5 comments about The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself (New Harbinger/Noetic Books).
- After I finished reading this book, I purchased other copies and gave them to people I really care about. They have since done the same for others. If you are going to read one book of this genre this year, this one is it. What I loved most is the simplicity. The message is concise, and to the point. A quick read, not to be missed.
- "The Untethered Soul" is a wonderful book containing some difficult Spiritual concepts that are so well written that they are easily understood.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is on their journey to their Spiritual path.
- As Singer described the crazy mind (our inner roomate), I found myself laughing through the the first 50 pages of this book. I realize that my laughter comes from the deeper self which observes the mind.
I recently read Eckhart Tolle's "Power of Now" and "A New Earth". Singer's book is a great adjunct. I highly recommend this book.
- The search for Truth can be so convoluted, so complex, and yet, Michael Singer points out that it is rather simple. Truth transcends dogma, creed, relentless searching and, most importantly its source is within us, waiting for simple choices to be made. This elegantly simple book presented itself to me when I was looking for a different book, and after reading the first paragraph of the first chapter I bought it. It is laser-like in its focus and clarity. His prose is simple, direct and practical.
One of the teachings of Buddhism is that "When the student is ready to learn, the teacher will appear." Perhaps that is why this book stands out for me--it was a message I was ready to hear, and its transformative power is remarkable. There are no elaborate skills to master here--you just keep returning to the simple lessons he provides and in a short period of time you feel deep changes taking place. He explains how the psyche works, why we do the self destructive things we do, and how we untangle the intricate web of false assumptions we operate out of that keep us in fear, anxiety and confusion.
Notice all of the 5-Star ratings. This is one to read over and over again...
- I gave this book to all of my friends. Singer gives the reader perspective to "let go of the little things" and truly live in the moment. Now to put it into practice...

5 comments about Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow.
- Very simply, Elizabeth Lesser is an amazing teacher and story teller. Some day I will take one of her workshops in person.
- This book was recommended to me by an acquaintance. While it has a decidedly Buddhist tilt to me, as a Buddhist, it is filled with bittersweet, tender stories of pain, emergence from struggle or devastation, and rebirth with wings aloft (as in the mythical story of the phoenix which is prominently featured in the book). The book reads easily and captivates you page after page, leading you onwards and upwards in the author's marvelous and insightful journey through darkness into light. Death, illness, divorce, almost every dimension of the human experience is covered with the author's deft brushstroke, generating that occasional feeling when reading a wonderful book of having read something enlightening and meaningful.
- I'm not at all into self help books....but this is one i'm glad i tried out.
So i do highly recommend this book to others skeptical of the self help genre.
It's one I didn't even feel i needed to hide... :)
- one of the few books on self improvement and growth that is readable. it is fast, insightful and useful. I read it at a time when things we going great for me and I had no idea how bad they were going to get. Some of the stuff in it came back during hard times and gave me strength and hope. I would definitly give this book a chance. personally i think books such as these, come to you. u shoud read them if u can relate to them, or else u will get bored or feel they r useless.
- "Broken Open" is the first book I read after losing my husband. Indeed, I felt broken open, so it seemed an apt buy for me. I really appreciated the honest, open tone of Elizabeth Lesser's style of writing. "A heart made crooked through loss and change is a heart that can love the world and its less than perfect people." So true. After you lose someone, you appreciate so much more what you have. You're less willing to waste time on the petty and look for the more enriching experiences in life. Change, as difficult as it is many times, brings those experiences. Life is so much more if we're open to receiving it. Elaine Williams

5 comments about The Power of Infinite Love & Gratitude: An Evolutionary Journey to Awakening Your Spirit.
- You don't want to miss this book. As some saying goes, "You know what you know. You know what you don't know. And you don't know what you don't know." This book introduces you to material that may open you up to ideas and concepts that you never conceived. Thought viruses, interconnections of meridians, chakras, emotions leading to subconscious holding patterns in the body, mind and spirit and much more. It is simple, yet complex and thought provoking. When I first bought the book, I read it from the index in order to look up areas that were of great interest to me. Ultimately I did read it from cover to cover. I recommend this book to assist you on your "Journey to Awakening Your Spirit."
