2 comments about Sardo Tight Rack M-5000.

  1. The Sardo works as advertised. With any rack configuration (9-ball, One-Pocket, etc.) the balls stay tight and perfectly aligned. It takes a few minutes to set up by putting accuracy marks on the table cloth, but after that, the balls rack easily and quickly. Some purists have complained that the racks are "too perfect", that professionals soon learn how to hit the rack with too much consistency and that the outcomes are too predictable. I can see the merit in that argument but, even as a BCA Recognized Instructor, I still find every rack challenging. Great product and well made. Should last many years.

  2. I wanted a rack similar to ones I had seen on pool tournaments on television. From the research I did, this seemed to be the rack for me, and wasn't too expensive. So I ordered the Sardo Tight Rack.

When I unboxed the product, it seemed lighter and more fragile than I'd imagined. Almost felt a little "cheap." However, I withheld judgment until I could get it home and try it out.

After getting the Tight Rack home, I discovered that to use the product, you must mark your pool table felt with a permanent marker and use those marks to align the rack properly. My roommate was less than thrilled to hear the prospect of his cherished table being marked up in order to use this contraption, so we decided to skip that step.

I can't say for sure if it was because we skipped the marking process or if it's because of the design of the rack, but it doesn't work as well as I had hoped. When racking 8-ball or 9-ball, the front ball tends to roll forward slightly after we "rack" with the Tight Rack. This is unfortunate, because obviously you can't get a good break if the front ball isn't racked perfectly.

I haven't found a product that looks like it will work better, so I can't recommend any other rack. Just know that you'll have to mark up your felt for this to work properly.

3 comments about 8ft Table Cover.

  1. Cover was exactly what I wanted. Quality material, very light and manageable. Exactly was a pool table cover should be. I lucked out on choosing this cover. Ordered brown. Matched everything in the room. Very neutral. Thanks a bunch.

  2. For the price you shouldn't expect much. I was looking for something cheap and not too fancy. After a week a small tear began at one of the corners. I tried to be very careful but the tear began to get bigger and bigger and in just a few weeks it became useless. I threw it away and began looking for a better cover. My recommendation is skip this step and just look for a better cover even if you have to spend a little more money. You will end up buying another one anyways.

  3. maybe not the most expensive one but it does it's job.
