3 comments about Cosmo's Steamy Sex Games: All Sorts of Naughty Ways to Have Fun with Your Lover.
  1. There are 12 different games like truth or dare and sexy scavanger hunt where your partner is blindfolded and you put three different foods of your choice on different parts of your body and he has to find them only using his month. Very fun cards and highly recommended.

  2. This is a great idea for a bridal shower, bachlorette gift, Valentine's day - it doesn't matter the occasion! Get it for yourself, your significant other (male or female) you'll be hard pressed to find someone who's returned it!

  3. My wife bought this as a surprise for our romantic weekend away. Most of the games are not very exciting and they don't tell you ahead of time that you'll need a lot of props. So we couldn't even try half the games on our weekend. The other games are mostly roll playing and questions. This is great if your a young couple who are still getting to know each other in the early stages of a relationsship and what to have some fun. If you've been married for a few years there is not much here unless your totally sexually repressed.

5 comments about The Complete Kama Sutra : The First Unabridged Modern Translation of the Classic Indian Text.
  1. The Kama-Sutra is an entertaining instructional manual, if you like. A lot of the stuff in there of course is ancient, and now will seem quite absurd, as though it was out of a story about witches and wizards cooking up potions and other stuff like that. Apart from that, though, it is quite amusing to see what they came up with.

  2. An excellent informative book.
Must be approached as a religion and not a list of sexual positions.
    otherwise you will be disappointed.

    D

  3. I have read both Sir Richard Burton's translation and this one, and I'm sorry to say that I like this one best (sorry because I have enormous admiration for Burton). It seems as though Danielou's version is much more accessible to modern readers, while Burton's translation is handicapped by the Victorian mindset under which he toiled.

I'd hasten to point out, however, that some of the ideas in this book are no longer viable. For example, biting and scratching are probably not the best means of expressing your appreciation for your partner.

  4. This is a great book my husband is actually reading it with me and he hates to read. It has also improved our marrige and love life

  5. I purchased this book after it being recommended by a friend of mine. While reading it, my husband comments "there sure aren't a lot of pictures. So if you're buying this book for "pictures" you will be disappointed. However if you have an actual interest in the history and meaning behind the Sutra, this books fer you!

5 comments about When Food Is Love: Exploring the Relationship Between Eating and Intimacy (Plume).
  1. I am not known for my reading abilities but this was an "easy" read!
Sometimes, Geneen seemed to go into a lot of "personal" stories that might seem like she was losing tract of the purpose of her book. I was often able to see the reason behind it as she was trying to drive a point across by relating her stories (and others') so that the reader can see the relationship between food and love. Overall, I think there were some very good points that she brought out that I never would have seen or thought of had it not been for this book.

  2. Wow,wow, wow. I purchased this book because it was suggested to me from a friend about a year ago I finally bought it and I am so glad I did. I am a very skeptical person when it comes to self help books, but I have to say this wasn't a self help book at all. Roth makes you truly examine yourself by sharing her story and then asking questions that make you think about why we do the things we do (eat). What feelings are we surpressing? THIS BOOK IS NOT A "HOW TO GUIDE" - it just tells her story and other people stories and I bet anyone could find a piece of themselves in this book. It was funny and light hearted, not drab and psychological. I loved it so much I couldn't put it down and I ended up ordering 2 more of her books - Breaking Free of Emotional & Compulsive Eating.

If nothing else, the book is a great read. I highly recommend it.

  3. Buy this book. Geneen Roth is an insightful writer who gives personal experience along with client experiences to reveal issues of her own yet relate it to others. Excellent.

  4. Geneen has great insight in to why we overeat and what is behind the whole thing.
She uses real life stories from her life and others to help you see that we are not so differant after all and you can change.

  5. My nutritionist gave me this book. Then I bought a copy. Then I bought a copy for five of my friends and family. This book is not about food. This book is about intimacy, fear, grief, and relating to yourself and others in your life. Roth uses her own life experiences and her specific relationship problems and food problems as a basis for this book, but in reading about her own insights, anyone can see themself in this book. If you've ever felt hopeless because you can't keep the weight off, you can't pay down your credit card debt, you can't make a relationship work that should work - this book might help you see how inter-connected your life is. Roth is insightful and writes in a way that is easy to read and draws you in.

  1. i am having lots of fun with this. you get to be really creative and it comes in a spiral book so you dont bend the pages while coloring...10+

  2. These books by Susanne Fincher are fabulous! The written information about each one and the spiral bound form is wonderful!