A special THANKS to Dr Darren Weissman for the gift he has give to mankind.
- Yes, yes, yes...there can never be enough out there on the importance of living life with gratitude.A great book that brings home this message in an easy-to-read and enjoyable fashion. Also highly recommended is Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook, a practical and daily way to incorporate these principles into one's life.
- i trudged through the whole thing, waiting for the explanation of the Lifeline technique. as i got closer and closer to the end, i realized that it was not coming. the author gives anecdote after anecdote of how the Lifeline technique heals people, but he never explains how to do the technique. read Louise Hay instead.
- Imagine, Believe and Be: The Blueprint for Creating Your Life
The Power of Infinite Love and Gratitude is amazing........... I've been a Bodywork Therapist for 25 over years and I can honestly tell you that "The LifeLine Technique" is the most complete and profound healing technology I have ever witnessed. There is no limit to the healing power of Infinite Love and Gratitude. Any aspect of the mind, body or spirit can be healed and harmonized by utilizing this incredible technology. I highly recommend this book if your searching for health and balance in your life.
- Weaving together the latest scientific discoveries in the field of energy medicine with ancient healing traditions and arts, Dr. Darren Weissman has created an exquisite reflection of his own passion for bringing peace and healing to the world -- one person at a time.
This clearly written work is simple enough for any interested novice to understand and utilize, and in this simplicity, experienced healers will discover the powerful depth of it's potential.
You will discover the individual elements which Dr. Weissman has masterfully and elegantly combined to create his unique healing modality, The LifeLine Technique. This technique utilizes the energy of Infinite Love and Gratitude to facilitate immediate energy shifts in your body and in your life, creating the opportunity for deep healing, expanded awareness, and greater life choices which allow one to see the unlimited possibility truly available to us all.
As mentioned in earlier reviews, this book does not present the step-by-step process for executing this amazing technique. It does however present all of the underlying principles the technique utilizes, describing why they are used and what their connection is to uncovering the emotional blocks which prevent us from living our most passionate, joy filled life.
Whether you are interested in connecting to yourself in a deeper way, or are already companioning others on their journey of awakening, discovering the LifeLine Technique and the simple and magnificent power of Infinite Love and Gratitude will enhance your life, and the life of this sacred planet and every being living here.

5 comments about The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book.
- Put down the other books, cancel your life coach session and buy this book. This is pretty much the basics of what you need to know about the rules of the road so to speak. Granted it's simple--but that's the beauty of it.
The Four Agreements are:
Be Impeccable With Your Word
Don't Take Anything Personally
Don't Make Assumptions
Always Do Your Best
Have you ever wished life came with some sort of instruction book? Well it doesn't but this is as close as anything I've seen. This is brilliant flashing insight.
- For anyone who beats themselves up, for what others think or say about them, who question the past, present and future of their lives, this book is a way to keep it all sane. Seems it worked for Alex of the Yankees and it you want it will work for you too!
- The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz is a very practical and eye-opening book. It teaches that by adopting the following four agreements: (1) Be Impeccable With Your Word, (2) Don't Take Anything Personally, (3) Don't Make Assumptions, and (4) Always Do Your Best, an ordinary life can be transformed into a magical one, filled with happiness, integrity and love. I was particularly inspired by the fourth agreement - "Always Do Your Best." Adopting that agreement supported me in being proactive in each moment of my life, regardless of the task at hand and regardless of the outcome. I felt alive and passionate even while doing activities I once thought were boring or mundane.
Another practical and inspiring approach to transformation can be found in the work of Ariel and Shya Kane. Their books: Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: A Book About Instantaneous Transformation; How To Create a Magical Relationship; and Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment, demonstrate how being present in your life, exactly as it is showing up, leads to satisfaction and well being. The touching stories shared by the Kanes are supportive of living a magical life, regardless of the circumstances, and without having to work on yourself. I highly recommend the Kanes' books and The Four Agreements for a simple and practical approach to transforming your life.
