  1. This is the most fun! We have enjoyed badminton and ping pong over the years and this is just as fun. It's a little easier for the grandkids, too.

  2. Speedminton is a great version of badminton. No net is needed and with the speedlights it is even more fun to play in the dark. All ages can enjoy this outdoor activity. It also is a nice gift to give to outdoor game players.Pro Performance Speedminton Fun Set

  3. I haven't personally seen this product because it was sent as a gift to my 10-year-old grandson. He is an only child raised by his mother, a full-time college student. Outdoor active play is almost non-existant for the two together. However, this actually got them playing and BOTH really enjoyed it. My daughter went so far as to say she'd enjoy more of it. They plan to bring the game along when they visit this summer. I did not rate this the full five because I have not personally tried it....YET.

  4. I mailed this set to my son and his family as a gift and it was a huge hit with all ages. I sent extra "birds" and extra lights for exciting night play and they just love it.

  5. This set is exactly what you would find in more expensive catalogs out there, only much cheaper!

  1. I ordered this set recently and have played with it several times now. While the poles are sturdy enough, and certainly more robust that what is found in cheaper sets, the overall package is hardly worth the money in absolute terms. I could not find a better set in my online and b&m search, so I guess I should be happy with a functional product. Considering the cost of materials, I would say this should be half or one third the price.

The racquets are average, with hard plastic grips. Advantage here is that the grip wrap won't come off. Disadvantage is that the grips are slick when wet and not very comfortable.

  2. Great badminton set. Very sturdy and easy to set up, except for the boundary lines - that was a little confusing. I highly recommend this set!!

  3. This set is very easy to set up and the poles are substantially heavier than less expensive badminton sets. However, one of the rackets broke the very first time we played. Overall, I do not feel it's worth the extra money. A less expensive set will work just as well.

  4. I ordered this more expensive set because I wanted a quality product. First thing I opened was a racquet and noticed it had broken strings. I looked through the plastic of the others and found another racquet with broken strings. The poles and net looked very sturdy but I was so disgusted at the poor quality control I packed it immediately back up to return it. I can buy better racquets and birdies at my local Big 5 for a lot less money. What's up with this company? I gave it one star because it got here in two days as promised - that was probably Amazon's doing though and now I'm out the extra shipping too!

  5. I was pleased with the quality of the net. Simple set up and ready to play within 5 mins. Only problem was the rackets can't withstand any strong hits. First racket broke within 10 mins of use and needs to be restrung.. This is considered a pro set, so I didn't expect the rackets to break like cheaper models.

  1. I bought these for the kids who love playing on the driveway and without a net. They only had rackets and shuttlecocks (we call them birdies) from the $1 store. Alas all the old shuttlecocks met their demise, so I bought them two inexpensive packs from Amazon. These were the best of the two kinds I bought. Being plastic, they don't hold their shape, but the noses stay attached. And the price is great!

  1. This game is fun for myself and my kids .....the birdie is very bouncy, which makes it easy to hit even if it hits the ground! Good exercise for all.

5 comments about Pro Performance Speedminton 3pk Night Speeders.

  1. The main reason I bought these is because they are for NIGHT play. They do not come with glow sticks and I had to turn around and buy them!!

  2. The Speedmitten Night Speeders are full of bounce and are highly visable in low light conditions. A lot of fun.

  3. I bought these to play with at the beach, and I loved the small, heavier design compared to regular shuttlecock. They were great for playing in the day with light wind. At night, however, they weren't very easy to play with. They should have come with the glow-sticks, in my opinion, but I had no real problem ordering them seperately (though they were quite expensive for what they are). You can see the birdies fine at night when they are right in front of you, but when they are flying through the air, they are pretty hard to play with when all you see is a faint-ish glow.

  4. Product description doesn't say that glow sticks have to purchesed separately, so these aren't glowing shuttlecocks. Also, they're realy tiny. Package doesn't include hints as to where to get the glow sticks. Waste of time & money.

  5. I was really disappointed that the glow sticks were not included with the Night Speeders. The product description was not clear about this. I understand buying refills but description should have stated that the glow sticks were not in package.

  1. What can you say, they're birdies! Not the best quality, but we'll just be bashing them around the backyard. How good do they have to be?

  1. Didn't realize what a deal I was getting until after I ordered. Paid $[...] each for 2 rackets, and now I see they're $[...]. I couldn't be happier. Strings are nice and tight and they are extremely light weight. I'm just a beginner, but I'm very happy with my purchase!

  1. I'm a beginning badminton player, though I played in high school which was decades ago.

I decided to get set up by buying one of each of the two rackets Amazon sold, and get a net, plus a pack of shuttlecocks.

Three weeks ago I set up the net and started playing. This racket has been fine. I think that the most difficult part of learning was getting used to where the head of the racket is. Its a quick game, quicker than tennis, and sometimes your shot is simply a reflex.

The racket has performed well and is tautly strung. I have since ordered a $[...] racket from another company and will compare the two when it arrives. Till then I play three games a day with this one and don't feel that it hurts my game. :-)
