  1. My wife has other workout gyms/equipment at home and this one works out her abs the best! This is a must have!

Even though my wife is 5'1, the Everlast Absolute Crunch is adjustable. It can work for her and a 6 feet me. This is great!

If you buy this, you will not be disappointed. You really feel it working, while you are using this equipment and you can take it any where.

  2. The Absolute Crunch gives a good assist for folks who need more neck support. Just keep focused on using your core muscles. Once you customize the straps for comfort, it can offer a new motivation to do more crunches and it's very light to pack for trips.

5 comments about Everlast for Her Pilates 4 Way Ab Stretch.

  1. When the first one arrived, it had only 2 of the 4 shown tension adjusters on it. I thought it must be a defective model and I returned it, asking for a replacement. I asked that the shipper check the box had the correct product before sending replacement. The replacement came and still had only 2 of 4 tension adjusters. This box had no signs of being opened, checked and re-sealed. I've returned the 2nd one and will seek another company's stretcher that is truly what is pictured and advertised. If a product is stripped of features, the photos and advertising should reflect the change and not be sold as the originally equipped model.

  2. A regular exercise program would give the same results. This just breaks up the monotony.

  3. This is a real pain to keep adjusting for stretch. It's not the easiest to adjust either. I don't use it very often just for that reason.

  4. This is the most under-rated piece of equipment I've ever seen. First, it's not just for women..it was once marketed to both men and women. Second, it's not only for abs - in fact I've found it particularly helpful for upper arm strength, especially triceps. I started using this when I was completely out of shape, based on the notion that five to ten minutes first thing every morning (combined with more attention to my diet) would be a good start. I found it easy to keep to this schedule, and varied the exercises somewhat day by day. I was amazed at the progress I saw in about 30 days, both in terms of my muscle strength and my stamina, and have now been using this for over two years! I've never been good at keeping up with a health club membership. While this does not provide the full workout you can get at a health club, the fact that it's so easy to use and can be used for so many muscle groups has turned me into a real fan. In less time than I'd spend travelling to the health club, I'm done with my morning exercises. It's light and non-metallic, so I can pack it when I travel and use it on the road. It's also adjustable, so as you develop muscle strength, you can increase the tension level. You can choose to do a set number of repetitions, or (as you get more toned) work till you achieve muscle failure. The price is ridiculously cheap (alright- it's just a couple of bungee cords with handles and a center tie). I've given these as presents to about ten of my friends who have not regularly exercised, with encouragement to use it every day, even if for a short period. While I have now supplemented this with free weights and some other items, I continue to use this daily and to be amazed at how useful this little thing is.

  5. Not too much work to it, but I think that's all some people need. Builds muscle in your arms really fast, but for me, that was about it. The examples for use weren't much to me. Anyway, great for arms!

  1. This is a very good machine for beginners or intermediate levels and not for people with too much extra weight,in fact no home gym machine is made for extra big bodies, that's a fact, and if consumer needs or wants extra heavy duty machines either has to go to the gym or purchase gym machines that cost at least 500 hundred dollars to start.
That's why this one doesn't cost more than 150.
Paying more than that is crazy but for a 100 o 150 its worth it.
Mine has the first level resistance bands and the advanced level ones, because I have an advance training level and I was using it in a regular base for a few months, unfortunatly I had to move and have no space for it in my new place and that's the only reason why I am selling mine, other than that I would keep it because it makes a great job.
The dvd is not very fun to follow and I used it just to learn how to use it properly but after that I used to do the exercises while watching tv because is very easy to learn or with my favourite music selection.
Just 30 minutes 3 times a week gave wonderful results, specially in my behind area, shaping,re shaping and turning "up" what before was going "down" and the results last, because you are working with the weight of your own body and not with extra weight, the 'calistenics" way, that is the best way to achieve long lasting results.
I particulary never believe in reviews from companies, because many times I see them giving the best reviews to the worse products, only because they are paid for that so I just believe in real consumer's reviews and in this case I am one of them.
Again this is an excelent machine for home use individuals, and following the dvd indications is very important to learn fist of all how to position your body correctly and secondly to get the most benefit from the exercises rutine.
To achieve the same isolation of the muscles involved in this exercises, you need to do a lot and I mean it a lot of pilates or calistenic exercises than can kill your back -if you are able to do them- and the work is not as effective and fast resulted as with the use of a machine like this.
I was a ballerina for several years and I practice ashtanga yoga, pilates and biking in a regular base so I guess I know what I am talking about.

  2. Consumer Reports, in the February 2008 issue, evaluates this and says: "One of the resistance bands unhooked itself from the frame during our initial evaluation ... striking our staffer.... We confirmed the design flaw on two other units.... We don't recommend this device for anyone."

  1. do not waste your money. when item was used beyond stated return days to assure it was given a fair chance to actually work, company refused to take the item back. let the buyer beware.

  2. Let me start out by saying, I'm a middle-aged woman who has given birth to two children. I'm in decent shape physically, do 2-3 miles per day, eat a low-calorie/low fat diet, and do extended sessions on this machine (almost) every day.

