5 comments about Energy Anatomy.
  1. This is by far one of the best purchase I have ever made. Carolyn does an excellent job at explaning the 7 charkras. Truly amazing cd series. Highly recommended.

  2. If you think that you might benefit from "therapy", listen to this program. A large part of the effort of therapy is getting an individual to open to themselves, to see themselves as they really are, as a precursor to making changes in their life. Caroline Myss' recordings of "Energy Anatomy" and "Advanced Energy Anatomy" open the door to that introspection, giving you a framework in which to see your past life, and present actions. True, you may not agree with everything she says. But I guarantee you will find yourself nodding in agreement over and over again, at the insightful ways she presents the workings of human minds and emotions. And you will find Caroline Myss offering you answers to many of the questions you've asked yourself ("Why do I do this?" "Why did I do that?") over the years. I'm not recommending you forego therapy, if you really need it. Professional therapy can be very valuable. But I am saying that Caroline's recordings are a terrific way of getting in touch with yourself, and seeing yourself clearly (maybe for the first time), regardless of whether you want to pursue professional counseling, or not. And because (as Caroline says) the mind and emotions are prime determinants of the health of the body, this is an excellent series for anyone interested in taking good care of their body, and creating the best health possible for a vibrant and very happy life. "Energy Anatomy" offers a new way of looking at yourself, at others, and at the world around you, and this program may be the best thing you try this year.

  3. If you are feeling open and you'd like to "wake-up" today - I HIGHLY recommend this audiobook. You can thank Caroline Myss for her insight into the non-material presence in this life and with shining wisdom, bringing it quickly to the material world. This is a wonderful spiritual and scientific lecture series, not to mention a very exciting journey to listen to (even if you never enact her beliefs into your life). It has helped me profoundly with balancing my energy and I did not have to be a mystic to get it. She is a very good teacher.

This audio book is easily listened to in 9 hours, while driving in rush hour traffic on your way to work, but be forewarned that Caroline Myss is not joking around when she embodies the teacher's archetype. What was once a mundane rush hour drive will turn into a vibrant interaction of the energy paradigm. She will teach you and if you are at all a skeptic like I was (esp. about Chakras and unseen mysteries), thinking that you've got the world materialistically figured out, and your reality beat, then you are in for a sharp and exciting surprise. You may find yourself sliding down the rabbit hole of "Who am I? and "Why am I doing this?" and "What is the purpose of my life?" and "Where am I, now?"

These types of awareness-based questions are implied throughout her tales and experiences with anatomy of our body's energy systems. Thankfully, with insight, clarity and precision, Dr. Myss explains exactly what we are made of and it is very reassuring to know that when we do start to ask these questions of a deeper nature, there are guides like Caroline Myss who are brave enough to teach the stuff.

  4. I borrowed a friends copy of this audio book and was so impressed I had to get my own copy. Truly a gem and wonderful resource giving a tremendous amount of insight to intuition and spirituality

  5. While the information put forth in this CD set is very valuable, Myss's delivery is harsh at best and often downright offensive. She has an ego the size of Jupiter and is bombastic, self-righteous and condescending. It's difficult to listen to her much of the time, and she comes across as one of those people you just don't want to be around. It's astounding to me that someone who teaches such valuable material can live through such an unpleasant personality. Hypocrisy also seeps out again and again. While she admonishes others to "unplug from tribal beliefs," her Catholicism is almost palpable. Actually, I can almost see her rapping knuckles at her workshops if you don't fall in line with her way of thinking. She comes across as inconsiderate and obnoxious in several of her own anecdotes, and it is challenging to absorb the material that IS of value from such a prickly messenger.

