4 comments about Just Who Will You Be CD.
- The name of the book is "Just Who Will You Be?" and the cover art is a balloon, but honestly doesn't that balloon look more like a sperm cell than a balloon. How absolutely appropriate for a book about commencement, about who you will become, a sex cell may be the last time that those questions are still unanswered.
- I donated this cd to the local community college's Adult Education program! It's a wonderful short piece that can change a life!
- This is a wonderful thought provoking, life altering CD narrated by Maria Shriver herself. I was never a fan of Mrs. Shriver when she was a news anchor. She is a wonderfully articulate author and narrator. Mrs. Shriver asks as always the relevant questions necessary to get one thinking!
- Enthusiasm for all. She's found the "You" for her to be and you will discover your "You". Enjoy this must read. She is such a wonderful person to encourage us all to at least "think" and "do". Inspiring to say the least. Be yourself!!!

5 comments about My Husband's Affair Became the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me.
- I ordered this book after my husband of 35 years told me he was having an affair and I didn't know where to turn. It offers some very useful information and advice and helped me make some important decisions. The only thing I would find negative is that this couple was able to reconcile and make their marriage better and of course that isn't the case every time. Since this is their personal experience though, it probably wouldn't be appropriate to include stories on those who weren't able to stay married.
- I bought this book because I was searching for some hope that people make it through affairs.
If you can make it through the first two thirds of the book the ending is actually not too bad. The first two thirds are heavy with religion. Anne does not eat for the first two weeks after she finds out about her husbands affair as she is 'fasting' for religious reasons.
I think she was developing an eating disorder. How ridiculous to not eat for two weeks. It is dangerous and irresponsible for someone with children to take care of.
If you are into God you might find this book readable. If you are not I would give it a miss.
If you are looking to repair a relationship after an affair I would recommend - Infidelity: A Survival Guide by Don-David Lusterman & NOT "Just Friends": Rebuilding Trust and Recovering Your Sanity After Infidelity by Shirley Glass. Both of these books talk you through the steps required to move on and understand why affairs happen.
- No person who has not experienced a partner's unfaithfulness, can begin to understand the incredible pain, humiliation and loss of dignity this brings about. Even the person causing the pain cannot truly understand what his or her actions caused, until he/she reads "My husband's Affair became the best thing that ever happened to me". It is only through reading both Anne and Brian's account of their feelings and emotions that one can learn that each of us, no matter how different, will experience similar emotional pain and often react very similar under these circumstances. The persons causing the pain often have similar reasons for doing what they did.
This book is a must for everyone who goes through such a horrible experience. It helps one to know that our reactions are quite normal and not as the "guilty" party often tends to think, abnormal or over the top. Pain is pain and healing takes time. There is a lot to learn about oneself and one's partner in this book. Read it, ask your partner to read it and find a good councilor to talk to. You too can save your relationship.
Hats off to two courageous people who shared their pain with the rest of the world!
- I saw Anne Bercht on Oprah. I thought the programme was extremely helpful so I bought the book. The show pointed out that a lot of affairs happen when a marriage seems extremely healthy. This was a big surprize to me.
Generally Anne and Brian had a very good marriage and nice children, you wouldn't have thought that anything would have damaged their marriage. But it happened to them.
The book was extremely gripping because you had the idea that everything would blow over and get sorted quickly, but it didn't, and a lot of drama happened before Brian decided his marriage was worth saving.
This was another surprize that a father could abandon his children and set up with a woman he didn't know that well, and incur huge expenses and pain, when there weren't any major problems like alcohol, drugs, violence or gambling, disability, with his wife or children.
It also showed the horrendous effect Brian's actions had on the entire family. Just when you thought it was unbearable, it became more unbearable.
- My husband had an affair with a married woman while I was pregnant with his twins. I'm not sure it gets worse that that. This book has really helped me understand the process of healing after infidelity through the eyes of a woman that was strong then devastated and has been there. When I am struggling with the pain I think of this book and I know its OK it will pass.

