1. I am a skier who is always cold, especially my feet. I have used the Hotronic Footwarmers for the last three years and they are worth the investment.
   
   A thin heat element is installed under the foot and a electrical cord is threaded through the boot. Battery packs (which must be charged in advance) attach to the cords. There are 4 settings on the battery pack. I find that I am comfortable on setting 2 or 3 and rarely set the product to 4. My feet don't get very hot - to me it knocks the chill off my feet. Other may have a different experience - the newest version resets the battery setting from 4 to 3 after 15 minutes because it can be too hot for people.
   
   I have had the store install them, so I cannot speak to how they are to install.
   
   NOTE: Also purchase the Hotronic Slide Strap Bracket or similar product to keep the battery pack from falling off. I have already lost a battery pack in the snow! My rating would be 5 stars if they started adding this accessory to the basic product.
