  1. Let me start by saying that I speak for many people that it's been a long time coming for this book and I was one of many who pre-ordered it. Though I have only been playing guitar for a couple of months now Jane's Addiction is still inspirational to the new generation of kids who is stuck being fed ridiculous Nu-Metal and Pop-Punk. Dave Navarro is truly an amazing musician, and though he is receiving more attention nowadays because of his looks and his relationship with Carmen Electra, his talent is still unparallel.

However, I can also speak for a lot of people by saying I was really disappointed with the way the book turned out. First off, the song selection is rather skimpy for the BEST of Jane's Addiction. How can they not consider putting at least a total of 20 Jane's addictions tracks since they do have a wide range of songs. They basically only tabbed out their hits or in other cases their best-known songs. Where the hell is THREE DAYS, TED JUST ADMITT IT, SLOW DIVERS, or THEN SHE DID?!?!?! These selections are the main reason why I decided to play guitar and more importantly the reason I bought this book. Is it that the best tabbers in the business were afraid to tackle these songs or were they not given a choice? Whatever the reason is it leads nothing but frustrations for Jane's Addiction fans. The second reasons why I disliked this book was because it focused on 4 songs from Strays, which wasn't a very memorable album. I could have easily traded those songs for the songs I listed above or at least cut it down to two songs from that album instead of four.

So in review of this tab book I have to say that it did disappoint me since I had high expectations for it to have its epic songs. Yet I do have to acknowledge that the Best of Jane's Addictions is better than no Jane's Addiction and I am thankful they put out a tab book. In addition, I would take this book in a second over a Strays tab book, which I am sure, was the originally intended to be released. But again now that there is a rumor that Jane's Addiction are breaking up yet AGAIN, it looks doubtful that I will ever see a tab book of NOTHING SHOCKING or RITUAL by itself.....ever.

  2. It has too few of the songs we want to play. Where is "3 Days"?
I was bummed by this collection.