5 comments about Angelic Messenger Cards: Divine Guidance for Personal Healing and Spiritual Discovery, A Book and Divination Deck.
  1. "Life is abundance all around us, and the flowers symbolically show us the reflection of God. All our anxieties can find reassurance as we accept the blessings of the angels. We are guided with each breath we take; and through each heartfelt gaze into a flower, we do indeed hear the voices of the angels." - From the Angelic Messenger Cards companion book

When picturing an angel, you may think of winged cherubs or majestic tall beings that deliver messages and provide aid. According to author Meredith Young-Sowers, symbols and archetypes convey divine guidance to humanity, and one of the most powerful, simple, and exquisite form is through flowers.

Angelic guidance and delicate flowers may seem an unusual pair, but Ms. Young-Sowers harmoniously melds them together in Angelic Messenger Cards. Constructed of 48 cards with vibrant floral photographs by Judi Winall, the author's model of spiritual energy forms the basis of this oracle. There are six aspects to spiritual energy in this template with seven cards related to each of these areas:

    1. Reflection - Becoming aware of your divine self

    2. Partnership - Growing spiritually in relationships

    3. Integration - Establishing an inner harmony among the body, mind, and spirit

    4. Alignment - Performing meaningful work that grows from your divinely inspired life purpose

    5. Rejuvenation - Participating with nature in the cycles of life for your personal renewal

    6. Nourishment - Choosing thoughts, foods, and emotional responses that give you spiritual fulfillment

In addition to the 42 cards from the six areas, Ms. Young-Sowers includes four Wild Cards of Divine Guidance and two Wild Cards of Abundance. In the glossy 220-page, full-color companion book, the author provides a comprehensive explanation of her system, as well as how to gain the most from using the Angelic Messenger Cards.

The companion book provides four sections of material for each card, including:

    * Present Challenge - Helps you identify your undercurrent of feelings that has caused you to draw this card

    * Angelic Message - A channeled message from Ms. Sowers' guide, Mentor, whose focus and attention is on raising the spiritual energy of individuals on earth at this time

    * Spiritual Opportunity - Interprets the flower image on the card you have drawn

    * Application - Offers specific ways to further integrate and understand the message of the card

Ms. Young-Sowers does not provide the names of the flowers found on the Angelic Messenger Cards, believing that each bud and bloom offers a wealth of insight based on its color and formation. Through observation, stillness and openness, these delicate messengers can promote spiritual advancement and deliver penetrating insights about ourselves, others, and life.

When I first saw the attractively packaged Angelic Messenger Cards set, I had my reservations about how well it would work as an oracle. I have often received messages from birds, trees, and other elements of nature--but never "tuned in" to flowers (despite admiring them!). And, I couldn't understand what flowers had to do with angels--wondering if such a pairing would seem forced or superficial.

Because Ms. Young-Sowers holistic system offers breadth and depth to the subtle arena of energy, love, and well-being, I began to see how such an oracle could potentially work quite well. To my amazement, when I did two separate one-card draws with this deck, I received uncannily *specific* insight that was directly related to my questions!

Although I've only used the Angelic Messenger Cards for one-card spreads, Ms. Young-Sowers offers other layouts in the companion book, including a six-card "Opening to the Energy of Love Spread". For this particular layout, the author recommends dividing the deck according to the six "suits", then drawing a card from each group. She writes:

"Much like a physical X-ray, the guidance you receive spiritually from [this] spread gives you a means of evaluating your progress in matters that are not so easily measured but are the crucial basis for your health and well-being."

The Angelic Messenger Cards and companion book comes in a lovely, but sturdy, box with a magnetic cover flap, which is great for storing the kit on a bookshelf.

If you love flowers and have an openness to receive subtle, yet specific, messages from both floral intricacies and the angelic realm, you'll likely enjoy the Angelic Messenger Cards lovingly created by Meredith Young-Sowers.

  2. After lending the original she had and not having it returned, my wife was heartbroken as she was unable to find a replacement. Found at a fine price on Amazon and very happy. So happy that I purchased another set as a gift.

