5 comments about Borderline Personality Disorder Demystified: An Essential Guide for Understanding and Living with BPD.
- I bought this book to gain an understanding of borderline personality disorder (BPD).
I think the book contains a lot of information. I ordered this book along with Sometimes I Act Crazy: Living with Borderline Personality Disorder. For the average reader, I think the other book is slightly better, but they contain a lot of similar information. This book is good, don't think I am giving it a bad review. It gives a good background on the history of the disorder, and it helps give some ideas. The section on pharmacology might be helpful for some, too.
- This book was informative, but troubling to read. Though it promises to reassure those struggling with this disorder, the prognosis looks pretty bleak to me, even after reading the book. Could that be a part of the disorder, or could it just be that this book failed to reassure me? In any case, I am still looking for the answers to the tough questions that BPD pose to the sufferer.
- I liked the book in general. The author has a personal interest in BPD after having a sister who suffered from the disorder, and he seems to really have been affected by their relationship,to the point of guiding his career choice. The book hardly demystified BPD for me.It is as much or more a mystery for me,in it's causes and manifestations. The author suggests that his sisters BPD was caused by his mother taking pain medication during her pregnancy, based on his mother's opinion.Interesting theory but speculative at best.Despite these nits,it is a well written book and the author really gives you the feeling that he is compassionate and even personally interested in helping people recover from this horrible illness.
- This book is just okay at best. As I read it, I didn't get a sense that the author really understands how and why people become borderline. His own sister was a victim of this devastating disorder, but he was evidently unable to see her - or the rest of the family - from anything other than a subjective viewpoint. Rachel Reiland's book, "Get Me Out of Here: My Recovery from Borderline Personality Disorder" does a much better job of shining light on the tragic consequences of families failing to meet the emotional needs of their highly sensitive and intelligent daughters and sisters.
This is not as awful as some of the other books out there on the subject, but it certainly doesn't live up to its title. The Rachel Reiland book (Rachel Reiland is a pseudonym)is a first person account of the living hell that is borderline personality disorder. If you read only one book on this subject, make it "GET ME OUT OF HERE: My Recovery from Borderline Personality Disorder."
- For years I was struggling with irrational behaviors of my spouse. It was not until I got turned on to BP Central and books such as this that I am able to have a much better understanding and appreciation for what my spouse is living with. This book delves into the maddening world of the BP Disorder and offers tips to address the issues of helping my spouse and helping myself. A MUST READ.

5 comments about A Woman's Way Through the Twelve Steps.
- I have gone through the Steps using this twice in small groups. Excellent way to work the steps with those you sponsor.
- The language of the 12Steps, writen over 70 years ago, primarily for male alcoholics is a tried and true series of 'suggestions' that have seen many men and women find sobriety and a better way of life. A Woman's Way Through the Twelve Steps is very faithful to the 12 Steps as written in the Big Book but 'plumps out' the language in a way that is helpful and speaks to the spiritual and emotional needs of women. We have used this book in several groups and found the content to be so rich that we have to often take the Steps in two or three sessions. Its a gift!
- If you need help understanding how the 12 step work, for you or a loved one, read this book
- Just a few words to call attention to the omissions. Anne Ripley Smith, wife of A.A. cofounder Dr. Bob, was called the "Mother of A.A." It was she who taught about God, the Bible, prayer, and guidance to early AAs and their families. She formed the first Women's Group in 1936--a year after A.A. itself was founded. Then there was Henrietta Buckler Seiberling who "infused much needed spirituality" into Dr. Bob and Bill in the founding days and helped the Christian Fellowship in Akron to produce the astonishing successes between 1935 and 1938. Finally, there was Grace Moore Snyder, a recovered alcoholic, a long-time AA worker, and the wife of the venerable Clarence Snyder. These three were "women in recovery." And their roles underline the part that Christian women played and can play when the goal is reliance on God, growth in fellowship with Him, and carrying the message of God's power to those who still suffer. God Bless, Dick B.Anne Smith's Journal, 1933-1939: A.A.'s Principles of Success; Henrietta B. Seiberling: Ohio's Lady with a Cause, Third Edition; That Amazing Grace: The Role of Clarence and Grace S. in Alcoholics Anonymous; Real Twelve Step Fellowship History
- This is an excellent book! I have recommended to several friends how also love it. Women and relate to this book very easily. It is a bit feminist at times and occassionally critical of the Big Book/Twelve and Twelve, but I have learned to take what I need and leave the rest. I would definitely recommend it, but I can't agree with any negative comments about the Big Book or Twelve and Twelve. They are the foundations of AA.

