- The writer (Simon Moore) obviously watch the Urethra Chronicles first, that is a movie that Blink 182 made about their lives. When he (the writer) talks about Travis Barker (the drummer) and his drum set, it is word for word copied from the tape. But all in all it was interesting. When I went looking for a book I hoped for an autobiography, NO, I guess that Blink thought that the home video is enough. It had some interesting information about the band, right or wrong, I think he might have got some information from unreliable sources or people's opinions and thoughts. I would suggest that you buy it if you have the extra 10 dollars and are a real Blink 182 fan, but it would be better if they (the band) had wrote it themselves. If Mark Hoppis (guitar), Tom Delong (bass), and Travis Barker (drums) were to write an autobiography I would probably pay three times as much, as long as it was authentic and in their words. So, if you are a Blink 182 fan and want to know more about the band then I suggest you buy The Urethra Chronicles. If you don't want to get The Urethra Chronicles then this book would be an idea, Mark, Tom, and Travis could have wrote it better though. If I had to rate it then I would give it a four out of ten because the writer just didn't capture my attention even though Blink 182 are my favorite band.
P.S. I copied an other review and added to it for this one
- It seems you have to be a really good blink 182 fan to appreciate this book. I luved it! It gives you great info on the band w/ lots of great pics. It has a lot of magazine quotes but so what! That just makes it easier so you don't have to go find them urself. Give the guy a break. He had a lot of time and effort so he made a book on one of the most popular bands out there. He's probably making sum money off of it too. Who cares if he got some stuff out of the video. That just gives people an idea of what to expect. If u need info on Blink 182, or are just a really big fan, i suggest u get this book. The video is just for laughs and ur enjoyment. The book gives u a great idea of the potty mouth punk phenomenons these guys really are!
- This is the best Blink 182 book ever! It is all made up of color pages and there are pictures of the guys on every other side. There is also 100% true info on how they started as a group and even some info on Scott, the former drummer. There are early pictures of Travis (before he got all the tattoos) and Mark and Tom as well (when Tom had eyebrow and nose piercings). Most pictures include Travis. There is only one of the group with Scott. There are also early pictures of Mark (when he had really short hair and when he dyed it pink). Anyway, this book is definitely worth it. There are 48 pages, half written and half picture. On the last page though, there is a good discography of the group. If you are a Blink fan (I mean really a fan, like own all of their cds or at least intend to), buy this book.
- The book is awesome! Everyone should have this book. Oh yeah, Tom Delonge is the guitarist, Mark Hoppus is the bassist and Travis is the drums. Somebody wrote that Tom was the bassist and Mark was the guitarist. Other than that, the book rules!!
- Okay now that Austin Gibbons guy who wrote a revew was wrong! he said that Tom was the bass guy, mark was the guitarest!!! come on! if he was a real fan he would know it was the other way a-round. But it's okay, i guess he tryed his best. Now to the book. The book wasn't that great, i meen some of it was taken from BLINK 182's video they made. If you were me i'de only get this book if you wanted to get all the BLINK 182 stuff there is. Well this is Tom saying so long and good bye...

- They're easy and fun to play tabs! I swear every guitar player should have this book! It's awesome! The difficulty level is easy, but the speed, well Blink's too fast! But, who cares, if it's easy and fun to play, get it!
Includes: Dumpweed: some twists at the beginning, good guitar song Don't Leave Me: really fun to play, rock song Aliens Exist: alot of bass in this, but good song going Away To College: The best song on guitar, pretty much. love the beginning What's My AGe AGain?: This song is hard to play. Especially the beginning, I've been playing it over a year, and still can't get it right! But the rest is easy! Dysentary Gary: alot of sliding, good song Adam's Song: every string's tuned down here, follow the book, and you'll like it! All The Small Things: easiest song in the book The Party Song: Not the greatest song for tabbing, but it'll do Mutt: awesome song, with twists and turns Wendy Clear: nice song, not too difficult but really fast Anthem: good up beat song! Get this book!

