knee as previously mentioned and I've done exercise programs on and off since I was 16 years old. My problem is I catch a cold/flu if I over exercise. Very frustrating. Hence, why I had to stop P90x and was looking for something gentle, but still effective. Found it and then some with Callanetcs!

  3. I ordered this product because my mom did it when I was a little girl. She lost all of her baby weight and strengthened her core. So, I bought it and lost all of my baby weight too! This is great to do with a cardio routine.

  4. I purchased the Callanetics 10 Yrs. Younger VHS so I could add an additional day or two to my twice weekly barre workout schedule. This definitely does the trick! It's somewhat similar to my barre workouts, but even with my experience the Callanetics workout was tiring the first time around.

For anyone not used to exercising, I would advise taking it easy when beginning Callanetics, as it is quite the workout! Those small movements kick ass! Callan does mention to do less reps and rest, especially, if you are inexperienced. Even experienced might want to take it slow the first time around. Get a feel for the routine. Got immediate results and love it! Highly recommended!

  5. This DVD is a good easy to follow DVD, you can really feel the exercises working on your core muscles. I would recommend this to somebody who is new to exercise or is unfit - you can see results in a short amount of time.

  1. I was skeptical about ordering this DVD, but it's great. The first time I just watched and kinda tapped my feet.. a little worried at first. The second time I actually caught up and by the third time it was fun, and I was a sweaty mess. Nice mixup in the usual cardio routine! Julianne is a little too perky sometimes, but there's always mute.

  2. I just did this workout for the first time today. I know I made a lot of mistakes, but I was having so much fun that I didn't care. And my abs are killing me! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a really fun way to exercise at hom. You feel great doing it and even better afterwards.

  3. This is a great dance workout, really gets you sweating. If you've never had and dance experience before I suspect it would be a little more challenging for you but stick with it and you will soon learn all the steps. I would definately recommend this DVD.

  4. i enjoy the workout this dvd gives you although it is hard to catch on to and keep up with at first if you are not completely familiar with the dance steps but overall very fun!

  5. Ok so I'm a Zumba girl. I love my Zumba classes but felt like I needed to hone my dancing moves.
I was hoping this DVD would do that and IT DID! It did take me 3 viewings to get the moves down
but it definitely works you out. It's challenging, fast moving and fun. Can't wait to go to my
Zumba class and show off my improved moves. But it!

5 comments about Dance off the Inches: Hip Hop Party.
  1. The video shows simple techniques to start with, it is really helpful for a beginner that doesn't have experience in hip hop. It is fun and energectic. The best part of the video is I could keep repeating the chapter to get myself familiar with the beat and the move. I really enjoy the video and recommend to those people who doesn't know how to dance.

  2. Love the video. It's hard though! So if you are looking for an easy work out this is probably not for you.

I love the moves. Working on mastering them...

  3. Dance Off the Inches: Hip Hop Party is a little slow compared to other hip hop workouts, but it still is extremely cardio and a lot of fun to do. Jennifer Galardi leads, and she has a really fun personality and teaching style. The workout is divided into three totally different hip hop styles that are each fun to do in their own way. The sections on the DVD are:

Warm Up - Jennifer starts out with a funky style march before going to some chest and hip isolations in this warm up. Then she'll finish up with one or two more easy dance moves. It's all very basic, but it's still effective.

Basic Hip Hop - This routine is a lot of fun, consisting of some funky dance moves that are pretty easy to pull off and really fun to do. It consists of easy moves such as slides, marches, stomps, and butterflies, but Jennifer adds upper body style to make it more cardio and more funky. It was definitely, my favorite of all the routines.

Sexy Smooth - Now this routine seemed to be a mixture of Jazz, Striptease, and Arabian dancing. It didn't move too much over the floor, but it still managed to get your heart rate up. There are a lot of moves in this dance that involve the hips, but there were also a few body roll moves, kick ball change moves, and more. It definitely had a sensual feel to it which is a bit different from normal hip hop workouts.

