5 comments about Indigo Dreams: Adult Relaxation-Guided Meditation/Relaxation Techniques decrease anxiety, stress, anger (Indigo Dreams).
  1. Usually I don't write negative reviews but this tape is just the WORST. I bought it mainly because I was looking for a good relaxation tape to help me get to sleep and it got so many wonderful reviews that I picked it out of about 5 I was considering Every segment of this tape got on my nerves but the worst was the relaxation segment. He repeated the same four idiotic phrases for every part of the body that was supposed to be relaxing. For instance "you will relax your feet, you feet will relax, your feet are relaxing, your feet are relaxed" This phrase was repeated each and every time you were supposed to be relaxing different parts of your body. This tape got me more aggravated than relax me. The affirmations were also a joke. He repeated the same thing several times. Last but not least the visualization was ridiculous. I had a hard time trying to picture a rainbow entering my body and then changing colors from red to orange to yellow, etc. which was supposed to touch your inner organs and do I don't know what. I guess I've made my point...save your money, don't buy this tape.

  2. I bought this CD because I have sleep apnea and must use a CPap machine to sleep. It was difficult for me to get used to the machine and to fall asleep and stay asleep. This CD puts me in such a state of relaxation, that I now fall asleep as soon as I hear his voice! I also sleep more soundly - and have become accustomed to the CPap. (something I thought would be impossible) I now listen to the CD during the day so that I can actively listen to the affirmations. This CD is wonderful on so many levels. I couldn't be without it now.

  3. Very good. If you learning to meditate this one is good. I like the breathing excercises, the "belly breathing" as he calls it. I fall asleep to it alot as it is relaxing. Its a guys voice but very soothing. Very little music on it though. I gave it five stars because it does what I believe meditations CD's should do, destress, teach you how to destress, and relax you enough to fall asleep. Period.

  4. While I was listening to this CD and the breathing technique, I was wondering, "Oh for heaven's sake, how's this really gonna work?" At some point during the 2nd technique I was in a state of deep relaxation and then fast asleep. So, whether you complain or question or not, if you just do the techniques they work.

  5. I bought this tape because I was told by my doctor that I needed to learn how to relax. I have a back problem that gets severe at times and the relaxation methods on this CD are just great. I told my doctor about it and how it has helped me and he took the name of the CD and said he would recommend it to his other patients that were also having problems with relaxing. The affirmations also helped me like myself again. I am so glad I got this CD.

5 comments about Angel Therapy Meditations.
  1. Doreen Virtue's new audio meditation cd "Angel Therapy Meditations" is a GREAT meditation cd. I highly reccommend it to anybody that has a strong connection or wants to have a stronger connection with their guardian angels and the Archangels. In this meditation cd, Doreen guides you gently in releasing any stress, worries, and tension to the angels. Then you work with the loving archangels such as Archangel Michael, Archangel Raphael, Archangel Gabriel, Archangel Uriel, Archangel Ariel, Archangel Raguel, and Archangel Raziel. In this meditation, you work with the angels in getting clarity of your life's purpose, increasing confidence, releasing fears, and healing any problem that needs healing. You work closely with Archangel Michael in cutting cords to fear, and worry. Doreen also provides some powerful affirmations such as "It is safe for me to receive" and "It is safe for me to love and be loved." It is a beauitful cd. After you listen to it, you will feel good and uplifted. Hope you give this meditation cd a chance.
    Angel Blessings!

  2. This meditation touches every area, when you are done you will notice that your vibrations and your energy have completely shifted. I have worked with most of Doreen's meditation CDs and love them all but this one is very special because I noticed an immediate effect after the first time I did it. I tend to absorb vibes and energies from other people and this meditation helped me release them all. I highly recommend it even if all you want is relax and let go of stress and tension and you might get a pleasant surprise when you discover some unexpected benefits from this meditation.

  3. The meditations work wonderfully.

    The visualizations are powerful.

    Couldn't recommend it more!