5 comments about The Anger Trap: Free Yourself from the Frustrations that Sabotage Your Life.
- I bought this for my husband, who was willing & interested in dealing with his anger issues. Both of us agreed that it was just a silly pile of psycho-babble. Really.
- I thought the Anger Trap was very insightful and as I read through it I recognized my typical anger-generating habits of thinking. I also learned ways to retrain my thinking - slowly but surely - in order the respond to things less emotionally. I also learned that when I am "angry" I am probably really something else - disappointed, afraid, frustrated, feeling rejected or dismissed. When I start to get mad now I pause and ask myself, "what is really going on here?" and that alone has enabled me to explore other sides to my personality that I have tried to ignore for the last 30 yrs. I can get through situations that used to make me blow my top as a sane, calm person now. It helps to dialogue with myself (silently, of course, lest they get the net!) by using techniques from the book.
My only beef with the premise (it's always something...) is that the author goes with the idea that anger comes from past problems. Grow up with a dad who yells or hits and you'll yell or hit. However, there are many studies that show that a violent home does not necessarily beget a violent child, a calm home does not beget a calm child. Just as anxiety can run in families or depression, might not problems such as overreaction to stimulus? If the dad is a yeller, perhaps it is his genes that pass on the anger and not his yelling. Otherwise, why don't all people from certain types of parents exhibit the behavior? I bring this up, because it is easier to face the problem sometimes when there is no one to blame (except perhaps God, if you lean that way). Rather than bemoan the mess a parent has made of one, it might be better to treat it as a limp that runs in the family but was not bequeathed with any malice. You have the limp, now figure out how to walk with it. You have the temper, now figure out how to respond to life as a decent human being with it.
- I have quite a few books on cognitive psychology. However, I had no idea what a big component anger was to my emotional health. By now, everybody has been given the opportunity to learn that mental health is a very complex issue. However, many of us(I'm guilty of it) seem to deal with our emotions with the same thought processes, over and over. If you're like me, you end up kidding yourself that one day you're going to finally relax.. and not be so angry.
I found a lot of books kind of boring... re-stating the obvious, or talking about things in a very "clinical" way. I have to say, Les Carter put together a very good book. I used to think that I was aware of the many destructive thought processes that we can possess. Chapter after chapter, however, I was impressed with the new insight into such an old problem.
I have heard that some people will make the point that Les Carter is coming from a religious perspective. I'm an atheist and did not know of his religious background before getting halfway into the book. I can say that he does a great job of leaving religion out of the book to keep its information universally acceptable.
When buying this book, I thought it was just going to cover a small facet of my emotional well being. I, now, think that this is one of the more useful books in my collection.
When I read a book on depression, it often exposes profound insights into my own thought processes. However, this book provided a different way of interpreting the behaviors of my parents, teachers, bosses, co-workers, girlfriends, etc. I, definitely, was not expecting to get this much out of this book.
- I think a lot of people don't like this short of book because there is no one answer. I finished the book and I'm still thinking of what I should do in my own life to make the changes I want. But the problem is that everyone is different and so it is impossible to have a book have everyone's answers.
The thing the book does do well, and other books try to do as well, is to create insight into your own life, not to let anyone off the hook, but rather, to approach a problem more effectively and more importantly, without creating other problems.
Even though I feel like I can communicate my frustrations effectively, I found this book very helpful. I happened to be reading it over a period of bad weeks and I found that it really would help my moods.
I actually think that this book is good for a lot of different types of people, not even those who consider themselves necessarily angry people. I believe the book offers a lot of other types of insight as well.
If you are looking for a less dry, funnier take on these things, and a faster read, Harriet Lerner's Dance of Intimacy/Anger is just one of my favorite reads.
- This book is helpful in understanding anger and how to deal with it appropriately. I recommend this book for anyone struggling with anger.

5 comments about The Relaxation Response.
- This book didn't change my life but combined with other books about the subject was a welcome addition.
