- Guitarrista de Venezuela busca partitura de PAntera y Metallic
- This wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The song riffs don't always start at the beginning of the song most of the time and I think some of them are actually wrong. If you are a beginner, this could be good for you, but I wanted help learning the solo's, in this book, there are none. All in all, I wasn't pleased.

2 comments about Pantera: The Great Southern Trendkill (Authentic Guitar-Tab).
- PanterA is the best metal band from this side of Texas. This band knows how to bring pure metal music back to life. Dimebag, Vinnie, Rex and Phil are 101% pure speed and energy. Pantera is not to be compaired to any other band out their. I wish that their were alot more bands that played music because they loved what they do and not for the money and plubicity.
- This album is full of deep, meaningful lyrics that really make you think. They are about trend-breaking,dealing with and getting over a drug addiction, trials in everyday life and the band's perspective on life.I also suggest Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven.

- I love PanterA and I was looking for books on them and I found it here. I was thinking about playing the drums and I would love to be able to play like Vinnie Paul. He is the best double bass drummer that I have ever heard. CFH PanterA rules
- Pantera has touched my heart many times while trying to sleep and most importantly when i ripp off some Dimebag songs on my guitar. Crank up your distortion and it's on. Pantera is the greates band alive eventhough they don't like to say so.
- I wish you were here. I'd punch you in the face. You are a complete loser. Dimebag's passing is a tragedy. Pantera was a great heavy metal band. I'm a guitar player myself. I get what you're saying, but obviously you've never seen Pantera live or even seen them on a live video. Dimebag was the real deal. No offense to the bands you like, but you are an embarrassment to them. Stop playing guitar and take up a reasonable instrument for yourself like the skin flute. Perfect for you. Dirtbag!
- I don't know what Anti-Pantera Fag's problem is, but Pantera, in general, is great.
Anti-Pantera Fag, after reading your review for TGSTK, I was appauled that you had a BLACK PARTY!!!! I hope a terrorist group drops bombs on your neighborhood and takes you and all 2 of your Pantera hating gay lovers as victims!
- If your looking at this, youve got to like Pantera. That much is obvious.I cannot rate a tablature book like this on too much, as it is what it is-a book that transcribes songs-- no personal lessons, no technique building. So if you like a bunch of Pantera songs you should buy it.The accuracy is high.Theres just two points I have to make. For one, if you watch the live videos of Dime playing, hes not playing in the same position as the book implies.Im willing to say thats just because of tunings and personal prefernce of whoever tabbed this book out. No big deal. The only gripe I have is that when the song is using multiple effects and whammy techniques, the book doesnt have enough info for you to really nail that particular section. However, its not enough to ruin the enjoyment that can be had.

- A very well explained book, includes transcription of guitar, plus drums, bass vocal and some other sounds that may appear. Includes comments on every song about the rhytms, weird sounds, vocals, all!
Serious music to listen and play, this book gets all the power in Pantera which sound is best explained by a description they share with no other band: Power Groove (heavy, riff-oriented feel). You won't regret getting this!
- i've been playing guitar for about ten years and have owned many tab books in that time of which this is certainly the worst.
to start with the tab is actually different to previous published copies which i own, and in places just appears to be wrong. some of the solos for example have been tabed to run over several strings when it is just played on one, making the actual music more difficult to play and disjointed, this difference in positioning appears frequently throughout the book. it is also written in a non standard format with different notations and fonts unlike anything i have experienced before and this makes it confusing in places and occasionally difficult to distinguish which strings the notes are supposed to be played on. the bass and drum tabs are also mixed in which doesn't make it any clearer, but at least you get more value for money which i can say is the only redeaming feature. the forewords at the start of each song are usually increadably obvious (the use of palm muting and distortion, like you dont know that already if your in to pantera!) and in places uninformative. the songs are in alphabetical order not as they are arranged on the respective albums so you have to look up the page number to find the song you want. the book leaves out some of the best and most difficult songs on both albums (regular people, medicine man, rise, etc)and retains simplistic songs like ... hostile. pantera are one of my favourite bands and this book is far inferior to previous publications, its more like its been written by a 15 year old for his school project than someone who actually knows what they're doing. at its price its only worth it if you are really desperate and cant get hold of the proper tab anywhere else. i found the standard of this tab to be poor and unacceptable and i sent it back for a refund, which i have not regretted. a waste of money and an injustice to the music.
- I agree with the guy from the UK when he says this was the worst he ever owned. I'm sorry, but the numerical displacement on even the simplest chords was hard enough to decipher. Instead of trying to read the tab, i almost always had to rewrite the tab using a word processor before the tablature became clear enough for me to read. I really can't say that it is wrong, because when i did rewrite/decipher/copy some tab, it was correct. The solo for "This Love", on the other hand, was hardly worth printing. As the author explains, "unlike other songs, intricate fast licks are not presented here. However, play it with emotion while making good use of the wah-wah pedal." This quote, straight from the book, shows that apparently, "good use of the wah-wah" can make up for a lot that was simply not shown. You want to at least not waste time figuring out stuff like that when you spend 25 bucks on a official tab book. (I know it's much cheaper here, but it's what i payed). And, on a good note, this book has some of the most awesome pictures of PanterA in it i've ever seen. the pictures are pretty cool. And finally, this book got the three stars because of it's transcription of "Mouth For War", possibly worth the price of the book itself. A necessity for PanterA fans out there and those like them.
- If your a collector than this tab book is good for you. If you wanna learn how to play some Dime tunes than DON'T GET THIS BOOK! It has the wrong tabs for "Walk". Common now. I'm really dissapointed. The band Pictures are cool though. What I'm saying is... I should have read the reviews!

