1. Works great. Shipping no problem. Box is big and heavy so probably need some help with it. Easy to put together once out of box. Plenty of different built in programs to keep from getting bored. Constant heart rate works great with additional polar monitor. Does not take up a lot of floor space. Would buy again and glad i did not go for a used one.



2. I have used Stairmaster products at my gym for years. After a tough winter and a new schedule getting to the gym has been a challenge and decided it was time to make the investment. What a great decision! The Stairmaster arrived after mutual agreement with the shipper to leave it out on the front step. I was worried that it would be too big for me to move in to the house by myself but I was wrong. A little more assembly than I expected but it was easy enough. My Stairmaster is great just like the club machine but better! I would highly recommend making the investment. Couldn't beat the price, significantly below the list price and no sales tax!

1. I purchased this product for my wife who loved working out on a stairmaster when she was younger (they are getting hard to find in gyms these days). We have had this for about 3 months now and it has really made a difference in our lives. It is so easy to jump on, hit quick start and go. The stairmaster kicks your butt in a way our spin bike or elliptical can't match. Because of this, we only need 15 minutes to get a great workout. It is so efficient, we can squeeze it into our busy days without a problem and the result is we are no longer procrastinating and we are GETTING IN SHAPE!!
   
   We also love and are impressed with how solid this machine is. It is very smooth and quiet in its operation. It seems to have a very solid chain drive so it feels very stable and smooth.
   
   Finally, I am very happy with this model which lacks the side-bar. I was reading that the side-handles actually encourage bad posture but I was a little nervous that my wife (she is 5'6") wouldn't be comfortable reaching up to the upright handles. On the contrary, she is very comfortable and I am happy knowing the upright handles encourage better posture and strengthening. We also LOVE the small footprint of this machine. While it is tall (you should be sure to have standard 8' ceiling), we can easily hide it in a small back corner of our family room and many of our friends have completely missed the addition until we point it out. :)
   
   The smaller size also means that I could carry this machine by myself. It is still heavy, but not impossible to move. Regarding setup -- it really wasn't that bad. The hardest thing was getting the staples out of the crate (be sure to have a crow-bar). Give yourself a few hours to assemble, but that should be all you need.



2. The first thing I want to say is that as of this writing the Amazon listing for this Stairmaster still reads: "comes fully assembled." This is simply wrong. In fact we had to hire two men with a full tool kit to assemble it (it took around an hour) and the cost was nearly $125.00. The good news is that Amazon refunded the assembly money to us, and says that the listing will be corrected.
   
   My wife and I both love the unit. It is solid as a rock, ours doesn't "smell," I'm not an aerospace engineer so I can't comment authoritatively on the material the other reviewer is complaining about, but ours looks similar to all the steppers I've used in gyms through the years.
   
   I can't imagine how much cheaper (again I'm responding to the other reviewer) they could sell something like this with all the innards and electronics involved. We feel we got our money's worth, and the company stands behind their products with a solid warranty.



3. The only good thing I have to say about this stairmaster is that it does seem to be mechanically sound. I originally had the 4000PT which was wonderful. I thought that a newer version would be great, however, I was really disappointed! I was shocked at how cheaply it was made with what seems to be a very low end plastic type of material. I had to take great care while assembling it because it seemed on the verge of breaking as I put it together! Anyone who has used the 4000PT knows that it is built like a tank so you can imagine my shock at the lack of quality of the 4200PT. In addition, anyone who is chemically sensitive should beware. There was a definite odor when I removed it from the box which immediately gave me a headache. This is often a problem with cheap plastics, etc. I cannot believe that I paid over $2,000 for this piece of junk!



4. I absolute love it. It came late, but the product was upgraded because the company did not have the item I wanted. I wish I would have ordered one sooner.

1. I got bored with this very quickly. I just didn't want to continue doing it. The action was okay, and it worked fine, but it was just so dreadfully dull because there aren't any variations possible.

1. Great product that is not easilty found in health clubs anymore. I find it is unmatched by its exercise potential with low impact and good aeorbic function. I can read and exercise at the same time.

1. This stepper was one problem after another. After using it only about a dozen times the screws fell out of the foot and fell off. About the same time, it started squeaking so badly it would wake up the kids during nap time. After having to put it together every time I wanted to use it, it finally broke completely and shot metal pieces all around the living room. I had it only a few months. I have owned a few steppers and this was the worst one.



2. This machine was great for about a month. While using it the cable that creates the tension snapped, I fell off the steps face forward and nearly smashed my face into the floor. Thank god there wasn't any furniture in front of me. Do not buy would be my advise.



3. I love the exercise, but the plastic wheel didn't hold up to the pressure. I am going to try a different brand.



4. I love the idea of having a mini-stepper at home. This one would be ideal for me only if it didn't break so easily. I purchased my second Hers Mini-Stepper less than a month ago and the cable that goes around the pulley broke YET AGAIN!!! That's exactly what happened with the first one. I'm gonna keep looking for a more durable version of this. As for this particular stepper - it's a total waste of money. Poorly made.



5. I have only used this mini-stepper for a couple of weeks after being a couch potato for several years. I bought it so I could work at home on my time schedule and for as long as I choose. I put it beside my 5' bookshelf and hold onto each side of the bookshelf for stability. I need to hold onto something when I step or I'll get wobbly. It's small enough to travel with, fairly light-weight and easy to use. A little WD-40 solved the squeak problem. I can already feel results from my waist down - I'm tightening up and developing muscle tone. I'll write another review after six months or so, but right now this is a winner as far as I'm concerned. I've given two others out for Christmas/New Year's gifts. CAUTION: This is for WOMEN who weight under 250 lbs. If you are man of any weight, a heavily overweight woman or an advanced exerciser, this is not for you.
