- Hoop was easy for 2 people to set up. Seems stable and kids love it! Rim has nice feel and resolve. Would buy again!
- The assembly took 2 adults and about 2 hours, but wasn't extremely difficult for someone fairly handy. Kids started playing with it right away. We live in Arizona so our front yard is mostly gravel. We set the base on the gravel with the front edge (where the pole comes down) onto the driveway. This leaves us plenty of room to get the cars in and out of the driveway. I'm not sure how it would handle on grass. It seems sturdy, but we've only had it a few weeks. The pole feels solid-the box the system was shipped in weighed close to 60 lbs.! If you get free shipping I'd definitely recommend it.
- Received this backboard about a month ago - set up was totally easy, it looks great and my son loves it! Well worth the money.
- We recently purchased this item. It was easy to assemble. The frame is sturdy and portable with wheels. It met our needs perfect. We love it!

- ASSEMBLY WAS ONLY 1 HR 55 MIN FOR 1 PERSON. BACKBOARD IS FLIMSY BUT DECENT. SLIGHTLY OVERPRICED BUT GETTING A BETTER DEAL ELSEWHERE IS UNLIKELY. OVERALL MEDIOKER. ;)
- I bought this item for my Grandsons. Their father was able to assemble with no problems, by himself, in an afternoon. Shipping was very prompt, which was very important for me. The Grandkids enjoy it immensely, and the price was right! I would recommend this unit for anyone. Also, the Spalding name was important as they make a quality product.
- I do not concur with other reviews on this product regarding putting it together. While admittedly it does take a little bit of time to put the product together, it is not really as difficult as described by others. The descriptions in the manual are clear and straightforward. I have put it together in about 3 hours completely on my own, so needing for 2-4 adults is a bit far fetched at least in my case. If you have difficulties with this, you probably will also not be able to put together furniture from IKEA.
It looks neat and is fairly sturdy.
- The system goes together easily despite the lack of picture instructions. I was able to assemble alone in 2 hours. The only downside, the base had a slow leak through the cap on the back side. I wrapped the thread with plumbers tape and added a 1/8th inch rubber seal ($3.50 at the hardware store) to stop the drip. The height adjustment is smooth and effortless. The kids love the new addition to the yard.
- I bought this system as a suprise for my kids. It showed up in record time and I was very pleased with that. I was also pleased with the price. However, I am NOT very pleased with trying to put the thing together. I read the directions thoroughly and located all the parts necessary to put together just as instructed to do. Things were going fine until we figured out that when you put the poles together the way the directions and arrows instruct.....you are actually putting them on BACKWARDS!!! This isn't very fun since you can't get the poles apart now and you can't just unscrew one thing and turn it around. It truly is a great system look wise, but putting it together is a whole other story. Oh and poor customer service from the company for help as well.

- The box came torn up but all the parts were there. The directions are not the best but you can get through the set up. After all is said and done it is well made and my son and I enjoy it. We have had it for a few months now and with all the usage it gets its look like brand new.
- hoop works great.assembly manual lacks clarity and requires some interpretation on the rubber boots to get them intheright place.
I removed the center section of the 3 piece pole arrangement to use at 6 to 8 feet for my 5&6 yr old grandkids.Works great.
Moves around fine if you only half fill with water.
- I suppose the basketball goal itself is fairly decent for the price. I couldn't say for sure because after owning it for a month I have yet to get it up. It came with two different parts missing. The instructions are not very good and parts are not numbered and in some cases not even identified. I initially called customer service and had to go through the instruction book with them to show them the step where the part was supposed to be used. Even after being very specific in my description they still managed to send the wrong part. When I called them back to correct their mistake they were very uncooperative, but the customer service representative did promise she would upgrade my shipping. Unfortunately not only did she not upgrade but the part did not go out for nearly a week. I will never purchase another product from this company. I just hope I can get this thing up sometime soon.
- When I was looking at all the backet ball hoops, I was not sure which one to get. I just wanted one for my 11 year old daughter to practice with, not too expensive. This one is of good quality and it easily adjustible for different heights. I took two people to put it together but was not too hard. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a basketball hoop to play basketball.
- First of all the DHL truck dropped the box off in my front yard without letting me know. No doorbell rang. No knock. Then when we went to assemble the goal one of the rods wasn't the right length. Called the 1-800 # for lifetime products @ was told they would send another rod. As of this day we have yet to recieve it.Had the rod cut by a welder so that we could go ahead and get the goal put together since it was already 2 wks. past Christmas. Had problems putting the goal together. Directions aren't as clear as they should be. Finally got the goal put together & so far so good...What an ordeal.......

