  1. Only used it a few times, but so far I'm very impressed. It feels very sturdy (I'm 195 lbs and I run on it at around 8 MPH), it's very quiet and the controls are easy to access.

  2. I have had this treadmill for a couple of months now and i really like it a lot its pretty quiet i had a manual treadmill before and it was very loud i had to turn the tv way up but not with this one the controls are very easy to use the double fans are also good so far so good i bought this sole 77 from amazon it was $200.00 cheaper than from the sole site

  1. Due to incredibly poor service on the part of the shipper, this treadmill was lost in transit. Ironically the price was excellent but Amazon was out of stock. Conincidence? Bait and switch?

  1. Which I am. This will kick your fanny cause it's all you-- not a motor. Cheap, easy to set up and folds up for storage. Not too heavy and moves around on wheels. I recommend it.

  2. Yes, it's easy to put together. And I agree that it folds up nicely and stays out of the way. I will even agree that it's sturdy.

Maybe I just got a lemon. Despite many attempts, I have never been able to get the belt away from the left side at the front of the treadmill. The directions tell you how to adjust the way the belt runs -- but the adjustment only affects how it runs at the *back* of the treadmill -- not the front.

And perhaps the belt issue is why the thing is so incredibly uneven. It comes to a complete stop at times -- as if it's hanging on some rough spot underneath. As soon as I compensate to get it past the rough spot, it goes much faster -- and my foot flies off the back end. Charming.

I read the little tag that says you can spray silicone spray underneath the belt to make it smoother, so I went out and got some (annoying, why couldn't they just make it work and/or include the spray?). It was very difficult to spray underneath the belt -- it's very tight. But it did help somewhat -- now I can walk for 2 or 3 minutes without it hanging up so completely that I come to an immediate stop.

I'm an avid hiker and got this treadmill to keep me in shape during the cold, dark days of the winter. If you aren't already pretty fit, I strongly recommend you look at another treadmill (even if you are, you should probably look at another one). It's so hard to use that... even though I'm really committed to keeping a certain level of fitness, I just don't want to use it.

  3. This is an excellent machine, easy to assemble even for someone born without the hardware gene. No bells and whistles, just a treadmill with two angles of inclination. It doesn't take up as much space as one of those treadmills at the gym, although it's just as sturdy, and it folds up easily (to put in a closet or lean up again a wall) if you need to get it out of the way. A good, solid no-frills product.

  4. belt didn't fit properly and would move around making exercising difficult and dangerous.

  5. (I've given it 3 stars as an "average": 1 star for the hell I went through, but 5 for my ultimate satisfaction. You decide if it's worth the aggravation!)

Here's the problem: If the machine you receive has a faulty piece, and you need a substitute piece, you are in trouble. The substitute pieces are NOT MADE TO THE SAME SPECS as the original pieces. Here is my story:

I ordered the Stamina 45-1000A manual treadmill on April 10 and received it on April 17. When I started to put it together, the very first piece I needed to use (one of the "feet") had one of its holes in the wrong place. So I called the Stamina support line, got a very nice woman named Phyllis, and she said they'd send me a new piece. (Fortunately, I had the foresight to get her name and extension in case I had to call back for more help.)

A week later, the new foot came. Only the metal part (and not the plugs or the wheel) was enclosed, so I had to take those off the faulty foot and put them on the new one. The plugs fit, but the wheel did not, because that section of the new foot was a different size! In fact, the whole piece was not quite identical to the original piece, and since it was one of a pair, and the treadmill would be standing on them, I thought it was important that they should match, or the treadmill might be a little off-balance. So I called Phyllis and insisted that they send me TWO new feet WITH the wheels on them, so that I would have two perfectly matching pieces as feet to balance the machine.

Another week later, the two new feet came, complete this time. I attached the crossbar to them. It took me an hour to get it tight, but that's just because I was not very deft with the wrenches. When I then went to attach the vertical poles to the feet, the holes didn't line up! All the original pieces have the holes 3-1/8 inches apart. On the substitute pieces, the holes were 3-1/2 inches apart--just enough that the screws couldn't go through the "arm" holes into the "feet" holes. At this point I really regretted buying the machine! I called Phyllis; she couldn't believe it, either--she said she'd talk to her manager and get back to me.

She called me a few days later to say that Stamina was sending me a whole new machine, and it should come in yet another week. I said, "What should I do with the old one?" She laughed and said, "You'd better keep it. Between the two, maybe you'll have all the right parts!"

The second treadmill came yesterday, May 11. I assembled it tonight in an hour and a half--and it went very smoothly! (The part that took me an hour last time took just ten minutes this time, because of my having gained familiarity with the tools.)

So now, after a month, it's all assembled, I walked .25 mile on it, and I am out of breath but happy. However, I would not wish for anyone to go through what I went through. The manufacturer should get its act together and make the substitute pieces identical to the original pieces!