- I've been reading through some of the reviews of this book, positive and negative. Of course there are lots of books out there about the same thing. Of course we've heard all this before. But personally, this book actually broke through and made sense to me. Like in those old cartoons where a light bulb turns on over your head. I read this book and it all made sense; I saw what I was doing, I looked at myself honestly and made real changes. I don't know what makes this book different from the others that tell you basically the same thing. I think, though, that it is its simplicity. Don't give people power over you. Not a lot of psychological studies, case histories and boring details. Just simple and honest advice. Take back the power. When people hurt you, you allow them to. You agree to it. Maybe this doesn't make sense to everyone. But this book changed my entire life view and I believe that it will do the same for anyone who reads it with an open mind and an honest vision of themselves.
- The concepts of this book are right on the money. There were a few statements that I didn't quite agree with and at times it gets a little wordy, but it is a quick read. This book is an absolute "must read" for folks who tend to have a little too much drama in their lives and seem to be unable break away from it. If you live with, are related to, work with or manage people who fit this description, recommend this book -- better yet, buy it for them.

5 comments about The Unmistakable Touch of Grace: How to Recognize and Respond to the Spiritual Signposts in Your Life.
- This openly honest account of how Grace touched the life of Cheryl and so omany others is both humbling and an inspiration. Grace works in so many ways often unnoticed in our lives and Cheryl makes the recognition of HOW
Grace is working for us and with us so clear. It also gives guidelines on how to easily get in the flow of the harmony of life with Grace and change direction as we sometimes need to do. Helpful tips for living as a full expression of who you really are.
An easy read and good processes and references for further growth. I highly recommend it even if you feel 'new' to the concepts of Grace and effortless living. It will make sense to all.
- For some reason I had a different idea of what this book would be, but found it interesting and thought provoking nonetheless.
- This book has to rank as one of the top life changing books that I have ever read. Cheryl Richardson relays a philosophy and proven life techniques that will give you a completely new perspective on your problems, daily frustrations and goals in life. Reading this will help lay the ground work for leading a fulfilled, purposeful and successful life.
- I love this book and ordered 3 copies which I promptly gave away to my friends. I'm getting ready to order 4 more.
- This book is really amazing. I still use Cheryl's earlier book, Take Time for Your Life, as a great reference for my coaching practice. Her latest book takes you in another direction by showing you how to recognize and follow the signs of grace - "the recognition that everything is connected and sacred". I enjoyed hearing her personal story as well as that of others in their search for grace. It is a great example of how setting your intentions creates your reality. If that wasn't enough reason to read this book - she provides some great book, website and magazine recommendations. I would highly recommend this book. It could change your life... if you are ready for a change.

5 comments about Stillness Speaks.
- I found this book to be very insightful. It's written very clearly, and cuts right through challenging thoughts. It's 'paragraph' layout makes it easy to read, and fitting for the kind of book it is. I'd recommend it to anyone with an open mind seeking Truth.
- After reading "A New Earth", I wanted more and found what I was looking for in this small book. Short passages give just enough to consider without leading you further than you might be ready to go. I find something new each time I pick it up. It is certainly refreshing.
- If you have ever read other books by Mr. Tolle or are just starting out - this is a wonderful little book. You can pick it up and open it any where and have a quick read - or start from beginning and work your way through. I leave it up to you to decide if the words in the book ring true for you - they certainly do for me.
- Good addition to Tolle's works. Even though I have read The Power of Now and A New Earth I absolutely enjoyed this book. If you need to refresh your self with his teachings or need a little Zen this book will do it. You can open it to any page and bring Peace and Stillness back into your life!
- 'Stillness Speaks' by Eckhart Tolle reminds you that in order to remain in touch with who you really are you must consciously remain in touch with
your inner stillness. In order to do this you are reminded to 'Get out of your head and into the moment.'
Wonderful spiritual insights and practical ways to embrace the teachings by bringing the practice of inner stillness into your everyday life.
This book reinforces and deepens the understanding found in his previous book 'The Power of Now.'
Great for effectively overcoming fear and ending suffering in order to experience peace & joy.
Most recommended and totally awesome!

5 comments about Change Your Thoughts - Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao.
