  1. This is a good item for limited exercise. Easy to use.
Kinda' like minimalist Yoga! Like all exercise equipment if you don't use it you lose it!

  1. This product is much better than average once you get it right. I had screws missing and the headboard was bad. After finally getting replacements, two follow ups by me, it works well. I am not sure it is worth the price though

  2. This product is WAY overpriced!!!! I called customer service when I went to buy it and I asked why it cost so much...the woman couldn't tell me much. I bought it anyway...thinking it was going to be GREAT and it is ok. It doesn't come with any instructions on how to use it - different exercises. I haven't tried the cheaper ab rollers...so I don't know if they are even worse. It is super heavy. The instructions on how to put it together even had typos....makes me wonder where this was made....I'm very disappointed.

  3. I have been working out for over 10 years now and know which equipment works best. I haven't been able to go to the gym as much so I went to Big 5 and bought the basic ab roller for $30. After using it for about a week I returned it. The cheap ab roller was very light and moved around while I did the exercises and it was uneven and leaned to the left as I lifted up. Then I did some reseacrh and decided to purchase the club pro. Right alway I knew this was a strong machine by the weight of the trainer. It is much smoother and the extra weight makes the workouts a little harder, you will feel the burn much more then the basic ab roller. I use to use this one at 24 hour fitness but it disappeared one day. I really recommend this product. The downside is that its expensive and a little uncomfortable, i'm 5'10 and my arms barely reach the arm rest. I don't really use the arm rest so I don't mind it. If your a small person under 5"8, this machine will be to big for you.

  4. I used this in the gym I go to, and figured all "ab rollers" were alike, so went out and bought one to use at home. It didn't look all that different, but when you use it, you know there's a difference. Money down the drain, because it was pretty much unusable. Only then did I go back to the gym and take note of the actual make and model of the one I was using there (which is this one). I was disappointed at the cost - it is, after all, pretty much just a piece of tubular metal with some bends in it - like all the others, in that regard. But the others just don't feel right. Is it worth the money? I don't know. Is it better than the cheaper ones? Definitely.

  5. the people who write negative comments about this unit surprise me. I've used many 'ab-machines' and none isolate the abdominal region as good as this. My gym had one of these and i used it all the time untill someone stole it, so i went ahead and forked over the 180 bucks to have it delivered.
I mean Oprah Winfrey gives it her endorsement what more do you need.

5 comments about Altus Dual Exercise Wheel (EA).

  1. First of all, I love using it. I can feel my core improving in ways crunches couldn't do.

I have a concern about the long term durability of this wheel, however. The metal pole through the center appears to simply grind away against the less dense plastic wheel and it is just leaving a blue powder everywhere. Eventually the wheel will need to be replaced.

  2. Sometimes the simplest thing can be the best thing in the world. Gee, I wish I came up with this gadget, I would be a millionaire by now. If you want to work your arms, abs, back, just use this EVIL WHEEL everyday. Forget about Sit Ups, and wasting money on BIG HEAVY machine. This Wheel can be used for ANYONE ANY age, ANY sex, and of course at ANY place~! Do not worry, I will come up with some gadget next time and be a millionaire! We all be glad I did

  3. I've been working out 3 times a week since 1972. But I had a lower back injury 2 years ago that severely limited what I could do. I have been able to do a partial workout since then, but my overall general physical condition gradually deteriorated. I put on about 10 pounds and lost some muscle tone. But now, thanks to patience and a good osteopath, I'm finally able to get back into the full routine again. I've found this Altus Ab Wheel to be extremely fast-working and effective. I've been using it for a little over a month and I have gotten dramatic visible results. At the beginning it was not easy, but I'm now at the intermediate stage and have firmed up considerably. This device doesn't just work the abdominal muscles. It works to some extent on the entire body, especially the arms, chest and shoulders. Of course the Ab Wheel won't do it alone. It's important to get aerobic exercise that causes a good sweat and if you want washboard abs, you'll have to diet as well. I'm very pleased with the results I've had so far. I expect to move on to the "advanced" stage next week. This is a good piece of exercise equipment and it takes up virtually no room in a crowded New York apartment. I wish I had gotten it a long time ago.