  4. I am very pleased with the meditation technique that she uses, its part therapist and part spiritual teacher. She gives the listener gentle and thorough ways to make significant life changes. I found it very helpful indeed.

  5. I am a great fan of Doreen Virtue but as I already owned the "Angel Medicine" CD I found this too similar to it to warrant owning both. If you dont already have one of Doreen's CD then yes this one is a great buy, you will be very relaxed after it.

  1. A friend sent me this CD and I found it so helpful that I have ordered it for other friends. I listen to this calming CD daily. It has made a significant difference in my day. Ii is a guided relaxation that I recommend for beginners to those who are more advanced in this area of self-soothing work.

  2. Are you looking for a good night's sleep? With her soothing voice, Susie Mantell sends me to sleep by calming the noises in my head. Her words and serene manner of speaking create the most peaceful environment for me to close my eyes and drift off. People have noticed that I seem less stressed during the day and it is definitely because of this CD. I highly recommend it!

  3. I first heard this CD in a Meditation class. It put me right out. Susie Martell's voice, in my opinion, is fantastic for this kind of relaxation.

  4. I am a Clinical Psychologist, and have listened to many CDs. I am one of those who has never been able to stay awake to hear the end (or even the middle) of this very relaxing CD. I have recommended it to many of my patients, especially those who are stressed, anxious, and have difficulty sleeping. It has been helpful to and enjoyed by most everyone I have suggested trying it. As mentioned by others, her voice is very soothing and the cadence of the music just enhances the experience.

  5. THIS PRODUCT IS ALRIGHT. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I COULD'VE DL IT ON LIMEWIRE.

5 comments about Don't Sweat the Small Stuff at Work.
  1. Much of the stress we experience comes not from the workplace but from our reactions to our workplace. Most of Carlson's little book focuses on how we need to change our attitudes in order to minimize stress. For instance, work should be seen as something that we get to do rather than something that we have to do. Enjoy life now--don't wait for retirement!

Problems should be seen as speed bumps to negotiate gracefully, not barriers to be resented. One should recognize that life is full of hassles, and that these should be handled in stride. One should lay off the ego, because constant comparison with others will only raise one's stress. Workplace meetings, instead of being stewed at as unnecessary or boring, should be seen as challenges to learn something new.

Carlson also gives some practical pointers for minimizing work-related stress. For instance, if we feel hurried in the morning, we should get up earlier to give us more time to get ready for work. Long commutes to work, instead of being hated as a waste of time, should be profitably spent listening to books on tape. To avoid the stress caused by constant phone calls, we should have a "no phone" time when we don't answer the phone. Voice mail should be used more often. To dissipate general stress, we should spend ten minutes each day doing absolutely nothing. And, since vacation trips themselves can be stressful, we should spend more of our vacations puttering around at home or visiting local events and places.

  2. It is possible to pooh- pooh self- help , power of positive thinking books or to try and learn from them. I take the latter approach. My idea is always that if I learn one good thing from them I have profited.
This is particularly engaging and helpful self- help book. There are one hundred small essays on such topics as 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff' 'Relax' 'Breathe before you speak' ' Allow yourself to be bored' 'Repeat to yourself, " Life is not an Emergency" , 'Lower your tolerance to Stress', 'Become more patient' 'Surrender to the fact that life isn't fair' 'Let others be 'right' most of the time' ' Choose your battles wisely' ' Look beyond behavior' ' Become a better listener' ' Set aside quiet time every day' 'Imagine that everyone is enlightened except you' ' 'Smile to strangers, look into their eyes and say hello'.
What is surprising is though you think you might know most of this stuff you will probably be induced to practice a bit more by reading the work.
I very much liked this book. Its aim is to make people better and happier. I think it can do that.
What is nice about it is that the major ideas are given in the chapter- titles and then the small essays illustrate them and slightly elaborate upon them.
A few more of the chapters are as follows:
" Practice Random Acts of Kindness' ' Spend a Moment every day thinking of someone to thank' 'Learn to live in the present moment' ''Resist the urge to criticize' 'Choose being kind over being right' 'Search for the grain of truth in other opinions' ' Read articles and books with entirely different points of view from your own and try to learn something''Stop Blaming others' ' ' Get comfortable not knowing ' ' Lighten up'' Don't interrupt others or finish their sentences''Remember that everything has God's fingerprints on it.'
One problem of course is that a lot of this is easier said than done. 'Take fill your life with love' That's a hard one for many who have been trying and getting nowhere. Nonetheless the intention and direction are good.
They are in the spirit of my own attitude in reviewing books, " Try to find something good in it, and something good to say about it. And only criticize it if it is absolutely necessary.'