World - Last was this routine that fused hip hop with Latin and Bollywood dance moves. It was a lot of fun as it contained lunges, box steps, chest pumps, and more with some very fun arms that made it all the more fun to do. This was definitely the highest impact of the three workouts, and it was a really nice fusion of dance. NOTE: This is the same routine as the Cardio Dance download that is available here on Amazon, on exerciseTV, and on Jennifer Galardi's website.

Cool Down - The cool down was also amazing. It had so many feel good stretches that stretched out the entire body. It was a great way to finish the workout.

Step Guide - Also included on the DVD is a step guide that breaks down some of the moves slowly in order to allow you to learn them slowly and use them in the workout. This makes it a great DVD for beginner exercisers/dancers while the intermediate/advanced dancers/exercisers may just want to jump right into the workout. NOTE: The step guide is not included in the downloaded version of this DVD available here on Amazon Video on Demand.

Overall, this was an amazing workout although it went slower than normal hip hop workouts. The three sections were all fun yet different enough to keep the interest of the viewer. I would highly recommend it to all levels of exercisers and hip hop dancers. It truly is a blast to do!

  4. Bought this video in a store - looked like so much fun, said it's for beginners - N O T. The cover made it sound like I could learn to dance and get fit at the same time, but the instructions seemed to be more for people who already had some moves. I've given the video several attempts, knowing that picking up anything new is a challenge, yet I can't seem to make this work for me. I know I'm not the most graceful person, but I was a cheerleader for several years so I'm not completely uncoordinated. It's going back on the shelf... maybe one day I'll give it another shot.

  5. I did not really like this video very much. I do like Jennifer Galardi and think she is a good dancer. I have done one of her videos ON Demand on Comcast, which I enjoyed, and I also like her DVD "[[ASIN:B002TW7K50 Ballet Body] but I felt that the steps went too fast for me and I have no Hip Hop dance experience. However, if you have some, you may find this more fun. It looked like fun but i felt it required more skill and coordination than I have and I didn't make it all the way through, or feel like I enjoyed what I did do enough to try it again one day. Luckily, I checked it out from the library. But you might enjoy it. It's hard to say but maybe, f you have no experience with hip hop and aren't truly interested in getting some moves down to take to the club, pass it by. If you're interested in learning for real and can be patient with yourself or have some hip hop experience, you may really like it.

  1. I bought this DVD and while the box had this cover and the DVD had this picture, it was a belly dance dvd that had nothing to do with MaDonna Grimes. I was very disappointed. What a waste of money.

  2. Very unhappy that I have not received this order. I have written to the sellet several times, but no response.

  3. I was excited to get this dvd, however; after trying to use it the first time though it was too fast for a beginner status. I believe it would be better rated as intermediate.

  4. This video has me breaking a sweat...I love it. It's very entertaining, motivating and a great cardio workout. The warmup even has me sweating towards the end. Madonna doesn't give good cues in the beginning, but she repeats the steps, so you eventually catch on. She'll go over the 1st move, you'll do the 1st move repeatedly, then she'll add on a 2nd move. You'll then do the 1st and 2nd moves repeatedly, then she'll add a 3rd and so on until you're doing a full dance routine. This may be difficult if you have no rhythm, but after a little practice, you'll get it and start to enjoy it. I wish it were 2 or 3 routines so that I could alternate them every week.

  5. I initial thought I was ordering the Beginners Zumba, I then get a case which states it is Africian Beat/ Latin heat. Inside the case was a completely different disk for Belly Dancing. Very disappointed.

