5 comments about You Can Heal Your Life Companion Book (Hay House Lifestyles).
- The illustrations in this book really augment the inspirational writings of Louise Hay. She's the queen of the metaphyiscal movement and publishes many spiritual teacher's books. Wonderful woman. She's changed many people's lives. It's so simple to read this as well. The sort of thing that you have by your bedside and flick through before going to sleep at nigh. Everyone should have one of these books but you must be open to the message.
- If I could give no stars, I would. I'm putting this review on each of Louise Hay's titles to warn people who fall into believing that this is a caring, compassionate person. I met her recently at an event and was about to compliment her on one of the books her company publishes that Dr. Dyer wrote for children. Louise Hay was so incredibly rude to me before I even got to open my mouth that I was shocked. The woman seemed to be only about capitalism, power and ego and, though I had been a previous customer of her publishing company, I will NEVER purchase anything by them again nor will I recommend them. I will not give money to someone so ill-behaved, let alone someone who's telling others to be nice when they haven't learned that lesson themselves. Louise Hay, I hope someone on your team shares this with you. You should be ashamed of yourself for being so nasty!
By contrast, I have dealt with the people at Sound's True a zillion times and all of them are as nice as can be and behave in accordance with their products. I spoke with their people at the same event (and others before it) and they were all lovely.
And, no, I do not work for or am in any way compensated by Sound's True. I simply people should know the truth about who practices what they preach and who doesn't. In my opinion, Hay's behavior was one step down from Cruella De Ville. If you're shocked reading that, imagine how shocked I was experiencing it from her.
- I found this book helpful for working out what my subconscious expectations were in different areas of my life (career, relationship, health etc)which was actually quite painful. I was then guided to create affirmations to change my expectations. Highly recommended if you want to do some soul searching.
- i've only done the first few exercises, they are pretty hard for me :D it's actually the hardest work i think i ever done on myself ! well worth the money :D
- As another reviewer said, it is hard work, but worth it. It made me look inward and really take a look at things. I'm glad I went through the work. This was my first book by this author.

- I couldn't wait to get this book and once I did I wasn't diappointed. The book is very well illustrated and descriptive. My husband and I enjoyed what it had to offer. This book is for men and women. And because it was so illustrated I was able to get my husband to read it or at least look at the pictures so he knew what he had to do.
- This book is one of the best I've read in regards to learning more about sensual massage. It's taught me a lot and I'm much more comfortable giving massages now. I bought it along with Sex, Your Woman and You: How to Sexually Please Your Woman in the Bedroom and Beyond and it has been a real benefit to both me and my lady friends.
- This is a great big, almost coffee table styled book. It has great photos (non explicit) that are very helpful at demonstrating the various suggestions. Well worth the price.

5 comments about Your Perfect Right: Assertiveness and Equality in Your Life and Relationships (9th Edition).
- This is such a great book. It was actually one of my text books in college, used in one of my HUS electives.
I gave it to a friend who I thought needed it and then bought two more copies 1 for my personal enjoyment and then a copy for a guy at church that made soup look nervous.
Great book!
- It helped me get to know who I am and how to express my feelings while taking into consideration and respecting the other persons rights.
- This book helped me identify my aggressive behaviors that weren't beneficial and find alternative ways to be assertive. It has helped me consider others without sacrificing my needs.
- Even after assertiveness training classes, I still found value in this book. Wise, practical, with help and instruction! HIghly recommend!
- Assertiveness means a lot in life, and can be the line between happiness and misery for many people. Now in its ninth edition, "Your Perfect Right: Assertiveness and Equality In Your Life and Relationships" gives advice to readers that can help them improve their attitude and personality, and indirectly help them deal with life's many challenges. A seminal guide to those who have let themselves be trod upon for too long, "Your Perfect Right: Assertiveness and Equality In Your Life and Relationships" is a must have for community library collections dedicated to self-help.