  3. I favor the most astute Reviewer: Janet Boyer's review of this unique Angel Oracle. Has anyone sat in a garden of beautiful floral designs with many pleasant fragrances to meditate and clear one's negative thoughts into positive ones???? Take the Angelic Messenger Cards as this garden and hold the deck and meditate for a few minutes. Now, you are ready to read an Angel reading from your Garden of Tranquility, one card or more in a larger spread. By reading from this Garden you are sharing this experience with others with the angels' Blessings. Amen...Acquire this one for your own Tranquility Garden....

  4. i'm not one to believe in the new age stuff but i have had the opportunity to try these cards several times. each time the card and message have been appropriate for the moment and what was going on. they have been helpful and lead to insight. i recommend them to anyone who is open to another avenue of looking at life and it's mysteries. linda b.

  5. I received my order in a very timely fashion but am so very disappointed in the poor quality of the cards. The very first time I unwrapped and shuffled them, the plastic coating peeled off of one of the cards. I guess I don't expect much use from these, but the book is nice. I'm not going to buy a mailer or pay postage, take the time (spend the gas) to go to the post office to return this item, just won't be buying books from Amazon again.

5 comments about Every Day I Pray : Prayers for Awakening to the Grace of Inner Communion.
  1. I have incorporated the prayers in this book my everday spiritual well-being. My fiance' and I read a prayer from this book, and a daily devotional from another book, and I have never felt this close with him before. We take time to pray together and relfect on the devotional for the day every night before we go to bed. God has definitely sent his message through this sister because they are on point almost every day. Thoughts expressed in this reading can apply to almost every area in my life. I love this book!

  2. I loved this little book filled with dynamic verses and prayers designed to unlift the spirit and feed the soul, while addressing a variety of subjects and situations that we are often confonted with in life. A prayer book to make reference to for any and all occassions.

  3. Prayers for all occasions, a book you will always return to. You will enjoy tremendously

  4. Enjoyed the book. Noticed neither Jesus nor the cross referenced a single time. How can a Christian write an entire prayer book and not ONCE mention the Lord, the King, the cross, our ONLY mediator and advocate, the way the truth and the life for us?

    (It's a rhetorical question.)

  5. I'm a huge fan of Iyanla's and I love almost everything she writes- this book is no exception. It gives you a glimpse into how she communicates with the Divine. It inspired me to add more depth and more honesty to my own prayers. Highly recommended

5 comments about The Secret of the Shadow: The Power of Owning Your Story.
  1. This book is a great introduction to Debbie Ford's tranformational work. She is a talented author and motivator. An inspiring book that helps you to understand yourself and your "story." By understanding yourself better, so can you understand the people in your life.

  2. I had this book for 3 years before I opened it. Perfect timing for me. I read and did the exercises. Then I heard Debbie Ford was coming to a City near me...After her presentation I said "Who are these people; I want more of this work"..Years later I am still amazed at my continued positive outlook on life and my ability to accomplish my goals and get past my excuses..Debbie, her staff and my "fellow" coaches are family. Rosemary E. Redmond, Texas

  3. We spend all kinds of time watching tv, going to movies, watching dvds, intrigued by the plotlines and stories unfolding in your lives. But did you know that there is a story playing out in your own life? One that maps directly to your choices, your behaviors, your actions and even your beliefs?!! This book rocked my world in showing me the plotline by which i lived my entire life. Once I uncovered my own story, I stopped being a prisoner of the past and made exciting, new and bold choices. It's an amazing book that will wake you up to your own limitations and open up a whole new world. Truly a life-changing read.

  4. For someone who's been around the self-help block several times, "The Secret of the Shadow" offers information and tools that are useful and make sense. The idea that much of what I tell myself and others about the events and incidents of my life is not necessarily true, but instead is just a "story" has been powerful in my life. With this new perspective I've learned to step out of the limitations of my story at will, along with the excuses, and rationalizations I've made up to justify any circumstances I don't like. I now have the ability to instantly shift the way that I feel about and respond to situations, by simply choosing to interpret them in a different way. That's what I call useful!

