5 comments about On That Day, Everybody Ate: One Woman's Story of Hope and Possibility in Haiti.
  1. I rarely find time to read but when I do, I prefer to read real stories about real people. This is one of the most, if not thee most, inspirational real life stories I have read.

When I sat down to read the book, I told myself I had time to read about 30 pages. But, I could not put the book down and ended up reading it from cover to cover. That hasn't happened since I was a child. In addition to being inspirational, I also found the author's thoughts on how one comes to grips with living in abundance while so many live in extreme poverty, to be very insightful and thought provoking.

  2. Here is a book of great beauty in the truest sense, a brave story with a big heart. Responding to a passing invitation to visit Haiti, the author's "heart spoke and said yes." Her heart had already been blown open by tragedy, which frames this deeply honest and vivid journey into the roots of compassion, and the balance between giving and receiving, as she puts it. The author is called not haunted, and this makes all the difference. Her heart "leaps at [Fr. Gerry's] vision of a food program," which she brings to fruition.

The concept of a "reverse mission" is powerful, since helpers often feel that they have better answers to the big questions than those they are helping. It seems one's heart must be open to appreciate the wisdom in the full range of the human condition, and Margaret's heart truly is.

She has a rare gift to see from different perspectives, with an eye for vivid detail. Sometimes her images are heartbreaking and indelible, like all the scenes from Son Fils, like Cité Soleil mothers giving clay biscuits to their children, like the child playing peek-a-boo amidst chaos and hunger. Some images convey most forcefully the differences between our culture of abundance and waste and the Haitians' respect for their scarce resources: the cotton ball split into quarters, the single jellybean "licked and carefully chewed," the humble paintbrush broken in two used to paint the mural of Christ. Other images are just lovely, like her brother Paul's renaissance-style paintings, the jewel-like fruit salad, and for that matter, all the descriptions of food preparation (what better name for a dessert than poudre d'amour?). In my favorite scene, the women are dancing under the stars. Margaret sees the whole in the broken and the not-yet-built in the Mass at the open-air chapel of St Jude's, in the strong voice of the butterfly lady, in the satisfaction on the faces of the children being fed. That she also describes her son Luke's experiences adds even more meaning and roundness to the account.

Of course she has a keen ear for language too, beginning in the book in the introduction (Osekouuu!), the refrain of the message piti piti n a arrive, and translations of Creole phrases (Have a good moment). When the passage arrives where the title of the book occurs (p. 109), it resonates beautifully. The idea of "what if everybody could eat everyday" has already been ringing throughout the whole book.

Margaret's story grows organically, like her food program. Miracles
aren't "rare and mysterious events that you might miss if you aren't watching closely." They arise from deep kindness in action, and I feel honored to have read such a book.

  3. I can't imagine anyone reading this slim, moving account of the situation in Haiti without being stirred by what one single individidual can do. Margaret Trost certainly hadn't planned to have her life changed by a trip of experiencing the incredible poverty there first-hand. Now the situation after the recent floods is even more dire. I hope many will read this inspiring little book and then think about what each of us might do in some small way. Mimi, Charlotte, NC

  4. The book arrived on Saturday morning and I finished it by the afternoon. I couldn't put it down. How beautiful. How well Margaret articulates the conflicting emotions of our American wealth and the despair and immense poverty in Haiti. The amazing hope and the miracles along the way. The beautiful friendships. I loved the photos. What a gift this book is to open our hearts, minds and resources to our neighbors. I am buying copies to give to my friends. Especially as I coordinate the food pantry effort at our church, I want to share our common mission - it is our "world" community not us and them. I got that so clearly from this moving and intensely personal book. Loved it Must read for all who want to make a difference with others.

  5. Most people consider the tragic, the upheaval, the untowardness of life as unfair, as a time from which they will possibly never recover. Stepping into this unwelcomed space is Margaret Trost.
She didn't want her husband to die in her arms. She didn't want to be a single mother to a five-year-old. She wanted the American dream with perhaps additional children, secure jobs and a future so bright she had to wear sunglasses.
She didn't get it. At least the expectation. But she did get the reality that Good Fridays don't win. Instead of wandering in a wilderness of hurt and pain and fear, she went to a land she knew little about, visited with people whose body language spelled need and decided her life could be more than a good idea. It could be a mission to help others--as basic as feeding the hungry--and the best result of all, help herself.
On That Day Everybody Ate has healthy transparency to the joy and fulfillment that comes from caring. A warning, however. Margaret's reflection, her enthusiasm and energy, are contagious. Don't read this book if you want to keep distance from growing.
A second warning. Once you finish her journey you will most likely lay the book down. Then, because of its power and poignancy and vitality, you'll go back, pick it up, and read it again. This is not a single-read book.

