5 comments about The Attractor Factor: 5 Easy Steps for Creating Wealth (or Anything Else) from the Inside Out.
- I have read many books about the Law of Attraction, and thought I was doing everything exactly as suggested to manifest my life at the summit. Yet, the results were not what I was visualizing. The attractorfactor helped me get clear on what I was and wasn't doing. What I love about this book is Joe shares real feelings and real struggles that I could relate to, and it helped me find feelings I have been surpressing. Once found, they have been easy to release. Getting me closer and closer to inner peace, freedom and abundance. Thank you Joe, for putting it all out there. This is a book I will read again...and soon. Note to Joe: You don't need all of the testimonials at the beginning, We bought the book, let us start reading it sooner.
- This is yet another well written book by Dr. Joe Vitale. The book provides the reader with great insights in which to explore and think over. Great reading for anyone wanting more out of their lives!
- I learned so much, thanks Joe!!! Keep 'em coming!!! the Attractor Factor in fact did teach me to create wealth and success! So easy - you just have to read the book and then implement it.
- This book takes you where most of us have never been. If your read this book keep an open mind and absorb what you read, grasp what is being taught, and you will come away with a new outlook on not only your own life but life as a part of a larger entity. Don Scott
- I couldn't even get through 1 CD his voice was sooooooo boring.... Very disappointed. I call this one FALSE ADVERTISING. It wasn't worth one dime of what I paid for it.

5 comments about Believing In Myself: Self Esteem Daily Meditations.
- THIS LITTLE BOOK HAS BEEN A SOURCE OF ENCOURAGEMENT AT EVERY TURN, ONE OF MY MOST CHERISHED DEVOTIONALS.
- a little voice of reason when your feeling blue or need encouragement. I have recommended this book many times over and have given it as a gift many times.
- This book has a date on each page for each day. Each day contains a thought or message that is thought provoking and introspective. Reading this book does give you a sense of calming and reassurance. The small size is great so you can take it with you on the go. I would recommend this book to everyone.
- I have been reading this book for about a month. Out of those 30 days, maybe 2 readings have had any significance for me.
- This book has many great messages, but it is not written simply. There are lots of big words and confusing messages. In looking for a better life and self-esteem, I want things simply put, right to the point. Sometimes I am confused after the readings.

5 comments about Shut Up, Stop Whining, and Get a Life: A Kick-Butt Approach to a Better Life.
- I found the book to be just ok, and the reason I give it 3 stars is because I was expecting more from him than the typical stuff I've read else where. He had a lot of common sense stuff (Common sense is an oxymoron nowadays) that he ranted about, but he also had some very focused stuff that I felt would be very beneficial to people. I guess what I'm trying to say is give the book a chance you may enjoy it, but don't expect him to give you earth shattering advice...
- Larry wastes the millions he gets from his books on tons of cowboy boots he doesn't need. Nice way to set an example. He sells useless things like bobblehead dolls of himself on his website. Ask yourself: would a guy who really cared about helping you out of finacial trouble sell you things you don't need? If he's so rich he can wsate tons on silly cowboy boots, he's the one laughing his way to the bank....with your hard earned money!
I thought this was supposed to be a self help book. Instead it's a stand-up comedy piece with lots of in your face ranting and raving about experiences this guy had. He's no expert, just an overconfident entertainer that wears funny clothes. If that's why you buy his books, fine. Don't expect to get actual answers and helpful advice.
- I really like this book. After reaching the age of 54 & having read & listned to my share of"Self-Help" stuff this is refreshingly different.Larry doesn't try to fill your head with sunshine & you can do anything or metaphysical nonsense so popular lately. He's like the Uncle who wasn't afraid to tell you how things are. It's an easy read, but requires you to think & fill out forms to distill your values.I have a problem with some over simplified things though, like"You should forget hope & doubt & instead have faith & certainty & then step out boldly". Not an easy thing to do however in these trying times.