5 comments about Leslie Sansone: Walk at Home - 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk.
  1. Although this tape was some ten minutes longer than Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim - 4 Fast Miles (2-Disc Set) and contained an additional mile of walking, it just did not seem to carry the same appeal for me. Don't get me wrong. You DO get an energetic, fast paced workout on this tape but the flow and the fun one can have doing the 4 FAST MILES doesn't seem to exist on this tape. In 4 FAST MILES you have five sets of intervals. The same group of exercisers is doing them throughout. In this tape you have five 12-minute mile segments, the first and last Leslie is doing the routine by herself, the others are seperate miles done by the group. You can do them altogether but they ARE broken up. The reason Leslie gave for doing this was to "customize your walk by mixing and matching the miles to create your own personal workout for pure fat burning fun. You can choose 1,2, 3, 4 or 5 Miles!" That might work for some but it just doesn't cut it for me. I LIKE doing the whole routine with the same group of people. That being said this is still an effective workout. I particularly liked miles 2 and 5. The music on mile 5 is especially appealing. As Leslie states early on walking is the "most natural way to improve your health by losing weight". She literally teaches you to "walk like a runner". She reassures you from the beginning that "It's not about learning steps. It's about moving to the pace of the music." I might like 4 FAST MILES better but this tape is still an attractive alternative for an effective exercise program.

  2. This is one of Leslie's best. With the different groups walking through her 5-mile walk, you hardly notice when you are on the next mile. I love her positive attitude and encouragement. A great way to start the day. Having used 8 of her videos before, from Walk Away the Pounds to Walk at Home, I've lost 70 pounds, and still enjoy it!
Leslie is like a friend to take a walk with every day. You go girl!

  3. The walking DVD is great! Great workout for the mornings to get you going. Would recommend to anyone for a good cardio workout.

  4. I have to say this is probably my new favorite of Leslie's DVDs. Her chatting isn't terribly annoying in this one, and you actually get a couple of miles with her alone. My only complaint is there is this girl in the second mile on the right of Leslie who just really irritates me!!! I have done the whole 5 miles though and they really fly by. I really do wish she would put some new/updated music on her new DVDs. But I really love this one! I highly recommend it to add to your collection.

  5. I love this DVD, going through all 5 miles leaves me feeling amazing afterward. Such a great workout.
I like that you can split up the miles if you feel the need to, or just go through all of them. Also great that they show both low impact options as well as the higher intensity ones :)

  1. This is a good tape for you if you get bored with exercising. By it being a dvd, you can do it whenever or wherever you want to.I love music and cant stand still when I hear it, so this is the perfect way for me to get that much needed exercise. This makes it fun........

  2. Years ago, I purchased the video "Sweatin to the Oldies" and loved it. I am 73 years old and a cancer survivor so wanted to get back in the swing of things to get my body back in shape. I have played the first DVD of this group and it's wonderful. Can't wait to get into the rest of them but it will take some time for me.

  3. as this was my first buy from amazon.com i was very pleased with the product and the speed of delivery. great experience.

  4. I began to work out with Richard Simmons in my thirties and now again in my 50's. He is amazing, encouraging and true to his calling. His workouts are simple and easy to understand and 1 and 2 are perfect for beginners! If you are more advanced you may want to step it up a notch with Sweatin 3 and four. Thanks Richard for teaching me how to GET MOVIN and thanks for the results! I have had great success

  5. I already owned and used the original Sweatin' to the Oldies (and have already lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks) and after reading reviews decided I needed all the Sweatin' DVDs.
I just received The Complete Collection of Sweatin' to the Oldies, sat down and watched all of them to see what they all contained and was very greatly impressed with how well put together they are. The original Sweatin' is very good but numbers 2 thru 4 are even better. Two thru four are somewhat easier to follow and the moves from all of them, 1 thru 4 are just great.
I very highly recommend these Sweatin' DVDs to anyone who loves to move, needs to get fitter, enjoys the GOOD rock n' roll of the past and most especially just needs to lose weight with joy.
These Sweatin' DVDs really do work, all ya' gotta do is get up and move to the music......and keep smiling!

  1. I'm still on level one at this point but am loving the workout. Love how you can customize it with or without instructions and levels.

