2 comments about Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the Way (Tab Grv).
- Why aren't all tab books released like this? Why always do we only get a choice of easy guitar, guitar and bass guitar transcribed books? The purpose of music is to play as a band thank you very much Mr Hal Leonard and you lot down at Cherry Lane!!! As for this release, it's nothing short of brilliant.. the solos are all there, so are the piano, keyboard and orchestrated parts, even drum and subtle percussion tabs are here... all correct and in their proper places... what more could you ask for? Ok, it's easy to get lost if you aren't too into music theory (Codas anyone?), but who cares? The Chili's seem to pull it off pretty easily enough! The only critism I have is that the bass parts don't distinguish between when Flea plays with his fingers pizzicato style and when he's slapping the hell out of his four string beastie, also it isn't too clear on what sorts of effects should be used in what parts of Frusciante's solos. I guess he's keeping his guitar wizardry a secret still... but anyhoo, I'm glad I got this instead of the bass only version... you can share it around with your mates this way!
- When I ordered this book, I wasn't expecting it to be the best book, but when I got it, I was amazed that it was precisely accurate. I thought that it was going to be without some of the music, but all of it is in there. And I think it forgot to mention that there was guitar tab in there if you read music that way, and there is, so no worries. It's pretty cool though because I'm able to play some of the stuff on piano and bass, and this is the best way to go because otherwise you'd have to pay 15 or more dollars to get the separate books. Plus, it's cheaper than buying it for regular price which is why I bought it off of amazon rather than going to some other music store. All in all, i'm pretty satisfied with this. I'd say that if you're really looking into buying a "By the Way" book, I'd go with this.

4 comments about Red Hot Chili Peppers - Greatest Hits: Guitar Recorded Versions (Music).
- This book is the guitar tabs for greatest hits of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It is easy and fun and a must have for anyone who wants to learn how to play the Chili Peppers on guitar
- This is the piano/vocal/guitar version of this book and it is great! I'm a piano player, so having something to look at with everything written out and the melody in the right hand is great! I'm such a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers!
- We ordered this book for a beginner guitar player because it is described as "guitar" edition and one of the reviews refers to the guitar tabs (tablature) in the book. In addition, when I "searched" through the pages of the book on the Amazon website it showed the tablature. It turns out that the edition of the book that is currently available for shipping is for piano/vocal - it does NOT have the guitar tablature. Amazon customer service seemed to understand the issue and put a comment on a replacement book explicitly asking for the tablature version. They also promised to correct the product description and searchable pages on the site. Guess what, the second book I received is still missing tabs and the site still shows the wrong book. I got a refund and bought the correct book at the local music store.
- They mean chopped down and so basic a monkey would have no trouble learning these tabs. The author went for such simplicity that the songs are barely recognizable. Do yourself a favor and buy the REAL tabs. Complete waste of money.

3 comments about Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik (Essexntial Groups & Artists).
- This is their most funky, and punkish album in my opinion. With (bassist) Flea pop slapping the groves, and (guitarist) John jamming the catchy tunes that stay in your head this CD is very well put together. I would highly recomend this book to any guitarist who wants to have some fun, and learns the famous chart topping hits, or to any fan of the Peppers.
- This is a great RHCP book. It has tabs and sheet music for their landmark album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The album itself has great songs but the guitar book is a step up because now you can sound like the great John Fruchante with a single book. Dont hesitate to purchace it. Buy the album too. It Rocks
- Book arrived exactly when the company said it would. The book was in perfect condition, highly recommend !!