- The first part of the book was good and kept you interested, but the second half was a sleeper. I have read all of Mr. Winget's books and this one doesn't meet their standards.
- I enjoyed this book. You must be really objective to appreciate this. If you are willing to make the suggesred efforts to change your life, it will truly pay off. I feel that this approach to life is better than whining, complaining and blaming others for what is wrong with your life. I'm sure we all know at least one person like this.
I also enjoyed Larry Winget's other two books "You are Broke Because You Want to Be" and "It's Called Work For A Reason"
I would recommend this book for those who really want to change their lives, but it is not for everyone.

5 comments about What now?.
- I was interested in reading this edited and longer version of a graduation speech by Ann Patchett because of her perceptive writing style in the novel Bel Canto. Her newest book reveals personal experiences that shaped her both as a writer and person. "What now?" is a useful book for recent college grads facing the challenges of turning their just-earned degree into a stepping stone to life -- a course that can't be taught in college -- and for parents who may not remember the "now what?" uncertainties graduates face. Patchett pays respect to those who influenced her, including a writing professor who encouraged his now famous student to almost completely rewrite the first draft of her speech, suggesting one of Patchett's life lessons is that we're never too old or accomplished to benefit from the wise counsel of others.
- Somebody gave this to me. I have been down on my back for a month or so - lost my jobs - i had a few and have been struggling to make ends meet so my sponser haned this to me casue she thought it woudl make me feel better. my whole life people have tried to help me by handing me books and gicving me lectures but no one ever relaly gives me the help i need - i need money and a job and a way to lose the weight and stay off disability and then here comes some succesful lady tellin me to make choices and hang in there and anything I want i can have as long as i listen to the news and get out there and get it done - but no one thigks about folks like me - I was abused every second of my life since I was a kid - by priests and teachers and the system everybody takin a piece from tonya wantin something for nothin - I was on drugs and sold myself for nothin but I got wise - i had to run away from a man - and then I had to get lots of different jobs to help my kids who don;t even speak to me anymore - but I stayed the course and tried to be string . but I give up when everyone I know accuse me of stealing from them - at jobs - I closed up one night and forgot to take the deposit to a bank so all of a sudden I am in jail for the 5th time and nobody cares. So this lady cna wriote her book and talk to the young ladies at some fancy school but here in the projects i am keepin it real and trying to live another day without getting readdicted to painkillers and tryin to look for a job when nobody wants me - so keep on talkin ann - the people who really need help dont go to soome fancy school - an if you saw me on the street - with my walker and my oxygen - i know you'd walk on past
- We used this book for a staff retreat, to get conversation going about ourselves and the college students with whom we work. A short read that staff won't groan about with limited time to complete it, funny and inspiring, thought-provoking as well. Recommend highly.
- Ann Patchett is one of my favorite authors. I loved her description in this book of how she discovered how to be one. Learning to stare figured into that and the now habit of staring also delayed her decision to get married for many years. "I just couldn't imagine living in a house with another person when so much of my life was spent sprawled across the sofa eyes wide open, saying nothing at all."
This book is short, but full of words to live by with thanks for those who have guided her way. It is delightfully highlighted with many photographs.
- Here earlier than expected and now to ready it for a book club at school.

5 comments about Thank You for Arguing: What Aristotle, Lincoln, and Homer Simpson Can Teach Us About the Art of Persuasion.
- When couples come to me for marriage counseling, they typically violate Heinrichs' most elementary principles. After reading this book, I realize that an important aspect of my counseling has been teaching rhetoric--the art of polite arguing.
For most couples, the idea of arguing politely seems like a joke or at least a myth until they learn to do it. The book will help with your understanding, but probably won't be enough to provide actual marriage help to put anger management into practice.
Heinrichs' style of writing makes rhetoric easy to learn, and some people will be able to put it into practice just using the book. However, in my experience with marriage counseling, I find that couples need practical exercises to make the process really easy and natural in everyday life.