  3. The book was sold as great condition and it was not even in fair condition. Book was stained and old.

    Shipped from Florida

  4. How often have you said "I have to go to work"? Not, I want to.., but I have to. It's the mindset of the slave, whether slave to a boss, a deadline, a stack of bills, or a self-image. Richard Carlson, in his sensible, smart, and kind way, helps to break those bonds. Applying the strategies and principles in each brief chapter will result in true self-esteem, effective interpersonal relations, and higher levels of productivity more effectively achieved. Similar principles are explained in other expert sources, such as Intentional Living: Lessons from the Tree of Life

  5. Get it for yourself and your loved ones get it for those you dont even like so they can change for the better

5 comments about The Worry Cure: Seven Steps to Stop Worry from Stopping You.
  1. Great and useful book overall. It has some interesting and unique perspectives on dealing with the toxic worry (generalized anxiety).

Dr. Leahy, the worry specialist, who is a well-respected writer of many professional books, fills pages with numerous ways to attack this stubborn anxiety from many disciplines (philosophy, cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy and so on).

The information is very useful, especially, if you wish to move beyond just "basic" monitoring of your cognitive distortions, and address some "deeper level" issues such as core beliefs about yourself and the world, the meaning of a threat, uncertainty, and rumination.

As I read this book, I could not help thinking that someone who is chronically anxious for decades, and is seriously bogged down by procrastination and avoidance, will surely have difficulties facing up to own anxiety. The moment one starts, you will be faced with a monster. This anxiety protects itself violently and tries to survive by putting out many obstacles. So, I am saying the next sentence with great caution as I don't want to discourage anyone from this helpful book. However, I got a bit overwhelmed by this book's abundance of material and its deep daring level. If you dare to venture into this on your own, I wish you courage; however, I think this endevour is better suited for someone who has already started dealing with his/her anxieties and has achieved some degree of success, rather than a newbie. Maybe someone who has a support of a therapist and is super-motivated - although I don't know anyone like this. It helps to be very psychologically-minded and curious.

Having said this, if self-help books is your drug of choice, please know the book's usefulness and its broad scope surpasses many other books on the subject, and could be of immense benefit to a sufferer.

If like me, you will find it all to be too much, please check out two great primers that are easier to do with "baby steps": Anxiety Workbook by Edmund Bourne, and the second, Mind over Mood, by Podesky. Once the system is in place, everyone would benefit from this book, which has lots to add to move you further to the worry cure (provided it exists:-)

Finally, what helped me enormously, is finding a true conginitive therapist who is supportive, and consistent. In my case, the constant worrying subsided enormously, in 6 months. This is from someone who tried for years, to do it on my own. Books such as this one, suddenly start making sense only after therapy. The way to find a therapist is through Aaron Beck (father of cognitive therapy) institute in PA.