- This book has amazing tabs! Blink just gets better and faster with their songs. Their slowest, Stay Together For The kids is 72 on the metronome, but is all sixteenth notes, so it's like 150, just the same! This book includes:
Anthem Part Two: Great tabbing, sounds exactly like the song, alot of palm muting, in the verses, and at the beginning. Online Songs: This is a great song for tabbing, it's a little harder than their last one, but it shows that their getting better, and it's really fun to play! First Date: An easy song, and a nice beat to go with! Happy Holidays: Whoever thought you could tab a song as funny as this, and make it sound so serious! It's great, and very easy, probably the easiest song in the book, the shortest too! Story Of A Lonely Guy: The best one in the book, really fun to play! Especially the beginning, then the bass kicks in for the verses. The chorus is awesome for guitar, simple, yet great!! The Rock Show: Beginning takes practice, it's much harder than their last few attempts, alot of palm muting, even in the chorus, so watch were to start. The beginning is played very fast, so make sure you practice that part alot, cause it's in alot of the song. Stay Together For The Kids: Wow! The chorus is so easy, but the start is fairly difficult. The beginning has to ring, and I mean has too, or it doesn't sound good! Roller Coaster: The fastest song to date, and is faily tricky, but easy! Upbeat, punk and nice all at the same time! Reckless Abandon: The fastest song in the book! If you ever play at that speed, if you can get that fast(248 on the metronome), good for you, cause I can't! This song is fairly easy to play, but too fast!! Everytime I Look For You: It's easy, fast and upbeat, but makes a great song! Not too much palm muting in this one, good song! Give Me One Good Reason: Wow, this is tricky! Needs a capo, and tuning is different! This one's probably the hardest in the book! Although, it's a great song, punk!! Shut Up: The tabbing is great here, this one is one of the besT! It sounds so great on electric guitar, I love it! Twists and turns, it makes for a great song! Please Take Me Home: enough palm muting in this one. it's a nice song, upbeat and catchy. fun to play along with! Not too fast, which is in most cases, good! This book was great and every guitar player should have it! It's not as easy as Enema Of The State, but it is deffinetely as good! Buy this!!
- This is a great book. the songs are really easy to play but really cool sounding. i've only had it for two days and i can already play four songs. buy it!!!

- This is the only book you will need in order to learn Blink 182's greatest hits on bass guitar. It is packed with their best songs from Dude ranch, Enema Of the State, the mark, tom and travis Show and take off you pants and jacket. It has the tab version and the music note version so you will find these songs relativly easy to learn. Just sit back put and blink album on and rock out to these tunes on bass.

2 comments about Best of blink-182: A Step-by-Step Breakdown of Tom De Longe's Guitar Styles and Techniques.
- This book is the tablature for most of Blink 182's singles throughout the years. I will tell you that this book is very very fun to play, even if you don't like Blink 182's music. It is quite simple, and it has that catchy sound to it. When I got this book I was quite amateur on guitar (pretty much still am), but it didn't take long to master all of these songs. Basically, all the songs contained in the book are jam-packed with easy-to-play power chords and any intros involving picking are for the most part simple.
I also enjoy the fact that as you go through a song, there will be a paragraph labeled "Performance Tip" and it will give you a hint on the fingering for a certain part of a song which is so helpful and makes things so easy. This book really advanced my skill on guitar by that one feature alone because when I try to play a lot of other songs I will remember the fingering on a Blink song and it helps with it. It's a good thing.
Another great thing about this book is that it comes with a CD featuring a breakdown of each song in the book. Most of the tracks played on the CD have a faster version and they slow it down so you can catch everything that goes on. This is also a very helpful feature. It is nice to be able to hear it slowed down because on the tabs some things look kind of confusing or don't sound right the way you try to play it and then you just pop in the CD and away you go, and if that still doesn't help, you can slow it down and take it all in.
One other neato thing about this book is that it has some background info on the songs. I learned some interesting stuff about the band and the writing of a few of the songs. It is always fun to learn trivial things.
So, in all, if you are beginning at the guitar and would like to learn some simple "punk", get this book. If you'd like to learn some classic Blink 182 songs, perfect. If you'd like to impress your friends with all those songs they used to sing along with on the radio, there you go.
Most of all, if you want to have some good old fun, get this book, I hope you aren't disappointed.
- its odd because the writing itself in the book is very good. The Introduction is surprisingly entertaining to read. But after that the book falls short
Pros:
Good Writing
Cons:
Where is the bridge to "Dammit"?
What is up with the interlude for "Stay Together for the kids"?
Where is the second half of the main riff for "adams song"
Where is the second guitar part on the end of "dammit"
Its called a "tabliture" book for a reason. dont write how the music is played in scentences and paragraphs.
Its funny because, whats there is good.
Theres just not enough there