You should know that my first copy was from the library. Half-way through, I realized I wanted my own copy. Then, when I was reading my own copy, I noticed my bookmark was mysteriously changing. The mystery was solved when my 22-year-old son announced he had been reading it and wanted to "borrow" it--and now I am buying my second copy.
Heinrichs has a light and humorous style. He brings stories from his own life, and he makes very complex concepts understandable through modern-day examples. I recommend this book for anyone wanting to improve his or her relationships.
- This is a fine book. Educational, funny, clever and well-written.
It will teach you plenty about rhetoric, while making you laugh. So it's doubly persuasive.
Heinrichs' observations on American society are also well worth the read, as when, for example, he explains that Americans once loved banter, until, that is, classics and rhetoric fell out of favor in the 19th century.
I will be re-reading this one.
Thank you, Mr Heinrichs.
Perhaps a sequel on the written word?
- This book has some stellar advice, but it's hard to get through when the author brags, insults his reader, discusses his everyday manipulation of his own family for nothing more than getting his way on movies.
If you can get past the author's personality flaws, I do have to admit that the book is a hidden gem in content.
- I used to study logic and rhetoric for fun, but in the past couple of years I have kind of lost my touch. I saw this book and with the reference to arguing and Homer Simpson on the cover, I had to check it out.
The books is fun, easy to read, and starts out right from the first chapter informing us about the use of rhetoric in our daily lives and then livens up the rest of the read with silly, but apt, analogies to rhetorical usages in pop culture.
For someone that loves the study or someone just getting into it, this is a good book for all of us to read. We need more people out there to brighten our lives with knowledge of the ways that politicians and advertising companies go out of their way to screw us on a daily basis.
- The art of persuasion involves moving the audience
in a positive direction prompted by the speaker.
Few books deal with the subject in any major way.
To do this, a motivational speaker must talk the language
of the audience. Expectations must be met to some considerable
extent. Above all, the speaker must come to know the audience.
There are various logical techniques for targeting an audience.
For example, aporia involves wondering openly about complex
issues or choices. Phronesis involves convincing the audience
that you can solve a problem through practical wisdom.
A condition precedent to successful implementation is
empathizing with the audience. Don't appear tricky and
be in genuine doubt about unresolved issues or ones too
difficult to solve in the short term. Occasionally,
expert speakers tell a story to change the mood of the
audience. Once you've identified a particular course of
action, get the audience to recognize and support your
decision or chosen option. A good speaker must navigate
the audience through the persuasion underworld.
A strength of this work is that the author describes
the complexities inherent in motivational speaking.

5 comments about 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace.
- If you are one of those that flips to any page in a book every now & then for a little insight & inspiration, on days when you need a little extra dose of "truth", then this is a perfect book for you. The pages are decorative glossy, and the chapters are full of analogies. It's worth the money!!
- This book is truly inspirational if you need a little pick me up. It will make you a little more happier and a little more nicer. It has a lot of good things to think about, about forgiveness and letting go of your past- which I had a lot of problems with and thanks to Wayne Dyer I've considered some of these teachings and activated them within my life.
- he's a bit religious but it doesnt get in the way of his screts for inner peace. also, he has a soothing voice.
- Well, after 4 or 5 wives who were pretty much 'enslaved' by Wayne Dyer, I know the 'spin' he expounds for the $$$,$$$... SOOOOO sad that he twists the truths of the universe (whatever those are) to his slimey advantage. Better to return to simple truths (like the Dalai Lama, Thich Nan, etc) instead of promoting this shyster. His wives could tell you he's a pr*ck. Sorry if this is dissolusing, but as most 'gurus' are fake...
- This book is very easy to read and inspiring. The book elaborates on 10 basic ideas. I shared this book with friends.

5 comments about Your Heart's Desire: Instructions for Creating the Life You Really Want.