  2. Worry is not only ubiquitous to the anxiety
disorders, but brief, less severe manifestations
of this cognitive phenomena are pervasive throughout
the general population. Who amongst us has not
worried at one time or another? Moreover the deleterious
effects of chronic and severe worry are not confined
to a specific disorder like generalized anxiety
disorder but instead are a major symptom feature of
some of the most common mental health problems in
our society such as major depression, social phobia,
and substance abuse. In the daily routine of a clinical
practice, therapists repeatedly face patients who
feel defeated by a crippling state of worry. And yet,
it is surprising that worry was practically ignored by
clinical researchers until the last 10-15 years. Until
recently the empirical literature had little to offer the
treatment of worry and even less was available for
the general public in the form of scientifically based
    self-help books.
All that has changed with the publication
of Robert Leahy's book entitled "The Worry Cure".
Written in a systematic, instructive, and well-illustrated
manner, Dr. Leahy explains the nature, etiology,
persistence and treatment of pathological worry
in a style that is readily comprehensible to the general
public. Although the book is rooted in a cognitive
behavioral perspective, it is not dogmatic in its theoretical
    orientation. Findings from mindfulness cognitive
    therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy,
and emotion-focused therapy are discussed in terms
of their relevance for the treatment of chronic worry.
Throughout the book Dr. Leahy remains true to the
empirical traditional by ensuring that his insights into
the nature of worry and its alleviation are anchored in
the latest empirical research on worry. When recommending
this book for their patients, clinicians can
be confident that the guidance offered in its pages is
based on the latest findings in the research literature.
    illustrations.
The chapters are full of rating forms and
other clinical aids to help individuals implement
the recommended changes in their thinking and
behavior. What is particularly innovative in these
chapters is the focus on generic interventions
that can be adapted to any type of worry content.
Chapters 11 through 15 deal with worry associated
with specific issues such as concern about negative
evaluation and acceptance of others, abandonment
and rejection, health, finances and work or achievement.
These chapters deal with topics so common
in clinical practice that it is difficult to think of
patient who would not benefit from reading at least
    selected chapters.
In many respects the title of this book, The
Worry Cure, is a little misleading. Although this
definitely a self-help book on worry, it's contribution
is so much greater. Even if you did not suffer
with worry, there is much to be gained by reading
The Worry Cure. For example the chapter on dealing
with failure is probably the best clinical advice we
have seen on the topic. As well the chapter on financial
worries provides creative insights into a pervasive
problem in our society that rarely receives
the attention of clinical writers. In short, The Worry
Cure is an authoritative, clinically rich, and practical
handbook for dealing with worry in all of its
various manifestations. The therapist will find this
a valuable bibliotherapy tool when treating anxiety
and depression. It is also an indispensable source
of psychological knowledge on worry and its treatment
for all mental health practitioners. It should
be required reading for any student of psychotherapy.
If I could choose only 10 clinical texts for my
library, The Worry Cure would be one of them!.

  3. Dr. Robert Leahy's most recent book, The Worry Cure, is not just a timely publication that teaches individuals from all paths of life how to reduce the often crippling effects of pathological anxiety. It is also a well-needed and vital manual for coping with many of the uncertainties that we face in our complex and uncertain lives. Written in a down to earth, practical style, The Worry Cure is based on the very best that cutting edge empirical science has to teach us about the mind-body-spirit connections in the psychology of anxiety. It also teaches the various methods that people can use to place anxiety in the background and bring inner peace and joy to the foreground every day. What is particularly helpful about this publication is that Dr. Leahy not only informs the reader about techniques and skills that can be used to cope with anxiety, but he explains how anxiety works, and how to balance one's life so that anxiety is put into its proper perspective. Not only have I enthusiastically recommended it to all of my clients, but I find myself going back to it time and again for periodic refreshers.

Dr. Leahy's special gift is that he does not espouse his ideas in a preachy or dogmatic manner. Rather, he has integrated the very best that the cognitive-behavioral therapy revolution has to offer with other psychological theories and understandings that help people to make sense of their suffering in very humanistic and realistic ways. Consequently, he has crafted a manual that is deceptive in its practicality for the average person, yet it is grounded in some of the most reliable and valid findings that psychological science has to offer at this time.

The Worry Cure is such an easy read, the consumer should be cautioned to slow down and carefully absorb the wisdom in each page, despite being tempted to fly through it from cover to cover like a skier on a powdery downhill slope. It is not a book that is to be read and put back on a shelf or in a library. Instead, The Worry Cure is a book whose ideas must be read, re-read, pondered, savored, carefully digested, absorbed, and applied through daily practice, over and over, in order to make real changes in one's daily life. With that perspective, The Worry Cure is such an important book, it might be considered to be an essential manual for living in modern times from which everyone could profit, whether or not they are suffering from difficulties associated with anxiety.