2 comments about blink-182: Drum Play-Along Series Vol. 10 (Drum Play-Along).
- And they improve again, with a more, heart-felt album. With tones of hits off this cd already, well, make that four, and much earned success. They put together a tablature book for us to play along. Most of it, is fairly simple. But they improved over the years, and this is their best work to date. Ok, here we go:
Feeling This- Droped D tuning and a Capo on the second fret. The song is in E major or can be transposed to D major as well. It's cool though.
Obvious- Droped 1 and 1/2 steps, into C# tuning. The song is simple, but really cool! It has the old punk style to it that Blink used to have.
I Miss You- Same as the last song, drop C# tuning, the song is mostly just sliding your fingers up and down the frets. Still cool. With some very high notes as well.
Violence- Again, drop C# tuning, but almost all these songs can be played without droping it down, except Obvious. The song only has three parts to it, the intro where he vibrates A, and then the chorus part, and the bridge(which is has a unique solo to it).
Stockholm Syndrome- They even tabbed the piano part at the beginning, but I wouldn't try it on guitar. And the first song in the book that isn't dropped. And is one of the best songs on the album, I must say. The verse part is cool.
Down- Drop C# tuning again, but can be played in E major as well. You'd probably find it easier in E major, but if you want a challenge, then C# is good as well. It's not terribly difficult to learn.
The Fallen Interlude- They tabbed it, lots of high notes, so you have to know your picking quite well. It's more a drum song though.
Go- Back to Blink basics, easy and fun!
Asthenia- Starts out with the unique intro, and then jumps into the song, which starts out with finger picking, and then chords. It's fairly simple, but unique just the same. Drop D tuning.
Always- It's a cool song! Alot of picking and it sounds very cool when you play it with the song!
Easy Target- Fast paced and very rockish!
All of This- The song is different, and fairly simple.
Here's Your Letter- Like Shut Up in ways, because it's Mark's final song of the album, punk/rock, with less swearing. Overall, it's a nice song to play.
I'm Lost Without You- Beautiful, but so easy. I love this song, but it's very repetitive.
Overall, a good buy. I definitely recommend it if you want to know the songs the RIGHT way!
- This book tell you exactly the notes for each of the songs on the self titled album "Blink-182". The book tell you how to tune each string, (each song has a capo on fret 2), play with tabs or with actual note reading, correct lyrics, and the notes for the vocals. This was a great buy and I plan on buying other tablature books with the same type of logo as sen on the top left.

- This is one of the only books I own. It's also one of the few books I've read all the way through.
- Tales From Beneath Your Mom is an AWESOME book! It takes you through the history of Blink 182 step by step. By the end you feel like you grew up with Mark, Tom, and Travis. It's also hilarious! Full of Tom's famous jokes and pranks. Fun facts and stories! The pictures are another treat. Lots of old pictures of Blink 182 that not many have seen and pictures of Blink 182 backstage passes (all very fun and juvenile!). I absolutely love this biography! I love Blink 192 to death and any Blink 182 fan should own this book. It's very, very cool. It's the BOMB! It makes you wonder "what went wrong?" and how could their band and friendship fall apart. Anyways, get this book! It'll complete your life!
- This is the coolest book ever! I love Blink and this book is perfect- it tells about all kinds of stupid things they did and said; it basically tells their whole history. It's definatly a book that all big Blink fans should have!
- Im 15 but my 23 yr old bro owns this book, tht he got awhile ago. and its great. I read it an i love the pictures, stories, and biographies about these boys. They are wonderful guys and this book is great! buy it!!
