5 comments about Ab Wheel (EA).

  1. A lot of people probably have thier doubts about the effectiveness of a product of this nature. My comments won't offer any advice on that issue. I have used similar products with good results. My issue with this product is that the manufacturer seemed to rush this "Ab Wheel" onto a profitable fitness market without any checks and balances. The materials are about as cheap as they come and there is no stabilzation with the wheels, which (because there are two and too much space allowed) wobble back and forth. The result is that not only did the company (EA) decide to save the 20 cents or less required to at least employ stoppers to resrict the sideways wheel movement, but they apparently want you as the consumer to focus more on this design mishap then the solid, fluid motion that would be needed to achieve any results. I would not recommend this product and would suggest to anyone considering this product that they search out another manufacturer or make on themselves (PVC pipe, two lounge wheels, two bike handle bars and yes two rubber stoppers would be the equivalent).

  2. The wheel is very well made. The two interior wheels spin independantly which allows good movement. I thought it was very hard to do. Even my 15 year old son who is in shape found it very challenging. The very first time I used it I put my back out for two weeks! My fault though... I pushed myself too far. I now only use it with "baby" movements. If your back is strong, I would highly recommend it. Plus, you can't beat it for the price!

  3. This product works really well for toning up abs. However, the buyer should be aware that it's very important that they FIRST strengthen their lower back muscles for awhile before using it. I did not and my lower back was in a lot of pain for about two weeks. I have now let it rest and heal and have also been doing weight exercises to strengthen it before using the ab wheel again. Had I know what I would do to my back, I would have definitely done the back exercises first. I'm almost better though and planning on using the ab wheel again. Just as a side note, people had warned me as well that it would be hard on my lower back and I didn't take their advice...

  4. This is a good product for the money. The wheels aren't locked in as tight as they could be, in other words, they slide back and forth as you roll out and back. This can cause them to rub against the sides of your hands, which is no big deal, just a bit annoying. But like I said, for $15 it's still a pretty good product, definitely hits your abs.

  5. This is probably the best Ab roller you can get for this price. But, after using it for a spell, I'd say the Ab roller as a device is overrated. Stick with the classic bicycle crunch. The American Council on Exercise found this exercise produced the greatest amount of electrical activity in the abdominal region (2.5 times more than using an Ab wheel). Happy exercising!

  1. Had this for about 2 months. Use it on a weekly basis to strengthen my core. Like the ability to increase/lower the angle of the tilt. Cushion is of durable material and is long enough for me (I'm 5'7). Everything's built solid.

  2. First time to buy this product. It is an excellent addition to my growing home gym. I like it and helps me build a stronger physique.

  1. I love ab wheels and this wheel has not let me down.

Have yet to embrace my feet, but from my knees I have been pleased.

  2. One of the best tools for developing your abs and core. Much better than crunches! Well made and easy to use (but not easy to do), highly recommended.

  3. Torque Athletics(www.torqueathletic.com) "Ab Grinder" is far better constructed(like comparing a Ford Ranger truck to a Peterbuilt) and has a lower center of gravity allowing a more productive workout.

  4. This is another extraordinary piece of equipment made by Lifeline. The simple fact is that there are instances where only a specialized piece of exercise equipment can do the best job in hitting certain muscles in a certain way. There is no substitute for Power Wheel pikeups, or certain animal movements. I consider the Power Wheel to be one of the top 3 pieces of exercise specific equipment a person could have. Plus it can be used as an ab wheel....two birds with one stone. And it is $25 less than the "Ab Grinder."

  1. Although a bit confusing in the assembly instruction it is very sturdy for the price. Overall it works for the space where I have to place it.

  2. I bought this item as a Christmas gift. The receipient enjoys it immensely as both a Roman Chair style machine and a sit-up bench. It is solidly constructed and has adjustable legs and height. The cushions allow the user to relax while using the machine to stretch the back muscles. My only complaint is that the assembly directions provided only showed exploded diagrams of the product, and no simple step by step directions. This made the gift incredibly frustrating until we finally figured out how to put it together.

5 comments about Everlast Armor Abs II.

  1. This is the worst piece of junk I have purchased. I should have looked at the reviews first. I put it together and it broke right away. I tried to fix it and it worked for three usese. After the thirs use, the bands snaped and I had to throw it away. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS!!!!

  2. The armor abs II seemed to work pretty good for the first couple of days but then one of the elastic bands on the inside snapped within one week. I had it on the hardest setting at the time when it broke. I followed the instructions on how many reps should be done each time and how to use the product correctly and within one week it broke. The idea behind it seems pretty good and seems to work but I think you are better of getting a more quality built product from another company.

  3. This little device is easy to put together and easy to use. Not for 'intensive' workouts however, you can pretty much use it anyplace you're sitting down. That could mean even while the TV is on! Like all exercise equipment, if you don't use it you lose it.

  4. I bought the armor abs because my gym membership just ended at my college. So I wanted to get a few small workout machines for home. The day i got it, one of the rubber bands popped of its holder already. The machine is designed very poorly, although what can you expect for the price. I've had to reattach the bands at least 15 times over the past week, and today one of the rubber band holders snapped in half, leaveing that resistance level useless :-( . Overall though, i have to say, i really love this thing. If it wasnt for the d*mn bands flyin off all the time, it would be a great peice of equipment. If you use it carefully and correctly, you may be able to avoid these problems though. I give it a two because i love the machine, but i hate its bad habits....

  5. Very easy to use and adjustments to tension are made by just turning the handle. The abs 2 gives you are very good workout with minimum effort. Its a lot better than doing conventional crunches or situps.