5 comments about Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster.
- The book is written in a simple precise manner, presenting, not way out suggestions, but things that are attainable in our everyday routine.
- This book was invaluable in helping me prepare for first-time surgery, about which I was extremely nervous. One can't help but be positive about the whole experience after reading her discussions about the connection between the mind and the body, and how important this is for healing. To make a long story short, I was completely relaxed and positive the day of my surgery, whereas, without this book, I probably would have been hyperventilating or would have been a no-show. I also bought the excellent guided-imagery tape that goes along with the book, which can also be used just for learning general relaxtion techniques.
- I found this book very easy to read and extremely valuable in preparing for my surgery. Using her advice, I made my own tapes to listen to during my surgery. I have felt they were a major contributor to my remarkable outcome. I healed very quickly and felt positive after surgery and I believe this is due, in part, to what I learned in this book. I would recommend this to anyone getting ready to go through a surgical procedure.
- I heard about the book, Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster, from a medical blog a week before I was scheduled for abdominal surgery. I ordered the book not realizing that the audio recording was an integral part of the preparation. I rush ordered the disc and was able to use the meditation just a few days before surgery. I also was able to listen to the recording in pre-op, in the recovery room, and during my recovery in the weeks that followed. I was much calmer going into the operation and in the days after surgery I felt I had an important part to play in my recovery.
My surgeon and anesthesiologists were very cooperative and followed the suggestions the book recommended during the surgery. After the operation, my surgeon admitted to being skeptical at first, but felt that I was recovering faster than anticipated, that the program helped. I spent less time in the hospital (anticipated 5-7 days I was out in 4) and was on less pain medication than expected. Primarily the suggestions in the book helped me to engage my mind in healing rather than in causing me anxiety.
I would recommend this book and CD to most people, those who are open to the mind/body connection. Others I have spoken to about this program were more reserved, and may not benefit as much. They seem to be heavily invested in the attitude that we are passive in the healing process. Note however that my surgeon, skeptical at first, was impressed by the results.
- this book was recommeded to me before my surgery. i read it within 24 hour. it was a BIBLE on what to think about, what to do, what made sense and how to take care of the most important thing during this process - myself and what would make me comfortable. it gave me permission to let go of feeling obligated to have my family around, and choose those who would provide the support i needed. in addition the book provided affirmations for use during the surgery....highly recommended.

5 comments about The Secret of Letting Go.
- I have read hundreds if books in a similar vein over the past few decades, thought I'd heard it all...but Guy Finley has truly surprised this jaded New Yorker with his simple yet to-the-point ways of expressing these not-so-simple truths. Love his stories, his analogies, his metaphors, so much so that I have ordered all his other books for myself and friends. What a treat, just when you think there is nothing new under the sun on this topic, Voila, it appears...why didn't I find him sooner? I would have saved lots of money on other books to say nothing of my aging eyesight!
- This is the most horrific self-help book I have ever ran across. The writing style is difficult to even read. Seemingly insiteful sentences and paragraphs are nothing but gibberish. It is like listening to a bhuddist monk that has had way too much to drink. There is no logic in the progression, interjections and points seem tangential. The stories he uses as analogy are pointless, far-fetched, and nonsensical. I kept returning to the book in the hopes that it would start making sense, or even become readable, and I made a concerted effort to 'stay with it', but eventually just tossed it into the Goodwill pile, saying 'enough is enough'.
- This Book has been a Miracle for myself and so many of my loved ones.
It provides the One Answer that will always change your inner (spiritual) conditions for the better. You can always Let Go, and let silence show you a new life without it.
In a world of Hype, Pop-Psychology, and Spiritual Sensationalism, It is a breath of fresh air.
If you are tired of Spiritual Entertainment, Promises and Crowd-Pleasing Hypnosis - This book teaches you how not waste your life, and also how to Work. Spiritually. Productively.
I hope you are one of the lucky ones, that is starting to suspect that the real "secret" is to not NEED any form of control, to be at peace with your life.
Everything else that can come, will come, naturally.
I wish you good fortune on your true path. Get started today.
- It is soooo true: when we change the way we see the world, our world changes. SO VERY IMPORTANT to let go of all the self-limiting thoughts that hold us back from all the joy waiting for us. This book andLiving The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook show you how! Thank you.
- I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend and I have not read it yet.

