  1. Ok I have played airsoft for 3 years and this gun by far is my best. The rate of fire is amazing. The gun itself is well built and hard to break. There are only 3 problems with this gun...the scope is useless, it's really hard to reload, and the speed loader is pretty crappy. The battery takes a little while but, not to long to reacharge and it lasts a while. The gun is really accurate and can shoot long distances. If you are looking at this gun buy it because it's a great value for a great price.

  2. This is a great gun if you are careful with it. mine is partially broken but still works and ive had it for about a year. The scope sucks, its mostly for show. The handle on mine broke very easily. The mag is very small and occasionaly lets bbs out. The battery is a pain. This gun has great power and accuracymy friend is scared of it even tho it is a bit broken. Great gun very fragile

  1. I bought this ak except mine is a CYMA (they are the same) as a backup for a custom m4 a week before my m4 broke. Of course i wasnt happy but i dont really care because this gun is absolutely awesome. Real metal in a matte black finish it is durable considering the real gun is known as the most reliable weapon on the planet and this is made from the exact same materials as the real ak. the high cap mag is ok but feels like its made of cheap plastic even though i havnt had any problems yet and winding is kinda difficult and fps is about 400 with a .2 highy recomend for anyone as a backup or primary because it is heavy for a smaller gun (8 pounds exactly) but in a good way. it can accurately hit a human sized target at about 150ft the only other problem i had was the stock is difficult to fold.

    Pros
-high fps (recoils as much as my .22)
    -accurate
    -metal (heavy)
    -tokyo marui compatible
    -good iron sights
    -easy to insert battery
    -authentic looking

    Cons
-orange tip looks really dumb (i just broke mine off and painted on my own)
    -magazine
    -difficult to fold

    overall definately buy this gun!!

2 comments about Gamo® Viper .177 Air Rifle with Illuminated Scope.

  1. This review is for the GAMO .177cal Viper w/scope.
The package includes gun, scope, Allen wrenches, instruction manual for installation of scope (which is not mounted), and owners manual for gun. You may also notice an addendum sheet for the scope installation as well as a card for returning the gun to GAMO versus where you purchased it if in the event something goes wrong requiring manufactures repair.
The first thing you have to do once you uncrate it, is to install the scope. The instructions are not very good so let me give you some hints. First, you'll notice the scope is installed on the upper ring rail. Using one of the three hex wrenches (which are included), remove the scope from the rings. The reason for this will be obvious in a moment. On the upper ring rail there is a "recoil pin screw. This mates with the hole in the main scope rail (on the gun). Place the upper rail onto the dove tail of the main rail with the recoil pin adjusted so that it extends into the hole of the main rail. Now lightly tighten the three side rail screws. Do them a little at a time to distribute the torgue evenly. Once that's done you can go ahead and attach the scope to the upper rail. Only tighten the rings screws (8) so that you can adjust the scope forward & aft as well as adjusting the cross hairs so they are plum and true (Straight up and down and side to side). Finish by tightening the 8 screws evenly. The left knob with the numbers is your illuminated reticle adjustment. The higher the number, the brighter the center dot. There is an index mark (machined dot) on the side of the scope. When set to zero, reticle is off. I forgot this and the first day I killed the battery. It takes a Lith/ion #CR 2032. Simply use a quarter in the side of the knob to unscrew the cap (You have to hold the base so the whole thing doesn't spin).
It took me a while to zero this gun because I didn't mount the scope properly the first time around. Once I did however, the gun zeroed in quickly. HINT-Use the same pellets throughout the entire zero process. Use the same distance and until you get close, only adjust windage or elevation, not both together. I shot 40 pellets at a target before I made a single adjustment. I used 10M (33 feet). Understand this, from what I have read, the gun usually needs about 200 pellets shot through before you start to notice consistent shots. I agree. Once this is achieved, you'll love how accurate this gun is. I am hitting a 32oz tomato can at 250 feet on the scopes lowest zoom setting without any leaning or resting on anything....yep just standing up. But if you rest the gun on something, you'll love the groups you'll get at 10 and 20 meters!
The gun comes with 50 PBA pellets which when used, allow for a nice supersonic "crack" as if you are firing a 22! Most of the other pellets will not allow this so if you like the noise, get the PBA, but for target shooting, they are not consistent enough.
Things I Like: I love the feel of this gun. The brake barrel breaks in after 30 uses and is easy for almost anyone. The safety is in a neat spot, easy to set once the shot is taken developing a good habit of setting the safety right after the shot is taken. (The safety is located just forward of the trigger). The Monte Carlo cheek rest. Quality of this gun is great for the most part. The gun, once broken in, is very accurate. The scope is decent, though the instructions are not.
Things I Didn't Like: I don't like the recoil too much. It's starting to get better as it continues to break in. This is not a deal breaker. I don't like the instructions. They could use some English editing. I wish it had a option for iron sights. I knew it had none when I bought it, but it would still be nice to shoot with the scope off. I am going to buy the GAMO Whisper for this purpose!
Summary. I love this gun. Since my work is seasonal, I have been shooting almost every day and never get tired of it. The accuracy blows me away! There are a few upgrades that you should consider if you are a seriuos shooter. The first is a new trigger. There is a better trigger for this gun. Search for it on the internet, you'll find it under GTX-III. Also, there is a company out there that sells and installs a gas spring that helps reduce the noise and the twang. But even without these upgrades, it's fine gun indeed. If this is your first gun, you won't be disappointed!

