- I love this book! I wish more songbooks were formatted like this! Easy to read, compact, entire songs on one page for the most part so no page flipping.

4 comments about Coldplay - X and Y.
- This has piano, ridiculously in-depth guitar tabs, and vocal notes. Awesome quality. However, when just using a piano the songs start to lack musical quality, even thought they are completely accurate.
- Not sure if the previous reviewer was viewing the exact book listed here. There are no guitar tabs (other than the basic chord structure above each bar). This version is only for the guitar beginner. Not for advanced players looking to play it like the record.
- Am I crazy or is the book I received today completely missing the electric guitar's TAB for "Swallow the Sea?" It's clearly on the album, but the only TAB I see for it in this book is for the acoustic guitar that plays throughout. That second part is nowhere to be found! I have contacted Hal Leonard about this, but not heard back.
What is going on here?!
Aside from this obvious blunder, this is a great purchase...but it's incomplete!
- A lot easier than going and finding it in the store and in the same great condition. I was very pleased and completely satisfied with my order. Amazon ftw!

2 comments about Play Piano with Coldplay.
- This is my first book purchased from the "Play Piano with..." series. Not being a huge fan of Coldplay I really enjoyed this book. The book features 6 songs and comes with a CD that includes 12 songs. 6 of the songs are Coldplay performing with the piano music; the other 6 are the same songs without the piano music - you're the accompaniment!
A couple of complaints:
1 - The CD and layout of the book are great! But the set of 6 songs you get to play the accompaniment with do NOT include Coldplay's vocals, except toward the very end of the song. Kind of misleading. The book should be titled, "Play piano with Coldplay's band" - though I'm not certain it's the actual band.
2 - I wish there was a way to slow the tempo down for practice, but since it's on CD there's no way of doing that. (UPDATE: Windows' Media Player has a "SPEED" feature and you CAN slow it down, wow!!)
Overall a great fun book to play along to. I really felt like I was part of a band!
- I'll say this right up front to you. If you are not a very good piano player then this book is not for you. If you can play good, have some training or can play by ear (like myself) -- AND you are a Coldplay fan... you will fall in love with this book.
I've been a Coldplay fan since I first heard Clock almost 6 years ago and have never stopped listening to them. I couldn't believe this when I saw this and I'm honestly so pleased it already reached my expectations.
The backing tracks are dead on. If you can play the Coldplay songs already then you will not have to go through the book and can just jump right into playing with the CD.
I honestly felt like I was playing with Coldplay which is a dream come true. If just for that, this book was worth my 13 dollars. I would pay 13 dollars to just play clocks, but no, they give you six of Coldplay's best songs from ROBTTH, which is Coldplay's best album.
Seriously, if you are good at piano or can learn, then I recommend this 100% to you.
I also want to say that I like not having vocals because I like to sing with the backing track anyway. :)
Negatives:
For someone who has listed to these songs 100 times over, I can say that some of the piano parts that they play aren't 100% correct but it doesn't matter because when you play, you can do whatever you want.
It may too advanced to moderate to beginner piano players.

2 comments about Coldplay - Parachutes (Pvg).
- I enjoy this one. I do like the sheet music of Rush of Blood better, but I adore "Trouble"
- I look forward to going home every night (and probably much to my neighbors' and roommate's dismay) to try to play and sing at the same time. The music is for the piano to accompany the rest of the band, so it doesn't always carry the melody. But it's awesome and not too bad. The abundance of sharps and flats may scare some, such as me, but in the end the chords are not too difficult; there is a lot of repetition. This is my favorite album of Coldplay, so I am particularly fond of many of the songs. I hope this helps!

- Grab it while it is available. These punk rock music books suddenly go out of print.
The level is a high end of intermediate.
- I have been playing the violin for 9 years and teaching myself the piano on the side, so this book was a little hard for me. I loved the fact that these are the actual parts to the songs, not some simplified score that doesn't sound anything like the original. "The Scientist" was the first song I learned and by far the easiest. I recommend this book to any musically inclined Coldplay fan because you'll end up loving their music more.
- This is a great set of tabs.. I never could have figured out the tunings or alot of the effects without many more years of experimenting.
- It feels great to order something and get exactly what you intended and had in mind, all at the same time it being in wonderful condition. It was a smart order.

5 comments about The Best of Coldplay for Easy Piano: Updated Edition.
- This isn't for a beginner or an advanced beginner. By "easy" is meant that it is comparable to The Library of Easy Piano Classics ISBN 0-82556-1284-5.
If you're not quite ready for this level I'd still order it and the more advanced Coldplay, A Rush of Blood to the Head, because these punk rock music books are here today and gone tomorrow. This is probably not going to be available by the time you're ready.
- It's a great book for intermediate players. I wouldn't exactly call it "easy piano." While the notes are easy to read and not complicated, the key signatures are what make the songs difficult. Brush up on those before trying out this book!!
- 12 Coldplay songs from the albums "Parachutes" and "A Rush of Blood to the Head".
I've only had a couple of years of piano lessons (and that was years ago) and I bought this book to help me get back into playing. The arrangements are easy (but no, not beginner), and don't take much practise before you're sounding pretty good! Includes the guitar chords.
The songs are:
(1) Amsterdam (2) Clocks (3) Don't Panic (4) Everything's Not Lost (5) Green Eyes (6) In My Place (7) Rush of Blood (8) The Scientist (9) Sparks (10) Trouble (11) A Warning Sign (12) Yellow
The book itself is a slim softcover book with a shiny cover. It is bound by three staples, and the pages fall flat once pressed down - so its fine on a music/piano stand.
Note - This describes the the 2003 edition which I was sent initially (in error). So check that you were sent the right edition! The 2004 edition is bound, so doesn't lie flat as well as the 1st Ed but it includes a 13th song: "Fix You" from "X&Y"
- The music was easy piano by my standards, a quick learn and authentic enough to the true sound of Coldplay as well.
- I'm surprised that none of the other reviews mentioned the fact that these "arrangements" are very different from the originals. The melody (vocals) is in the right-hand treble clef and simple base notes in the left. These are not really the chords that are played by the band, and it is virtually impossible to sing along with what is written, unless you like singing exactly the same thing your right hand is playing. And there's not enough of a chord in the left hand to fill it out if you just drop the right and sing it. I'm fairly disappointed in this. Maybe if all you're looking for is a similar sounding arrangement and don't plan to sing, then this may be the book for you.
