2 comments about Predator 314 Shaft 2nd Generation Pool Cue Shaft.
- I got a predator 314 (2nd) a couple of years ago. I am still playing with it here are in my opinion the pros and cons:
Pros:
1) Quality build and feel
2) Improved my game by lowering deflection and giving me a chance to better grasp concepts of spin and aiming.
Cons:
1) The Shaft SOFTENS over time. The reason is that these shafts are made of several pieces of wood glued together. As humidity gets to them you loose that crisp feel. So You have to buy a new one every couple of years. My predator shaft is now more whippy and creates more deflection than my traditional shafts!! so unless you live in Arizona or Nevada you gonna have to spend the money.
2) Overpriced
3) Some 314 (2) are on recall
- I got a Predator 4point-steel joint cue. I got it at Blatt Billiards, recomended by Victor Stein, author of the Billiards Encyclopedia and other manual books, and friend of big names such as Mosconi, Massey.... You can't believe how happy I am with this cue.
Talking about the shaft, mine is a Uni-Loc Black Collar one, and it just works perfect. I aim to the object ball, and after i do the parallel aiming for English, and I just have to correct it less than a hair, literally. It's just amazing,
I was playing with a friend of mine. We switch cues for one rack (he has a medium-high end Viking more expensive that mine with wood-to-wood joint)and I had to be always correcting the aiming because of deflection, and I didn't feel the stroke, too soft. He made a 4 ball nice run, with hard shots, and he just told me: "This is a weapon".
So, I strongly recommend this shaft, and also, the Predator butt.

1 comments about Mizerak Maple Billiard Cue.
- 1:There is no black nylon wrap enclosed.
2: The description would lead a person to think that this is a package of three (3) pool cues. Only one (1) cue arrived in a plastic case. The cue seems to be all right, but for the $30.00 I could of got something with a case, and may be the cue would be just as good or maybe better. All these products are made in China and the quality is usually good.
I feel that I have been taken, because I have been. Why didn't I get what was in the description and what I paid for; because the vendor didn't deliver what was described. My advice would be to order a cue that comes with a case and is priced at $19.99-$25. I decided to eat the difference in cost and not return the item and have to pay for the shipping back. Lats face it after shipping, I'm maybe out
$15.00, and I don't have the hassle of going to the post office. I don't have a case or a nylon wrap, and I'll have to get one. IF I HAD TO DO IT OVER AGAIN I'D GO FOR BUYING A CUE FROM A DIFFERENT VENDOR.