5 comments about The Power of Now: 50 Inspiration Cards.
  1. This book points to so much truth it is amazing.
I think it is well written and written in a way that makes what is very philosophical easy to understand. His message is so simple yet so profound.
I have read many, many books on spirituality and the teachings of the great teachers and none has hit home as much as this.
I think this book could easily guide someone to a life changing way of Being. It has made me want to see the world in a whole new light. I feel enlightened just writing this!!!
    I highly recommend it.

  2. I love Eckhart Tolle's work, his profound messages, and how much of a positive difference they have made in my life. Any time I pick a card from this beautiful deck, it reminds me of the peace and stillness I can have when I am completely living in the moment. Each card brings a wonderful message that is far more than simple inspiration, they are the tools to help you strengthen your inner transformation so that you CAN attain a level of inner peace, and thus be able to share it with others in your personal relationships, you career, your home, thereby making a genuine difference in our world.
Highly recommended for people on the go who could always use the profound wisdom Eckhart Tolle brings us all.

Barbara Rose, Ph.D. author of Know Yourself: A Woman's Guide to Wholeness, Radiance & Supreme Confidence and Stop Being the String Along: A Relationship Guide to Being THE ONE

  3. "Acceptance of what is immediately frees you from mind identification and thus reconnects you with Being. Resistance is the mind." - Eckhart Tolle

The profound truths found in the bestselling book The Power of Now has transformed many lives over the last few years. Author Eckhart Tolle experienced a profound, instantaneous awakening and now shares his wisdom with millions across the globe both in person and through his books and audios.

The Power of Now deck is comprised of 52 cards; the words on these cards were chosen by Tolle to convey the power of the book in a few short sentences. You can pick a card at random to contemplate its message, choose one daily and reflect on it throughout the day, or even pick a card once a week for meditation. Once you've worked your way through the whole deck, profound insights will permeate your consciousness, resulting in more joy and light and less trauma in stress. In fact, it's quite possible your entire life will change as a result of digesting and applying the wisdom found in The Power of Now deck.

The 52 cards are divided into five themes:

    * Rising above thought
    * The joy of being
    * The power of being present
    * The power of now
    * Portals to the now

The cards feature the same green and yellow color scheme as the book jacket, with the theme printed on one side and a piece of wisdom or experiment on the other. The Power of Now deck is encased in a sturdy flip-top box that opens to the side, like a book. Some examples of these inspirational ideas include:

Try A Little Experiment: Close your eyes and say to yourself, `I wonder what my next thought is going to be.' Then become very alert and wait for the next thought. Be like a cat watching a mouse hole. What thought is going to come out of the mouse hole? Try it now.

Wherever You Are, Be There Totally - If you find you're here and now intolerable and it makes you unhappy, you have three options: remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it totally. If you want to take responsibility for your life, you must choose one of those three options, and you must choose now. Then accept the consequences.

Observe How the Mind labels an unpleasant moment and how this labeling process, this continuous sitting in judgment, creates pain and unhappiness.

Are You Worried? - Do you have many `what if' thoughts? You are identified with your mind, which is projecting itself into an imaginary future situation and creating fear. There is no way that you can cope with such a situation, because it doesn't exist. It's a mental phantom.

On a personal note, I have found the profound yet simple wisdom of The Power of Now to be utterly transforming. The insights found in the book and in this deck lift burdens, promotes clarity, and results in peace. Tolle has provided amazing tools to transform your life into one of grace, ease, and lightness. I know it's been true for me, as it has for millions of people worldwide.

(To see 3 card images from this deck, visit the Reviews--Decks section at http://JanetBoyer.com)

  4. Do not get lost in the words that these cards convey. As Tolle would say;"the words are only pointers, they point to the truth, but are not the truth that they point to." Let each card inspire you to go beyond the words and you will feel your Being that is always there yet obscured by identification with the mind.
You don't really need these inspiration cards because you are always already free. You are the deep peace, space and love that you search for. That is already the case. If you are not experiencing peace, sapce, love, a lightness in evrything that you do, feel, or say, then allow these cards to take you to the cliff and then let go of the saftey net. You already are!

