  1. I received this product much sooner than expected, delivery was excellent.
The treadmill was extremely easy to assemble, all the parts were included as were tools. I give this product 5 stars for sure for ordering, delivery, assembly, and quality for the price.

  2. This treadmill is a piece of junk! We followed the instructions, but could never get the belt tight enough. The monitor kept falling off and the belt kept moving to the left until it started to fold over. We sent it back in less than a week!

  3. Good for a walking workout if you prop it up to lessen the incline. Not for running or for tall people, and you do have to hang on or you'll slide off the back. Easy assembly, quiet. The readout scrolls regularly through the time, calories and distance, so you don't have to keep pushing buttons, but you can only reset it by popping the battery out. For the money and for my purposes, I'm satisfied.

  4. This is what I expected. I did not want an expensive treadmill. I wanted one for my living room that I could put away when people come. I wanted to get on for short workouts many times a day.I wanted my son to be able to put it together easily, he said the tool and parts were nicely marked. I wanted less incline so I propped up the back with wood and it works.I get plenty of workout.I like the timer, I don't need more.

  5. This treadmill was more difficult to use than I expected. It was easier walking on the ground than on this. I would jog to make it move faster, but sometimes it just stays there. I didn't take the trouble to buy lubricant because I assumed it would work properly and over time, will be easier to use, but I was wrong, so I had to return the product which was difficult in itself since I threw the box away. I had to get a new box which was first rejected by UPS then I had to buy a new box again. It was difficult to use and also difficult to return.

  1. I received my treadmill a few weeks ago and found it to be as good as advertised. My wife and I were able to carry it into the house and it was easy to assemble. I did have one problem with it. When we first started using it, the treadmill would routinely suddenly stop and the display read "Err 5". None of the controls would work until you shut the power off using the switch at the base of the motor. I called Bowflex and after being transferred 3 times I finally got to a technician and the solution was simple. The speed sensor just needed a slight adjustment. That involved removing the motor cover and moving the sensor probe. The fix took less time than getting to the right person. The treadmill has worked fine since, it is quiet and stable. I do have one complaint concerning the owners manual, to say it is skimpy on details and instructions would be an understatement. For instance, you are told to oil the belt after so many hours of use but there are no instructions on how to oil it. Just oil it. Also, no real explanation of the pre-installed workout programs or details about the digital displays. However, the bottom line is that this is a good treadmill and worth the price.

  2. This is an awesome treadmill. I highly recommend it. The only thing that was bad was the delivery time. It took over a month! Also, the treadmill is SUPER heavy so be ready for that.

  3. Shipping:
My treadmill shipped relatively quickly from the date of purchase. The treadmill was shipped via Eagle Freight. Eagle shipped the treadmill from Dallas, TX to Memphis, TN. The treadmill was then handed off to R&L carriers for delivery to my residence in central MS.

When I received the treadmill, the box looked like it was not handled with great care. The box had several dents, holes, and tears in the box. When we opened the box, several pieces of the treadmill looked like they had been through a war zone. The metal pieces of the treadmill had black scuff marks. One of the plastic pieces near the track of the treadmill had obviously taken a large blow because there are stress cracks and a hole about the size of a quarter in the plastic.

The R&L carrier driver seemed to take great care and pride in his job when he delivered the package. The treadmill was also the only package on the R&L truck and the driver mentioned he only had a few deliveries in our area. So, I feel the damage most likely occurred with the treadmill in Eagle's possession.

Customer service was acceptable by both delivery parties. They both called promptly to schedule delivery and Eagle called me to notify me that they had handed off the treadmill to R&L.

    The Treadmill:
Ok, on to the treadmill. The treadmill required some assembly. The assembly was reasonably easy. The instructions were well written and all required tools come with the treadmill. Assembly took a total of 30 minutes.

The controls of the treadmill are easy to use and documentation of each program can be easily found in the owner's manual. The treadmill is also very quiet when in use at a jogging pace.

Overall, this is a decent treadmill for the price. I would have given the treadmill a much higher rating if it wasn't damaged during shipping.

