- The W is close to a 4E. Nearly all leather. I work in a hospital and need a comfortable shoe that doesn't have any webbing to soak up body fluids if dripped on. This shoe is nearly all leather or synthetic and wipes off well. There IS a small portion on the tongue that is netting but I place a piece of tegaderm over that and alls well. Pretty comfortable. But the Avia 104 is much more comfortable which I bought recently. Now these are my backup work shoes. The 104 shoes have much better flexibility and more room in the toe (true 4E).

- Regarding the AVIA Athletic Shoe line: I own several of these including this TRAINER/Walker type of shoe as well as a couple of AVIA Walking shoes. Because I do several types of athletics, I find these pair are the ones I use the most. I used to be a NIKE AIR type of shoe person. However, these AVIA shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. And they are comfortable right out of the box! No breaking in period. The best features of this pair of walking shoes are:
1) Wide toe box. Feet can spread out as they need to when walking, even after two miles or more, my feet are comfortable.
2) Heel support: When walking a proper ratio is the heel to toe movement. These shoes give such wonderful heel support, when I place my heel on the ground and then my toe, it is sheer comfort! The patented Avia Cantilever heel system was invented by Avia several years ago and others have tried to copy this but AVIA still has the best heel comfort in my opinion.
3) Forefoot flex system gives just enough flexiblity and stability for walking giving just the right support and comfort to the foot.
4) Avia's to me are wider than most atlethic shoes, giving more room as the foot stretches during a walk or in the afternoon after walking.
In my opinion, AVIA stands on the top of the shoe list for comfort, style and price.
In my opinion" "There is nothing like an AVIA pair of shoes, the other brands are not near as comfortable right out of the box!"
- Never got the item because it was out of stock. I'm sure it's a great shoe -- I love Avia -- but I can't tell you first-hand about this one -- but I can't get these Amazon "rate this item" emails to stop until I fill out this stupid form. There.
- Nice looking shoe, good support, mostly comfortable but not as "breathable" as decribed. Overall a good shoe for the price.

- The only beef I have with the shoe is the toe box is a bit too narrow, as it is in most women's sports shoes. The cantilevered, very cushy insole is comfortable. It's very wearable, easy to lace, and nice looking. I think it was a good buy.

- I have worn AVIA's for years (at least 20 or 25) and they are great. The thing I like is that I can put them on and they are comfortable and ready to go right then. I feel perfectly comfortable ordering them on the Internet because I know my size and that I will be satisfied. After getting this last pair I wanted to go right back on and order another pair. The shoe is right and the price was right too.

- After many years of searchng I have finally found the softest and most comfortable shoe to date. This version of the cantilever heel on this shoe has finally got it right. The heel splays out when the weight is applied. It feels like a pillow. I have a nerve problem with my feet due to diabetes and my feet are quite sensitive and tire easily. These shoes work!!! Soft, spongy, my feet are still energized in the morning (I work nights in a hospital)when the next shift arrives. Nearly all leather except for the tongue. Wide box toe (comes in 4E width). Sizing runs true to size. A few dollars more at Z....s.com with free shipping so you'll have to compare the differences in price (depends on the size) with Amazon to see which one is cheaper. A great shoe. I ordered a second pair and stored it in the closet for later,..don't be shy to order it.

- I have owned a pair of these water aerobic shoes for almost 3 years, they are just now showing signs of wear, they are great for narrow feet and are light and comfortable in the pool.
I highly recommend them !
- While many of my water aerobics classmates buy cheap shoes to "save a buck", I have found these avia shoes to be terrific. My last pair lasted almost 7 years! I rinse them out after each use and let them air dry. The fit is excellent and they provide the needed traction for water aerobics or any pool activity. The price is well worth it and economical in the long run.
- I was very pleased with my water aerobics shoes.the shoes kept my footing steady in the water.
- I ordered this product because I had another pair for six years that I used for water aerobics and the river for 6 years. I feel that is remarkable for something exposed to chlorine several times a week.
- I teach hydro aerobics twice a week and I've been wearing this shoe for about a year and a half now. I probably needed to replace them about six months ago. The pool water started to degrade the shoe after about six months but did not affect preformance, now the foam upper is falling apart and my toe is threatening to pop out! The synthetic leather and the sole are holding up like new. But I'm worried now that the upper is degrading it may effect my stability in the water.
Over all I think it is a great shoe, I don't expect my "terra" athletic shoes to last a year and a half. Instead of the ground wearing the soles, the water "wore" the foam upper.
I'm planning on buying another pair, especially since wearing these I can't imagine going back to bare feet or wearing a flimsy less stablizing shoe.