- As a long term student of Taoism, I was somewhat skeptical about an author like Dyer (who I thought of as a very Western self-help oriented writer) giving the Tao te Ching a meaningful reading and discussion. I am happy to say I was very wrong to be skeptical. Dyer writes with an eloquence and erudition that is balanced and accessible without "dumbing down" the subject or insulting his readers.
The essays are best read one at a time and digested, somewhat like other day by day spiritual treatises like A Course in Miracles or the Daily Word or any other where you are meant to reflect and apply the ideas as the day goes on. Following this method was the best way I found to gain the benefit from meditating on them.
Dyer's book works well for someone who knows the Tao te Ching on some level and wants a new way to meditate upon its treasures. The book would work equally as well for someone who doesn't know the Tao te Ching, I would think, as he illuminates certain points which would assist a newer reader into garnering the meaning from the sometimes elusive language this ancient text uses.
The only issue I really have with Dyer's book is the product description which emphasizes Lao tzu as the author and that he came before Christ. For one, I think it is still a matter of scholarly contention as to who the author or authors of the Tao te Ching are. Also, using Lao Tzu or the Tao te Ching's earlier place in history compared to Christ is unnecessary. Its validity stands on its own merit and the comparison was a bit un-Tao-like I thought.
I would not recommend this book as the only study of the Tao te Ching or Taoism, but certainly would recommend it as an adjunct to additional readings on the subject. It's a volume to come back to more than once.
- Dr. Dyer has a knack of learning new directions and sharing them with others. This is a great book.
- Great and easy read. What I got out of this is that you should focus on the present and be conscious of your day. As the title suggest you can change your life by changing your thoughts, positive thoughts. This so reminds me of my favorite book on this subject,Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook.
- Once again, Dr. Dyer gets to the heart as well as the mind. I will cherish this book for a long time. A+++
- the book received was as advertized. Seller prompt with delivery.

5 comments about Ghosts Among Us: Uncovering the Truth About the Other Side.
- Fantastic read. JVP was on the Beth & Bill Show, Phoenix, AZ on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, when I got to work I checked Amazon for the book, had it by Wednesday.....sat and read it. It has definitely made me feel calmer about all things around me. A very insiteful read and fascinating adventure. It helped me cleanse myself of some "baggage" and view things with a different "eye". Thank you JVP, can't wait to read your next book. I am going to read "Talking to Heaven" next.....sitting in front of me now.
E Teal
- I want to start this review by stating that I am neither an atheist nor somebody who opposes the notion of the supernatural in general. Quite the opposite: I have always been very open to and interested in near-death experiences, parapsychological phenomena, etc. However, I am very sceptical when people claim that they can see things that are not visible to the general population. Whenever somebody asserts that he or she has a special gift, chances are that their special gift is limited to their ability to fill their pockets without doing real work. That seems to be very much the case with van Praagh. This book is a poorly written amalgamation of anecdotes and old "theories" that every 10 year old is acquainted with these days because they are so omnipresent that even Hollywood regularly uses them ("when you die, there is a tunnel and bright light and a loving superior being" -- oh wow, really, I've never heard that one before). And of course anything preternatural that could possibly happen to a person in their lifetimes has happened to van Praagh.
Lastly, van Praagh constantly emphasizes his mistrust in the Catholic Church -- I am Catholic and offensive comments about a religion that's 2000 years old from a guy who thinks that Buddha and Luke Skywalker have had equally positive influences on humankind seem kind of inappropriate.
Sorry guys, but if you want solid, well written and well researched books about life after death etc., grab the classics, i.e. Dr. Moody, Elisabeth Kuebler-Ross or Scott Peck.
"Ghosts among us" is completely useless and obviously another attempt to cash in -- shame on me for having contributed to van Praagh's bank account.
- James has a way of bringing the afterlife to feel like we are already there, we just aren't aware of it. YES there is a Heaven. I feel so much more confident knowing I have a true purpose in this life, as I did in many other lives. Thank you, JVP, this book puts a lot of worry to rest.
- I'm not much of a 'reader' -- but this is an excellent book. It offers peace of mind about the 'death' of this life and comfort in knowing there is more waiting for us......