  4. I ordered the Bowflex Series 3 Treadmill on 4/25/2008 and received it 05/09/2008. I received a damaged treadmill that appeared to have been damaged in shipping. Bowflex made we jump through hoops in order to obtain replacment parts under warranty and but were glad to ship the parts once their requirements were fulfilled. I recieved the replacement parts on 5/23/2008. Bowflex was unwilling to provide additional assistance because the item was purchased through Amazon. So, I received a damaged treamill that I have to fix, but I still paid a retail premium price for the item. I have not been able to use the product since I received it.

  5. After much review of many makers and models I decided on this unit. It's only been two weeks, but so far I'm very satsified. The item came packaged very well and it was a breeze to assemble. I thought about getting the next largest model thinking I could grow into it from an activity standpoint. I'm glad I didn't; this one is more than I need and will suit me fine for a long time.

5 comments about Bowflex TC3000 Treadclimber.

  1. I bought the treadclimber 3000 for my wife. It is not as good as you all may think. The installation was ridiculous, they should have put it together more before the shipment. As for the shocks i have 3 pairs all with cracked tops so you cannot even adjust the resistance. I received 2 replacements from bowflex which both came damaged.I noticed there is no stopper on the adjustment so if you continue to turn it past the 12 and go to a lower # it will throw it completely off.It is definitly not a proffesional unit as in a gym for this kind of $.
My advise to you all is buy what you use and see for yourself in a gym which is used constantly.
This machine looks as if it wont last for 6 months.

  2. Because of the business of my life, I do not have the time to make it to a gym on a routine basis. Therefore, I take great consideration when it comes to investing in a piece of work-out equipment. I have been diligently using an elliptical for over a year now and it's done a fairly good job of working my lower body. But, it gets boring and it started to make my hips ache.

After researching the TreadClimber for over a year (the cost was a big factor for me), I decided I'd purchase it because it not only worked my lower body, but was versatile enough for cardio. So the "three-pieces-of-equipment-in-one" was a big selling point to me.

If I could go back, I would not have bought the TreadClimber and here's a few reason's why:

    1. The hydraulics with the stepping are awkward and they do not go up and down on their own (cheaply engineered for the price I was paying). So, if you are like me and do not walk "perfectly", the machine will pull to one side - not moving up and down evenly. Therefore, you are spending more time in your workout "getting leveled out" then working effectively.
    2. It is small width-size, so I cannot walk without smashing my hands into the side bars.
    3. The treadles are slim and if you have larger feet (especially once you have sneakers on - I wear a woman's size 10), you are bound to hit the motionless sides and get catapulted several feet behind you.
    4. Because of the increased chances of hitting the motionless sides, you must FOCUS on the treadles constantly, if you are to get the best work-out - which means NOT holding onto the side bars. It is discouraging and distracting to be staring at the belt for the entire workout.
    5. Do not believe that the stair stepper is of any use. You are just going up and down on the treadles, this is not an effective work out.
    6. The treadmill is misleading also. It is only of use if you wish to walk. It is very short and narrow to do anything else.
    7. This model only goes to 4.0 mph. This speed will be met very quickly if you are doing a weekly work out regime.

With that said, the TreadClimber is effectively working my thigh and ab areas. Because I was so excited about my thousands of dollar investment, I quickly made room for my versatile TreadClimber and sold my elliptical -I wish now I wasn't so rash. This product is $1000 too expensive!

  3. I got mine last month and really like it. Wasn't crazy about having to put it together but I didn't have any problems. It was a little heavy for me but managed it just fine alone. (I am a woman) I love the size, it doesn't take up the whole room like treadmills do and being able to do more than one thing with it is a plus. It does take a little getting used to if you have never used one before. I'd recommend it to everyone.

  4. I bought this TC3000 Treadclimber when it was still Nautilus branded. So, I've had it for 4 or more years. I've really beaten it up. For a time I was on it for two hours a day at 4 mph (top speed). I still use it as a regular part of my aerobic routine (along with my ellipticals, and my rowers).

About 6 months ago I did replace the motor, but I was able to do it myself, but I have no complaints since it had lasted so long with no real maintenance issues. This is a great purchase and it is more reasonable than the TC5000 and has all the required bells and whistles with none of the higher priced frills. I have looked longingly at the newest high end model, but I have trouble justifying the price when the old workhouse is still going strong.