5 comments about A Vulgar Display Of Power: Courage and Carnage At The Alrosa Villa.
- Overall this was a very well researched project of a very disturbing tragedy. Getting to know the background of all involved put a name to the others besides Dime. I would have liked to see the same background info on Dime as many people do not know what a virtuoso he was, and how he attained his status. Some of the minutia got tedious at times, but it was a very interesting read.
- The book jumps back and forth between Dime and the other people killed that night, so it is a little hard to follow. I enjoyed it, but was disappointed by the lack of biographical info on Dimebag.
- The book has a dual thesis; one being the victim's lives and the second the nightclub rampage and police shooting. What I did not realize while reading the book is that the author did a splendid job of weaving Thompson's, Bray's, Halk's and Abbott's seemingly unintersecting lives into the tragic end. I felt this book was in-depth and gripping.
There is no shortage of research done by the author. He has credited numerous people for contributions of photos, interviews and documents. Given the subject matter, it may have been easy to invoke a morbid fascination from the reader for the sake of selling books but, he tastefully used hundreds of crime scene photos. He obviously established a repor with CPD Officer J. Neggemeyer as well as other investigators. He did a fine job of delving into the lives of the victims and articulated what good people they really were, which made the occurrence that much more disturbing and tragic.
I thought the book was accurate for the most part, save for a few mistakes in municipalities. The only reason I didn't give the book 5 stars was I felt that referring to Nathan Gale as "the beast" was childish. Although he slowly changed into a beast given his mental illness, changing the moniker does not change the fact that Gale was single-handedly responsible for immeasurable pain and damage.
- I HAVE NOT READ A BOOK IN A LONG TIME THAT I LITERALLY COULD NOT PUT DOWN. I HAVE NOT READ A BOOK IN A LONG TIME THAT MADE ME CRY THAT HARD. YOU FEEL LIKE YOU KNOW EVERYONE THAT DIED THAT NIGHT....(GOD BLESS THEIR FAMILIES) AS WELL AS DIMEBAG. MY 15 YEAR OLD IS AN AVID GUITAR PLAYER AND THIS IS HIS HERO. I HAD TO READ IT BECAUSE THAT IS ALL WE EVER HEARD/AND STILL HEAR ABOUT IS DIMEBAG. WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY. I AM SO SADDENED THAT I CAN NEVER SEND MY SON TO ONE OF HIS CONCERTS. I BELIEVE HIS SPIRIT LIVES ON IN MY SON THOUGH BECAUSE HE PLAYS LIKE DIME VERY MUCH. HE OWNS 6 ELECTICS AND OF COURSE HAD TO GET A DEAN!!!!! THE ONE WE GOT HIM FOR XMAS WAS DIMEBAGS TRIBUTE GUITAR. AN AWESOME BOOK IS ALL I CAN SAY AND YOU JUST HAVE TO READ IT!!!!