- I really learned a lot from this book. I loved all of James Van Praagh's books, but this was the best one yet.

5 comments about Soul Wisdom: Practical Soul Treasures to Transform Your Life (Soul Power).
- Just loved the theme of this book that in order to have personal transformation you must focus on your soul. You must love oneself before any healing can take place. This brings to mind The Secret (the Law of attraction) principles where you must be happy within inorder to have happiness outside. A wonderful workbook addressing these themes is Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbookwhich gives you exercises to show you how.
- I would like to take this opportunity to talk about the soul enlightenment retreat with Master Sha that just finished around June 28th, in Saint-Sauveur, Canada.
The experience that I had is surely beyond words. Every part of the retreat occurs on such a deep level that it is difficult for the logical mind to comprehend. I am so grateful for what Master Sha embodies, and brings forth to the world. My experience was one of deeper and further connection to Master Sha, the divine mission that he represents, and with life altogether. To be with Master Sha is to breathe deeper, lighter, and easier. It is the most heart-touching experience to be in his presence, if you let it be. Master Sha, and the retreats that he hosts, will heal, and bless, and transform you as much as you let them. Stay open to yourself, to the flow of life, to Master Sha, to God. Everything has a perfect time and place, and when you chose to follow this great path, you find that perfect time and place is here and now with Master Sha, and with all of your reality. Follow the call to be at retreat, where all of this unfolds in a week, and in every moment.
- Soul Wisdom is full of easy and practical knowledge and exercises that are fun and rewarding to do.
Reading this book has been fun for myself and my family members to practice together. Even my little grand daughter is enjoying soul tapping and she is only seven, and my grandson is five.
We are soul dancing and tapping our bodies as we dance around the room to the cd enclosed in this book. It has brought us laughter, and joy. What a wonderful experience for our family.
My son who spent time over in Iraq is eager to use the wisdom and treasures within this book, to bring healing into his life and others around him.
We love the fact that you are able to download treasures directly from the book, and then use them right away.
Next we will try to bring out our soul language and eventually translate for each other. It has been a freeing experience to know you can let out such funny sounds and it will all make sense after awhile. We are excited and looking forward to our next practice session together.
Thank you for bringing this book to the world.
With love and gratitude from my family to yours.
Jaylene Hamilton
- Every sentence takes on a life...this then transforms & evolves each time you read. This book is definately one of those treasures to be read & re-read. The ultra practicle gifts & practices revealed in it's pages grow with the practitioner/reader. To my amazement & delight, I find this book to be a great source of comfort & keep it close, randomly checking for messages & using it as a healing tool. What I resonate with the most is...that the wisdom in these pages belongs to & is "familiar" to everyone! Developing your special relationship to yourself, others & the source. No dogma...only pure wisdom & pure love.
- Master Sha continues to share profound healing and transformational teachings and techniques
seldom or never presented to the public before. Additionally, the instruction and techniques
within the treasure called Soul Wisdom are beautifully presented and easily absorbed.
This new paperback edition of Soul Wisdom comes with an incredible, blessed partner;
a CD for Brain and Spinal Column. The importance of brain and spinal column enhancement
is well-understood, and in this era of hectic living and brain overload, this rejuvenation CD is
a gift beyond measure.
My experience with this CD has been both blessed and mult-faceted, including incredible
waves of joy, peace, relaxation, enlivening of the thought process, and increased energy and
confidence. The combination of the life-transforming teachings within Soul Wisdom and
the remarkably healing CD make this duo a priceless package.

5 comments about A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose (Oprah's Book Club, Selection 61).
- I have been involved with Buddhist thought and meditation for a few years now and despite the comment of some others, I found a lot of value in Eckhart's Book. Yes, it seemed to me that much of what Eckhart presents is basically Buddhist in nature but, reflecting back to my earlier work with Christianity, I could also say Eckhart's work presents basically Christian views as well. Okay, perhaps not Christianity as it is taught by many churches today, but perhaps as Christ intended it in the first place. Taking this further, if one believes there is a fundamental truth, than all honest seekers of that truth, no matter what religion they begin with, should eventually end up in the same place. Even though my first thougths were similar to some of the reviewers (this is just Buddhism), I soon realized that was my ego trying to fool me into thoughts of superiority and that, in reality, no labels such as Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, etc. actually have any importance of meaning when searching for truth.