It's a low stress (no back pain), tolerable workout and I can watch stuff on TiVO while I do it. I've got nothing close to a six-pack, but this machine enables me to keep the flab from folding over the top of my jeans and feel good about my gut.

It folds up nicely and doesn't take up too much room. And of all the "ab" gizmos I've tried over the years, it's the one I like the best.

  3. I agree and disagree with what the other review said. Not everyone is a "young buck". Crunches DO hurt your back and neck if not done properly or if you already suffer from back pain. Most machines like this one just help you with your form. I agree that you shouldn't expect to eat whatever you want and use the AbScissor for 4 minutes a day and have a 6 pack. I think the AbScissor is best if you use it in addition to your regular diet and exercise program to maybe push you past a plateau and enhance your results (you can adjust the difficulty as well). For the most part, I recommend this for people who already have an exercise regimen or for people that eat healthy and want to get rid of a little pouch. I wouldnt suggest this for super athletic people, it might not be challenging enough. A tip if you do decide to buy: dont make this an arm workout, you will not see results. Like any other exercise, if you commit to it you will see results.

  4. If you're a senior citizen over 60 that is plagued by physical problems willing to pay 250 bucks out of your wealthy retirement money to own the AbScissor, then have at it. But if you're a young gun like me, you might as well get on the floor and start gettin' after them crunches. Body by Jake commercials don't do any justice, because they always mention how crunches "strain" your back. That makes me chuckle. Why? Well, I for one have yet to do a crunch that ever hurt my back, or my neck for that matter. Besides, crunches are the best way to strengthen abdominal muscles; no other way to put it. And if you're wanting your abdominal muscles to show, the only way to do it is to go on a diet. Simply put, abs are made in the kitchen before they are made in exercise.

This product is advertised that if you do this exercise for four minutes a day that your abs will show in no time. Riiiiight. Many fitness experts have said that it has taken them years to develop good abdominals.

So who are you going to believe, the experts or a product out to get your dollar?

  1. The Item seems great, puchased at BIG 5 Sporting goods Located Eureka California 15.00 dollers total. if it breaks or if some thing happens in a year the Box has warrenty there peace of Paper in the the box explaining to call them and thell mail u a nother peace what ever breaks in a year time. so if 3 thing break seperate thell send u a nother one free. 18006543955 toll free. if it breaks they tell u to mail it back to the company at your paid expense. they say not to return it back to the store but who care what they think if it break il take it back to the store. I taped my receipt to the box. Im kinda picky and I want it to
last. it seems kinda cheap. hollow plastic. meddle Bar and 2 wheel go between the 2 wheels. then u push on a Nurf black handle the same handle used on fishing poles. this item is ( Made in Communist republic of CHINA) Its Cheap. but who dident say its ganna work. I have tryed it and it feel great. on the belly burns. it feel kinda like your belly is ganna crack open you belly and cause a osler. too much may be bad for your back but it depends on the person. I rate this Item 3 star. because the plastic seem cheap. or look like its ganna wear down or crack open.

  2. First of all, I love using it. I can feel my core improving in ways crunches couldn't do.

I have a concern about the long term durability of this wheel, however. The metal pole through the center appears to simply grind away against the less dense plastic wheel and it is just leaving a blue powder everywhere. Eventually the wheel will need to be replaced.

  3. Sometimes the simplest thing can be the best thing in the world. Gee, I wish I came up with this gadget, I would be a millionaire by now. If you want to work your arms, abs, back, just use this EVIL WHEEL everyday. Forget about Sit Ups, and wasting money on BIG HEAVY machine. This Wheel can be used for ANYONE ANY age, ANY sex, and of course at ANY place~! Do not worry, I will come up with some gadget next time and be a millionaire! We all be glad I did

  4. I've been working out 3 times a week since 1972. But I had a lower back injury 2 years ago that severely limited what I could do. I have been able to do a partial workout since then, but my overall general physical condition gradually deteriorated. I put on about 10 pounds and lost some muscle tone. But now, thanks to patience and a good osteopath, I'm finally able to get back into the full routine again. I've found this Altus Ab Wheel to be extremely fast-working and effective. I've been using it for a little over a month and I have gotten dramatic visible results. At the beginning it was not easy, but I'm now at the intermediate stage and have firmed up considerably. This device doesn't just work the abdominal muscles. It works to some extent on the entire body, especially the arms, chest and shoulders. Of course the Ab Wheel won't do it alone. It's important to get aerobic exercise that causes a good sweat and if you want washboard abs, you'll have to diet as well. I'm very pleased with the results I've had so far. I expect to move on to the "advanced" stage next week. This is a good piece of exercise equipment and it takes up virtually no room in a crowded New York apartment. I wish I had gotten it a long time ago.

  5. I don't think the 3 star review was fair. Yes, there are tons of ab devices out there, but you know what, majority of them were a waist of money. The fact is nothing really beats ab exercises, however if you are looking for an alternative ab strengthening exercise to change things up this is for you. I would like to add I was very skeptical about buying this. It wasn't till I read an article written by someone I respect in the fitness world that raved about ab wheels in general. Well I bought this one at [...] because after shipping I was still paying less. However, the thing is this device is great for beginners or/and rookies. Just take your time, do it right, and do it at least everyday.