  2. This really is a hardcore workout!! I was sweaty after the warmup so if your into that heart pumping workout this is for you,

On the other hand if your just starting out it is something that you really have to work yourself into so don't be discouraged if you can't do every move, there's alot of jumping and squatting so if you have knee or joint problems I would not recommend this

  3. So disappointed. This is a poorly organized dvd. And by no means is it for beginners. If you don't already understand proper form or are completely out of shape, DO NOT DO THIS DVD! I am a personal trainer that, for many reasons, has been out of commission for over a year and was looking for a beginner dvd to help motivate back to shape. I already know proper form and most importantly how to modify so I could do the moves and not re-injure myself so I was able to get a decent workout out of it without hurting myself. A true beginner will at the least be set up for failure as most of the moves are too difficult or at the worst actually attempt this and hurt themselves.

  4. This is a great post baby workout to work the core muscles. I like how it gradually eases you in and it's easy to follow the instructions. I have done a few dvd workouts and so far, this is the only one that works for me and I feel my heart pumping when I do this workout.

  5. WOW!!! I finally ordered this DVD and am so glad I did. I've been exercising regularly for a year and a half starting out with Tony Horton 10 min trainer and then adding to my collection of DVD's as I found ones that interested me. I recently got "hooked" on watching Biggest Loser on TV thus purchasing my first Biggest Loser DVDs, Yoga Meltdown & Power Sculpt. I like to keep things interesting so I change up the workouts often so that I don't get bored and in a rut/plateau if you know what I mean. So needless to say, I thought I was in pretty good cardio/strength health until this morning when I pressed play on Cardio Max Level 1 with Bob.
He kicked me right to the ground. It was great! Now I wonder if I was really getting the cardio workout that I needed in the 50 minute workouts I've been playing. It's been just 6 short hours since I finished his level 1 and I'm really starting to feel it in every part of my body. I already want to go home and try level 2 & 3 just to see if I can do it to my body again today. As with the power sculpt dvd with bob, he's very motivating. He really makes me feel like I can do this! I'm strong, think positive and just do it!
Again, I just have to say, "WOW!" If you don't have this DVD already, you should. Even if it's the DVD you put in only once in a while it's worth it. I can't wait for Levels 2 & 3. Yeah!! to the Biggest Loser DVD's I love them.

  1. Think you can't get a solid workout in 12 minutes? Think again. I was skeptical when I ordered this DVD, but with one week down, I can assure you that it's doing the job. I've been doing a workout each morning for six days a week, resting on Sunday. I love how a full effort for all 12 minutes makes me feel just as energized as a 30-minute workout at the gym, without taking up as much time in the morning and making me feel rushed. The variety between workouts keeps me from getting bored, as does the fast pace of these workouts. I think I'll be using this DVD for quite some time.

  2. This is a great daily workout especially if you don't have a lot of time.

  3. I was looking for a morning workout that did not require a lot of time and was not overly intense. Denise Austin's Daily Dozen is perfect! Each workout is just 12 minutes, so I can easily fit in 12 minutes before my busy day starts. And, her workouts are challenging without extreme intensity. Perfect for a small morning workout!

  4. This is a nice work-out if you have just a little time or if you want to combine several workouts for challenging intervals and a bigger bang for your buck. The routines are not long enough individually to be boring so the time flies by. You can program the DVD to suit your style. The only reason I didn't give the workout 5 stars is that Denise's queing isn't very good compared to other instructors that I favor. But she's very personable as always and once you do the workouts a couple of times you know what's coming.

  5. This is a great workout video for those with little time to spend. I love the variety of having a different session every day or if I have extra time I can do 2. I love that.

  1. I tried this dvd after trying a few others and feeling dissatisfied. I was a little hesitant at first because I haven't worked out in quite a few months and wasn't sure what to expect. Boy was I surprised. This is the best home workout that I have ever experienced. The moves were easy to follow as Jillian give you beginner and intermediate options. I opted for the intermediate options for as many reps as I could do in hopes of building up my stamina. I liked that there are no hand weights involved just the weight of your body for resistance. Towards the middle of this dvd I was sweating but feeling very much like I was getting a workout that would result in weight loss. I am looking forward to my next workout with Jillian already! Run out and buy a copy of this dvd I don't think you will regret it.