  5. I like pulling a card at the beginning of the day. I focus on that concept throughout the day. The cards are an easy way to work with the concepts vs. carrying around the book.

1 comments about The Kindness Handbook: A Practical Handbook.
  1. "It takes boldness, even audacity, to step out of our habitual patterns and experiment with a quality like kindness--to work with it and see just how it might shift and open up our lives. This book is an invitation to do just that." - From The Kindness Handbook

Many of the world's religions teach that kindness is a desired virtue, something to be practiced towards those we love--and those we don't.

In her book The Kindness Handbook, author Sharon Salzberg shows us that kindness is much more than being nice or living altruistically. Kindness involves mindfulness--that present-moment awareness that accepts and allows whatever might be happening at the time, engendering intimacy with our surroundings.

Yet, this doesn't disqualify protesting perceived injustice or taking action to alleviate suffering, but rather invites us to be fully engaged with clarity of mind and openness of heart towards everyone we encounter.

Amid the pursuit of kindness, however, there is one person that often gets overlooked: ourselves. Salzberg maintains that we are often quite harsh with ourselves, more than with any other, participating in self-castigation and lack of faith towards our ability to succeed.

But what are we to do in the face of physical limitation, illness, death and disaster? How do we cultivate kindness not only for all people and the Earth, but also for ourselves? What might kindness look like in the midst of poverty, relationship challenges, dashed hopes or criticism?

The Kindness Handbook paints a gentle portrait of ways to meet each person and circumstance with loving kindness--an approach of ease, curiosity and permission that nourishes our spirit and leaves us emotionally fuller, rather than depleted.

Providing a self-compassion test, thoughtful anecdotes, personal examples and the profound wisdom that arises from awareness, Salzberg creates a sacred space inviting healing, understanding, peace and joyfulness to all who will partake of the living water of kindness and dare to step out of cycles of reactivity.

Here are but a few of the loving passages found in The Kindness Handbook:

    * "Compassion is the trembling or the quivering of the heart in response to suffering. Equanimity is a spacious stillness that can accept things as they are. The balance of compassion and equanimity allows us to care, and yet not get overwhelmed and unable to cope because of that caring."

    * "Instead of thinking that growth and understanding will come from doing battle with aspects of ourselves, or thinking they will come from enmity towards emotions, memories, and longings that we actually can't keep from arising, we discover that kindness and compassion for ourselves is the best and most healing trajectory for transformation."

    * "...painful times can be an opportunity to find out what really is important to us. Pain wears away superficial concerns, leaving us with a powerful urge for freedom, happiness and wholeness of being."

    * "We can explore other ways of seeing: confronting the stereotypes we often hold of anyone who appears to be unlike us, the indifference we assume toward those we don't know. We can examine all the ways we create an `other' unworthy of our care, with people or nature or religions or nations. Doing this will continually undermine the walls of our conditioning has constructed and open us beyond their pain."

My favorite story from The Kindness Handbook involves Salzberg and her friend, fellow author Krishna Das, as they were planning to travel to Hawaii from their separate points of origin to co-lead a retreat. Krishna Das advised her not to try to get to Hawaii from the East Coast in one day, but she decided to attempt it because of convenient connecting flights offered by her travel agent.

Well, Salzberg encounters unexpected delays and begins berating herself for making such a "poor choice". After meeting up with Das in Hawaii, he bemoans at how "stupid" *he* was, because after staying at an airport hotel, he found he couldn't sleep--only snagging two hours of rest before he had to catch his flight.

What a familiar scenario! So many times, we assume that if we had only done X, it would have turned out perfectly: We would have avoided the hassles, enjoyed the sights, gotten the discount, and saved time--the contempt, self-blame and shame starkly evident in our self-talk and feelings of humiliation.

If you're looking to follow a path of kindness, starting with yourself and radiating outward, The Kindness Handbook is a tender, but penetrating, guide to new ways of seeing, doing and being in the world. Caregivers will especially benefit from this book, as will anyone desiring to rise above reactivity, cruelty, or plain old indifference in order to bring peace on Earth and an end to all suffering.

-- Janet Boyer, author of The Back in Time Tarot Book

  1. Awakened Instincts is a staple book that everyone should have as part of their personal library. Simply put, this book is an easy read that will have you turning the pages in anticipation of how you can elevate your senses on every single level. It's enlightening; it's simply Mary O!

Mary O is the real deal all around. She has a unique style that sets her apart from all the rest. Tune into her radio show on Sirius 102 and hear for yourself. I can guarantee you that, after listening once, you will be hooked! Mary O is a truly talented and gifted woman and I can honestly say that I feel blessed that she is here and sharing her gift with the world.