  5. This book was required reading for my Reiki Master class. Ms. Ford provides excellent tools for personal growth and acceptance. I also included this book on my resouce list for my clients.

5 comments about Joy's Way, A Map for the Transformational Journey: An Introduction to the Potentials for Healing with Body Energies.
  1. I have been seeking and studying in the Personal/Spiritual Growth field for over 20 years and have explored many varied avenues. This book is written at the Intermediate level. It takes times to absorb the material and open to our own "spiritual inner voice", with honesty and unconditional love. After reading the book I was fortunate to attend Brugh's workshop and learn in more depth about chakras, the I Ching, dreamwork, and other spiritual tools. A great read, an honest and insightful teacher.

  2. A very worthwhile book for anyone interested in healing or alternative medicine.

  3. I attended a workshop with this dangerous charlatan. I was truly shocked by what I witnessed. This self-procliamed messiah had an almost hypnotic effect on his devotees. He appealed to their egos by telling them they are the "chosen ones" privy to the wisdom of the "ancient mystery schools." But there's a catch,to be a part of his special circle one must embrace thier darkness. "I am the darkness" is the mantra of those who follow this man. And the results are what you might expect puppet-like people who slump and then stand to attention depending on their master's pull of the string.

  4. I love this book and recommend it to others interested in healing and personal growth. Dr. Joy is a dedicated, sincere, and gifted healer and teacher. His workshops are a source of healing and inspiration for so many. I believe that the negative reviews here stem from an ignorant misunderstanding of the term "shadow", which is a Jungian term for the rejected parts of our personality, which can become toxic if not recognized and reassimilated. There is nothing at all "dark" or sinister about this book or this man. And "kundalini crisis"??? Please! Show me one and we'll talk. Please read this book and expand your healing horizons.

  5. I read this book back in 1984 and totally loved it. I am now rereading it after I have had to take greater responsibility for my health after an extended period of illness. Once again, I am finding it a great read, full of inspiration, and a great guidebook for healing.

Well done, Sarah. You've presented a very important, inspirational road map, especially for baby boomer women who are getting ready to clear out and move forward. Pamela D. emotional upheaval such as divorce. Thanks for Amazon.com's help.

  3. I love it when a book finds you in the exact moment you need it. This one has. The content is inspiring and speaks to me about the things that make up the tapestry of my life right now. The author knows what I've gone through and what I need to strive for in the next chapter of my life. Love this book. Perfect for those who never dreamed of being at this stage of life at this age but still intend to thrive.

  4. This book is a beautiful, deeply personal, and wonderful work. I feel that this book has changed my life, because the author is so genuine and open about her own heart. Her honesty causes me to realize things about myself or put into words emotions that I could not yet figure out. I hope every woman will read this book. This book found me in a crisis of my life, and has helped me to get through it. I am grateful for it.

  5. After Simple Abundance -- a book I found so amazing -- affected her life by it's huge success, Moving On keeps the reader in on this woman's growth and wonderful life affirming suggestions.

1 comments about Yours, Jack: Spiritual Direction from C.S. Lewis.
  1. I'm a compulsive C.S. Lewis collector and, if you're even thinking about buying this book - I'll bet it's not the first volume of Lewis that you'll place upon your shelf, either. His life was so complex, his imagination so expansive and his faith so deep that I find myself drawn toward his often strange and ultimately triumphant life over and over again. I've collected virtually all of his books and nearly all of the main titles written about him over the years. I even own the big 3-volume collection of his letters.

So, why buy this new book if your "Lewis shelf" looks even a little bit like the overflowing Lewis section in my library?

I think there are a couple of reasons that this book is a great new offering: First, most of us are hesitant to purchase, let alone slog all the way through, the big 3-volume set. I'll admit that, while my set of the letters has some turned-down corners here and there - I haven't waded through those volumes cover to cover to cover to ... Well, you get the point.

