- How anyone could say absolutely anything negative about this excellent piece of equipment is beyond me. I recently purchased one, and it is the best piece of equipment I have ever owned! I agree completely with the other five star ratings about it, and I'll tell you why. The quality of the machine is top notch, excellent, and built like a tank. I give every piece of equipment in my home gym a brutal workout, and love things that challenge my body to the max. This exceeds my expectations. If you are a serious fitness enthusiast, and love challenges, this is the holy grail for you, as far as home equipment/gym equipment goes. Not only does it condition your cardio system, but helps strengthen your core like no other. I have bought and tried alot of equipment over the years, but I can honestly say this is the most well worth chunk of money I have ever spent. Make sure you have room in your home gym, and that it will fit through your doorway, and it is worth the little extra to have the delivery guys bring it in and place it. It is not only the best cardio workout I have ever gotten on a machine, but it is loads of fun! Even for a five foot one, half pint little 41 year old redhead like me!!
- This piece of equipment has to be the best workout device I've ever used!!! I am an avid outdoors type and not a gym rat, but I had a free trial membership to a gym that had one of these and I was hooked! I've never had such a thorough workout from just one machine. I was studying for my medical school entrance exam at the time and I felt like the cross crawl type movements were good for the brain as well as the body. I've since moved from the city where this gym was located, but I wanted to send out the word to anyone who is thinking about this machine. It is an excellent investment to your health and well being. It is on my medical school graduation wish list!
- I use this machine at my gym regularly. It will tire you much more easily than your ordinary treadmill, elliptical, or Stairmaster, because you have to pick up your arms as well as your legs. The self-adjusting speed also has a tendency to make one go faster and faster to "keep up," and then to have to finally slow down again. But that is a good thing: it means that one never feels unsafe on this machine.
Climbing is one of the best cardio activities around, up there with running and swimming, and unlike those it doesn't require high impact movement or a conveniently located pool. Plus, like swimming, climbing will work both the upper and lower body. That makes it a great way to complement weight training by working the aerobic part of your muscles, and not just the anaerobic.
- I have been a fitness expert and buff for many years and have used virtually every piece of fitness equipment available in the marketplace. The unique design of the Jacob's Ladder makes it easy on the spine and one of the best exercises for the core muscles of the abdominal wall and gluteal areas. The calves and quads are highly active in the climbing process causing increased calorie expenditure and increased activity of capillary beds in muscles of legs, arms, and core. The easy to use system with the belt attachment provides security and confidence as a climber climbs. Speed is easily adjusted by simply climbing faster or slower and the Ladder adjusts to your desired pace.
The heart moniter which is included is easy to moniter from the screen place strategically in front of the climber on the angled section below the ladder rungs. There are also hand rails on the side to use if you get tired of using your hands.
With this amazing cardio device, you can burn 10-16 calories per minute easy and maintain a consistent aerobic or anerobic pace if desired. Typical workouts of 20-25 minutes will leave any user feeling like he/she had a great workout. One other great feature of this device is the cross crawl movement it induces. Research has shown this unique system of exercise patterning is important for brain function, balance, and good health. It may also help with dyslexia and other balance problems.
The construction is top notch and the company is run by people who care and are committed to quality. The owner of the company spoke extensively with me before my purchase and made sure I was pleased with my unit and it's operation. The unit ships as one piece so there is no set up necessary. You simply order, have it delivered, and begin exercising.
I found this device was a great off season training aid for cycling. But it will provide a great training aid for many other sports as well. I love my unit and tell everyone I know.

- I used one of these at our club and found it difficult to learn, even though we use ellipticals and climbers regularly. The construction is poor and I question it's reliability and safety. The control screen looks cheap and the lack of features makes it seem as if they bought it out of an obsolete parts catalogue. I can't imagine having one of these big noisy monsters in my house.