  4. I don't think the 3 star review was fair. Yes, there are tons of ab devices out there, but you know what, majority of them were a waist of money. The fact is nothing really beats ab exercises, however if you are looking for an alternative ab strengthening exercise to change things up this is for you. I would like to add I was very skeptical about buying this. It wasn't till I read an article written by someone I respect in the fitness world that raved about ab wheels in general. Well I bought this one at [...] because after shipping I was still paying less. However, the thing is this device is great for beginners or/and rookies. Just take your time, do it right, and do it at least everyday.

  5. Yes, this is works, although it's not something a beginner will excel in right away. This particular abdominal tool is for the intermediate to advanced. Still, the worst part in the design is the material used. It smells like an old, cheap rubber tire, and when you're done using it, your hands reek even after washing them. It's under eight bucks for a reason. There are other useful ab tools out there. My advice is to investigate them all before purchasing.

  1. The Ab Slings are better than I expected. They are heavy duty commercial grade slings better than some I have seen in a lot of gyms. I love them. Amazon was great as well. Product was ordered and delivered with no problems I was using the Ab slings within a week of placing my order.

  1. In my opinion the actual bench part seems a little narrow, I think it would be better suited if the bench were a little wider...Other then that, it is stronly made and easy to put together...It is worth the money......

  2. This is a good product, works for what i want it for, it is solid but not as sturdy as i would have hoped. Overall works great

  3. Simple construction, yet solid. Easy to put together. The welds on the base are not smooth or even. Looks like an apprentice on his first day did them. Looks like they will hold up to normal use. Otherwise its worth the money.

4 comments about Powertec Fitness P-HC 45 Dual Hyperextension / Roman Chair.

  1. This is a high quality piece of execercise equipment. The assembly was easy although there were no written instructions, just a picture of the unit. The chair is rock solid and very easy to adjust. I would definitely buy this chair again and I recommend it to anyone who is looking at strengthening their core.

  2. I have been in the market for a roman chair to strengthen my back and this chair is everything that I could expect. The machine is solid and remains stable during all exercises. The pads are positioned apart to accommodate men. The positioning of the pads did not feel correct but after using it for a week it felt right. The adjust ability of the machine allows different sized people to utilize the machine with minimal effort. All the Powertec products that I have purchased have been great.

  3. I purchased this Hyper/roman chair made by Powertec because I own Powertec's leverage workbench and it is an OUTSTANDING, SOLID piece of equipment so, I thought that I couldn't go wrong with their Roman Chair- I was correct to think so. The P-HR 45 by Powertec feels extremely SOLID while in use. The previous review complained about the pads being set to far apart- I did not find that to be so. I actually think that Powertec did this so that men could do Hyperextensions on this equipment in comfort and not have to worry about the family jewels being ruined. (Thanks Powertec!) Most Hyper/Roman chairs that I have seen are a bit huge. This chair surprisingly takes up very little space. It is very important that you FOLLOW DIRECTIONS when putting this together. It states that you should NOT tighten the bolts when putting this together until all the bolts are in place. I put all bolts into place and then tightened them starting from the bottom of the chair and worked my way up. TRUST me when I tell you that you should take heed to this as it really does make a difference as to how solid this machine will feel to you when you are using it. To me, there is nothing more important than to have your abs and lower back in there absolute best shape. Do yourself a favor and add this EXCELLENT piece of equipment to your home gym.

  4. It says that is adjust from 45 to 90 degrees, but it is more like a 55 degree angle I would say. But I knew that when I purchased it, you can clearly tell from the picture that's no 45 degree angle. Since I bought mine I notice there is one by bodycraft now that clearly does adjust all the way from 45 to 90, so if the more straight up angle is important to you you might want that one instead. The two pads were too far apart so I had to reverse them so they are closer together (how wide do they think peoples hips are?), but with them closer together you can't adjust it all the way to the 90 degree angle. And the one pad sticks out about 1/2 and inch further then the other on mine (even before I switched them). Why'd I still give it 4 stars?...well I don't want to automatically discourage people (I usually don't even look at anything with below a 4 star rating), maybe my problems were exclusive to me, and I haven't tried any of the others to know how they compare. Anyhow I'm keeping mine problems and all (not much on returning stuff), seems solid and well constsructed and will do the job. No more important muscle to work than the all important lower back.