Despite its appearance as a popular self-help book, The Worry Cure, is also a comprehensive treatment manual that mental health professionals will find quite helpful to use with their clients. As a core faculty member in the doctoral program in clinical psychology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, we utilize several of Dr. Leahy's scholarly books, including Treatment Plans and Interventions for Depression and Anxiety Disorders, Cognitive Therapy Techniques: A Practitioner's Guide, and Overcoming Resistance in Cognitive Therapy in our practicum seminar courses as an important component in our students' clinical training. I am certain that The Worry Cure will take its rightful place alongside other classic self-help books, as well as treatment manuals that both early-career clinicians and experienced mental health providers will come to rely on in their clinical practice as one of their most valued tools of the trade. It is truly a classic!

  4. Very well written with full coverage on the subject. I just wish it was condensed more as it is a lot to read on one subject that could easily be edited down.

  5. There are some simple things in the course of life that change the way you view things. They are often referred to as an 'epiphany'. I would regard this book as providing me with one that will help me for years to come.

There are parts of this book that are a cure in themselves "Productive versus unproductive worry" for example. Such a concise philosophy, beautiful in its simplicity. This alone makes this book priceless to myself.

However, the style Mr Leahy writes in, the non-patronising tone, the clarity of thought and logic make this book something profound.

I am 35 years old and have 'ramped up' my worrying over the last 3 years. This 'habit' began with a very stressful job where I struggled to keep perspective. Worry become the norm. And it is a norm that is destructive, energy sapping and ultimately incredibly dangerous.

I laughed out loud during the first chapter as I recognized aspects of myself in what he was writing of. It was fantastic to see it in writing and understand that I was not alone. There were numerous times in the introduction alone that I recognized myself.

Needless to say, he elaborates on his ideas brilliantly. He builds his concepts with honesty and understanding of those he is writing for. Utlimately the effect, in my opinion at least, is profound.

I would like to thank Dr Leahy for writing this great bit of logic. I feel like a different person and am already catching those 'unproductive thoughts' to tackle at either a better time, or for that matter, not at all.

Work through this book if 'worry' is your 'worry' (sorry, didn't quite know how to term this differently!). Dwell on the points. Recongnize yourself. Take those nuggets of wisdom and run with them.

If you are like me, you will not regret it.

    An easy 5 stars.

5 comments about The Relaxation Response.
  1. This book didn't change my life but combined with other books about the subject was a welcome addition.

  2. Let me just start by stating that I'm a very sceptical person, and have had high blood pressure for 20 years. I also had endoscopy that showed some acid reflux. I saw the original print hardcover book and decided to read it. I couldn't put it down! I immediately began to apply the techniques from the book. My blood pressure went from 145ish/95ish to 108/65, consistently. I felt no "burning" from acid reflux. Prior to reading this book, I had began a diet and exercise program. I lost 25lbs and approx. 2 inches off my waist, but my blood pressure was still high. I liked the way the book was written. Straight forward, no frills, just pertinent, well explained information. This book helped me save my life.

  3. Probably not fair to rate the book below maximum, because this classic really was revolutionary at its publication, and is still very current at its core. The reason for rating the book now, of course, is to recommend/not-recommend a book for reading. Therefore, since the first ¾ of "Relaxation Response" covers ground that many more current books do very well, today's reader might well just skim the first six chapters. The seventh chapter quite well summarizes what to DO, and that is what the book is aiming at, after all. As stated at the beginning of that chapter, how to use the relaxation response is very straightforward. Excellent too, but we have to wade through a goodly portion of its approximately 150 pages to see that. Back in its original day, it was probably worth the full wade.

There are only four steps to this process - simplicity is good - and it is not appropriate in a review to list them. Get the book from the library and find them restated in chapter 7.