  3. This product was exactly what I was looking for. As a bonus, there is even an introduction in the beginning that explains mandalas, the meanings behind them and information about colour choices.

    A very cool book.

  4. I saw examples of mandalas on a writing website and the website owner recommended I give it a try. I have spent many relaxing hours working with the mandalas in this book. Exploring with color, focusing on an activity that takes me away from noise of the world and into my own thoughts, feeling "artsy" - what a great experience. It's like adult summer camp! Fun!

  5. This is a great Mandala Coloring Book. The pictures are one-sided so you don't have to worry about them bleeding onto the other side. Great variety of Mandalas. Highly recommend!!!

5 comments about Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul: Stories of Feline Affection, Mystery and Charm (Chicken Soup for the Soul).
  1. My little one is a big cat lover. Although her allergies forbid her to own a cat, this book helps her to receive a better love for them. We have many of the chicken soup books and this one is her favorite. Also.... shop for the book "The Secret" it has some footnotes from this same author. The Secret is a must for children too. Of course, we all want our children to grow up with a world of knowledge, well it starts with what us parents buy our children. Books...Books...Books.... people. Turn Off the TV's...

  2. Being a Lover of Cat's when I saw this Book--it was a "must have" for myself. Each story is true and has its own uniqueness just as every Cat does. It is simply a fun book to curl up with, you will laugh, cry, sigh and definately agree with, for one way or another you will understand and learn through each story about how amazing "Cat's" truley are. If you are a Lover of Cat's you will enjoy adding this Book to your Home Library-------this one you won't regret. MEOWWWWWWWWWW.

  3. I had recently lost my favorite cat, and was looking for something to help me get over my lost. I came across this book & reading stories of other people and their cats helped me get over my loss, especially the part about other people losing their cats! It does help your soul, when you lose your one true friend. I recommend this book highly!!!

  4. What a wonderful collection! It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me grab my own 2 kitties for a big hug. I like the idea of an anthology. I can take the book to work and read a story or two during lunch break. I also bought "A Cup of Comfort for Cat Lovers." If you like stories about cats you'll like that book as well.

  5. The stories are wide ranged in nature but sorted in chapters where you can identify with your specific cat joy or sorrow. Some of the authors are well known. Others are amateurs who love a cat. The list of Contributors and Permissions speaks for itself. This book is truly literature for cat lovers. I read every story and love them all.

5 comments about Not Manifesting? This Book is for You!.
  1. This book is a GEM!!! The author's kindness, compassion, and genuine desire to help her readers were evident in every line!

If you are contemplating on buying this book, you've probably tried (just as I have) to tap into the Law of Attraction by watching The Secret, reading thicker and more sophisticated books on the topic in general, and Quantum theories in particular, and possibly everything in between...BUT those efforts have NOT yet yielded the results you seek, otherwise, you probably wouldn't be here.

Well, Kathleen's book serves as the "missing link" bridging the "why" the law of attraction works with the "HOW" to put it into practice.

In response to those reviewers, who complained about the book's plain language: Yes, this is not an intellectually/scholastically written 200 page book, but a simple account of one woman's success in defeating those beliefs, that pose as a road block to deliberate creation, and her genuine desire to pass on her techniques in the hope that they will be helpful to many of us, who are "lost" in a our own "sea" of limiting beliefs, struggling to reach the "shore" and "shake off" the "excess" water.

Moreover, those reviewers have not considered one key point: This book was NOT intended to be a literature piece, but a GUIDE; an "instruction manual" on how to live our lives as DELIBERATE creators, rather than passive observers stuck in "chasing our own tails..." And as such, the author unquestionably achieves her objective!

That said, I believe that it is the very SIMPLICITY and the conversational style of Kathleen's book that make up the bedrock of its power! Fact is, that our recall abilities decline rapidly as time passes, and most of our brains retain simple analogies and imagery vs. sophisticated prose, and this book is filled with analogies that paint vivid mental pictures and thus get "imprinted" in memory, which tremendously aids in the CONTINUOUS implementation of the LOA principles.

Given the vast array of information on the Law of Attraction out there, there's hardly anything new that can be said about the topic, and the information in this book is nothing new. HOWEVER, it is not the CONTENT of the information that counts, but the WAY in which it is presented, which is why we buy multiple books on the subject in the hopes that one will "speak" to us. This book has deeply resonated with me, and although I realize that it may not "speak" to everyone, for $10 bucks, I would strongly encourage you to give it a chance! After all, you still haven't achieved your goal of becoming a deliberate creator, and this may just be the key...