Another of my initial thoughts on the book was "Ah, this is Buddhism for Westerners." I think that still applies as Eckhart's book did very much help me better understand some Buddhist concepts that were partially escaping me.
So my advice to everyone no matter what faith you are, calm your egos. Some Buddhists are bound to say "Buddha is better", some Christains, "Christ was God (and Better)", some Jews (Moses and Abraham were better", so on and so forth. But actually such thoughts make no sense as there is nothing to be compared, it isn't a contest, and the label one applies to truth is of no importance.
As far as Eckhart's ego, I really have not sensed much ego here. We must all remember that Eckhart is only human though. Therefore, just as many of the apostles were far from perfect, don't expect Eckhart to be immune to human failings from time to time. I'm not trying to put Eckhart in the class of a prophet, I assure you, and there is no need to do so. All that is important is that you get out of it what you can, if anything.
I agree that Eckhart's teachings are in danger of becoming the next fad wherein yuppees sit around at starbucks exchanging their enlightenment stories but that is a comment about humanity not Eckhart's teachings or ideas. And I also agree that I don't think Oprah has actually experienced much in the way of enlightenment despite how she might act or speak. However, she is doing us a service. Humanity is in need of a chnage of their state of consciousness and this book can help some. I suspect most will consume it with their egos just as humanity has largely done in the past. Only a few will truly engage in the work necessary to change their state of consciousness. It involves a lot of up front sacrifice for most. I am still very much in the struggle. But I think Eckhart's book, "The New Earth" is excellent and well worth the read. If you want to get something out of it you can. If you let your ego say, "This book is an insult to Jesus, God, Buddha, Mohammed, Abraham, Moses, etc., etc., etc.," you can do that to and you'll probably only be angered by the book.
Like always, it's up to you.
- Ok, so it may not be Buddhism repackaged, but it definitely is Spiritualism repackaged.
The basic information and the Spiritual Laws reflected are worth knowing, but the book is bland. According the the author, if you don't derive benefit from it, it is the reader's fault. Gee, Echkart, I'm sorry I didn't live up to your expectations.
I wouldn't consider the book a waste of time, but it lacked a fresh perspective to separate it from the pack.
- Book arrived in great shape - haven't finished it but it sure looks very good :)
- after reading this book, i am now aware when i speak and present myself to others. many people do not realize but during the course of a day, when we speak and present ourselves without thinking, the results actually bring people down instead of lifting people up. we speak negatively instead of positively. we try to get ahead of people thinking this will get us ahead in life when in reality, we get ahead by just working with effort and with an inner purpose. most people do not even know they are impacting others negatively. there IS a different way to live which does result in joyous living. A NEW EARTH presents in chapter 1 why the change is necessary. chapters 2,3,4 really show us how we should NOT be treating others, by using our (egos). chapters 5,6 show us how we 'vomit' all our troubles (pain bodies) on other people who really dont even want to hear this info to begin with. these chapters also show how communication is a two way street and that persons pain bodies flow right back to us, each energizing each other building negativity. chapters 7,8 guides us as to who we really are and to recognize our own inner peaceful space. chapter 9 guides us to what our inner purpose in life is. chapter 10 completes the enlightenment process by identifying that the each day can have the best chance for happiness if we live by utilizing the qualities of acceptance, enjoyment, and enthusiasm. if only everyone was awakened to enlightenment, we would all spread peace and joy rather than spreading our pains and needlessly competing with other egos. the earth would then be A NEW EARTH.
- Tolle takes an insightful and well-read view of humanity in this incredible book. His clarity of thought and in writing draws the reader into the wisdom of the ages. Whether using world religions, the social sciences or plain everyday common sense, he explains humanity in a way that challenges the reader to be their best person. I use it as a guide to simplifying the craziness of the hectic workd in which I live. A must read!