- I purchased this book after seeing a reference to Sonia in another self help series and I found it to be a very helpful read for those who are ready to take a serious look at what they really want in life. The author talks about her own experiences (including a very uplifting story about how she found a “prince charming” to take her to a dance) and she gives suggestions about how to prioritize and bring more positive things into your life. Her main point is focusing on positive thinking. However corny it sounds I have found that yes you can get more accomplished by being positive. Even if taking that first positive step forward is a little scary.
One thing I should point out is you have to be ready for this book. No one else can give you a roadmap to navigate your own life. An open mind and positive thinking will help you digest this book and make reading it worthwhile.
- I am surprised I haven't written a review before now. I purchased this book almost 4 years ago and it was the catalyst for a whole new life. Sonia is a wonderful teacher, and with this book you not only get step by step guidance toward making your dreams a reality, you open yourself up to a whole new way of experiencing life and the gifts that are waiting for you. This book was my beginning of having the privelege of receiving extensive training from her and teaching this to others. Whether your heart's desire is a new job, house or whole life, this book will empower you to make it happen!
- Before "The Secret" and before the release of "The Law of Attraction" Sonia Choquette was teaching people how to create their dreams in this delightfully easy to read workbook that will help you do the very same. She breaks down the manifestation process into nine easy steps. If you do the exercises, you get results. Period.
I guided hundreds of people through the exercises in this book shortly after it came out and the results were phenomenal. People quit the groups to move to Hawaii, manifested jobs, houses, relationship, right living, you name it. Read this book, and you will create whatever you want too.
Sonia is a truly delightful, humble, and powerful spirit. And if you get a chance to attend any of her seminars, you will be richly rewarded in both bliss and powerful techniques.
Good job Sonia,
Ann Albers,
angel communicator & author, Love is the River: Learning to Live in the Flow of Divine Grace
- I read "Your Heart's Desire" after reading "The Psychic Pathway" by the same author as I believe "The Psychic Pathway" prepares you for this following book. Your spirit must be developed before you can truly look into your heart, your soul, and find what it is you really want.
Then, using these 9 principles Sonia outlines--1)focus 2)the support of the subconscious 3)imagination 4)eliminating obstacles 5)intuitive guidence 6)supporting your dream with love 7)surrending control to the Universe 8)claiming your dream) and 9)being true to your dream, she shows you how you can actually make your dream come true.
I especially liked the 7th principle--in which she says that after you have done the primary work--the Universe kicks in and does its part.
This principle takes faith and patience to wait, as your 'heart's desire' alligns with the Divine Spirit in the Universe.
Writing with a deep sense of the spiritual, an insight gained over years of living and practicing her psychic gifts, Sonia uses examples from her own life and those of her clients to illustrate her points.
She also uses humor and practical good sense to guide the ordinary person into an extraordinary life.
- great book on getting to the true way to solve any problem one may face and I mean any problem.

5 comments about Talent Is Never Enough: Discover the Choices That Will Take You Beyond Your Talent.
- This is a must read for everyone regardless of vocation or lifestyle. Reccommended to me by Jim Tressel of Ohio State University, and I have studied it like a college text book. As an educator and an advocate for youth, it has significantly affected me and the way I conduct my profession. Read this, it will be one of the best choices you'll ever make, and it takes no talent to do it!
- This book forces you to examine your character more than your talent. It offers concrete information with great examples.
- Globalization is quickening and will continue to have an increasing impact on your professional career. With globalization there will never be a shortage of Talent. Having the best talents and proven capabilities is not enough anymore. As the author puts it, we need to become "Talent-plus" person. If you do, you will add value to yourself, add value to others and accomplish more than you dreamed was possible.
This is an excellent book that can be applied in the real world. As an IT Project Manager, I was able to apply the learnings from the section on Teamwork to inspire my project team.
Other books on the same subject seemed very philosophical "common sense" with no practical actionable take aways. This book, however, explains things in very analytical format with examples that I could relate to, both personally & professionally. Recommended!
