2 comments about Converse Chuck Taylor HiTops, Pink Toddler size 3 to 10.

  1. When my daycare suggested I get shoes with ankle support when my daughter started walking, these wee HiTops were literally the only shoe that worked for her. Velcro shoes may be popular, however, my chubby princess can get them off in about 2.3 seconds before inserting them in her mouth. So we researched lace up hi-top shoes: those creepy white leather jobs (too expensive/not really much support), unbelievably clunky hiking boots (how does a kid navigate with boats on their feet?) and these. She has one pink pair and one black pair, and they could not be more perfect. Sure, they're a $%^&* to lace up in the morning, but once they are on and double-knotted, by God they are still on her feet at the end of the day. She looks like quite the hipster, too! Gets compliments on them all the time.

  2. One of the unforseen consequences of baby shoes affixed with those ubiquitous Velcro fasteners is that they're gone in 30 seconds once they're on a baby's feet. Even babies with less-than-well-developed motor skills can pry off the damn things in no time at all, really.

As a result of those poorly designed shoes, as well as lowtop baby shoes in general, my baby boy went barefoot in summer and wore feet pajamas in cooler months.

Not until he was 10 months old did it occur to me that the solution to his insufferability when it came to shoes was buying these excellent classic Converse All-Star Chuck Taylor Hi-Tops. Not only are they the cutest and coolest shoes out there (esp. in basic black), but if you double-knot the laces, your kid will never pry these off. Mine didn't.

He wore these (size 7, toddler) for a solid six months, and wore them out, but they never fell apart. They held up through playground duty, walks around the track, daily errands, being puked on more than a few times, and hence, thrown in the washing machine just as many. As Bob Seger would say, "like a rock."

When it came time to bronze our boy's first pair of baby shoes, these were the ones chosen to be immortalized in copper, forever freezing in time every wrinkle, fold, and worn-down rubber. They look even cooler all bronzed!

My boy's been wearing his size 8's now for about eight months, and although they're just about ready to pinch his big toes, they're holding up just as well as the first pair, despite more wear and tear. We break out the size 9's tomorrow.

    Hooray!

These particular shoes are in pink. Lucky for us, we just had a baby girl, so these are going on her pink tootsies just as soon as her feet are big enough.

    :)

  1. I wear these every day. They are absolutely outstanding, heavy padding on the bottom, great for walking and hiking.

  2. I've been buying them for years. I buy a few pairs every couple of years. They are hands-down the best socks I have ever worn. They are worth the price. They are very thich...just a FYI.

  1. We haven't had this very long, but it looks good, works well, seems like it should last much much longer than the nylon net ones.

  2. I love Cablenet. Easier to put on the rim than you'd think. Only cutting the excess cable requires some thought, and you'll need a good tool to crimp. People walk by and marvel at it. If you love basketball, you can't resist taking a shot. Then, you'll discover that it also works pretty well for allowing you to retrieve the ball after a made shot. It "catches" the ball nicely.

  1. The product itself is great (it does the job), and is probably stronger than the backboard I attached to it. It arrived promptly, in a sealed box (i.e. no fault of Amazon or SportsRus) but was missing some pieces. I called the manufacturer and they shipped them free of charge and with no hassle. Probably just a fluke.