- Let me just start by stating that I'm a very sceptical person, and have had high blood pressure for 20 years. I also had endoscopy that showed some acid reflux. I saw the original print hardcover book and decided to read it. I couldn't put it down! I immediately began to apply the techniques from the book. My blood pressure went from 145ish/95ish to 108/65, consistently. I felt no "burning" from acid reflux. Prior to reading this book, I had began a diet and exercise program. I lost 25lbs and approx. 2 inches off my waist, but my blood pressure was still high. I liked the way the book was written. Straight forward, no frills, just pertinent, well explained information. This book helped me save my life.
- Probably not fair to rate the book below maximum, because this classic really was revolutionary at its publication, and is still very current at its core. The reason for rating the book now, of course, is to recommend/not-recommend a book for reading. Therefore, since the first ¾ of "Relaxation Response" covers ground that many more current books do very well, today's reader might well just skim the first six chapters. The seventh chapter quite well summarizes what to DO, and that is what the book is aiming at, after all. As stated at the beginning of that chapter, how to use the relaxation response is very straightforward. Excellent too, but we have to wade through a goodly portion of its approximately 150 pages to see that. Back in its original day, it was probably worth the full wade.
There are only four steps to this process - simplicity is good - and it is not appropriate in a review to list them. Get the book from the library and find them restated in chapter 7.
- very good book - not a gimmick.
gives simple to use technique that anyone can use.

5 comments about Man's Search for Meaning.
- Man's Search for Meaning One of the most important books I will ever read. Life transforming. Unable to put it down. And, at the end of the day, spiritually uplifting.
- As many stories introduce themselves, there are many times a main character who plays a strong influence in the books' effect on the person reading it. The reader will often be able to connect to the main character through similarities that they share. It could also be the willpower or determined personality that lure the reader closer to the main character. In the case of Man's Search for Meaning, this was exactly what happened to me. I was hooked by the first page. The author really allowed me to think about for who and what I am living for. If I were to put myself in his optimistic shoes, I would realize that there is no way I could have gone through what he did with the positive attitude that he had. Not only were his personality traits shining through the cover of the book into my mind, but alson adding to the books' real meaning.
My favorite personality trait would be Viktor's inspirational glow on life. His powerful quotes fill the magical pages with truth and acceptance to his new life in the camps. He teaches us that we need to sit back and just think about the true meaning in our lives. He is sure that he will get out of the camps alive and be able to share his story with the world. He overall just believed in what he said and was confident that everything would turn out okay.
Throughout Man's Search for Meaning, Viktor's personality traits shined out to me like a lightning bug in a dark night sky. In the camps he had a way of helping other prisoners get their hopes up and many others to find their meaning in life. It was his personality that pulled him through all his hardships.
- The 4:8 Principle: The Secret to a Joy-Filled Life
This is an excellent book that continues to impact and influence a new generation of readers. Frankl's account of his time in Nazi death camps where he experienced the death of his pregnant wife, parents, and brother as well as other horrors placed Frankl in a position of real authority to share wise counsel in this area. His experiences and observations, ultimately leading to an incredible understanding of human nature.
Though he experienced unimaginable tragedy and adversity, he nontheless realized great truth. After reading and even re-reading his story, it is hard to imagine he authored these famous words, "The one thing you can't take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of one's freedoms is to choose ones attitude in any given circumstance."
This message is a profound reminder to all of us who, in our more routine lives, may, from time to time, forget that regardless of what is going on around us, we can maintain control of what is going on within us.
This is a "TOP TEN" classic and should become a part of your self-growth library.
Highly Recommended!
- Dr. Frankl went through the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps. While many gave into despair and gave up their will to live, Frankl fought on to create some meaning from these horrible experiences. He believed that anything in life can be dealt with as long as we are able to find meaning in it.
This book saved my life when I had lost everything I ever worked for. All my life I fought to be a champion. I got close to my dreams with national shows and sponsorship requests at 18, but I got severely injured.
Doctors said I would need painkillers and Prozac for the rest of my life. They said I would never train again. I proved them wrong.
After 2 grueling years, I got back to my peak and surpassed it at 20. Yet, in the finals of a grappling tournament, I got a severe injury that was supposed to have crippled me forever. I felt constant severe pain throughout my body.
All the best doctors and therapists said I had no hope. I was doomed to lose the body that I worked all my life for. All my dreams, businesses, relationships, and meaning came from martial arts, fitness, and health. I sacrificed everything for my dreams, and now, everyone said my dream was dead. At times, I thought I should just die with my dreams.
