- i would recomend this item to novices. the first week i got it i shout about 5000 rounds of it. then it started to fall apart. first the pump on it is sreewed in and when a shot alot it striped the screw and the pump fell of . since the pump holds it all together it started to just brake apart peice by peice. so if you want to use this gun a lot dont buy it will fall apart in a week or two. but if you are arent going to shoot alot out of it i would highly recomend it.
- This is a great gun for the price. It has some nice weight to it and it has a nice velocity. One of my favorite things about this gun is that it has a clip of 240!!! You can play 1-2 rounds without having to reload!!!
Now, for the drawbacks.... They say you can shoot up to 3 at once but really, its not worth it. Shoots like 20 feet with 3 at once really low powered and in-acurate. Another thing is with .12 gram bb's, after about 40 feet they curve up a ton. However with the .20 gram bb's this gun could be a sniper!!!
I WOULD BUY THIS GUN IF I WERE YOU!!!!!
- I had just bought this gun from a near by Walmart and it came with a pistol but thats nothte point. this gun a very good gun that shoots fairly hard and accurate. but aiming not as easy if you dont have a scope or sight to put on it. the clip works great(hold alot of bbs) but sometimes gets jammmed but that not the end of the world because since it is a shotgun you can pump it again and fire however many bbs you need to clear the jam....some bad things are that the trigger is tough to pull sometimes and sometimes the bbs dont load at all...but over all this is a solid gun that shoots hard and accurate if you look for a cheap gun to start out with this is your coice
- I bought this gun from my local Bass Pro Shop...
very heavy sturdy feel to the gun. holds a TON on BB's. accurate with .12's, but rediculous with .20's
overall, you cannot go wrong with this weapon...buy it now

- First of all,i want to say that tippmann makes very good paintball guns, and i was not disapointed in their airsoft guns.
This gun is extremely well made.
It may not have a metal body, but the gears are all steel.
Its rate of fire is insanely fast, with a full battery,i can fire off the clip in around 3 seconds,in close range, you can just totally tear your enemys apart.
The only reason i give this 4 stars is because the stock is a tiny bit loose, and the case is plastic.
Saying that, this is a durable gun, unlike other guns where your afraid to pull the trigger because you think your going to break it.
On the contrary, you feel like you can beat your enemy down with it.
So,here is the specifics of it.
pros:
Great rate of fire.
About 120 ft. of range.
Clips are pretty cheap.
Durable.
Its a tippmann.
Cons:
Low magazine capacity(40 rds)
Plastic shell(still tough)
Scope is fake(not that i use scopes anyway...)
Altogether a very good gun.

- This a great BB gun, it is easy to use and easy to learn with.
- For years Daisy produced a model 99 BB rifle in several variations that was somewhat accurate and used by JayCees, 4-H clubs, and other youth organizations for training and shooting competitions. In 1980 they introduced the Model 499 which is billed as the world's most accurate BB gun--and it seems to be. The exact name of this model is interesting--in literature, supplied with the gun, and on the barrel, it is referred to or marked Daisy Model 499B. It is packaged and shipped in a cardboard box labeled Avanti Champion 499. A few weeks ago I ordered one through Amazon for $96.70 (U.S.) and this is my experience to date:
It arrived in perfect condition. The 499 weighs 3.1 pounds. The barrel and receiver are metal and the finish appears to be black paint, finely and evenly applied. The stock and forearm are of some kind of hardwood, spray-stained a brownish color, with little visible grain, a raised cheek piece, fairly comfortable, and you can add weight to this gun by placing cold steel weights, not supplied, in concealed cavities in the forearm, by removing the forearm then reinstalling it. The stock also has a Daisy Official Shooting Education pressure-apply seal on it which adds nothing to the gun. The overall length is 36.375" with about 13.5" from trigger to butt of stock. This makes it quite usable by adults or youngsters. The stock can easily be shortened but it would be a good idea to first drill two straight pilot holes at the butt, into the stock, then trim off one or two sections from the butt at maybe 1" each. That way the stock can be lengthened again, as the youngster grows, and the pilot holes are already there for alignment and inserting some wood screws--may not look so great, but a cheap fix. You could also lengthen the stock (target trigger pull is normally 12" to 13" for adults, and sporting trigger pull 13" to 14") by fitting a variety of wood or delrin spacers, custom butt plates, or even a recoil pad to it, just like any other rifle.
The muzzle tube, which screws into the barrel, is 12" in overall length, including an attached plastic funnel fitting (that also fits into the barrel cylinder), and the actual muzzle barrel tube is 9" long. The black plastic trigger is ¼" wide with a good deal of left to right side play. I am estimating that the trigger pull is about 3½ lbs and it is supposed to be adjustable. The globe front site can be post or aperture, is metal with several changeable size and style inserts included in the package. The rear peep is metal and plastic, small, with an adjustable elevation knob and an adjustable windage screw. A much better peep sight, Daisy 5899 Receiver Sight, metal with some plastic, was supplied with this purchase but not installed, and has click adjustable windage and elevation knobs. Installation was quite simple--unscrew the old, attach and tighten the new. It required a slotted and a phillips screwdriver. There was also a 1" wide nylon adjustable web sling, with swivel and mounting screw, in the box but not installed. I am not planning on drilling the stock and installing it.
The 499 is a single-shot airgun that is loaded by dropping a BB down the muzzle where it will meet a magnetic shot seal. You can hear it click, and the BB will not roll out if the barrel is pointed down. Then you cock the gun with the plastic (probably delrin) lever, which is very easy to do and at a 3-pound pull does not require much in the way of effort. There is a safety on the right side of the gun, just above the trigger location, that is a forward/back switch. It stays in which ever position you put it and does not change when loading, cocking, or firing the gun.
Using the small installed peep sight is quite easy but the supplied upgrade is even better. Using Daisy, Premium Grade, Steel Airgun .177 Shot, that is also Zink plated, I was able to shoot several 5-shot groups, standing, about the size of a quarter, at about five meters. I also did the same at 10 meters, using a patio table for a rest. I am told that with practice, probably a lot for me, I should be able to get groupings the size of an aspirin at five meters. I think the airgun is capable, but I'm not so sure about the shooter. Daisy claims the maximum shooting distance is 152 yards--it might very well be. Daisy also says it is safe to "dry-fire" this airgun but they also warn you, in their packaged literature, DO NOT FIRE THE 499 WITH THE MUZZLE TUBE REMOVED AS IT WILL DAMAGE THE GUN!
I am quite satisfied with this airgun. It is very accurate, very quiet, easy to load, cock and shoot, and BBs, even Daisy Premium Grade, are really inexpensive. One must consider the price, and yes, the majority of the steel parts are stamped, it is a mass-produced piece, but the stock and forearm are wood and it is great for target shooting and plinking--particularly at 5 and 10 meters. The instructions packaged with the 499 are very informative and even show how to construct your own Target Trap/BB catcher. It would have been nice if they had included a schematic and parts list. I think I would like to figure out a way to tighten up the side to side play in the trigger, and maybe try a scope or red dot on it. However, it is not tapped for any such mount.
- This is the best BB gun the box I got says worlds most accurate. It is the on my team uses for 4-H bb gun competition and so does every other team we compete against. NOT a plinker it is a muzzle load one shot at a time. Gun is easily fixed if it ever breaks. The team has 8 and the only problems I have had in the past 3 years is the trigger spring sometimes falls out which is a little bit of a pain to put back in. This doesn't happen often and only after at least 8000 BB's. No other complaints. Get the better rear sight from daisy that has the adjustment knobs.