  2. This book is very inlighting and educational. If everyone carried this book around and followed it, we would all get along alot more cordigally and feel great about how we feel as individuals and couples (our relationships with others). There would be less disaggrements and couples divorcing and more communication going on. The chihuahua chapter is one to read over and over. Mary has figured it out for us and you will too by reading this book. You won't leave home without it!
Great Job Mary Thank You -

  3. This book is awesome!!!! This very imformative. Take the keys and open up your life!!!!
I listen to her on the sirrius 102 starz radio.

  4. This is the best book to help you realize your potential and gain direction in life. You don't even have to have any problems to gain insight from Mary's direct, common sense approach to enhancing your life. This is a guide that you will want to read over again a couple of times a year if you want help reconnecting with your purpose. It will help you realize all of the great things about yourself that we tend to forget about with our busy lives. If you have been saying that you need to read more and play on the computer less, then this book will inspire you to start reading again!

  5. I have read all of Mary's books and have enjoyed them all. I loved when Mary gave the advise to say I LOVE YOU to seven people each day. I started saying it to people I wouldn't normally say it to, but felt love for, and it felt so good to say it out loud. Mary gives her love and advice so freely and easily she is a good example to follow for so many. I know I am a better person from taking her advice. Enjoy and spread the LOVE!

5 comments about Entering the Castle: Exploring Your Mystical Experience of God: 9-CD Live Lecture!.
  1. I have only words of gratitude and praise for this particular work of Caroline Myss. Having read her books and listened to many of her other audio lectures over the years, for me this was the most powerful, honest, and uplifting. I did not find any part of this lecture to be "harsh" or "shrill" (as some have commented) -- but instead found her to be at her most passionate. Love radiates from this CD set -- love for Humanity, personal and impersonal. I would recommend it to anyone on this Path who is capable of being sternly honest with themselves, on all levels. A beautiful work!

  2. When I first started to listen to this set of Cd's I almost stopped listening to them. They are so punitive. Yet I found kernels of truth within the words. The book is about Teresa of Avila, a mystic that lived within the confines of the Spanish Inquisition. It is all about getting closer to God. Yet, that closeness is the ultimate sacrifice, giving up any ideas of rewards. I had the impression that I should adorn a hair shirt and rip myself to shreds. There is little within it that is uplifting. If you enter upon this journey according to the author be prepared to suffer, you will not enter a spa. Yet, I continued to listen because there were still things about it that spoke to me. Perhaps it was my southern baptist fire and brimstone raising. It is different and will perhaps teach you how to get rid of the reptiles in your soul.

  3. I couldn't even get through the all the CD's. When she was active as a medical intuitive, then her work shined. It's when she veered off course into subjects such as "grace", that she lost me. I don't need to be scolded and name calling is definitely something that I will not tolerate and if I was to hear her carry on in a workshop like that, well, I'd have to leave. On one of her earlier CD's, I can recall her saying that she doesn't read letters of criticism, so she probably doesn't read online reviews either. Arrogant! No matter. It's the buyer that should beware. She preaches humility but she sure doesn't practice it. I haven't renewed my online newsletter either because of her mean spirited attitude towards her students in general and New Agers in particular, who are her bread and butter, whether she admits to it or not. Her earlier work...love it! Now, though, she's full of herself and I'm going to resist the urge to purchase any more of her work because I know it will just be more of the same angry diatribe and I just do not need it!

  4. The subject matter of this book and CD set is fascinating. However, Myss has so contaminated it with her berating, shrill, negative parent tone I couldn't stand to listen for very long. Worse, as anyone who has studied meditation knows, when you are in a meditative state you are very receptive to what other people say. As a result, I felt like I was being psychicly abused every time I would follow her directions into a deep meditative state and then be berated by her. As far as I am concerned, this is spiritual abuse and until she changes her ways people should stop buying CDs, reading books or attending workshops by this woman.

  5. I've had this CD series since it was released (May 2007), and after listening to the first two CDs--I just couldn't take Caroline's sneering, spiteful rants against her audience.

I've reviewed many of Caroline's books, audios and DVDs and have been a student of her various teachings for almost a decade. So yes, I'm definitely used to her bluntness and questionable "teaching" methods, especially in audio format (it doesn't come out in book form, thankfully).