5 comments about Five Simple Steps to Emotional Healing: The Last Self-Help Book You Will Ever Need.
- In my life I have had many ups and downs. From seeing my life flash before my eyes when i choked on a corn dog...to now being a needy man who has a passion for female self help books. I picked this up to change my life and what do u know it has. Now after being released from the asylum i will never need a self help book again!
- I've been using energy tapping for several years. I went through two of Gary Craig's courses, then began buying books on the subject for further (and different) information. Gloria Arenson's book is simply the best. The reviews here cover most of what I was going to say, so I'll just add a paragraph.
First, the author lays eveything out in a clear, friendly, useful way. Second, she gives helpful examples instead of miraculous case histories. Third, she makes difficult exercises palatable. For instance, I have a hard time sincerely declaring forgiveness for childhood abuse; it never feels honest. But Gloria Arenson, in this neat little book, gives the option of saying something like "My happiness and well-being are no longer dependent on my mother's approval," which is much easier for me to say than "I understand my mother did the best she could with what she knew, so I forgive her."
Little things like this make Five Simple Steps unique. If you're interested in energy tapping, buy it! I ordered a copy for my husband so we can each brightline our own favorite information.
- Having purchased and watched the DVDs from Gary Craig regarding the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), I was curious as to whether Ms. Arenson's book would bring any additional insights into applying it; it certainly did. I particularly liked the large number of real-world examples that she cites. If you are interested in a highly practical book about applying EFT to address all sorts of issues, I highly recommend this one.
- After reading this book I finally feel confident enough to use EFT, or "Meridian Therapy" as the author prefers to call it, by myself! The book lays out the process in a very clear, concise and friendly manner. This is accomplished in the first 50 or so pages. (For instance, the locations of the tapping points are shown more clearly than I've seen anywhere else.)
The rest of the book provides more in-depth examples and case studies, to assist in making it even more easy to understand the process.
This book gives you more than the method; it also boosts your self-confidence so you more easily get started on the journey. Very strongly recommended!
- I'd just like to echo the positive reviews. The author explains different types of Meridian therapies (I started with Gary Craig's EFT) and simplifies the process. It helped me to make sense out of the concepts and methods. Highly recommended and does not take long to read.

3 comments about Become a Better You Journal: A Guide to Improving Your Life Every Day.
- Just like an author writing a novel or a painter trying to decide what colors to use, we as human beings need to sort things out as well and organize them. After getting Become A Better You, a friend of mine suggested the journal. I got it and boy did it help. After taking seven weeks to read the book (that is how it is laid out) and doing the journal, I was amazed at the results.
There before me was a complete restructuring of my life from where it was and where I wanted it to go. I was pleased with the result. I like how Joel simplifies the bible and puts the scriptures in plain text. I highly recommend this to anyone getting Become A Better You.
- This journal helps me keep on a daily track of studying the Bible. It also helps confirms what the Bible says about Christians. I enjoy it and I love Joel Osteem Ministry. Check out his Dad's ministry John Osteen. What a blessing for Christians
- I have really found this journal helpful, lots of stress in my life and it is great to hear encouragement and discover a variety of ways to challenge myself to think in a more positive manner.

- Awesome transaction. Thanks.
- Intelligent, practical, makes Christianity make sense again.
A MUST have for anyone interested in understanding our true relationship with God.
- This book is awesome it just goes a bit more in depth than the other book I read called the Error of Job. Both had the same principle in mind.
- If you are looking to escape organized religions' continuous pajorative thinking and limits towards humanity, Eric Butterworth sums up the writting of Jesus the Christ into what was truly meant! We have all the abilities of Jesus...We simply have to remember the true meaning of Jesus' words. Eric Butterworth sorts through all the religious bias and man dominated thinking of our history, and explains in plain English the exact message Jesus was attempting to clear up about the Christ within us all!
- The book is spiritual yes, however religious NO. There is not one religion or doctrine centered in this writing. In fact, it is about your becoming and remaining connected with GOD. How we work with the power within not without (ie religions) is what makes the difference. The author centers on the life of the Christ not from a religious stand point but as a demonstration of what man is capable of. GOD didn't create Christianity, Buddhism, Judiasm, Islam, Taoism, or any other religion...man did.
I encourage persons reading these critiques to look at what others have written. Our lives are what we make it. Connecting with GOD as our source changes us from being a victim to an individual that has found and helps to create "Peace on Earth".

