  1. Just a review of items bought. I have not installed as yet as I am wintering in Florida and will set up when I get home. All items look exactly what I wanted.

  2. First don't order it as a gift for someone in the household, unless you are going to be waiting every day for the delivery man, because it comes in the box with the picture plastered all over it. Also, you have to buy your own hardware, even for the initial installation...what comes with it is just too rinky dink.

  3. At first I was about to surrender, the manufacture on these mass created speed bags platforms are constructed inadequately. Since I couldn't manage to pay for one that is like the one at my fitness center I took an old solid door cut it at 30" instead of the 24" had my father in-law plane the round drum purchased four 4 inch screws, washers and lock washers now with what I had left of the door I cut into 4" x 20" put a piece of carpet on the wall to quiet the sound, bolted the wood on to the studs behind the carpet then continued to erect the platform. I also purchased the everlast professional chain link swivel which I used instead of the "plastic ball and hook swivel". I spent less than an extra thirty five bucks and have a solid, quiet professional looking platform! Which could have cost way more then what i paid!

  4. My 16 year old son is interested in boxing so I thought this might be a nice starter kit for him to practice with. The boxing gloves aren't that great, but they serve their purpose. The bag and platform are fine....I had enough sense to know it wouldn't come with screws and stuff, so we bought what we needed before installing it. Found a strong beam in the wall in the garage and it was up and ready to go in 20 minutes. He really enjoys using it (as does my husband) and so far, it appears to be of decent quality and perfect for what we wanted - a home speed bag set that wouldn't break the bank, but wouldn't break during use either.

  5. The description of this item does not tell you what sort of bag you will get. I bought this a few years ago and it had a plastic speed bag in it. The bag broke after only 2 or 3 hours of use. Find out what sort of bag is included before buying this. When I think about it maybe it is a good deal even without a leather speedbag. It provides you with the required hookup to start training. Just be ready to get a real leather speed bag right away. I attached 3/4 inch plywood to the drum to provide a better striking surface. Seems to work fine with that addition.

  1. Installation wasn't too hard, but you'll need 2 people...one to hold the platform and the other to screw in the 3" lag bolts. It's a little noisy when hitting the bag, much more so than the $2-300 speed bags...but the price is good so its acceptable. What isn't acceptable is that the height adjustment screws don't keep the platform from sliding up and down the track when you hit the bag. I've tightened them as much as I can and they still don't hold it in place. Of course you could rig something up to stop it from moving..but that takes away the functionality of it being adjustable in the first place.

  2. I really am pleased to have the speed bag and platform to incorporate into my workouts. The price through Amazon.com was fantastic, as far as my research had shown.

  3. This is a very small punching bag, but provides an excellent workout. It is very easy to set up and doesn't take up much space in a room. It has been holding up well with lots of use.

  4. Love it. I can tell you how satisified I am with this purchase. Easy to install and use. I've gotten hours of enjoyment working on speed and technique, it's very addictive.

  5. Great product for the value. Better than Everlast basic platform.

  1. The Unit is more stable with the addition of sand to the base. The only fault I find is the height adjustment remains too low. However it forces you to develop speed and accuracy. It is great for your hand feet combinations. I am very pleased withthe purchase.

  2. Dual Pad Kick Boxing Station with Speed Bag was purchased for my partner to aid with his Tae Kwon Do classes. He was very pleased although a bit short so he rigged it to go higher.

  3. This product looked so cool in the picture that I just had to get it. I am a little disappointed though.

    Cons:
    1) It's too short
The description says that the height varies from 48-56 inches. This measurement is obviously not from the floor to the top of the "head" or speed bag. I guess maybe that is true if you have the arms pointed straigh up. When I use it, I feel a little like Kramer in that episode of Seinfeld where he is fighting those little kids in karate class. It's like fighting a dwarf.

    2) The pole spins when you hit the arms
As the previous reviewer pointed out, when you hit one of the hand targets, the whole this spins (sometimes upto 180 degrees). I am guy, but not an expert at martial arts. So I hit and kick harder than a child, but I am not crushing it. The problem is that you have to reset the arms after every strike. It breaks up the continuity of the workout.

    3) The spring on the punching bag seems too long.
When you give the bag a good bop, it doesn't bounce back very quickly. So, don't expect to do much speed work with it.

    4) It's a little more cheaply made than I expected
The punching bag is thick rubber/vynil, so I am not afraid of popping it, but it is not the same material that you see in other speed bags. The hand targets are not even close to the quality of the paddle targets that we use in our taekwondo class. That may be why they designed it to spin. Still, I am not terribly afraid of breaking it in the next few weeks or anything.

    Final Word
I got this to use at home because I don't really have anyone to hold paddle targets for me. If I can figure out a way to make it stop spinning when I kick it, then I will be much happier.

  4. I expected this to be a little more stable; when you kick/punch the arms, the entire pole swings around. No need for cushioning on the pads; they don't stay still anyway.

It's still a decent piece of equipment, and doesn't take up much room. I'll figure out how to deal with the swinging arms, but I'm not crazy about them.

  1. The speed bag that comes with this package is complete garbage. Be sure to set it up right away and do about one hour of normal speed bag work. That will be enough to break the plastic loop that attaches the bag to the swivel. There should be a law against products like this but since there is none just be ready with your receipt when it breaks like mine did.

  2. If you are looking to get a nice beginner/intermediate speed bag set up this is for you! Best price anywhere I found! One thing you will want to do though is weigh down the platform so you get a better rebound. The bag and swivel it comes with is perfect to start out but you will want to upgrade down the road. My suggestion would be to get a quick change swivel with internal bearings. Title boxing and everlast both make them. The chain link style works great too, just takes a bit longer to swap out different bags. When it comes to bag size I wouldn't go much larger then 7x10 for the 24" platform. Plus the bigger size bags are pretty slow! A 6x8 or 7x10 is a perfect size to get good on, then you can go for the smaller guys 5x8 or 6x4. Title boxing has probably the best selection of bags I have found yet! Good luck and happy punching!

  3. The speed bag was a gift for my nephew and I gotta tell you he liked it so much that he had us install it right away so he can start using it. He is so happy !! Would like to by one for my home...

  4. At first I thought the swivel was cheap because the speed bag did not rebound very well. I had to pound on the speed bag just to get it in a somewhat moderate speed, but after buying 2 different swivels (one similar as in the boxing gym I train in) I realized it wasn't the swivel but the round wooden platform itself. It is made of cheap, low quality compressed wood (if it is even wood). I tried a different platform at Sport Chalet and it was definitely much smoother and rebounded like it should. It is a little more than twice the price, but definitely worth it. It is the EVERLAST ADJUSTABLE SPEEDBAG PLATFORM ASIN:B001B88VXI which Amazon also carries.

  5. After a few months the bag deflated and Everlast could have cared less. The swivel is terrible. It unscrews as you hit the bag and the action sucks. If you buy this set, replace the swivel and buy a leather bag.