  2. This is THE BEST work out video I think I've ever done. I am very inshape. I did this video to tone up before my wedding. This video kicks my butt. I am so out of breath by the end. But, my jeans are looser, my tummy is alot more toned and my legs are getting more thin. This video is absolutly for someone who is more advanced. But it is a GREAT work out.

  3. I purchased this three weeks ago, and it is a great workout. I'm already seeing results and I'm losing inches and toning up. It's pretty intense and will make you sweat. I started with the 30 Day Shred which I really liked, but BFBM works even better, especially since it's 50 minutes long. I find the longer workout is more effective. I also like that she uses your body weight instead of hand weights. My arms are more toned than when I did the Shred, even though I'm not using any hand weights. I like how the circuits are spaced out, with easier ones alternating with harder ones. I also like how the moves are easy to do. I'm pretty klutzy and could never manage the dance moves. It is high impact, so you have to able to do jogging in place, jumping jacks, etc. All in all, I highly recommend it!

  4. Fastest transaction I've had on Amazon and products were in excellent condition at a good price

  5. This DVD was really fun, it was definitely a cardio blast & really helped me burn calories. Along with her No More Trouble Zones DVD, it's a great mix. Weights 1 day, cardio the next. I hope she comes out with more similar to this one... I like it so much I've been doing it everyday & after 2 months I'm a little bored... I would definitely recommend this to a beginner or intermediate beginner. You'll really feel good when it's over!

5 comments about Jillian Michaels: No More Trouble Zones.
  1. I have done The Firm, Jari Love, spinning classes, pilates etc. Sure, I lost weight after a few months of dedication but. . ..
I did this video 4 times in 2 weeks and had three people come up to me and ask me if I've lost weight. That never happened before. I literally can see changes in my body within a couple of days. I'm sold.
(On a side note, I had a baby 10 months ago and I swear this is the only thing that is making my stomach really start to go back to normal)

  2. I have a few dozen workout DVD's, everything from the The Firm to Taebo, and this DVD trumps them all. Don't get me wrong here, it will kick your butt but man do you know you are getting a great workout. You will feel it of course the next day but not just because you are sore. you feel it because it is already working. the next day after I used the first time, I felt stronger and already a little more confident even though I know that it will take more then once to get to my goals. I can't say enough about this workout and Jillian is a great instructor. There are no confusing dance moves or choreography, just a no nonsense tough workout that takes you back to those Buns of Steel days because of all the floor work. But even Jillian said those moves are old school but very effective and she is absolutley correct.

  3. Jillian Michaels is NO JOKE. I've been slowly (but steadily) losing weight since around last Christmas and only recently passed the 20-pound mark. Up until now I've been doing it with prayer, diet, yoga, and long walks, but after returning recently from a trip to Chicago (and sampling Chi-town's famous deep-dish pizza!) I felt compelled to step up my game with some muscle work!!

This video DOES NOT disappoint! You will FEEL the results immediately and, as long as you stick with your fitness routine, you will SEE results within a couple weeks. The video works like a circuit training class; you use small hand weights (purchased separately, of course: Valeo Neoprene Hand Weight). Three to five-pound weights are reasonable to start with but she discourages going much higher than that because the name of the game for us ladies is "long and lean" rather than short and bulky!

There are about 7 circuits; each one is VERY challenging and is done TWICE. The video starts with a warm up, then you target each muscle group with a series of standing and floor circuits (upper body, core/abs, hammies and glutes, quads and inner thighs, etc.) until finally you end with stretches (breathing a sigh of relief that you SURVIVED!). The cover says that the workout is 40 minutes, but in actuality it's like an hour from start to finish.

Jillian has a great personality and motivates you throughout the workout to keep going. She also suggests modifications for those who need them. Her two assistants are in very good shape, enthusiastic, and give off absolutely NONE of that conceited bimbo-vibe you get with some other workout videos. You will definitely get your money's worth here...so purchase and enjoy!