5 comments about If Life Is a Game, These Are the Rules.
- This book was presented to me when I was already on my deliberate conscious path. If I would have read this book when I first begun my journey perhaps it would have resulted in having even more clarity to work with. But either way, the book is a must read for those who desire to move forward int their lives.

- Wow. This lady does present some interesting ideas. A different way of looking at life but makes good sense to me.
- This is a great book. The used book option is fantastic choice. I have used this option several times and have always been satisfied with the experience.
This particular book is an easy read, and is suitable for most!
- A friend recommended this book, and I must say that I was skeptical at first, because the design makes it looks like a nice little "coffee table" book. I have read over 100 self-help books and feel extremely qualified to rate this book in an educated way.
This has easily become one of the best books on the subject.
I have a habit of highlighting important material so that when I want to go back I can re-read things, and this book is now a MESS of highlights.
I went and read all of the 1 and 2 star ratings, and I frankly can't believe them. All of those people want a book with THEIR rules for life in it, and judged the book on what they wanted it to say. That's what little minds do.
This book is wonderful, and I hope I come across more with such depth.
This is going on my top list- I really think this is a phenomenal book, and I hope the author gets it out to everyone.
- This is a great book. Is there anything new here? Not really however the presentation made good sense and the practicality of the advice was relevant to my own life and it might be for yours also.

- I couldn't wait to get this book and once I did I wasn't diappointed. The book is very well illustrated and descriptive. My husband and I enjoyed what it had to offer. This book is for men and women. And because it was so illustrated I was able to get my husband to read it or at least look at the pictures so he knew what he had to do.
- This book is one of the best I've read in regards to learning more about sensual massage. It's taught me a lot and I'm much more comfortable giving massages now. I bought it along with Sex, Your Woman and You: How to Sexually Please Your Woman in the Bedroom and Beyond and it has been a real benefit to both me and my lady friends.

5 comments about Awakening the Heroes Within: Twelve Archetypes to Help Us Find Ourselves and Transform Our World.
- As a software developer and mathematician presently in my early 60's, ever since I can remember I have always been long on technology and short on "people" knowledge Yet from my early adolescence I remember my dad telling me how important it is to know oneself. While I always agreed with this good advice, whenever I explored my soul, I seemed to fail to come up with meaningful, non-judgemental answers - possibly because my questions themselves were not thought provoking.
Enter Ms Peason and her "Heros Within" book. Her brilliant, accessible review of the 12 archetypes that define our personalities suddenly provided me with a new handle - a key to a better understanding of myself and others. What I particularly appreciated in her book was its combination of a rigurous, scientific treatment of the subject, couched in a language both accessible and devoid of academic circumlucutions. I would reccomend her book to anyone who wants to understand himself/herself better and/or redefine his/her professional and personal life.
- It's easy to forget the good things and focus on the problems. This is a delightful book that reminds us to seek the best in each other and to live with the intention to create a great relationship.
- Carol Pearson, co-creator of the Pearson-Marr Archetypes Indicator, explores 12 archetypes "to help us find ourselves and transform our world." Transformation, in this case, seems to be an inner journey of revising our self-concept, deepening and enriching our ideas about others, and gaining new insights, rather than a program for material engagement with outer circumstances.
Purchaser can take the Heroic Myth Index (HMI; I am not sure how this differs from the PMAI, a proprietary instrument) to find out what archetypes are strongest in you. It is an interesting activity. The description of each archetypes tells about its spiritual journey. Self-growth exercises are proposed at the end of the chapter. As well, Pearson includes useful background information about achieving inner balance. The writing is sometimes a bit stodgy, and I prefer more examples. This is outweighed by Pearson's credentials as a professional whose research has contributed to our understanding and use of archetypes as tools for personal understanding and growth.
- Haven't read it yet, but the the table of contents and a quick review confirm that this is serious and thorough material.
- This is a god book if you want to understand your personality and how to live with yourself and the people around you. In some ways it is like psychology 101. Some chapters are easy to read and understand but others are the kind that take longer to understand. Helps if you have a friend to compare note with.