This book made me realize I always, always, had a choice. No matter what happens in our external circumstances, we can always decide our character.
No one can take that away from us but ourselves.
Now, 2 years and 30 doctors later, I found the most amazing doctors and masters who could heal me. They both showed me a new life and a new way that I never even dreamed possible. I learned about qi qong, tai chi, and bio-mechanics to cultivate the yin in my yang soul.
I am healing, becoming stronger, bigger, and better than ever.
The wound is the seed of our adult life; it is out of that wound that our adult life grows. In the shaman traditions, it was believed that a healer only got his powers from being wounded in battle. It was through that wound that the spirit of healing could enter. It was by healing oneself that one could heal others. You can look at your suffering and pain as disabilities, or as an ability to be a miracle, an inspiration, and a champion.
- This is an very intense book about life and the human spirit. Someone at the Enlightened Wealth Institute recommended it to me. Really makes you appreciate growing up in a safe environment and being grateful for everything you have.

5 comments about Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes, Revised 25th Anniversary Edition.
- This is an excellent book for anyone going through a significant change in their life. It accurately describes the feelings and confusion you may be having and talks about how to proceed to a successful completion of the change process. Very encouraging and optomistic.
- This is essential reading for anyone who works with people experiencing change. It transformed my understanding of transition and what it means.
- In 1970, William Bridges, an English professor, was experiencing a difficult time in his life. A scholar, he decided to learn all that he could about the psychology of transition. Eventually, he taught a course in it; then he developed his ideas into a book, which quickly became the definitive source on the topic. Psychologists, counselors and other mental health professionals recognized it as a breakthrough self-help text. With insights, information and concepts that you'll be able to apply to everyday life, Bridges leads you through an often angst-ridden process. With his advice, you'll identify and understand your personal development timeline and learn to use change to your advantage. Transitions, ultimately, result in achieving real growth, both spiritually and psychologically. We recommend this classic book to people anticipating or in the midst of professional or personal turning points.
- This book examines in detail the transitions that we all encounter in our lives and presents strategies to effectively deal with them. The author identifies various transitions that we may go through in all aspects of our lives, including relationships and work. In order to work through a transition in our life, we must go through the three stages of transition: endings, the neutral zone, and the new beginning. Depending on the particular transition, the length of each stage may vary. However, before something new can begin, something else must end. Following the ending, we spend a period of time in the neutral zone which prepares us for the new beginning. There are many examples of real transitions within the book that many people will be able to identify with (change of jobs, marriages, etc).
- This book was the first book that I read on emotional change and transition (almost 20 years ago). I have recommended this book to hundreds of people because I have experienced the impact that understanding how to cope with change and transition can have on an individual.
I was fortunate enough to spend a week studying with Mr. Bridges at the CapeCod Institute in 2002 after the launch of his sequel, The Way of Transition. The course was targeted for the helping professions to offer perspective on how people cope with life change and more importantly, how we can support them through it. I was one of the few management consultants in the room amongst pastors, nurses, therapists, teachers, non-profit directors, etc. Needless to say, I was blown away by how limited my view was on the human condition and by how important it is to hold it up, honor it, and respect it both inside and outside of work.
The concepts here are authentic, simple, and compassionate and I believe that they apply to intense, complex, chaotic work environments like large-scale strategic, organizational change, and cross-enterprise initiatives. I strongly believe that as consultants and coaches, we have an opportunity and a responsibility to support our clients by:
*helping them self-identify with how they are dealing with transition while leading change
*reminding them of their compassion for others as they get out their swords for a proverbial "land grab"
*providing their stakeholders with a framework and language to relate to as people vs. work
*teaching executives that the best strategy is to "go slow, to go fast" when it comes to building trust and gaining productivity
So, here's to Mr. Bridges for the legacy of human understanding and compassion in terms that we can all understand and implement for ourselves and for others.

5 comments about The Cognitive Behavioral Workbook for Depression: A Step-by-step Program (Workbook).
- This book was more of a disappointment than the managing thoughts and feelings, which is slightly better. Not well presented but can be used as a psychoeducation resource as it explains cognitive distortions well and provides good worksheets. Not sure if it will be very useful as it is cery simplified and aimed at the individual who perhaps wants to work through their depression independently rather than with professional help.
- I have used this workbook professionally and would recommend it to other professions as well. This is also a wonderful aid for people who would like to do some work independent of their therapist.