Thanks, Kathleen, for your invaluable contribution! I feel very fortunate to have come across this book and give it a home on my night stand (a book shelf would be too far...lol)

P.S. The only reason why I've given this book four stars, is because it does need a bit of simple editing. However, if you are willing to truly absorb the richness and wisdom of its contents, this need not be a deterrent! (If a lack of some editing will "offend" your intellect, there's nothing wrong with that, but that indicates that you are coming from a place of "ego," from which true manifestation can never take place...and believe me, I myself, am in dire need of living by that statement :-)).

  2. I really enjoyed this book. I was struggling with manifesting and after reading the book still unsure on how to make it work for me. A few weeks later I happened to pick up the book and thought "maybe there is an email" and at the back of the book, the author gives you her email address. Kathleen is wonderful - and helps you see things specific to you and what could be blocking you from receiving. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with the law of attraction.

  3. I found this book to be good and gave me a few extra tidbits about why things were not working for me but I was a little put off on how it was suggested I spend more money on other things to get the help I needed. I am sorry, but if I had money to hire people to help me clear my energy I would not need this book. I understand you can learn how to do it yourself but I thought this book would be more than it was.

  4. Yes, the book is a quick read. But the author is genuinely interested in helping the reader understand the law of attraction. There are many books on manifesting, but there isn't one book, or THE book on LOA that will resonate with everyone--that's why we keep searching and reading until something clicks. The author does list her email address in case the reader still needs help with manifesting. I did contact her and she replied promptly with some useful advice. There was no fee for this, which makes me believe that the author is sincere.

  5. In the last 7 or 8 years I had the good fortune of reading a fair amount of self-help literature including books on the Law of Attraction. And I have enjoyed each one of those books. Each book taught me something new while reinforcing many other good ideas. Reading "Not Manifesting" has been a real joy - the book has been so beautifully written that it touched my heart and made me cry. I believe the candid approach of the author will help many of us to not only get a good grasp of the Law of Attraction but will also serve as a kind reminder of some of the fundamental principles of living a life of true joy.

I want to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly congratulate the author on writing this marvelous book.

  1. This book is short and to the point. The problem is that once you have the tools in this book, can you apply them. That seems to be my downfall. Another good guide book out there by my favorite author.

  2. I came across this little book completely by accident (fate?) in a bookcase/library of about 800 books while renting a house for a few weeks scouting locations for my company. I was at a very low point in my life and this book taught me a new way of looking at almost every detail. This particular Dan Millman book shows you how we make life so much more difficult than it has to be. I have purchased and given away almost 40 copies of this book to friends, family, and sometimes to people I have just met or barely know that seem lost or overwhelmed with life. Suggestion: Find a spot that is special to you to sit back and absorb this book...it's an easy "short read" and I hope it speaks to you as it has to me and many others.

  3. I picked this book up after leafing through it a bit, and what I found intrigued me to buy it. It's an interesting journey through life and growth, offering insight along the way. "The Laws of Spirit" can be read quickly, but should be savored for its rich content. Our life is always open to transformation, and only we have the power to fully direct that transformation. All life is a journey, and this books helps lay it out in simple terms to achieve balance in life. Elaine Williams

  4. This small book is sooo powerful it is unbelievable! I had so many aha moments that it shocked me. Would recommend this book to everyone at every age.

  5. good read and one all can benefit by. a book to keep handy as you will read it again & again.

5 comments about The Divorce Organizer & Planner.
  1. My husband of 36 years asked for a divorce after informing me of a 3-week affair with a woman 4 years older who'd already had quadruple bypass surgery. Go figure! Shock doesn't come close to describing my state.

However, I was not so shocked that common sense didn't kick in -- two days later I ordered several books on Divorce, including Ms. Sember's: I needed to protect what I could for MY future.

The Divorce Organizer & Planner came in good stead. With tears here and there, I worked those sections that were relevant to me (I didn't need to consider child custody/support issues) and collected documents I would need to go through the divorce process. While I had a consultation with a lawyer to make sure I was collecting the info I'd need (and found out the Workbook was right on target!), I did not retain her right away -- nor did my husband seek legal advice.

4 months after "the news," my husband was killed in a freak accident.