- This basketball goal and base by Lifetime is economical, relatively simple to put together, and pretty sturdy. The instructions are easy to follow, and no drilling or special tools are required. Because of possible liability concerns, safety is stressed. Although at a couple of steps, it states that two adults are required to complete the task, one adult with moderate strength and weight, exercising care, can safety get the job done. I put it together by myself, however if another person is available, it would certainly be advisable to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
The hollow plastic base can be filled with either water or sand to provide the required counterweight to support the pole and rim. It will cost more, but I recommend using sand rather than water, especially if you live in a cold weather area. The instructions state that 319 pounds of sand are required. Not sure about that, but it probably takes between 3 and 4 cubic feet of sand to fill the base.
The base has a pair of small plastic wheels that help you to move or position it. Once in place, you fill up the base to about half capacity, raise the goal upright, and then fill the base to capacity. Unless you are capable of moving a football blocking sled, don't' plan on moving the system very far, after it is filled. The pole and backboard will bend back and wobble during normal play. This is to be expected, as the system will not be as rigid as a regulation goal. The plastic backboard is smaller than regulation, so your angles for bank shots are tighter, but at least it is rectangular rather than rounded at the top. If you can dunk, take it easy or you could take the hoop down. The rim is black rather than orange. The net is low quality, and does not slow the ball down after a goal.
Although the system is pretty sturdy, long term life is an open question. There are exposed bolts and metallic parts, and the top of the pole is open, so if exposed to rain, corrosion is inevitable. The rim height is adjustable in six inch increments from 7.5 to 10 feet. Once you set the rim height, painting any unfinished metal parts might be a good idea.
Overall, this is a very good product for the price, especially if you get it on sale with Super Saver shipping. Hopefully it will hold up well under the elements. So far, I am loving it! My shot is improving, and I am also saving gas because I don't have to drive to the neighborhood park.
- Took about 3-4 hours to construct with tools and another person, so you should budget for that. Other than that, no complaints, it is what it is: a basketball hoop.
- This product was delivered within two days after ordering. I was very pleased with the product and put it together within a short time. Would recommend for anyone wishing a basketball system.
- This was a gift for my daughter, who enjoys shooting hoops but is not a serious player. It wasn't too difficult to put together, with the instructions being pretty clear. Just a couple of small parts weren't clearly pictured in the instructions so at first I thought they were missing but everything was there. I think it took me less than an hour to put together. But filling up the base with sand was quite a chore. It would be easy enough to fill with water, but I plan to leave this outside during the cold months so it was highly suggested that I use sand instead of water which would freeze and wreck the base. The backboard is sturdy and solid. This is my first portable basketball goal, so I was curious about how sturdy it would be -- but it doesn't wobble or move at all when you slam the ball into it so I'm quite pleased with it.
- It was hard to put together however, it made me feel like it was a strong product. My son loves it.

- This was for my 4 year old grandson. He called to tell me, "It's perfect!" It can even withstand the hyper-energy of his 7 year old big brother. What more can I say?
- The only thing about the system is that it's not the easiest thing to put together. Other than that. It's great for the price.
- This was a good value. It is sturdy and looks nice. It was a little difficult to put together, with 3 people needed at one point to hold things in place while someone else put in the hardware. Well worth it, but make sure you some extra hands when you're building it.
- I didn't expect this to perform like a more expensive glass backboard, but it performs fine for my kids. The assembly was simple, although the part to install the backboard and hoop requires two people. After filling the base with water (you can also use sand), I can easily tilt the pole forward to move it around given that I'm only 5'6" and weighs 150 pounds.
I set the height of the hoop at the lowest setting of 7.5 feet, and it can be set at 6-inch increments up to 10 feet. The backboad is sturdy although it needs a better backboard support system. Since this is a portable system, the backboard is not as stable as a permanent one and the backboard does not provide as good of a bounce to the ball. I think the backboard will be more stable if I fill the base with sand instead of water.
For $100, I'm happy with the purchase. It's durable and serves the purpose for me and my kids.
- Backboard smaller than I thought it would be but great item for the price. Our kids are small so it is sufficient for them.

