- I love Smartwool socks. A friend who knew I had perpetually cold feet gave me a pair for Christmas and changed my mind about socks as a gift forever.
What's so great about them? They're warm in the winter and still comfortable up til the 80's--and even then, if you're going into an air conditioned building like a theatre, you may want to wear socks with your sandals.
"Saturn" socks have a full cushioned foot, which is the Smartwool variation I prefer. The cushion literally feels like you're walking around in your houseshoes even at the mall!
And like I said in the title, I love Saturn's colors. What I don't like is the height of the sock. I much prefer closer to a mid-calf height. Try as I might, my Saturns tend to roll a bit, which detracts somewhat from the comfort.
- I own four pair of Smartwool socks and am now addicted to them. I teach school and wear Dansko clogs...the best combination of footwear comfort imaginable!
These socks come in several heights...you will need to find what is best for your needs. I have the boot socks (aka knee socks) and they come up higher than the others. The crew socks are perfect with jeans and clogs and I love the colors!!! The color combinations from Smartwool are amazing. Their design team deserves kudos.
The Saturn sock is my favorite of them all. It is cushioned on the bottom more than my others and the colors are WOW! In fact, I bought two pair, I loved them so much.
OH...I always get holes in the toes of my socks from the friction of my clogs against the top of my toenail...BUT NOT with Smartwool!
Are they traded on the NYSE? I want to buy stock if so. If you don't think socks are worth $15 per pair, you might want to challenge yourself. I have worn Eddie Bauer socks for years and they are NICE, but they don't hold a candle to Smartwool.
- I got these for my wife. She loves them. They are soft and comfortable and have good cushioning in the sole. I get some every Christmas for her.
- They are so soft, yet thin and warm. I'd love a sock drawer full of these!
- They came so quickly from the vendor. Already a favorite when I wear my Chaco's. I am impressed with the cushion in the sock. Makes for a comfortable fit.

- These really, really, really don't smell--no matter what your workout. Read a review: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/fitness/workout-gear-may07 The goodhousekeeping folks bagged up their sweaty socks for a MONTH and did a smell test. These didn't smell. It's crazy how mine don't smell, even after an hour on the treadmill and sit for the rest of the day in my gym bag.