  5. I got one for home, so I can do cardio daily and not have to run to the gym every day. I like the variety of workouts and the size of the machine. It fits very well in a small space. It doesn't take up the entire room like alot of machines. I think it is well worth it for the price.

4 comments about Sole F85 Treadmill (2008 Model).

  1. I purchased the Sole F85 treadmill on 6/25/08 directly from Sole and took advantage of the free shipping they offer. They shipped it out the next day and I received it on 7/1/08 in perfect condition. It was incredibly easy to put together, it took about 30 minutes to do. I've used it everyday since it arrived. I walk 4-5 miles per day at 8-10 degree incline and so far no worries. I used to get terrible shin splints with my old treadmill at half the speed and no incline but since I've started walking on this machine I haven't had a single twinge of pain. No regrets on this purchase what so ever!

The only negatives I can really come up with are the built in fans and H.R. display. Because I'm only 5' tall the fans can't be adjusted low enough to hit me. No biggie. The other thing is the with the H.R. display. When I wear my Polar H.R. monitor it comes up on the LCD display but is inaccurate. Off by up to +20 bpm in comparison to the Polar H.R. setup I wear. Since I use a Polar monitor it really isn't an issue with me but could be an issue for others.

    Pros:

    Warranty

    Reputation

Very quite...Just a slight wooshing sound of the belt turning.

Controls on handles for speed and incline. Very easy to adjust on the move.

    3.5 HP motor

    Folds and unfolds effortlessly.

    Cons:

    Fans
    H.R.display

  2. Bought this machine after doing a lot of research. The reviews are right on the money - this is absolutely the best machine in its price category and it has no problem competing with machines that are twice as much. I would not hesitate to buy another product from Sole to add to my home gym - the company is great, the customer service is great, the warranty is great, and most of all the company stands behind its products. I bought my machine straight from the company's website - which I would recommend to qualify for free shipping. If you are serious about having a quality piece of equipment but can't afford a machine that costs 5-7k any Sole product will fit the bill and come with a better warranty then any of those more expensive models.

  3. F85 is a great value for money treadmill for serious runners. I clock over 25 miles per week and it has held up well for 3 months now. I am using it to train for my first marathon.I like the long belt and the 3.5HP for this price is a steal as compared to other treadmills with similar features.

  4. I have a late 2006 model which is identical to the 2008 model as far as the specs. There has been a slight cosmetic design change but nothing drastic. My wife and I have been running and walking on this machine for over a year and a half and we've had no problems. The heart rate monitors could be better but I'm not convinced any of the treadmills offer anything more accurate. They get you in the ballpark. The warranty is what really matters and few machines match Sole's much less alone exceed it. The best site for unbiased treadmill reviews is www.treadmilldoctor.com . I've spoken with Sole on several occasions and the customer support is superb. No overseas call center and instant response from a company that wants your business.

4 comments about Horizon Fitness T83 Treadmill.

  1. I received my treadmill about 2 weeks ago and I am extremely happy that I made this purchase. Besides the great financing deal and $100 off the price, this treadmill is a HUGE step up from my old one. It has many different workouts and levels within those workouts that I don't think I will ever get bored with this machine. The motor is quiet (you only have to turn the volume up on the TV a bit), it runs smooth, it does feel as it has more "spring" than my older (10 year-old) treadmill. I only had one minor problem when I received my machine; the support bar was missing (not a crucial part, I was still able to use it without it), but Horizan customer service was great and got the part out to me within the week. Also, be aware, this machine is HEAVY, have the delivery driver put it in the room you want to use it in, as once you open the box, it is not smart to move it to a new location (the walking board can actually spring up and cause injury). I had to give the drive a tip to do this for me, but it was WELL worth it. Keeping that in mind, the larger pieces of the machine are heavy as well. Although I put the machine together myself (it took me about 3 hours), a helping hand will make it go a lot faster.

I have used this treadmill at least 10 times now, and after adjusting the belt tension, it has been smooth sailing since. I highly recommend this machine, so much that my co-worker is buying the exact same one!

