  1. This rifle is very well made. wood and metal is what it consists of. the power is excellent and the accuracy is as good as I can aim. I loaded the gun with gamo pellets which increase the velocity By 25 percent and it went through an empty plastic bottle as if it were paper. with nothing in the plastic bottle, I was surprised that the bottle didn't fly back. Instead there was a clean hole straight through both sides of the bottle and it was still standing up. even without the gamo pellets, this gun is still very deadly. Lets just say this thing is not a toy and is far from it.

  2. With no reservation, I am impressed with the fit, finish, and performance of this rifle. At first the sights seem a little out of place on such a solid mount, but they function well and have great visibility. I have a couple of 22 rimfire rifles with light gage metal sights that would be much less resilient than these plastic sights if bumped. Fresh out of the box I held my first 20 rounds to just under a 3" group at 50 feet, standing, off hand. Being unpracticed by several years, I was very pleased with its / my performance. As to power, it seems more than adequate. The 7.9 grain pellets were blowing through a ¾" pine board at 50 feet as if it were a sheet paper. As for adding a scope, I would be hesitant because of the break barrel action. If the barrel doesn't seat perfectly after cocking, the sight angle would be greatly compromised. I guess there is a reason the open sights are mounted on the barrel proper. Also, based on the limited effective range of the low mass projectiles, the open sights provide better target / quarry acquisition within the gun's kill range. Or so I would think. The next time out we'll do a little trigger adjustment and tweak the sights a bit. One thing is for sure; I hope my first impression lasts.

  3. I haven't mount the the scope yet, but the rifle itself lives up to it's description. I wanted something with power and this one knocks around my 5.5"x5.5" pellet trap around at 25'. I mentioned I haven't mount the included scope yet, because I've been enjoying the fiberoptic rear(florescent pink) and front (florescent green) sights. Mine came with 250 ct. hollowpoint pellets, which sort of disintegrated to powder when it hits the back of the pellet trap because of the 1000 fps. Heavier pellets will slow it down some (more than the ave. 7.9 gr. .177.) Has a slight kick to it. This combo comes with a hard case, which is a plus if you're a collector like me who likes to have all of his/her guns in it's own case. DEFINITELY NOT FOR A YOUNGSTER PLINKING IN A BACKYARD. mgso

  1. [[ASIN:B000BWE6A2 Tech Force Airguns - 99 Magnum Pellet Rifle .22 cal, 900 FPS w/2-7x32 Scope!
I figured I'd give this rifle a chance. I also own a RWS 460 that's been tuned by CTC so I have an idea about underlevers. I needed something as a kick around for the {dirty duty} pest control etc. My Crosman/Mendoza 577 died and I thought this would be the perfect choice. Looks good, feels good but it won't shoot. I cleaned the bore, loctited the screws, oiled it down and gave it the business. It liked Crosman Premiers the best, but after 10 shots at a target you couldn't tell if I used a pellet gun or blasted the target with buck shot. It may settle down after a while, but you know what is said about first impressions. Airgun Depot also has a complicated return policy BTW. Live and sometimes learn.

  2. Tom Gaylord wrote a detailed report on the TF-99 at http://www.compasseco.com/article_tf99.htm

For the most part, it's quite an accurate assessment, BUT here are some points he did not mention:
    1. Despite normal, reasonable maintenance, the metal exterior is especially prone to rust.
    2. You get this goddaweful "Klackk" cocking the rifle. It's sufficiently loud to spook some likely targets in the field.
    3. With all the built in safety features, there is no way to quietly (and safely) de-cock the under-barrel action (unlike the break-barrel designs). Once the rifle is loaded, it has to be fired to be stored safely.
    4. It is quite heavy even for someone 6 ft 3" and 260 lbs (i.e. me). But on the plus side, it is very well balanced, points easily, easy to shoot, almost no felt spring recoil. The stock is all wood, nicely stained, checkered, and the darn thing has the look and feel of a true African Big Game Hunting Rifle! And fairly consistent accuracy!
    5. The Tech Force® 3-12x44 Air Rifle Scope is truly a decent piece of optics. The looks, clarity, focus, light gathering capacity is remarkable for a budget priced Scope. But I've always disliked messing around guessing distance with those adjustable objective scopes. It takes the fun out of shooting.

China has come a long way with improved quality airguns; and it certainly shows! For the money, you just can't beat this deal. I am happy with my purchase.

  3. Product purchased for my husband's sole use. I DO NOT ENDORSE and find it extremely offensive.

  1. I bought one of these for my son as a birthday gift, along with some extra magazines. It worked once when he first charged it. Once the battery was drained and he charged it again, it would not work. Took it to a local shop and they determined that the problem was the battery. So, I ordered another battery. It worked one time with the new, fully charged battery, and once again, DOA after the first use of the new battery. Don't waste your time or money on this. I have read elsewhere that these have electrical problems, wish I would have known that before I purchased this.

  1. OK I WAS GLAD WHEN the gun came in just 6 days after i ordered it, but was very upset when the desciption very clearly shows the M116B2, and i got the M100B, which has no scope, or the extra mag, gosh i really did not like that!