But the Entering the Castle series stunned me. It just blew me away. I'm sitting there thinking "Oh my God. She's lecturing about mysticism, about closeness with the Divine, about getting rid of so-called 'reptiles'--and then spits out condescending, mean-spirited, belittling, lambasting rants."

After taking careful notes for the first two CDs, I just had to stop. I simply couldn't do it anymore.

So it's been sitting on my shelf all this time. And I'm getting ready to sell it.

As one who has lived a mystic's life since I was a child (it was an archetypal pattern, nothing that my environment fostered--that's for sure), as well as hearing the voice of Jesus since about age 6, I'm quite familiar with mystical visions, voices, revelations and insights.

But this? This stuff sounds like a bitter nun raging against the lack of righteousness among humanity while, at the same time, attempting to teach about the incredible wonder of the Divine, virtues like humility (?!), and intimacy with one's soul. Caroline's God resembles the deity of fundamentalism: angry, capricious, conditional and in need of appeasement.

Your true interior castle is just that: within. And, frankly, no one--not even a supposed mystic--can take you there. You must journey for yourself, exploring each room, appointing it with what matters to you--as well as what scares you--and then confront, accept, and transform what you find there with the aid of Divine strength.

Sorry, but Caroline's offerings are getting worse and worse, especially the audio CDs. If you must, buy her book Interior Castle--but realize that her portrait and experience of Divinity doesn't have to be yours.

For a great audio on Christian mysticism, I recommend Wild at Heart: Radical Teachings of the Christian Mystics by Tessa Bielecki instead.

    Blessings,

Janet Boyer - Author of Back in Time Tarot

5 comments about Joy's Way, A Map for the Transformational Journey: An Introduction to the Potentials for Healing with Body Energies.
  1. I have been seeking and studying in the Personal/Spiritual Growth field for over 20 years and have explored many varied avenues. This book is written at the Intermediate level. It takes times to absorb the material and open to our own "spiritual inner voice", with honesty and unconditional love. After reading the book I was fortunate to attend Brugh's workshop and learn in more depth about chakras, the I Ching, dreamwork, and other spiritual tools. A great read, an honest and insightful teacher.

  2. A very worthwhile book for anyone interested in healing or alternative medicine.

  3. I attended a workshop with this dangerous charlatan. I was truly shocked by what I witnessed. This self-procliamed messiah had an almost hypnotic effect on his devotees. He appealed to their egos by telling them they are the "chosen ones" privy to the wisdom of the "ancient mystery schools." But there's a catch,to be a part of his special circle one must embrace thier darkness. "I am the darkness" is the mantra of those who follow this man. And the results are what you might expect puppet-like people who slump and then stand to attention depending on their master's pull of the string.

  4. I love this book and recommend it to others interested in healing and personal growth. Dr. Joy is a dedicated, sincere, and gifted healer and teacher. His workshops are a source of healing and inspiration for so many. I believe that the negative reviews here stem from an ignorant misunderstanding of the term "shadow", which is a Jungian term for the rejected parts of our personality, which can become toxic if not recognized and reassimilated. There is nothing at all "dark" or sinister about this book or this man. And "kundalini crisis"??? Please! Show me one and we'll talk. Please read this book and expand your healing horizons.

  5. I read this book back in 1984 and totally loved it. I am now rereading it after I have had to take greater responsibility for my health after an extended period of illness. Once again, I am finding it a great read, full of inspiration, and a great guidebook for healing.

  1. When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice for Difficult Times (Shambhala Classics)

For people who are looking for a practice guide that will help them understand the process of observation with rigorous acceptance, integrity and compassion of all that which is observed. This is about finding peace through that process because the heart opens as a result. The opening and openness of the heart are at the core of that peace which we seek. Our incessant wanting is only satiated by an open heart. It represents a mature emotional and spiritual approach in understanding what we want and how we gain peace. Perhaps a truly fully open heart receives (perhaps even attracts?) what it wants because it cherishes what is.

  2. I am new on those buddhism staff, so I became to realize that you never end reading and learning from this sort of books.

Altough some terms results difficult to understand to me, It became a valuable source of advice.

  3. Pema Chrodon's work is, as always is an insightful read about human nature and emotions and how we come to term with those emotions. I found the focus on the bodhichitta and the different sayings fascinating as well as enjoying further revelations about Buddhist beliefs and spirituality. All of what she writes is applicable to living life and facing the fears any of us could face.

The only reason this is a four instead of a five is because you can find a lot of what she writes in here, in her other works. It still makes for good reading, but reading one of her works seems to get to heart of all of her writing.