  2. We have only just barely started using this, so I may need to update the review as time goes by. I am impressed by the number of options this treadmill offered. That really helps with avoiding workout boredom. We also like that you can hook up your MP3 player to it and play whatever music you want instead of having to try and work with a CD player that you know won't play what you want as long as you want. The belt is wide and has good traction and you do feel like you are well cushioned. I love how strong the motor is. The treadmill is also really very light to lift back up into place.

What I don't love? In order to turn it off you have to reach down behind the entire machine in back of the supports on the bottom to a hidden button. There is no other way. Otherwise it's always on. Most machines you can pull the little magnetic plug or something like that. Nope, not with this guy. You have to make sure you have some clearance on the left hand side so you can get in there. Also, it has to be further away from the wall than my other machines because when you try to fold it back up it pushes back into the wall.

  3. I am truly impressed with this treadmill! I didn't think it would be as nice as it is. It is better than most health club treadmills. It is very heavy so put it in the room where you want to leave it. It took me an hour to put it together by myself (I'm female, 36 and 5'6") and the instructions were so easy to follow. Some of the screws do not fit to well, but you have to play around with them to get them in completely.

I was also looking at the Bowflex and quite a few other name brands. My cousin who is a personal trainer was recommending $3000 to $5000 treadmills and I just couldn't justify spnding that much for a home treadmill that only I was going to use. A friend of mine has a cheaper Horizon and she is very pleased with it. The Horizon T83 is sturdy and does not shake, even running on it. It is solid and well built. The thing that was most important to me was that there are ALOT of programs so you won't get bored with only a few. It does have a ipod hook up and speakers included on the main board. The fan is cheesy and I can't understand why they didn't make one with different speeds, this one blasts you away. I bought a clip-on fan to use.

For $999 and I also got free shipping, it made the Horizon T83 look even better. (And with inside delivery included). I was worried that I wouldn't like it and shipping it back was such a hassle. But I was wrong! Everything works beautifully on it and I look forward to MANY YEARS of enjoyment on it when it's cold outside.

Buy this treadmill and you won't be disappointed.

  4. I have been using this treadmill for 1 month so far. Every 2 days. I had another TM before, it had a fancy console and tv integration but I had to return it because was faulty. This time I checked everything, and every time I was using my new toy.

    That's what I like:
It's very light, you can install it alone, quite easily. Except for the console that may require a friend that holds it while you tight the console to the frame.

I'm a geek but I appreciate easy things. It is easy to use, it has all the essential programs and the software responds very well while you're on the go (changing speed, inclination...)

Clean the console is also easy.
Once installed at first it looks like the Enterprise space ship

Packaging and installation were just great. Super easy instructions, bags well labeled. Great tools, they even provide a quality screw driver. I was totally impressed by that. That's shows how much they care!

Warranty: life time on frame and motor

What I can live with but I don't like:
The say they have improved speakers with this model. Eh Eh so the one used before were a super joke :-) -- They aren't power enough and the worst part is that they cut some audio frequencies too. So if you're an iPod user not all songs will play well. Some instruments are just cut off. Too bad, because while you run, you want to be motivated by you music.

If you run faster than 7mph and your floor is carpet the all structure shakes too much. At 9mph it looks like it is almost flying. The frame has been well designed, so it doesn't break :-)
but it gives you the impression that you're on a roller cost though.

Delivery was ok, it arrived a few days early than expected, but I believe that is a nice marketing technique though. They give the worst date when you buy and then they delivery as they would expect :-)

My buying factor was their price & the iPOD input. I'm still happy for the money that I have invested and for the final result. With better speakers they would get 5 stars from me.

  1. So far I love the treadmill!--well worth the money--very easy on the feet--fan to cool you as you walk--digital readings for heart-distance-ect.---great investment--as always I love dealing with Amazon--they are the best!

  2. To begin this product is massive, it took forever to get it in the workout room. It was easy to put together though, right after putting it together it seemed to work fine. The very next day i went to use it and it was making a really loud noise, and it turns out the motor is faulty. So now its been 3 weeks and I'm waiting on getting a new motor and getting someone out here to fix the treadmill which is a huge hassle considering this treadmill was brand new when i bought it. I know theres the risk of getting a faulty product, but this treadmill has been nothing but a headache. The Bow flex reps have been nothing but courteous and helpful though.