5 comments about Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium: Deluxe Bass Edition: Book/2-CD Pack (Book & CD).
- This is truly a great buy for any fan of Flea and the RHCP!
The book is well done and help me improve my playing quickly. Lot of fun!
I don't have nothing bad to say about it!
A must have for any bassist who loves Stadium Arcadium as much as he should!
- This is a great book! I've been playing bass for 3 years now and this is a really fun way to spend my free time. The cds are also a great addition; they really help out a lot if Flea's bass licks throw you for a loop. It's also just fun to play along with the CD's because they threw John in also. Also, if you can't read music, don't worry. Personally I'm a fan of reading actual music for many reasons, but if you haven't crossed that bridge in your bass playing career every song has tabs. This book is the ultimate hook up for any Red Hot Chili Pepper addicted Flea-loving bass fanatics! It rocks!
- Every song is played straight through at normal speed and you can clearly hear every note. The tabs are great, but actualy reading the notation feels a lot easier to read. The only thing i would change is have single lick tracks or slowed down versions of songs along with the full length at speed tracks. this album isnt for beginners at all, but its not completly impossible.
- This is a great book! The included CD makes the package!
A perfect 5 stars!!!
- flea has really good licks in this book that could help you get better ideas on improve on stuff like funk/rock. i recomend this book to bass players that look to just jam out and have fun.

5 comments about Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium: Special Edition Guitar Book with 2 CDs (Guitar Recorded Versions).
- Don't think twice before you get this. I'll be able to listen to all the tracks with guitar / bass isolated. They even mention the effects on the tabs.
Gotta have it.
- First of all, I must say, I really enjoyed this album. I don't normally use the words "dude" or "money", but dude, the Jupiter disc is *money*. The Mars disc was good too, but I think every song on the aforementioned disc was a hit, thus making them the ones I wanted most to learn to play.
All recordings feature the guitar and bass with no drums or vocals. This makes picking up the guitar parts considerably easier. All effects used are mentioned in the tab, and the tabs themselves seem very accurate when reading them and listening to the disc.
I think Frusciante's style of playing is interesting, and a good study for any guitarist. It's refereshing to hear a guy who is talented and really makes good arrangements, but isn't shredding and wanking all over the place. He also doesn't just whack on the same power chords all day long like every other modern rock band.
Furthermore, the band as a whole definitely remains fresh and valuable in a world where, I'm sad to say, rock is starting to suck really bad. RHCP makes me want to pick up my guitar, jam out, and be a better musician.
Fallout Boy does not.
- I am a big fan of the RHCP's and enjoy trying to replicate their sound. I am by no means a good guitarist but still have a lot of fun going through the book and playing pieces of their songs. The tab appears to be very accurate but I am not sure that it is 100% (still, good enough for me). I found it very useful to look at some of the lessons on Youtube as an aide to the book.
- The bass and guitar tracks on the CDs really help to identify the individual notes, riffs and chords. Extremely worth it!
-
I'm a longtime RHCP fan and a guitar player (obviously since I bought the tab!). I have both the Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik tablature books and have learned almost all of the songs in both. That said, I was a little hesitant in ordering the Stadium Arcadium book for two concerns: 1) the album is so effects laden, it may be hard to reproduce at home; 2) usually, when audio is provided on a CD with a tab book, examples are truncated snippits or examples of songs taken out of context--not very helpful, IMHO. Let me cut to the chase: buy this book with the CDs! The CDs contain ALL 2 SA discs with FULL songs from beginning to end sans drums and vocals. You get to hear John Frusciante's guitar parts and Flea's bass interacting together for all of the songs. I'm hearing things being played that I've never noticed before on the original SA release. Actually, what the recordings have confirmed is a suspicion I've had that SA was mixed horribly for the final release... a little too smooth and compressed, finally killing the BSSM era peppers sound. However, listen to something like "Hump De Bump" on this book's audio and you will hear guitar and bass every bit as raw, inventive, and funky as anything from BSSM. Why did this get lost in the final release? The tabs are pretty spot on, too. I've noticed a few voicing inconsistencies with JF's live playing of the songs... but this is a minor quibble. This book is a must (for this price) for any RHCP fan that plays bass or guitar. The audio is also an awesome stand-alone look into the writing and musical process of a inventive band of musicians.