5 comments about Dear G-Spot: Straight Talk About Sex and Love.
- In all honesty Zane has surprised me again with this one. She is brilliant, consistent nad focused. This product did remind me those Shombay Kimoni novels he has. You can see the particular novel here:
Dating Detroit
- This book is great. If men or women need help or any questions on how to achieve the greatest orgams, fanstasy, oral sex and other pleasurable things read the book. I mean it really helps people who don't know what to do with their lovers or mates. I really liked the book and Zane once again gives out good advice.
- It's Zane!! What more can I say. This book is very insightful....Zane goes where many would like to but are afraid.. She knows no boundaries and takes no prisoners........Whatever Zane writes I read....Next to the Cosmopolitan magazine...Zane's books are like chapters in Bible written just for women!!!
- I have to admit, I'm not an experienced person. This book by Zane really helps you when you have questions. The entire book is questions from her readers and answers from her expertise. If you ever had questions that you couldn't ask anyone, or never got a straight answer, this book will defiantly help.
- The book was good but very similar to Sex Chronicles with incorporating a series of stories into one topic.

5 comments about When Love Meets Fear: How to Become Defense-Less and Resource-Full.
- This book simply explains the key to happiness. It is to let go of our fears, which is at the root of unhappiness, hate, aggression, apathy, and everything negative in the world. Once we are able to do that, we can open our hearts and embrace each other with love, respect, empathy, hope and forgiveness. It is a simple idea but something very difficult to do because our fears run very very deep within us all. Once we are able to do this to some extent, we try to help others do the same. It is simply the mission of all of our lives, whether we are aware of it or not. When you think about it, nothing else really matters as much. This is what this book tries to help us understand. It is a wonderful message! In another excellent book called "The Ever-Transcending Spirit" by Toru Sato, the author explains how this works in relation to human development and evolution. It shows us how we consciously begin living this life when we are naturally ready for it. These books are absolutely exquisite!
- I cannot say enough good things about this book. I have tried a lot of self-help techniques but the ones contained in this book are unlike any I've encountered.
The biggest lesson I got out of this book is that so many of our problems nowadays occur because we had painful experiences earlier in life but instead of facing them and accepting the ramifications - we chose to lie to ourselves instead. Richo explains the most common lies: life is just, suffering is avoidable, things don't change, etc. I understand from this book that it is much better to just experience those original painful feelings instead of spending your life overanalyzing every minute of every day trying to make the world something it is not.
- In beginning to read the orientation, it turned me off completely when it began with the fear of females. It's so overdone. But hasn't been tackled is the fear of men who have a completely different style when they meet fear, and often become aggressive because of it. Is there any more insulting rejection to a women than hearing, "there are plenty of more fish in the sea?" This proves not only the lack of integrity of the presumed lover but also the lack of mature perspective in appreciating the fact of one so committed and enamored. Just as men prefer to be the "one and only," so also women expect to be the "one and only." The fear of being alone doesn't necessarily produce the anxiety of feeling excluded if the flaws are seen in those who exhibit them, and operate more as malice than rejection. There is a huge difference. Faced with love that is generated within, and not because of trophyism and a misperception of external comfort may be frightening to men because it makes them dependent on the emotional consistency of that secure feeling, and delight in its glory. Fear of loss inevitably follows. But mature love accepts loss graciously in knowing that if love is not reciprocal within the range of adequacy deemed honorable and pure, generated from inside not outside, the result of well considered contemplation of strengths as well as weaknesses, flaws as well as perfections, the result hopefully of a really long and committed second, third or fourth look. Most of the rest is merely the passing of time for lifestyle comfort, and always subject to a tenuous existence, focusing upon quantity not quality of the relationship. It is the reason women wait, and it is the reason men refrain from being steered to other momentary pleasures. Isn't all real love like that?
- Having first read Richo's "How to be an Adult," calling When Love Meets Fear: How to Become Defense-Less and Resource-Full his "best book" is quite a statement. The former is a wonderful and life changing tome that teaches the keys to meaningful relationships with others.
When Love Meets Fear builds on that message with a book expressly on the subject of fear. The root of anger, frustration and stonewalling in relationships, understanding and accepting our fear is our greatest journey in life.
One caution: This book takes many sittings to read properly. I was able to read only a few pages then I needed to put the book down and spend a day or two thinking about what I had just read. Almost like magic, I found myself time and again reading just the few pages I most needed to hear as I worked my way through.
- I have not even read half of this book yet, and I can already say that it has helped me change my self and my life. It has such insight and wisdom in it - I can't say enough about how wonderful it is. I have been working on the issues in this book for around twenty years, and I only wish I had bought it twenty years ago. If you are dealing with any of the problems this book is about (and if you are human, you probably are to some degree), do yourself a favor and get this book!