Second, we love reading letters, don't we? Letters are foundational in the world's great religions. Our revelations come to us, quite often, in the form of epistles. The New Testament books are mostly letters. As a journalist and editor myself for more than 30 years, I've written thousands of letters (now Emails and posted epistles) and I've received, edited and published thousands of readers' letters. I can tell you this - there are few books with the impact of a well-written, well-timed letter.

And, third, Paul F. Ford has pulled into these nearly 400 pages a most intriguing, sometimes troubling and always fascinating thematic collection of "Jack" Lewis' letters concerning "spiritual direction." In a very brief introduction, Ford outlines his choices as falling into three categories: "spiritual companionship" (letters to friends on spiritual matters), "spiritual discipleship" (letters Lewis wrote seeking advice) and "spiritual direction" (letters in which Lewis gave advice).

Ford turns this book into a great choice for seasonal reading - forming a kind of pathway of letter-shaped stepping stones out of Lewis' expansive and, quite often, very messy life. Ford is handing us a book that small groups, including Sunday-morning classes, could divide into chunks for at least a two-month study of Lewis and the spiritual legacy of such letters.

Curiously, HarperOne gives Ford precious little space in this book - or perhaps Ford chose not to step too prominently into the path of readers who are eager to encounter Lewis, rather than the editor. Nevertheless, it's important, especially if you're thinking about buying this book, to realize that you're in the hands of widely acknowledged Lewis scholar.

Ford has feet firmly planted both in Catholic and Protestant worlds. He likes to point out that he was the first Roman Catholic in the doctoral program at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena - and he now is a professor of theology and liturgy at St. John Seminary in Camarillo, California. In his spare time, he rolls out Lewis books that I - among thousands of others - keep picking up and enjoying.

He's the creator of one of my own most-thumbed Lewis volumes, the thick little paperback, "Companion to Narnia." I also recommend that book - if you're jumping into that delightful fantasy realm along with millions of other Americans in this era of Narnian revival.

The important point here is that whatever your religious orientation may be as you think about Lewis - and think about this book and its themes - you're in firm hands here whether you're a newly minted evangelical, a curious mainliner or an active Catholic hoping to stir up your parish's adult education program.

Finally, let me point out a couple of personal "favorites" within this new collection.

I love the final section of the book. It's quite well known now among Lewis fans that he died on the same day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated half a world away. JFK's passing completely eclipsed Lewis' passing in global media. And, oddly enough, reading these letters that Ford has excerpted for us -- notes scattered throughout the months of Lewis' demise - I suspect that Lewis himself wouldn't have cared an iota that his death dropped from the front pages. Oh, Lewis loved the media limelight. But, for Lewis, at the actual point of his death -- his own story already had unfolded. His final letters clearly make the case that he had enjoyed the great adventures of his life and settled matters peaceably as he approached these final days.

There's a 1963 letter to a friend here in which he writes that preparation for death "means stripping off that body which is tormenting you: like taking off a hair-shirt or getting out of a dungeon. What is there to be afraid of?" Amazing. Death as "getting out of a dungeon," penned by a dying master of dungeon lore.

And, then, leaping back into the middle of the book: Some of this may be a revelation to you if you haven't read many contemporary spiritual memoirs (and I'm thinking here of the writings left behind by saints such as Dorothy Day). But, in the heart of the book, you'll find that Lewis' amazing life wasn't constructed as one continuous cruise through mystic inspiration. Quite the contrary! Real saints like Lewis, Day and others admit that spiritual life is full of fumbles, dead ends and silences.
I especially recommend a letter penned in 1948 in which Lewis begins by advising his friend: "I very much doubt if I'm good enough at prayer myself to advise others." And then, as he begins to offer his thoughts, friend to friend, he writes like this: "Of course it is very difficult to keep God only before one for more than a few seconds. Our minds are in ruins before we bring them to Him and the rebuilding is gradual."