Because I'd "done my homework" with the assistance of the Organizer & Planner, I had all the documents and papers necessary to handle the financial and legal affairs that accompany a death: Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards, and Drivers Licenses for BOTH of us, Marriage Certificate, Life Insurance policies, Financial accounts, Lists of assets and liabilities, etc., etc., etc. I was able to obtain benefits, complete probate, and process life insurance claims forthrightly because all the information was readily at hand.

Ms. Sember's book is really a must have for everyone, those contemplating a divorce or not. I really should make it a point to write her a letter and let her know how very helpful she was at a very difficult time in my life.

  2. This is for someone considering divorce and how you get your ducks in a row before hand.

  3. This is a great book to help a person get their mind wrapped around the practical aspects of a divorce. In the long run it might save you money on legal fees because you will not have to have your attorney hold your hand and guide you through every process, problem or issue, you will be able to get a lot done on your own. The book forces you to think and plan about all the little frustrating details you would rather not deal with. I would recommend combining this book with other divorce books such as "Hit Him Where it Hurts" by Sherri Donovan and "The Ten Biggest Legal Mistakes Women can Make" by Marilyn Barret. "A Judge's Guide to Divorce: Uncommon Advice from the Bench" by Roderic Duncan is extremely helpful and helps you focus on the tough stuff like child custody.

  4. This book is written from the perspective of a woman. Why is it that everyone things the woman always gets screwed? When I was told , "I don't want to live with you anymore" and "I want everything you have and will have" I was looking at the end, 29 years of marriage, 9 months from retirement. Well let me tell you, I have been told the game is to squeeze the guy hard to get everything but not hard enough to make him quite. I am looking at all the debt, she is looking for all the assests and I will be paying her $40k/year maintenace until I am 76. Where is a book for a guy to screw his exwife?

  5. Another well organized, practical guidebook. Should be bedside reading before you say "I Do." Also a good reminder of the importance of record-keeping even if your life is sane.

5 comments about ADHD & Me: What I Learned from Lighting Fires at the Dinner Table.
  1. Blake.E.S.Taylor is such a sophisticated young man, isn't he? I wasn't smart enough to tell you my ADHD logically based on my experiences when I was his age, and I am still not! And most of the symptoms written in his book are quite similar to my childhood. I could have clearly shown you the strategies not only on ADHD but also developmental disabilities like him if I had been diagnosed with ADHD and PDD(=Pervasive Developmental Disorder) earlier. I didn't know anything about developmental disabilities when I was younger. Besides, even in my college days, I couldn't eliminate my impulsiveness and hyperactivity, which often stood out in my English classes given by English-speaking teachers. One day I mumbled,"Jesus."during my class so nobody noticed it, because I was very cranky and stressed. However, the teacher recognized and blew up,"If you swear, please leave! I have to be strict on that and I'm pretty serious." I got so stunned that I had no choice but to apologize to him. How embarrassed! He implicitly told me how to learn from such a big mistake, though...
Anyway, Blake couldn't have written ADHD & Me: What I Learned from Lighting Fires at the Dinner Table, if he was less mature. Even though his ADHD still remains, I'm sure his experiences will reinforce the strategies to tackle ADHD!

  2. This book is amazing, so much wisdom from someone so young and with a disability such as ADHD. Blake has become an inspiration to both me and my son who has ADHD and is struggling with social skills in school. I would highly recommend this book to all children, adults, teachers, parents who has someone with ADHD. For we already know what remarkable and speacial people we have.

  3. I provide therapy to children with ADHD and their families. This book is extremely helpful in allowing parents to understand why their children sometimes act the ways they do. It is also something that parents can read with their children so they communicate with one another about the symptoms of ADHD. This allows other children with ADHD to see that they are not alone in their experience and to understand that there is a reason why they feel they way they do.

  4. I recommend this book to anyone who has a child with ADHD or even PDD syndrome. Like many others who have placed their comments on this site, I wasn't looking for the medical version of what happens to kids with ADHD, I wanted to find out how a child was feels.

I felt very connected, while reading this and it has given me such an insight, that I finally feel like I can actually help my son. The stories were relatable, the solutions that Blake recommends are practical and age appropriate. The best part, it is written by someone who's been there, and came out the other side a success.

  5. Enjoyably insightful. More indepth than a lot of texts yet easy reading. Must reading for parents, teachers and disciplinarians of students with AHDH.