5 comments about Forgiveness Is a Choice: A Step-By-Step Process for Resolving Anger and Restoring Hope (Apa Lifetools).
- After reading online reviews of multiple forgiveness books, I decided on this one when I was going through a traumatic time in my life. Since this is the only one I read, I have nothing to compare it to. But I read this book cover to cover and found it to be effective in my forgiveness journey.
The book deals a lot with the overall process of forgiveness and there are very specific journal exercises one must do throughout the book. I diligently did all the writing exercises, even though I thought some of the questions were repetitive. And in doing so, you really get to the root of what you are feeling and how to deal with all the emotions you have.
Almost two years later, having completely forgiven the person who hurt me the most, I went back and read those writing exercises. I could literally see the progress over time, how my perspective and feelings changed as I came to terms with what happened, and slowly but surely forgave and moved on. Since there are a lot of writing exercises to work through, this book requires time and patience to complete. But then again, forgiving a deep hurt requires a lot of patience. I recommend.
- Truly an awesome explanation of what forgiveness is and is not. I had harbored resentment for years and my husband and I were actually separated when I ordered this book as a last resort. I accomplished more through this book than I would have in months of counseling. In just a few weeks, I worked through all of the assignments and my heart was completely changed once I was able to take the step of forgiveness. My husband and I are back together and better than ever. Yay! We will celebrate our 28th anniversary this month.
- This is the second book on forgiveness that I have read in one year's span. This book was written by a Dr. in psychology (Robert Enright) and it is formal and very scientific in its approach to the main subject. Dr. Enright is recognized as the foremost authority on forgiveness.
The book is very complete as it has definitions, case stories and a framework that neatly outlines the process of forgiving. This is, most likely, the forgiveness "definitive" book. I will have to reread this book in order to take advantage of all the wisdom contained in it.
- "Forgiveness Is A Choice", is not light reading. It is to be taken seriously as more than a simple self-help pamplet of general info. The book is a complete study and application text book that any college would be proud to have taught by its highest lever psychology professors. The reader must be committed and immerse themselves in the four stages of "anger", "deciding to forgive", "working on forgiveness", and "discovery and release", for forgiveness to really work. Within the book, you will see yourself and be able to identify with characters and situations and be able to find root causes for peoples feelings of anger and resentment. You will see your self, people that you know, and you will see your family. You will not be healed overnight by reading this book. It is designed with logic in mind and makes no ill-found promises either. You will learn that forgiving someone does much more for the giver than the receiver and there is an abundance of "positive" in accepting that you forgave someone. Forgiving is an art that you must learn to be a better you and there is a ton of proof in this book. Honestly, I was surprised to learn how little I knew about the subject of forgiveness, but Robert Enright has shown me the way and put me on the right path of knowledge.
- I can't really say that I am really enjoying this book, but what I can say is, the book is helping a lot. My counselor and myself are going through a chapter a week, staying as long as needed on each chapter and things in the book are bringing up things that need to be talked about. In saying that I have to say this is a very helpful book. Each story is different, most stories are difficult, so don't expect this to be a easy book for it is not. But it is helpful and I fully recommend it!!!