  4. very good book - not a gimmick.
gives simple to use technique that anyone can use.

5 comments about Change Your Thoughts Meditation CD: Do the Tao Now!.
  1. rating less than a star, I like Dr. Dyer's reading material and lectures; however his voice on this CD is terrible, don't know if even the masters can meditate to that loud, off-key scarry sound of Tao he repeats.

  2. I have always liked to listen to Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, and found his positive and spiritual messages enlightening. However, I was very disappointed with this repording. I thought he would talk a bit about each of the 81 TAO affirmations. Instead, he read each one in his soothing voice while beautiful, relaxing music played, and then broke the spell with three loud and repeated chants. I found the chants so annoying that I could not absorb the affirmations. In fact, did not have time to absorb an affirmation before his chanting virtually destroyed their power. It was extremely difficult for me to listen to the entire CD for the actual content. I believe it would have been much more effective if Dr. Dyer had explained the chant-meditation method and provided an example of his TAO chant (one time) in the introduction at the beginning of the CD. Without the chants I believe the CD would be a wonderful tool for meditation. I still like Dr. Dyer's works, but will never buy another of his audio books that states it is a meditation.

  3. I had experimented with a small sample that is given by joining wayne dyer's mailing list and rush to buy the complete cd. it's a good practice and i recomend you giving it a chance. (If you fell the need to try it first just do what i did)

  4. I am a big fan of Wayne Dyer's, especially his Tao work, but this CD is terrible. I listened to it once and I doubt I will ever listen to it again. Dyer will say a sentence then do 4 "Tao" chants (saying the word "Tao" drawn out for about 20 seconds each.) After listening to this several times, it became unbearable. This is a very disappointing CD.

  5. As meditation is a personal thing and everyone is drawn to different methods I thought I'd share a bit more about this cd.
It's basically a two line reading of each essay(81 essays) followed by a very loud "DAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".
    Think "AUM" but substitute DAO.

Personally, it's too loud and in my face. I was hoping for a gentle reading of each verse as I have the book and have really enjoyed it(see my review).

This is just an opinion as I know a lot of people like the "AUM". Duz it come with de AUM? No, it comes with the "DAO".

5 comments about Why Mars and Venus Collide: Improving Relationships by Understanding How Men and Women Cope Differently with Stress.
  1. Its too bad that so late in life (mid 50's) i read this book. I recommend it to anyone 16 and older. After the bible, if there is only one book you read, this is the one. at last we can learn why our sex and the opposite tend to act as they do. A friend gave me a cd of the book which i loved, then i bought a copy for my son. before being given the book on cd, i would have thought it a stupid sounding book and never bought it. We can all get along. Don't miss this opportunity to bring peace and understanding to the ones you love most.

  2. This is the most excellent book. I read it and it changed my life. I did what the author recommends and feel great now. Get off the anti-depressants they are whats making you fat and sluggish. Take the vitamins and eat the way he suggests and your life will change for the better within a matter of days.

  3. John Gray really knows his 'decoding' methods of men and women. Yet, he teaches us how to use them in every day life, while having fun. Our lives really have changed in the 21st century and this was a much needed update while still applying his Martian and Venusian relationship skills.

Any man or woman will definitely benefit from reading this book in their personal relationship with their partner in life. Relationships do take work, but it can be fun at the same time when we add understanding the opposite sex.

    Highly recommended to everyone!

  4. EXCELLENT CD'S, WE JUST STARTED THEM AFTER HEARING JOHN GRAY ON TALK RADIO. FOR ANYONE WORKING ON THEIR RELATIONSHIP THAT WANTS TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER BETTER THIS IS A GREAT HELP.

  5. I have taken so many helpful hints from this book and applied to my new dating relationship. The knowledge about how men handle tasks and how their brain works, helps me to react better...causing less fights! It really works. My boyfriend reaffirms me by saying "I can't believe how smoothly our relationship is going and how sweet and understanding you are." I will keep the book my secret for now :)

5 comments about Getting Unstuck: Breaking Your Habitual Patterns & Encountering Naked Reality.
  1. I have not opened it yet. I did not realize I was buying a CD; I wanted the book. Is there a possibility of replacing my upopened CD with a book?