  3. We live in the country on the great plains. Keeping in shape during
the spring and summer is easy, but when the cold winds and snow start
to blow across the prairie, it is impossible to walk the 2 to 3 miles
that I do during the warmer season. I've wanted a treadmill for years,
I've tried cheaper brands that didn't work or broke after a few months.
This is the absolutely best product that I've ever walked on. I've only
had it about 2 weeks, but have already lost several pounds and my jeans
are getting looser, so I know the inches are coming off. The features
that this machine has is superb! A fan to cool you off, two places for
water or gatorade. For an intense workout, set the incline higher. I do
want to mention, that this is a huge machine, it is not for a small space,
even though it is possible to fold-up the deck, it is very, very heavy,
so it will be great to clean under, but not to store away between uses,
as it weighs almost 300 pds. We also have a bowflex weight machine and
now have turned a small spare bedroom into a workout room, next we are
planning to put a flat-screen tv in there, so that will be an incentive
to not be a couch potatoes and to workout and watch our favorite shows and
movies, and get into shape during the long cold winter. If you do choose
to order this product, and choose free shipping, it will take 3 to 4 weeks
to get the machine. But it will save you around $200 for the free shipping
    and well worth the wait.

  4. Well built machine. Sturdy, powerful, quiet. However, we have had issues with the incline. When adjusting the incline sometimes the whole unit just shuts down. We have contacted bowflex to inform them of this problem. They have yet to get back to us...

  1. I'd been interested in buying a treadmill after reading a blog entry written by someone who'd rigged his much more expensive version so he could use it while working on his computer. Given how much exercise equipment I've purchased over the years but never used (like the exercise bike which gave me a sore bum and back or the yoga ball that wasn't tall enough to let me sit at my desk or... oh, so many other things), I didn't want to spend a fortune on a treadmill only to use it as yet another glorified coat rack.

What I did want, however, was one that offered ease of use and portability, just in case I needed to put it away. I also wanted one at a decent price, and that's exactly what the Weslo Cadence C44 offered.

Thanks to a little inventiveness on my husband's part, we were able to build a wooden platform on which I can rest my laptop so I can read news or even write while walking on the treadmill. This Weslo version offers speeds low enough to make that possible, although the motor at first seemed rather loud at the lowest speeds. We fixed that, too, by removing the motor hood and gluing in a rubber baffle (much like the one surrounding most dishwashers), then lubricating it with the recommended silicone spray.

Ever since then, I've been able to combine typing while walking on my treadmill (which, incidentally, I'm doing right now). The beauty of that setup is that I no longer have to set aside specific time to exercise: I can combine it with things I'm already doing. Granted, I'm not getting a cardio workout while plugging away on my computer at a mere 1.5 mph, but I *am* getting exercise. For cardio work I just remove the little wooden platform and ramp up the treadmill's speed -- something that's as easy as the push of a button on this machine.

I should point out that I'm short (5'2"), so the length of the belt is no issue to me. The belt is easily long enough for my stride, whether walking or running. My husband is 6', though, and he says he's also comfortable on this... provided he doesn't set the speed so high that he's struggling to stay near the handles like you're supposed to.

About a week after we set this up (a process which took a little over an hour), we needed to move it out of our family room because we had company coming. This was easily done -- the treadmill folds mostly flat and has a plastic L-shaped catch to keep it from opening while you roll it on the wheels attached to the base. When folded the machine fit neatly under our bed and was just as easy to bring out and put back up once our company left.

I love this thing, and I love its price. Granted, it may not have all the bells and whistles that a fancier, more expensive version does. For instance: a built-in fan would be nice, and the base of the cup holders are foolishly tilted so that the only thing you can use in them are sports bottles with caps. But it IS perfect for the new treadmill user -- like me -- and provides a good workout without unduly straining one's budget.