  4. I loved this book -- it's practical and prescriptive. I applied her advice into both my personal and professional life. Next steps -- I will read her entire collection.

  5. I love listening to this tape. I put it on and start it over again when it is done. I find it totally inspiring to listen to the writing of this wise Buddhist monk.
My only criticism is that the woman who reads the book (beautiful voice, by the way). She pronounces the word "strength" omitting the 'g' sound. This was horribly annoying to me. I grew up pronouncing the 'g' and it sounds prissy and pompous to omit the 'g' sound.

5 comments about The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity: A Simple Guide to Unlimited Abundance.
  1. This is a great book. I listened to it first on CD and loved the author's chatty wisdom. I bought the book so I could refer back to it often. A small book but full of very important spiritual laws.

  2. I heard it many times before - tithing will demonstrate to the universe that you trust that there will always be more.... yet I never did it. That is until I read this book. What made it easy for me where 2 things, one Edwene didn't tell you where to tithe to, other then wherever you are spiritually fed.... well that makes it easy. The second point was - try it out for 6 months - if it didn't work for you you can stop.... well I was hooked after 2 weeks. Now I receive money and I am excited about sharing it with whoever inspired me ~ fed me spiritual food... my children, my church, Edwene, a speaker, a song writer, etc. This book has touched me deeply.

  3. I absolutely LOVED this book! I've been reading several books about attracting prosperity, but they were all lacking one thing. That one thing is how God is involved. This book finally connected the two for me. I now see how you can attract prosperity and still honor God. What I appreciated the most what the difference between "go" signs and "stop" signs. Sometimes I get confused on what God is trying to tell me. I recommend this to all those spiritual people that are still trying to find guidance.

  4. Listening to this CD, with Edwene's pleasant voice along with hearing her life experiences, is a pleasant alternative to music. I'm listening to it for the third time and considering looking for more CD's from this production company.

  5. If you are looking for a book that uses current lingo that is so easy to understand then this is the book for you. Like me you have probably read the prosperity Masters and yes, the lessons are timeless, however to read modern day examples are priceless! I felt as if I knew Ms. Gaines personally. Her stories were hilarious, thought provoking and a blessing to my life. I dare you to try the first law which is tithing and watch something miraculous happen in your life! We all have read or heard about tithing but Ms. Gaines breaks it down like its never been broken down before. I was so moved I tithed to her for writing this classic! Don't pass this book up! Every seeker needs this one in their prosperity library!

  1. I will have to say that I do not believe that problems are illusions or can be treated as such, for that is treating the symptoms and not the cause. I think what Dr. Dyer is trying to say here is that we do tend to make too much ado about nothing. Dyer presents love, peace and hope in many different ways to reach many different people. He is sincere and his empathy with the human condition is real. I agree that God is from infinity a part of us, rather than trying to connect with him.

  2. All of these spiritual self help books can be helpful to some and not, to others. I have always regarded Wayne Dyer as a populizer. I have not heard much that is original from him but he has a good nose for digging out gems of wisdom from other sources and bringing them to the general public in a way that most people can relate to. This is a true service.
I admit, here, that I have not read many of his later books, read some of the early ones and have seen him many times on public tv.

I picked this up in the library and found a lot that was genuinely useful to me. Much of it was a rehash of what I'd heard elsewhere but put in a new way that stuck me differently. I like all of the illustrations of how he and others have put these principles to work.

At times, though, I felt he was just grinding out another book, cuz that's what he does. Maybe he just needs a better editor or maybe he's so popular now that they let him write whatever he wants to. I thought that he made some of the statements too blithely--like making things seem too easy. Like "affirm your faith over your doubt" "give up fighting your problems" "you cannot have God and have faith too." As one who has tried for a lifetime to live by such principles, I don't find it always that easy.

  3. This is a very good book, very helpful. Have read other books by Wayne Dyer and enjoyed them also.

  4. First two chapters were very good, third chapter OK, the rest of the book
was just painfull to read. Author gives you irrelevant info about whom he knows and places he went to. His EGO is all over the place. On the top of it, he suggests you to actually "Replace" negative thoughts with positive ones. While reading this book, you just know that it is not it without thinking about it, if you know what I mean....

  5. None of Dr. Dyer's books have let me down. This easy to read (like he's talking to you) book opens doors of hope and positive energy. If you or someone you know is searching for some personal relief, get this book; read, re-read, reference and treasure.