- this is a great workbook. it has a lot of examples and even more ways to try to help. I found it very useful
- This book is an excellent self-help resourse for anyone fighting depression. It would be most helpful when used in conjunction with individual CBT sessions and appropriate medication.
- The book has been a slow read, but has had a lot of useful tips and strategies to help me overcome my problems with depression.

5 comments about Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.
- This is a must own book for anyone who is in recovery - one day at a time from alcoholism. Every house should own this as part of your library and reading a bit of it daily. Your healthy sobriety depends on it.
Sobriety seems very difficult at times, but it passes when you have your structure in place.
It is soooo worth it!
Merna
Pocket of Pearls: A 30-day pocket workbook to start hearing a softer voice inside of you!
- Imagine for a moment that you have just started AA. Your sponsor hands you this book, telling you that it, together with the Big Book, is central to an understanding of AA's "Simple Program".
You start reading, and on page 26 you find the following statement: "AA does not demand that you believe anything. All of its 12 steps are but suggestions." What a relief! Guess those people who claim that AA is a cult don't know what they are talking about.
But wait.
Reading on, you reach pages 29-30, which address themselves to the "intellectually self-sufficient man or woman." Here, you learn that there are dire consequences for not following AA's "suggestions": "We saw that we had to reconsider (our intellectual self-sufficiency) or die." On pages 37-38 you are told that: "The philosophy of self-sufficiency is not paying off. Plainly enough, it is a bone-crushing juggernaut whose final achievement is ruin...we have been driven to AA, admitted defeat...and now want to make a decision to turn our will and our lives over to a Higher Power."
Amazing. In less than 20 pages, you have gone from "only suggestions" to "do it our way or die." And the message is pounded home repeatedly the further you read in the book. On page 56, you learn the fate of those who don't fully confess their sins: "Some people are unable to stay sober at all; others will relapse periodically until they really clean house...without a fearless admission of our defects to another human being we could not stay sober." On page 69 you are assured that "Rebellion may be fatal."
Would you stick around for more?
If you would, then nothing is preventing you from doing so.
But if you would not, how would you like it if all the treatment centers available had no other option? How would you like it if virtually ALL treatment for alcoholism in the US was based on THIS?
Well, lots of us don't like that. And those of you who wonder why really should read this book.
- My long experience as an active, recovered AA and as an unofficial A.A. historian is that you can fly into lots of flack when you mention Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions in A.A. today. Some don't know what it is. Some won't read it. Some believe it conflicts with the Big Book. Some recognize that it was edited by two Jesuit priests, Father John C. Ford and Father Ed Dowling, and some will passionately espouse and/or defend the book as valuable to all AAs and those taking or teaching the Steps.
I think the best starting place is to learn our history.Real Twelve Step Fellowship History. This means learning where A.A. came from and what its Christian roots were. The Akron Genesis of Alcoholics Anonymous. It means learning what the original Akron A.A. program was.The Oxford Group & Alcoholics Anonymous: A Design for Living that Works, The Good Book and the Big Book: A.A.'s Roots in the Bible (Bridge Builders Edition). It means learning how much the original program was altered by Bill Wilson when he wrote the Big Book.Turning Point: A History of Early A.A.'s Spiritual Roots and Successes . It means knowing how many new people, new factors, and new approaches were introduced in the 1940's and early 1950's when: (a) Bill Wilson was deeply depressed. (b)Others such as Clarence Snyder, Sister Ignatia, Father Dowling, Richmond Walker, Father Ralph Pfau, Ed Webster, and others tried to fill the gap.Twelve Steps for You: Take the Twelve Steps with the Big Book, A.A. History, and the Good Book at Your Side. (c) How Dr. Bob dealt with the gap and uncertainty by fostering publication of the four AA of Akron pamphlets.Dr. Bob of Alcoholics Anonymous: His Excellent Training in the Good Book As a Youngster in Vermont.(d) What happened at the time that Anne Smith and Dr. Bob died and the General Service Conference were born. The First Nationwide Alcoholics Anonymous History Conference, 2d ed. (e) How, why, and by whom the Twelve and Twelve was written.
In short, we all need to learn our history before we start the rock throwing, opining, or embracing. And that's the best I can suggest for this book, other than that the readers take the time to learn our history and then decide on the importance, value, and message of the 12 x 12.