- I hate to sound harsh but I found this to be just another book with stories and examples to make the reader feel good. The author tells the reader if you aren't motivated then others can't motivate you and yet that is the underlying premise of this whole book. Would not recommend to anyone serious about wanting insight to leadership, coaching or anything near the two.
- This book is truly highly motivational in moving ourselves beyond what we believe are our talents and gifts. I really feel much can be gained from reading this phenomenal book.
John C. Maxwell truly has a gift with words and speaks from the heart. This is definitely highly recommended.
God bless you all.

5 comments about The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (Unabridged Audio Program).
- "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" is the most famous title of Stephen R. Covey, a professor of Brigham Young University where he taught prior to the publication of this best-selling work. The audio version became the first non-fiction audio-book in U.S. publishing history to sell more than one million copies. Covey holds a BS degree in Business Administration from University of Utah in Salt Lake City, an MBA from Harvard University, and a Doctorate of Religious Education (DRE) in Mormon Church History and Doctrine from Brigham Young University. He also holds membership of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity.
This audio program is mainly about the time management (chapters 1, 2, 3, 7) and interpersonal relationships (chapters 4, 5, 6). The time-management books like "Getting Things Done" by David Allen and "Time Drive" by Gleb Arkhangelsky frequently overlook the importance of interpersonal relationships in the time management.
Many of the ideas and much of the language of "The 7 Habits..." recast the content of the classic 1966 Peter F. Drucker book "The Effective Executive", wherein Drucker wrote: "Effectiveness, in other words, is a habit", and which includes a chapter called "First Things First".
Covey consistently opposes "quick-fix" solutions to life or business problems and insists that changes in paradigm or mindset to align with natural principles provide the "true" source of solutions. The author points out, for example, that the paradigm that produces short-term results in business inevitably leads to an inability to produce results for the long term. He calls this "killing the golden goose". Covey advocates balancing short- and long-term productive capacities as the most effective mindset for the businessperson.
- If you are looking for what my opinion is (because, of course, this morning you woke up and the first thing you thought was... what is the opinion of Alana Renfro?) the best motivational CDs out there- then stop your Amazon search and purchase the UNABRIDGED Audio Program of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
Working on the creative side of agencies, corporate businesses and boutique clients, you discover that many creative people do not know how to prioritize what is truly important vs. urgent, begin with the end in mind, or follow-through on set commitments with a trustworthy set of principles and ethics. After all, advertising and marketing can be known for the opposite! Just youtube "ad agency spoof", like "The Truth in Ad Sales" video from the UK or "Truth in Advertising".
My husband is in finances, I am in the creative industry, yet we both are incredibly inspired by this series of CDs. It is applicable to anyone in any industry- you just basically need the interest to better yourself, your business or your personal life. I had read the book previously, my husband had not, yet we both have these CDs in our cars as we drive to and from work and are able to not only learn from Mr. Covey's calming and informative audio, but implement the practices into our personal and professional lives. Also being parents, we've found his insights into families, mission statements, the power of thought and his personal family examples hugely helpful for our children and our perspectives.
As a professional, a wife, a mother, and simply someone who has a drive to better myself and succeed, these Unabridged CDs have changed my life. My husband and I both use the planners, but most importantly- the Unabridged Audio Program of 13 CDs I highly recommend.
- I have listend to the 3 disc set and now listening to the unabridged set. Do not waste your time and money on the 3 disc set for an initial training. The unabridged set has more information and examples and well worth the extra $. The 3 disc would be good for a reminder, but not for the initial training.
- Covey's 7 excellent habits is given an accessible treatment in this comprehensive CD package - ideal for those who have less time to read and appreciate the spoken word.
- For anyone who is into the pursuit of personal development, then this will be right up your alley. The only words of warning that come with it are ; "do not come looking here for a quick fix or a bandaid solution". Mr Covey speaks of concentrated effort based on important priciples which are covered in the audio and are by no means something for an overnight solution.
If you have ever wanted to hear a lesson then there is gold in them there cd's
