2 comments about Veronese II Pointe Shoe - VER.

  1. I love these shoes (and Grishko 2007s). I have short, tapered toes, narrow to average feet, medium arches, and average strength. I frequently have trouble going flat up on the platform 'cause vamps are just too high and seem to hold my foot back. But these are great for tapered toes and surprisingly supportive for such a soft box. I actually prefer the medium shank because I tend to break the boxes down too fast working through the harder shank. Have your first pair professionally fit - but give them a try if you've had trouble getting over in other shoes. Yummy peachy colour, but I still like to use the Freed ribbons because I don't like to wear tights over my feet and the Chacott ribbons are a little scratchy.

  2. This shoe is a GORGEOUS color. Very unique, so they come with ribbons to match. I always get compliments on what a pretty shoe it is! This is a very soft shoe though. It died very quickly, even with a hard shank and I don't have archy feet. But these shoes are so comfortable that it's worth it. I could stand en pointe in these all day! But do buy a hard shank if you plan on wearing these for more than one class. I love them! I just wish they were cheaper because they're so soft... That said, always get professionally fitted for pointe shoes. Don't just buy them because they're pretty.

  1. These shoes make my arches look fantastic. I got them in black for a recital, and now I'm hooked.
They are extremely comfortable, and true to size. The heels felt a little thick on the bottom when I first got them but that will wear down a little with time.
I love Bloch's jazz shoes and ballet flats. They hold up really well, feel like they were made for my feet, and don't fall apart easily. If you want them to fit like a glove, buy all your Bloch shoes 2 to 3 sizes smaller that your street shoes. I like this cut of ballet flats much better than the Bloch SO258L Economy Split that my old studio required. If you have a choice in shoes, it's worth paying a bit more for the these Prolight II Hybrids. I just wish the elastic they come with came pre-sewn. I'm lazy.

  2. This item had little to be desired. Poor shipping-box was torn and not packaged right. This product was misrepresented, not the right color and very cheaply made. I will never order from them again.

  3. i got this for my 10 yo daughter who dances beginning ballet. her teacher recommended these because the split sole allows for better pointing. it's a nice leather slipper. just be aware that the elastic comes loose and has to be sewn own.

  1. These look fantastic on my feet and really flatter my arch. They are very supportive. However, when I bought them, the box was totally deformed on one side! I was still able to use them, but there was a huge dent in the side and it was super super painful. I finally had to just wet it and soften that side of the box. That said, there is a reason this is probably the most popular pointe shoe on the market. It seems to work well for many different types of feet. However, you should be fitted for any type of pointe shoe. Even if you have been en pointe for a long time, you should always at least try them on in person.

  2. If at all possible, have your fist fitting of any shoe done professionally and if you're not sure or are not quite experienced, be sure to have your teacher check the fit before you sew on ribbons/elastics.

There are so many shoes to try, and I have such fun trying new ones out, but these remain my perennial favorites. I have narrow, tapered feet w/ a strong, medium arch and shortish toes, and these always feel comfortable. The 3/4 shank is great: and it's good they come 3/4 because they are so well made on the inside it's virtually impossible to get at the shank yourself (I've tried!). My feet run hot and I literally melt shoes, but these last quite a while (it depends on how many classes I'm doing). The softer shank is good for demi-pointe and very easy to break in for a nice roll-through, but they do break down sooner than the hard shank. The shoes are very well made, but are noisy. I don't like the thickness under the pleats in the 2007 Pro, so I put up w/ the noise.