  2. I am very pleased with the Weslo Cadence C44 treadmill. I didn't want to spend over $450 on a treadmill but I thought if I did this that the treadmill would be flimsy, cheap and not well built. Much to my surprise this thing is very sturdy, heavy and densely built and a breeze to operate. The assembly was fairly straight forward if you follow simple instructions correctly. It took me about 1.5 - 2 hours to assemble (you only need to assemble both upright rails, hand rails and console). In some instances the instructions recommended that you have another person assist you. However, with some imagination, practical safety procedures and some muscle (I used a stack of books to keep the base up in order to screw in the frame bolts), I was able to assemble it by myself and I'm a 52 yr. old female. The treadmill is very sturdy and easy to fold up and store. For the money this thing is certainly worth it. I know I'll get many years of enjoyment and satisfaction from it.

  3. I am very happy with this treadmill.
It took me about 2 hours to assemble.
But the power did not turned on.
I called the manufacturer who answered me right away, and gave instructions explaining to tighten up some loosing devices, and then the power went on.

Weslo does answer and help u with any problem, i think this is VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW.

  4. It took us about one hour to assemble this treadill, only because we messed up in the beginning. It does not take up much space and it is workable.

  5. I find this unit to be an excellent choice for the money. It has adjustable speed from 1.0 mph to 10 mph in .1 increments. The belt is of ample width and long enough for longer strides. The display is easy to read and the controls are well marked. It has readouts for speed, fat burned, calories burned, speed of belt distance travelled and time of session. Also there is a pulse monitor. It has a safety key that is necessary to operate the unit and which clips to you for emergency shut-off. If you want to pause a session you push the stop button and all read-outs are frozen. If you pull the safety key the unit stops and the readout goes blank. The belt platform folds up fo storage in case it is necessary. My only complaint is I wish the pulse monitor operated a little faster. The assembly instructions could use improvement and the description of the screws could be better. Although the instructions recomend a helper for some steps I was able to assemble it alone. It appears to be a solid unit and I expect to get much use out of it.

  1. This is very sturdy. You must step up high to get on the treadmill. I imagine this is because it needs to be higher to accomodate the motor housing under the walking surface. The instruction booklet is easy to read. Being able to change speeds and include both the downhill and uphill features in my workout is great. It is a very quiet treadmill. It is great that my feet do not kick the motor housing when I walk. This is very important if you need to hold on to the hand rail when you walk because you are closer to the front of the walking surface. My only complaint is the way that the console is attached to the treadmill. I think longer screws and also more than two is needed for a more secure attachment. This is a minor detail. I choose to keep this treadmill in one spot because it is heavy. Overall, the treadmill is sturdy and attractive and the controls are easy to read and use. It is easy to fold and unfold. I am very happy with my purchase.

  2. I switched shifts so I cancelled my gym membership and decided to buy my own home gym...I did not have that much room in our spare room so I looked for a treadmill and bike that would take up little space. After reading reviews on Consumer Reports and Treadmill Dcotor I decided to buy the TR 2000-HRC treadmill. I love it! I can go uphill and downhill, it is super quiet and it gives me the same running surface size as the other treadmills I was looking at but does not have the hood in the front (which I always kicked at the gym!) and takes up more than a foot less space! I have been using it for about 2 months now 4 to 5 days per week and would recommend it not only for the small size but for the quality!

  3. I got this treadmill to help me prepare for my first race after having the baby. With baby products everywhere in the house space was limited so I was looking for a treadmill that took up as little space as possible. I found in Consumer Reports that this was their selection for a treadmill in small spaces so I bought. GLAD that I did...not only does it take up little room but I have been to workout while the baby is sleeping, as it is really quiet and the decline feature lets me train just as if I was outside going uphill and downhill. Easy to use and great warranty. Love it and can't wait for my race!

  4. "Everything about this treadmill is AWESOME! Very little assembly and went together quick! Great Warranty! Great Features! The decline feature allows me to walk up and downhill and I love that I can change the speed and incline on the handlebars! I can see why this treadmill has the awards that it does! Glad I bought this unit."

  5. I purchased this treadmill based on the awards and TV shows that I saw this unit featured for its small footprint. I have limited space in my townhome and have been looking for a folding treadmill that I could jog on. This has been a great unit and I LOVE the ability to walk uphill or downhill!

Anyone looking for a folding treadmill that takes up little space and has a great warranty and bells/whistles...this is your unit.