  2. This is very worthwhile if you are struggling to break free of self-limiting habitual thoughts and actions. It's not cure, but it's a process.

  3. Perhaps the title doesn't exactly describe Pema's discussion topics but nevertheless what she talks about it well worth it!! Pema's insights and her ability to explain them in simple Western ways makes her a gem. The practices and teachings discussed in "Getting Unstuck" will stick with me forever and ever. They are very meaningful, helpful, realistic, understandable and practical.
If you are looking for a fresh way to examine why you do the things you do (over and over again), this Pema seminar is for you!

  4. This CD set is taken from a series of classes given by Pema Chodron to help us to understand that we can have some control over the thoughts and emotions that enter our minds. Although meditation is the primary tool used by Buddhists to be become of aware of and work with thoughts and emotions, the information given by Pema Chodron is not specific to meditation. We all have trouble dealing with our emotions at times, and these teachings help us to see what it is that we are dealing with and offers advise on how to deal with our emotions. I don't meditate, but I found the information to be very useful and I believe it can be of benefit to everyone. Pema Chodron speaks in a very accessable manner and uses stories and humor to illustrate her teachings, making it very easy to listen to these CD's. I can't imagine that anyone would not appreciate hearing them--I've listened to them several times. I highly recommend this set.

  5. Pema Chodron has a wonderful approachable style which is evident in this audio collection of her speeches. While she is a practising buddhist nun, her insights and advice are compelling for people of all backgrounds. I have owned this volume for over 2 years now and keep returning to it when life gets tough. It is a wonderful companion with practical wisdom and I can imagine it being my companion through life's journey.
But this is not just an exercise in "feel good", it is an invitation and practical guide to reach your highest potential.

5 comments about From Panic to Power: Proven Techniques to Calm Your Anxieties, Conquer Your Fears, and Put You in Control of Your Life.
  1. I can say that after going through "Attacking Anxiety and Depression" and reading,"From Panic To Power" I have come to relize just how important every word Lucinda had to say. This lady is an angel, and I thank Jehovah God for sending her into my life, I'd have no clue where I be today if it was'nt for her annointed words. THIS WOMEN TAUGHT ME WHAT THE WORD FAITH TRULY MEANS.

  2. OK...well written, but didn't tell anything we don't already know all over the internet on this subject. Basically, breathe deep and think positive. Duh.

  3. Only listen to a little but like what i heard, it makes you feel the fear and go for it. Because you can conquere your fears and be free.

  4. This author was actually pretty screwed up before she wrote this, and she's better now. She tells about what she (and some support group members) did to overcome agoraphobia and anxiety. If it worked for her, it has to work for anyone. This is great in conjuction with Edmund J. Bourne's Anxiety and Phobia Workbook. The techniques she used are more detailed in his workbook. They actually work if you can master them.

  5. I was literally ABUSED when I called for the "free cd" she does not really offer. After asking for it to be sent to me so I could make an informed decision I was told by her salespeople, "I've told you everything thats on the cd, you do not need to recieve it". And then I was literally BULLIED into ordering the extrememly expensive program with no chance to think it over. Even when I later became angry about the hard sell & tried to cancel the order, the person I spoke to literally tried to force, refused & even DEMANDED, that I not cancel my order! Only when I finally gave up on politeness & literally screamed at the salesperson, "I said CANCEL THE GD ORDER"!! & then threatened to change my credit card info with my bank, did the person finally cancel the order. This woman uses extreme bullying techniques to push a wayyyy over priced questionable product, taking advantage of people already weakened by mental distress. She & her infomercial need to be investigated by the BBB and consumer watch dog groups!! As far as all these supposedly good "reviews" this woman's "program" is getting, I have to wonder, after my own experience, how many of these she wrote herself (or had her toadies write for her). BUYER BEWARE!!!!
