1 comments about Leapers 3-9x50 AO Mil-Dot Scope with R/G.
- Ignore the reviewer who has a grudge against Airsplat and hasn't followed Amazon's review guidelines. This is a review on the actual product...
First of all this scope is fairly large with a 50mm objective; this means that on some rifles your might need higher scope rings to mount properly, but since every rifle is different, you might need to test on your rifle to see what type of rings that you need. Fortunately rings are not expensive.
This scope has a mil-dot reticle, and once you learn how to use mil-dots, you'll never want to go back to a duplex or simple crosshairs, especially for long range target practice and range estimation.
The reticle can be illuminated by internal LEDs (red or green) and the brightness is controllable by the top-mounted rheostat. I don't use the illuminated reticle often, but sometimes in low light it's very handy. One drawback is that it is easy to forget to turn the illumination off and drain the battery, so be sure to double check before you put your rifle away.
The optical qualities of this scope are generally very good considering the price. At 3x the image is sharp and crisp, and at 9x there is only a slight hint of image softness toward the edges. The large objective keeps the image bright even in diminishing lighting conditions. There is a slight shift in eye relief in going from 3x to 9x, which is common in all but the pricier scopes, but you should make sure it doesn't bother you for your application.
The scope has adjustable eyepiece diopter that seems to go to at least +/- 3, good enough for my eyes. More importantly, this is an AO (adjustable objective) scope, which means that the front lens group can be turned to focus as close 5 yards- great (and necessary) if you are mounting this scope on an air rifle for closer range shooting. The scope is also internally reinforced for mounting on springer air guns, and is rated to withstand the brutal reverse recoil on these guns that can tear other scope apart.
The rings controlling both power (3-9x) and parallax/focus can be a little stiff to to turn, but not overly so. At least they will stay in the position you set them.
The elevation and windage adjustments are easy to set with your fingers (they don't require a coin screw like some other scope), and seem to have plenty range (1/4 MOA). They are protected by screw-off covers.
The scope also comes with a nice metal sunshade that screws on the front, and lens covers for the front and rear that can be aggravating sometimes - they are spring loaded covers that pop open occasionally on their own.
Overall this is a nicely finished, optically very good mil-dot scope that is great for longer range targets, or for mounting on air rifles. Since it is a large scope, it might be slightly unwieldy on small carbines or lightweight rifles where another Leapers scope (the Bugbuster) might be more appropriate. A great value for the money.

2 comments about Taurus PT 24/7 w/Fixed Plastic Slide CO2 Gas Powered Airsoft Gun - Black.
- Great shot, reasonable clip size, great price, great buy for a side-arm, or dual-wield them as your main weapon! CO2 use is very efficient for the power(around 400-440 on average, 440 with a fresh cartridge; I sawed an AriZona green tea can in half at point blank in two clips), and the weight of the gun is great. Grip feels GREAT in your hand. All around good buy. You can get them for the same price less S&H at Sports Authority, so I suggest that if available.
- If you are looking for a sidearm but dont want to have to deal with green gas, this is arguably the best CO2 powered gun made. Instead of hop-up, it features a newly developed BAXS accuracy system. And after shooting it, i wish my JG G36c also featured BAXS. This pistol easily clears 380 fps and is extremely accurate. It goes about 150-175 feet before dropping. This is a very reliable sidearm. I was hitting people from over 100 ft away in thier masks. The slide is made of plastic and the grip is rubber. It has a metal trigger and the rest of the body is ABS plastic(very durable). The magazine is similar to a green gas magazine. It has a button on the back which when pressed, releases CO2. The magzine makes up most of the wieght. The magzine is one of the best I have ever seen. It is also Full metal. This gun is amazing and i would recommend it to every airosft player. If you are going to buy it, do NOT order it from here. Order it from airsplat. Cheaper and better service.
PROS:
Accurate
Good Range
Looks Cool
Affordable
Fast
Leaves welts from <70
CONS:
Plastic Slide
15 rnd magazine

- This gun is incredible. It's a Tokyo Marui clone, and it performs just like one. Most of the body is metal, so you know it's sturdy. It shoots about 315 fps, which is great for the price ($120 after shipping). This is probably the best deal you'll get if you're semi-serious about the sport.