This is a hefty little book at nearly 400 pages and perhaps not a typical choice for small groups - but I would urge you not to miss this great and often strange spiritual adventure with our old friend, Jack.

  1. One of the most interesting books I have every read next to ,"The Science of Being".A must read for all,but only if your ready."When the student is ready the teacher will come".

  2. I'm really enjoying this book anything that helps elevate consciousness is OK with me, the wisdom it evokes will bring forward the Spiritual evolution that is needed at this time.

  3. This is one of the most astounding books i have ever read that really makes sense of what is happening all around us and where humanity is headed in the future.

  4. I'm ashamed to say I bought this book. I thought it was a review of the history of our scientific progress and it isn't. Several times I thought of putting this book down and forgetting about it, but then I thought I'd read it just for the entertainment value....reading it as if it was a parody of a soothsayer going through his/her routine for a client.

This book isn't worth the paper it's written on.

I gave it one star just because the webpage to review this piece of trash wouldn't let me proceed unless it had at least one star.

  5. A must read book. We are now approaching a different age and we must all become more conscious. Everyone should read this book, fantastic book.

  1. By way of disclosure, I have never met Ms. Falsani in person, but we have corresponded via email on various issues. Now-on with the review!

One of the joys for people living in Chicago is the vibrant writing found in the city's newspapers. Cathleen Falsani is on the religion beat for the Chicago SunTimes and she brings a new and fresh and dare I say "fun" perspective to writing about religion. She does the same in the "God Factor". Her style of listening and careful questioning brings out unexpected insights from people you might be surprised to find out even think about issues of faith.

Originally, I was going to give this book only four stars. I wish she had been a bit more challenging of some of the answers to her questions. In her shoes, I would have gagged on some of the replies given by interviewees. However, that's not her style and that's why Falsani could bring us a book as good as this. In constrast, I will only bequeath book reviews to posterity.

If your view of religion extends beyond the stained glass stereotypes, Falsani is going to be one of your favorite reads.

  2. I did enjoy this book . it is a book of thoughts from various celebritys about their beliefs in/of God - or their offerings of what motivates them spiritually, in life. i enjoyed hearing the note of zeal in most of the voices about their beliefs. i was often inspired to re-think - or, re-affirm, that is - my own spirituality and beliefs. this book is interesting, and sometimes takes you by surprise and touches your heart.

  3. In The God Factor author Cathleen Falsani has brought together the thoughts and life directions of some 32 famous, or at least publicly known, people from all walks of life and many different religions. Ms. Falsani interviewed these people, usually in their own homes or places of business, attempting to get beyond labels with often surprising results. Each short interview is headed with information about the religion the person was raised in and which they currently espouse.

Examples of the philosophies include (with the current religion and occupation):

Tom Robbins, (cosmic lounge lizard) writer: We're all agnostics...even the prophets of old.

John Mahoney, (Catholic) rector: Religion means being charitable.

Annie Lemay, (no religion) singer/songwriter: I ask myself "Am I being kind?"

Jeffrey Sachs, (secular Jew) economist: We should end poverty and hunger now, because we can. Americans are unique in the world in having the opinion the the poor have only themselves to blame for their poverty.

This book is a veritable cookbook of relgious and spiritual options. Not recommended for those who are positive they already have a lock on the truth.

  4. I enjoyed this so much I bought a second copy for a friend. Inspiring, entertaining and honest.

  5. Whatever your spiritual bent (or even if you are bent about spirituality), this wonderful work is valuable in its wide-ranging subjects, as well as the respect, curiosity and non-judgmental way in which Cathleen Falsani shares these 30-plus people's stories.

There are numerous gems in here...Sandra Bernhardt is a riot---and truly fascinating. Leading off with Bono was a good choice---it hooked me into the next one, and the next one. With more room than her customary newspaper space, Falsani allows the reader into the setting...how an individual carries himself or herself, little moments that reveal so much.