- Works great. I would order it again. I will also be able to use it as a basketball goal for my kids during the pool off-season. It will take 2 people to put together.
- Very sturdy assembly and full size hoop. So far its been a lot of fun. I only wish they provided a drain plug for the base. You can still drain by removing the two top filler caps and tipping it to the side though.
- This is a great pool basketball hoop. Very heavy duty to support the big jams and it looks good.

5 comments about Spalding 88307H In-Ground Basketball System with 52-Inch Polycarbonate Backboard.
- I did much research, and decided on this in-ground hoop combo. I liked the width of the backboard for the price. I have 3 young sons, and bought this for them to grow up with. We have already had 300$ of enjoyment out of the hoop in the two weeks I have had it up. It did take 3 days before we could play on it (1 day for base, 1 day for pole, 1 day for both to dry). No regrets a great purchase!!!
- Bought this item for my sons birthday, had it up 2 days and the lever that raises it up and down broke. every time he would shoot it would fall straight down. Called the company and they were really nice and replaced the piece. So if you play alot of basketball be weary of this goal not really very sturdy.
- I am very pleased with this basketball system. It is very well built and was easy to assemble. The directions are well written and minimal tools are required. I was impressed at how easy it is to adjust the hoop to different heights with hardly any effort. I would definitely recommend this basketball system to others. Great product!
- Hoop was just what I thought it couldbe , my only complaint was the instructions were not too clear. Otherwise it is up and working fine.
- I wanted to get an in ground system and in retrospect I think I made a sound decision to purchased this particular item. The only thing I was a bit surprised by once I received it, is the amount of time and resources it took to install it. I used about 500 lbs of concrete in the installation process! 380 lbs went into the ground and another 120 lbs went inside the tubing (this is required for warranty and performance purposes). Since I only worked on weekends, it took me 10 days from start to finish. You have to wait twice at least for 24 hours to let the concrete cure. So, the first weekend I dug the hole, installed the in-ground sleeve and assembled the system. The second weekend I poured concrete into the metal tubing and the next day installed the whole thing into the in-ground sleeve.
Once installed, it does seem pretty sturdy. The height adjustment is very smooth and easy for any adult to adjust. Overall, it is very decent looking and a good value.

5 comments about Spalding Mini Jammer Junior Door-Mount Basketball System.
- This was purchased as a gift. The receiver has complained about hanging the hoop on the door. She wishes that it could be hung on the wall.
- This is so much fun. Our family loves to play and so do my friends. Just need to find the right door to hang it on. You also might want to put something behind it so it doesn't scratch the door.
- I specifically like the size of this basketball system. Usually, I like to shoot around when I get tired of studying, so the ball, rim, and board provides adequate sizing for my 5'6 frame. However, there is one major drawback to this basketball system. whenever I shoot and hit the backboard, the background would smack right onto the door and make a loud noise. Fortunately, I live parents who doesn't mind hearing a loud "thud".
- I purchased this for my son because he loves to shoot hoops in the basement. I wanted to purchase him a nicer backboard and hoop and found this one to fit the bill. It is nice with a large backboard and large, sturdy hoop. But their attachment to the door is very poor. You screw some small "U" metal attachments to the back of the board and hang it on the door. The backboard just doesn't set up on the door very well with this design. We have improvised with some towels and such to make it work better, but they really need to come up with a better door-attachment.
- I got this for my 9-year-old, and he loves it. The only problem is it's not snug on the door, and there isn't much padding under it, so every time the ball hits the backboard, the backboard bangs against the door, and it's very loud. Snugging it up with foam will probably help.