  2. Very solid gun, would definitely recommend to people who are willing to spend the money. I mostly use it to kill rats from a fourth story window in the city.

You have to be lucky to shoot a rat in the head from that far away, but you can almost always hit them center mass and then quickly reload once they are wounded. A rat's head and body are about the size of a quarter and a soda can, respectively. That gives you a rough idea of the accuracy.

Only complaint I have is that the gun comes with the scope attached to some sort of sight rail. After about five minutes of shooting the sight rail fell off and I couldn't get it back on. Had to attach the scope directly to the gun, and it comes loose if you don't tighten it periodically.

5 comments about Powerline CO2 .177 BB Semi Auto Pistol 15 Shot - Air Guns - Guns.

  1. I bought this at the Academy Sporting Goods store. It was $19.99 being sold as a
refurbished co2 pistol. I bought it and picked up the Daisy dot sight for a few
dollars and I've not been disappointed. It shoots loud and hard the first few shots.
I'm getting about 50 shots or so per co2 cartridge. I've enjoyed this neat little
pistol, and for $20.00I think it was a good buy.

  2. this gun is awsome its acurate and small i bought minne @ wallmart for $30
i live in the wilderness in a rural area. i was able to kill 3 racoons with this it took about 5 shots to kill a racoon the power in this small gun is remarkable this is a must have for hunting small animals.

  3. This gun is reliable, feels rather heavy almost like a real firearm (I own several, so I can accurately make that statement). This is great for training about handguns and gun safety. There are no magazines to break, which makes this gun that much more durable. The magazine release button serves instead as the safety on this weapon, which is virtually inpossible to break. This gun so so sturdy, I bet you could run over it with a truck and it would keep working fine. Note: I do not recommend runing over anything with any automobile, as tires popping are not a fair tradeoff in order to be confident of your gun's durability haha. Anyway, the seal where the co2 meets the gun is tight as can be. I had a co2 canister in mine for two weeks and it didn't lose any air. I finished off the co2 tank later on (i had only fired 5 or so shots when i put it in) and it worked for just as many rounds as a fresh one. I have had this gun for ages, and I can say that I have never had any problems with it whatsoever. I highly recommend buying this gun. It is ready to rock right out of the box, and does not require any lubrication of any kind, also I'm sure if you really wanted to then it could be done, though it is excellent by itself.

  4. I'm not into bb's for the reason that it's not good for indoor range. But I've heard and read good things about this bb pistol so I bought one (and bb trap to go with it.) For the price, you can't beat the power, quality (though it's mostly plastic,)appearance and feel of this gun. Also it's light weight and not too bad in accuracy. Has top rail for red dot/ laser.
It's so good that Crosman came out with the c-11 (comparable.) It has not misfire on me yet after about 500 shots.

  5. I got my first BB gun on my 13th birthday. It was a Daisy 840c Grizzly Camo .177 Pellet Rifle that also fired BB's as a repeater.(For $[...] at Wall-Mart instead of the $[...] here). For those of you who don't know a repeater is a gun that you dont have to physicaly place the BB or pellet in between shots. All you have to do is cock and pump. As opposed to semi-auto which means that for each trigger pull you get one shot with no reloading. The rifle was very fun for awhile but I decided that I wanted to try a different type of shooting so I got a Marksman 2000 Deluxe Repeater .177 Air Pistol for 20 dollars. That gun was incredible underpowered and could barely make it to the target that I had set up on the other side of my back yard. (25 feet). The bolt was cheaply made and eventualy broke. I decided that the only way that I could get a decent BB pistol was to buy a CO2 powered one. I looked through all the choises and decided on this one. The whole gun is non glossy black with a removable grip cover to insert the CO2 tank. The built-in magazine is annoying. You have to put the BB's somewhere steady while you load them because loading takes both hands. One hand holds back the spring and the other one loads them INDAVIDUALY. When I observed the action of the gun it was interesting. When you pull the trigger the internal barrel slides foreward so that the BB falls into it, and then snapps shut right before the CO2 is released. If you pull the trigger most of the way and then point the barrel down then the BB falls out the front. But the action is still fast enough that you would'nt notice this if you pull the trigger at a normal speed. The sight is a little annoying because it is not very precice. Even though the gun can eisily make it across a football feild, or two, or three, you would still have almost no chance of hitting the target. There are two mounts. One on the top and one on the bottom. It is possible but impracticle to put a scope on this pistol. I once took the scope from my rifle and put it on. the main problem is theat you can never hold a pistol as steady as you can hold a rifle. Putting a laser pointer on this gun works very well since the gun pretty much shoots exactly straight. The ideal would be to have a scope mounted on the top and a laser pointer on the bottom. Even though overall the gun is quite small the handle is very thick and can be comfortable for any size hand. The trigger has a very tricky pull. when I first pulled it I didn't pull it far enough. To be able to pull the trigger swiftly you need to use the very tip of your finger. The magazine has a very nice 15 shot capacity unlike the standard 8 rounds for most CO2 BB guns. One problem that was mentioned by another person is that the CO2 leaks. The solution to this is not to screw it EXACTLY as far as you can. if you screw it in too far it will ever so slightly slip back and release all of your expensice CO2. WARNING if this gun is shot at close rage to bare skin it WILL break the skin. Not to be shot at deer. While not imeaditly killing the deer it will stay in it's skin and likely die from tetnas or an infection slowly, and painfully. IF shot in the head this gun will kill any small rodents if that's what you're after. Overall 4 out of 5. Great gun.
