  1. This portable basketball system can be assembled by one person. A little difficult, but it can be accomplished. Some screws and washers were missing and the water float screw cover for the base arrived broken. I filled it with sand and gravel so it doesn't need to be drained before winter. After many hours of assembly, it turned out to be a nice system and is an attractive item.

  2. ASSEMBLY WAS ONLY 1 HR 55 MIN FOR 1 PERSON. BACKBOARD IS FLIMSY BUT DECENT. SLIGHTLY OVERPRICED BUT GETTING A BETTER DEAL ELSEWHERE IS UNLIKELY. OVERALL MEDIOKER. ;)

  3. I bought this item for my Grandsons. Their father was able to assemble with no problems, by himself, in an afternoon. Shipping was very prompt, which was very important for me. The Grandkids enjoy it immensely, and the price was right! I would recommend this unit for anyone. Also, the Spalding name was important as they make a quality product.

  4. I do not concur with other reviews on this product regarding putting it together. While admittedly it does take a little bit of time to put the product together, it is not really as difficult as described by others. The descriptions in the manual are clear and straightforward. I have put it together in about 3 hours completely on my own, so needing for 2-4 adults is a bit far fetched at least in my case. If you have difficulties with this, you probably will also not be able to put together furniture from IKEA.
It looks neat and is fairly sturdy.

  5. The system goes together easily despite the lack of picture instructions. I was able to assemble alone in 2 hours. The only downside, the base had a slow leak through the cap on the back side. I wrapped the thread with plumbers tape and added a 1/8th inch rubber seal ($3.50 at the hardware store) to stop the drip. The height adjustment is smooth and effortless. The kids love the new addition to the yard.

  1. The pole pad is used on an outdoor, 4 1/2" single pole standards. Putting the pad on was very easy with the attached straps. I am not sure about the life of the pad, given the harsh weather of cold as well as hot/humid temps that we have in the northeast. Our previous pads were longer, 6' compared to 5'. Right now, it looks good, but we will have to wait to determine its longevity.

  2. I purchased the Schutt Sports Universal Pole Pad to cover a support pole in my martial arts school and I am very satisfied with this product. I used regular mail and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived earlier than the expected date. I would recommend this product.

  1. We purchsed this basketball hoop for our 7 yr old son for his birthday. He loves it. It is nice because you can adjust it as they grow. It is sturdy and so far has stood up to few good storms. My husband put it together by himself in about 4-5 hrs and just need helped to attach the backboard. For $219.00 it is worth it.

  2. I was a little disappointed, the backboard is pretty thin and the support bars that go from the pole to the plastic base and the screw-holes in the base themselves seem like they could easily break with time. I only paid $179 through Amazon directly, with no shipping charge . . . so for that price, I feel it was a good enough deal. If my son continues to play bball, I will upgrade to a much more study setup.

As for the directions, they were slightly confusing. It took me longer than most to put together, I did it all myself with no help (as a single mom), EXCEPT for when I attached the backboard, THAT step does take two people!

  3. Overall it's a good basketball hoop. The polycarbonate backboard is very thin but it's sturdy enough with the support of steel frame. It took me 4 hours to put together with some help from my 13 years old girl. Some sections of the instruction are confusing. Some figures are incorrect or not clear. Once it's up, it is fun to play with. I paid $169 including shipping - a good price.

  1. Good socks. Only issue is the calf size. I bought them thinking they were for XL guys and they are very tight on the calf-so not very comfortable or easy to get on.

  2. Love the socks but the socks like to shed pilings all over my carpet, especially when my husband takes them off. Little pieces of wool all over the carpet. Have to vacuum every 3 days.

  3. One would think that a sock just keeps your feet warm, prevents them from stinking, or prevents blisters. Not true, this Gold Toe sock does this satisfactorily, however you could have much more. I recently purchased Wrightsocks and let me tell you, in the most basic terms: Cadillac comfort compared to Yugo ride quality.

  1. My grandson, 17 mos is all about balls and putting them into the basket.
This ball along with the Grow-to-Pro basketball hoop is exactly what he needed and will be with him for years of play.

  2. Our dog prefers that we kick a ball for her to retrieve, as opposed to throwing a ball like a tennis ball.

The problem is finding a ball that will stand up to her teeth and last a while. This basketball is small enough for her mouth and sturdy enough to withstand pucntures.

  3. This ball is just the right size for my black lab to play with it. It is sturdy, bounces well, and is just all around great. I couldn't find another sturdy ball this size anywhere else!

  4. I bought three of these balls to replace Park & Sun balls that were included with a mini basketball arcade game (that folded up in a cabinet). Anyway, these were just slightly smaller that the ones I was replacing - but these balls still work great. They look good and have a great feel to them - and are fairly bouncy (which is what I wanted with this game).