5 comments about The Color Code: A New Way to See Yourself, Your Relationships, and Life.
- This book really helped to open my eyes. I understand why people do the things that they do. it helped me to understand myself and why I feel the way that I do sometimes. I have a whole new "people" outlook!
- The color code is not founded on anything but theory. No tests, no experiments, no psychological research other than Dr. Hartman's personal observations. The information in this book is useless and repetitive. You will be confined to a core motive, and will be stuck with all the flaws and strengths of that color. The book mentions but does not explain how different core motives make a person, and how to overcome personality flaws. Go ask any psychologist and you will find out The Color Code is really Color Crap.
- I am amazed by this book. As I read the chapter on my personality color, I couldn't believe that the author had me figured out down to the very nuances of my behavior. This book has helped me view others with more understanding and forgiveness. You will never look at people the same way again. Every person I know who has read this book can't stop talking about it. It goes down as one of my favorite books ever. Your relationships will improve as a result. This book is a must read for all and a perfect wedding gift.
- I am a Registered Nurse and I was working at a hospital as a "quality assurance utilization manager" when a co-worker gave me this book. I was in the 13th year of my career and had always received great annual reviews from supervisors regarding the quality of my work. After working in this new administrative job for a year I got one of the lowest evaluations of my entire working life - after I had put more time, energy and passion into this new job than I had in any of my previous positions!
After I read this excellent book (back in 1991) I immediately understood the problem: My boss was a "Red" and "Yellow" personality, driven by power and craving focused attention. My personality is "White" and "Blue" so I seek peace and intimacy. Trust me - it was not a good fit! Thankfully I was able to quit my job and become a full-time parent to my two sweet children.
Fast forward seventeen years.....
My children are now 21 and 22 years old and attending college. They have been raised on the "Color Code" concepts and it has dramatically improved the quality of their interactions with family, friends, teachers and other acquaintances. My daughter has an intense "blue & yellow" personality (like my husband) and my son is "white and yellow" - which must be the most laid back personality on the planet! I am not exaggerating when I say that I use the concepts in this book every single day.
Thank you Taylor Hartman for your most excellent book!
- This book helped me realize that I was a Core White with a secondary Blue. That's just exciting.
Now for the real review: I happen to find Hartman's system brilliant. He leaves plenty of room for individuality, but has still managed to find specific characteristics that dominate society and group them into four basic patterns. He also takes care to explain his theory and why it works in real life. With that are plenty of anctedotes of patients with whom he has worked, all that human intereraction to solidify these personalities.
The quiz is easy, but complex and varying, managing to cover many parts of a person. After that are the descriptions of each color, both positive and negative. After that he expands into relationships, work, personal improvement, you name it--the goal of making our individual personalities work. It's all very practical for understanding ourselves and how we work with others.
It's informative, insightful, and just plain fun. Most of all, it's very logical.

3 comments about Understanding Your Grief: Ten Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart (Understanding Your Grief series).
- Enduring the pain of losing a loved one is certainly among life's biggest trials, and there is no "quick fix" for dealing with the grief. Before you can solve a problem you must understand it, so it's helpful to have some expert assistance for such a big endeavor. This book offers a step-by-step guide through the process, answering tough questions, dispelling myths, and dispensing advice along the way. Dr. Wolfelt is a compassionate, experienced and knowledgeable voice who presents his approach to the grieving process logically and efficiently. Ten "touchstones" make up the pathway, labeled with words like dispel, embrace, recognize, and nurture. Taking an organized approach to something like grief might sound impossible, but it may well be a critical part of making it through a very difficult time.
- I love Wolfelt's work and find it very useful information! I have already used several pieces of information from the book!
- Of all the books I've read since my son was killed (and there are plenty), this one would be at the top of the recommendation list for the bereaved to read. It thoroughly covers every facet of grief that one will ever experience along the journey. For once, I had my own worst time of day acknowledged and explained. In our mourning-avoiding society, this book validates and fortifies the bereaved. In addition, Ph.D. Wolfelt adeptly and compassionately shows the way to integrate grief into a positive transformation toward a new life of hope as our loved ones would want us to live.
(Note: Knowing the nature of grief as it is, I suggest this book might be best read months after an intense loss. Otherwise you may find yourself reading each sentence or paragraph over and over trying to make sense of it due to the inherent lack of concentration caused by the severe assault to the mind as well as the heart. Where ever you are along the grief journey, it is never too late to read this book and begin proactive healing.)