- The seller kindly emailed me after she sent the book off to me. She wanted to make sure it arrived in good time, and asked me to email when it arrived so she could monitor the actual days required to mail it. That showed a conscientious spirit, which is reassuring when buying blind from an unknown buyer.
- Although this was the correct book, the cover was not the one that appears online. What I wanted was the content, but I was little disappointed that the cover was not the same.

5 comments about The New Rules of Marriage: What You Need to Know to Make Love Work.
- Lots of wisdon between these pages, and the nice thing is one member of a couple can use it alone if necessary. Includes the best explanation and discussion of "boundaries" I have ever read. Though the information is marriage specific, the skills discussed apply to all relationships, including non-romantic ones. Personally I wish there were no "case histories" included because the reader knows they have to be fabricated to protect privacy anyway, and I think the theories speak for themselves, so I skip over most of them. Otherwise, a highly recommended read.
- The enduring theme of this work, which promises so much to women, revolves around men being to blame for the failure of modern relationships. It seems that we have neglected to alter ourselves to the necessary extent. If we did then we could better meet the needs of the liberated woman. The new rules are a process and curriculum whereby men and women can save their unions provided that men learn to act more like women.
Male nature is neither an outcome of regimes nor media slant, it is a result of biology. Over the course of the last decade the social constructionist perspective has been rendered obsolete by science. Women and men are known to have disparate biological imperatives and goals in life. Advocating for one sex to obliterate their concerns and proclivities in the hopes of making things easier for the other is both absurd and despicable. More importantly, it cannot work anyway. Societal cheerleading will never succeed in getting men to purge themselves of their essence...which is what makes them men.
Getting men to verbalize their thoughts and emotions is pointless, foolhardy, downright goofy, and a waste of time. After all, talking about emotion is as useful as singing about electrical engineering. Of course, there is much to disdain about The New Rules of Marriage, but what offended me most was its pervasive celebration of inequality amongst the sexes. Women want more out of relationships today so...men must give it to them. Why is that the case? In every equitable transaction, the side who asks for more must offer more in exchange. This leads us to ask, what do modern women offer men that is superior to what their predecessors proffered in the past?
Take your time mulling that one over because the man who enters into a marriage contract in 2008 faces far more risks than he ever did at any other point in history. In all likelihood, his wife will be infinitely more sexualized, far more materialistic, blatantly more narcissistic, and far less motherly than any woman who bonded with his ancestors. Given this eventuality, is it any surprise that modern men are increasingly reluctant to commit?
Twenty-first century women not only fail to render a quid pro quo they also--by demanding that men retain their traditional function as objects of status and wealth while also adding new requirements such as males be Chatty Cathy's and neatly-trimmed launderettes--have inflated their price beyond what the market can possibly pay. Today's woman may describe herself in glowing terms, but a look at the chassis should alert potential customers that what is labeled a Lexus was actually made by Daewoo.
Asking men to alter their consciousness in the hopes of accommodating women is preposterous. Such a wish should reveal to the direct sex that society's advocacy for equality was a ruse all along; nothing but a dense smog concealing a desire for female supremacy. Rather than internalize these New Rules men should memorize a more imperative injunction: Caveat Emptor.
- Mr. Real's first 2 books are useful in understanding male depression and how that blocks and prevents men from finding intimacy. However as he says himself in this book his message boils down to-be nice to each other. Rather like "Dr. it hurts when I do this." "So stop doing it." Also as other reviewers noted -it really sinks into self-aggrandisement. Beware when anyone seeking to "enlighten" you begins to suggest they have the TRUE knowledge, and only They have it. Save your money.
- As a therapist and a married person I find Terry Real's work to be extremely helpful. It is practical direct and hopeful. The many case examples and real examples of what "to do" are very useful. This book is easily read by therapists and lay people alike. Its an easy read and I recommend it.
- I read TR's previous two books while trying to save my 16-yr old marriage. I even went to see him for a full-day (w/ my ex-) and a half-day. Full cost: $11,000. In hindsight, TR punched through the psychobabble of 4 previous therapists and hit home on how both of us were sabotaging the relationship. Our marriage was one of those were the woman was running from self-analysis and I sought the safe-space of a therapists office. Net net, she didn't take his advice and I did (to be more honest and less nice) - which he had predicted; two months later we separated and I am now in a much more intimate, loving relationship with my second wife.