The essay on Hugh Hefner was beautifully done, with sparkling moments, including the one when Hef discovered he was not toe-to-toe with a stereotypical fire-and-brimstone Christian, but an intelligent, thoughtful person yearning to understand what makes others tick, on a spiritual level, and its impact on their public works and whatever remains of their private lives.

Perhaps more than anything else about Falsani, I admire her courageous honesty. When Jerry Falwell died a few months ago, in her Chicago Sun-Times column she admitted that her first reaction to the news was something along the lines of "Good!" She then goes on to explore why that was, and delve into more of her thoughts on Falwell's legacy.

Like Falsani, I am Christian, and like Falsani, that happened to my own initial (but not overall, I should note) response to news of Falwell's death.

But you need not be Christian, or of any particular faith, to benefit from reading The God Factor. As Falsani probes people about such a significant aspect of their lives, any reader paying even a bit of attention can gain important insights into their own choices, the common ground that so many of us share as well as the many differences that go a long way toward making life so interesting.

  1. Chapters are short. Nice read before bed. Good and thoughtful information. Worth the money.

  2. This book offers practical strategies to help readers achieve inner peace in a busy, chaotic world. Each of the 52 strategies are realistic and simple to implement. Dr. Borysenko offers strategies in each of the main areas of our lives including: overall life, taking care of yourself, time, managing your mind, developing compassion, kindness, and clear communication, and creating wisdom and purpose. She offers a specific action for each strategy so the reader can begin transforming their life immediately.

"Inner Peace for Busy People" is definitely worth the time to read.

  3. This lady is slowly turning my life around. Everything in the book is common sense but in today's busy world we no longer think that way. I've gained a new outlook on life and am approaching situations that would normally leave me stressed in a more peaceful way. It has something for everyone.

  4. I WAS REALLY STRESSED OUT, HAVING PANIC ATTACKS, REALLY DOWN ON EVERYTHING AND TAKING MEDICATION FOR ANXIETY. THIS BOOK CHANGED MY THINKING ABOUT LOTS OF THINGS. I BECAME SO POSITIVE ABOUT LIFE AND ITS MEANING THAT I EVEN STOPPED MY MEDICATION AND FEEL GREAT.

    A MUST READ.

  5. INNER PEACE FOR BUSY PEOPLE, written and read by Joan
Borysenko, grabbed me from the moment I saw the title . . . this
was a book that speaks to me, I thought, and I was right.

If you're like me and sometimes feel overwhelmed by the pressures of work,
family and a whole host of modern-day stressors, then this is the
perfect resource for a number of practical tips on how best
to cope with them . . as one such example, perhaps my favorite one:

Keep in mind: Everything is over at the end. If it's not over, it's
    not the end.

Or this one also struck home:

    * Life is not an endless series of tasks that you complain about
    because you're busy.

In addition, I thought this was an excellent suggestion:

    * Make on oxygen list . . . the things you want to make a more
important part of your life. Then choose one item and make a
    commitment to actually do it.

There were many other useful tidbits I gained from this excellent
    program; among them:

    * My good friend Loretta LaRoche asks, "What's the purpose
of getting everything done?" Your tombstone will still say:
Got it all done. Dead anyway.

    * Our goal should be to wake-up on Monday and say, "I'm so glad
to be alive. I can't wait to see what's next."

    * You want to get to a state where the guy in the antique store
says "Let me tell you a story." And you respond, "I'd like to hear
    your story."

And then there was this one that I will attempt to implement
    as soon as possible:

    * To be mindful in he shower, say to yourself, "This is all I will
do. I will plan my day now." Better is for you to savor your shower.

    I'd like to tell you more about INNER PEACE FOR BUSY PEOPLE;
however, I must stop now . . . to take my shower!
